Xiaomi Bone Conduction headphones with up to 12h battery life launched, priced at 699 yuan ($96)

Xiaomi Smart Ecology has officially unveiled a new audio product dubbed Xiaomi Bone Conduction Headphones. The new product comes with a starting price tag of 699 yuan ($96) and is available in China via JD.com.

Xiaomi Bone Conduction headphones

The most outstanding feature of the smart wearable is the use of bone conduction technology. The technology works by transmitting sound vibrations along your cheekbones instead of through the air. It is the same technique that sea mammals use underwater and is said to be the technique used by German classical composer Ludwig Van Beethoven to make music when he lost his hearing. With this technology, users can also hear the sound of their environment without affecting the outside world when listening to music, so that they can always pay attention to the environment.

Xiaomi Bone Conduction headphones

The vibrator inside the earphone adopts an innovative track-type design, and the sound quality is more distinct. There is also a 360° closed directional sound cavity, which can effectively suppress sound leakage and protect privacy.

In terms of connection, the new earbuds use a Bluetooth 5.2 chip, allowing for fast connectivity. The company claims a link delay is as low as about 86ms. Thus, users can have a stable connection to the headset when exercising, and there will be no disconnection.

In addition, the earphone has a single battery life of up to 12 hours. It uses a Type-C interface that is common to mobile phone charging cables. A 5-minute charge can provide to two hours of music playback.

Xiaomi Bone Conduction headphones

In other respects, the Xiaomi Bone Conduction headset supports MIUI pop-up quick connection. The device is automatically and quickly paired when it is close to the phone. It also comes with IP66 dust and water resistance meaning that it can withstand wind, rain and sweat.

Huawei P50 Pocket S render leaks ahead of November 2 launch

Earlier today, Huawei teased the upcoming launch of the Huawei P50 Pocket S smartphone in China. The device is set to break cover at 7 PM on November 2 in the domestic market.

Ahead of the launch, tipster Parag Guglani has shared the renders of the P50 Pocket S revealing its design and color options.

Huawei P50 Pocket S
Huawei P50 Pocket S render

Design-wise, there appear to be no changes compared to the P50 Pocket, which launched back in December 2021. It has three cameras in a circular camera island accompanied by a flash module. The other black circular cutout on the back houses a secondary display that can display notifications and other crucial information from a variety of supported apps.

The image reveals five color options – blue, pink, rose, green, and yellow. Earlier reports have also mentioned that the device will come in white and black colors too.

The original P50 Pocket launched with the Snapdragon 888 4G chip under its hood. However, the P50 Pocket S is rumored to come with a Snapdragon 778G 4G chipset. Other than that, we expect to see a 120Hz OLED foldable display on the device, along with HarmonyOS 3, and the company’s XMAGE image processing technology. The device is expected to be quite affordable as the 256 GB edition of the Huawei Pocket S is expected to cost around 4,999 Yuan (~$689). On the other hand, its 512 GB edition, may arrive with a 6,999 Yuan (~$965) price tag.

Apple iPhone 15 Ultra might kill off the 6.1 inch base iPhone model

With the launch of the Apple iPhone 14 series, the company had officially killed off its iPhone mini series. Now, a new report has suggested that the base 6.1 inch iPhone’s days are also numbered.

For those unaware, there have been rumors going around that the Cupertino based giant has been working on an iPhone Ultra model. However, this doesn’t just mean that the brand is simply planning on adding a new phone to the iPhone lineup. Rather, it is rumored that the company might discontinue the 6.1 inch base iPhone model (Via PhoneArena). This rumor had sparked backlash from many, who took to Twitter to voice out their disapproval of the iPhone 15 Ultra model.

Apple

Some stated that the iPhone Pro Max models are already too large. At the moment, the base model is the only true compact flagship phone from the brand, which some people prefer. So, it is not surprising that there are people against another big iPhone model. There is also a chance that Apple will launch the iPhone 15 Ultra with some exclusive Ultra features, which has also raised concerns with its customers that do not wish to have another Pro Max model in the market, despite rumors of the Ultra being the replacement for the top end Pro Max series.

Interestingly, there was a recent rumor regarding the iPhone 15 Ultra featuring a premium titanium build. If this is true, it might address some of the issues of Apple users that complain of the iPhone 14 Pro Max being too heavy and unwieldy with one hand since titanium is 45 percent lighter than stainless steel but still just as strong. But keep in mind that this is still just an unconfirmed report, so take this news with a pinch of salt for now.

Canceled Poco F4 Pro Appears in a Video

The Poco F4 is one of the best flagship killer smartphones released in 2022. Before its launch, there were leaks about a Pro model.

The so-called Poco F4 Pro was later revealed to be canceled. Now, months later, this unreleased smartphone appears in a video.

A Malaysia-based Xiaomi reseller called Xiaomi Kluang Technology showcased (via Xiaomiui) the canceled Poco F4 Pro in a Facebook live stream in late September. The video confirms what the initial leaks about this device stated earlier this year.

The Poco F4 Pro is indeed a rebranded Redmi K50 Pro. If it had gone official, it would have become the first Poco-branded smartphone with a QHD+ display.

The reason behind the product’s cancellation is a mystery. However, it is worth noting that the brand was undoubtedly testing it for global markets.

The phone in the video boots the last known internal MIUI Global build (V13.0.0.18.SLKMIXM). Xiaomi stopped releasing internal MIUI builds for this handset two months ahead of the launch of Poco F4.

If the Poco F4 Pro had been released, it would have offered features like a 6.67-inch QHD+ (3200 x 1440 pixels) 120Hz OLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, 108MP primary camera, 20MP selfie camera, dual stereo speakers, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 5,000mAh battery, and 120W fast wired charging support.
