iQOO 8, 8 Legend India launch may not happen

In August, iQOO launched the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Pro flagship phones in China. Since then, several reports have claimed that iQOO will be launching the iQOO 8 series in India in the succeeding month. It was speculated that these devices will launch as iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Legend. Tipster Debayan Roy, who had previously speculated on the India launch of the iQOO 8 series has now claimed that these phones may not launch in India.

At present, the iQOO 8 series of smartphones are only available in China. Reports from October claimed that the iQOO 8 and iQOO 8 Legend will launch around early November in India. Moreover, the Indian variant of the iQOO 8 series have been previously spotted at Geekbench, Google Play Console, and even at the BIS certification site.

While these listings hinted at the India launch of the iQOO 8 lineup, the company haven’t yet released a single teaser in India. If the company still has any plans to launch the iQOO 8 series in the country, it may soon release some teasers in the coming days.

Ola Electric delays deliveries of S1 and S1 Pro scooters due to chip shortage

A few months ago, Ola Electric launched its electric two-wheeler scooters on the Indian market — Ola S1 and S1 Pro. At that time, the company had said that the deliveries will begin in October but that wasn’t the case.

The first batch of deliveries were scheduled for November 30 but the company has now decided to delay electric scooters to between December 15 to the end of the month, a two- to four-week delay from its earlier schedule.

Ola S1 Pro Electric Scooter

The company has said that the delay is happening because of the shortage of chips and electronic parts. It is being reported that the company has stopped taking any new bookings until the chip shortage has eased.

In an email to customers, Ola Electic said: “Due to the ongoing global shortage of chipsets and electronic parts, there are some unavoidable delays to your Ola S1 delivery. We apologize for this delay and assure you that we are ramping up production as fast as we can so you can get your Ola S1 at the earliest.”

The company has claimed that the Ola S1 can offer a range of 121 kilometers while the Pro model’s range is rated at 181 kilometers. This is higher than other electric two-wheelers currently available in India. Ola will provide a portable 750W charger and is also setting up its ‘Hypercharger’ network across the country, allowing users to regain about 75 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes.

The Ola S1 has a starting price of ₹99,999 (~$1,348) while the pricing of the upgraded Ola S1 Pro starts at ₹1,29,999 (~$1,753). The bookings started on September 15 and the company announced it had done sales worth ₹600 crores on the first day, reaching ₹1,100 crores on the second day.

Honor 60 series launch date confirmed

Honor took to its Weibo handle today to reveal the Honor 60 series launch date. The company will be unleashing the Honor 60 lineup at 7:30 PM (local time) on Dec. 1 in China.

The video teaser released by the brand shows that the Honor 60 series’ color scheme will have starry sky elements.  A previously seen promo image revealed that the Honor 60 will feature dual camera rings like the Honor 50 lineup.

Rumors have it that these models will be succeeded by the Honor 60, Honor 60 Pro, and Honor 60 SE. The Chinese manufacturer is yet to share the specs of these phones. It appears that the Honor 60 trio will rival the OPPO Reno7, Reno7 Pro, and Reno7 SE that are scheduled to go official on Nov. 25.

Honor 60 series

Not much is known about the specs of the Honor 60 models. The vanilla and Pro models are likely to carry support for 66W fast charging, whereas the SE variant may come with 40W charging. Several Honor phones with model numbers such as GIA-AN00, ELZ-AN00, TNA-AN00, ANY-AN00, and LSA-AN00 have been spotted at 3C. Alleged Redmi K50 Gaming series specs, launch details emerge

Last week, we reported on the alleged model numbers of the Xiaomi 12 and the Redmi K50 series of phones. A few days from that, more details about two of those devices have emerged. Let’s take a look at what these handsets have to offer.

Redmi Logo Branding

Xiaomiui has spilled beans on two upcoming Xiaomi smartphones, codenamed Matisse and Rubens. These devices bear shortened model numbers L10 and L11A respectively. Information about the duo has been found in the MIUI code and the IMEI database.

Xiaomi Matisse (L10)

Xiaomi Matisse will have three regional variants, namely China, Global, and India. This is based on its model numbers 21121210C, 21121210G, and 21121210I registered in the IMEI database.

In China, it will be sold under the Redmi brand, whereas in other markets, it will flaunt POCO branding. As the first four digits of the model numbers of Xioami devices indicate their release year and month, this phone could make its debut in December 2012.

However, Xiaomiui suggests that Xiaomi may not be able to release it in time as the handset’s software is still in development.

Redmi K40G Review 26
Redmi K40 Gaming Edition

As far as specs are concerned, the smartphone is said to be powered by the recently unveiled MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. It is expected to have either a 120Hz or a 144Hz OLED display with a mixture of Goodix and FPC in-screen fingerprint sensors.

For photography and videography, it will house quad cameras on the rear. The setup will include a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor,  a 13MP OmniVision OV13B10 ultra-wide unit, an 8MP OmniVision OV08856 telemacro shooter, and a 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M1 depth sensor. There’s also a variant of this phone with a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 main camera.

Lastly, talking about names, the handset is expected to go official as Redmi K50 Gaming or Redmi K50 Gaming Pro in China and POCO F4 GT in other markets.

Xiaomi Rubens (L11A)

Xiaomi Rubens currently only has a ‘China’ variant with model number 22041211AC. Unsurprisingly, the smartphone will feature Redmi branding in its home country.

Xiaomiui says that this device could go official as Redmi K50 Gaming Standard Edition. That’s because the Chinese Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G, which is sold as POCO X3 GT in international markets was initially called Redmi K40 Gaming Standard Edition in its development stage.

Redmi Note 10 Pro featured CN VER Review 16
Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G

The Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G and the Redmi K40 Gaming house chipsets from the same family, Dimensity 1100 and Dimensity 1200 to be exact. Similarly, Xiaomi Rubens is said to be powered by the unannounced Dimensity 7000 chip, which is rumored to be the toned-down version of Dimensity 9000 expected to feature inside Xiaomi Matisse.

Unfortunately, not much is known about this handset, except that it will have triple rear cameras. The setup will include a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW3 primary sensor.

According to its model number, the smartphone is scheduled to go official in April 2022.

MediaTek Dimensity 7000 5nm chip to reportedly have 75W fast charging support

A few days ago, MediaTek announced its latest flagship smartphone chipset — Dimensity 9000 which is manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process and is set to compete against the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (aka Snapdragon 898).

However, there are reports about the Taiwan-based company working on an upper mid-range chipset — Dimensity 7000. Ahead of the official launch, some details of this new processor from MediaTek have leaked online.

MediaTek Dimensity logo

As per the report from tipster Digital Chat Station, the MediaTek Dimensity 7000 supports 75W charging, placing the chipset between the Snapdragon 870 and Snapdragon 888 from its rival Qualcomm. It is expected to be based on ARM’s new V9 architecture which is also used in the Dimensity 9000 SoC.

The MediaTek Dimensity 7000 will be manufactured using TSMC’s 5nm process. This places the processor between Dimensity 1200 which is manufactured using a 6nm process and the newly announced Dimensity 9000 which is based on a 4nm process.

It is being claimed that the chipset has already entered the testing phase and if that’s true, then the official announcement of Dimensity 7000 should happen soon. But before that, we expect to get more details about this new chip through leaks as there’s still a lot of information about this upcoming processor that remains unknown.

Now, the Chinese giant came up with the first phone from the V23 series and it has another awesome selfie camera: we are talking about the Vivo V23e. While the Vivo V21 5G is a higher-end variant of the V21 series, the V23e is the entry-level model from the V23 lineup. So which one is better? This comparison between their specifications will hopefully let you find out.

Design

The designs of these handsets do not differ too much. If we look at the front panel, they are almost impossible to distinguish from each other. But the Vivo V21 5G has a higher screen to body ratio, as well as slightly smaller dimensions. On the rear side, the only important difference regards the camera module: on the Vivo V23e, the cameras are arranged vertically, while the Vivo V21 5G has a more similar placement to the latest iPhones, more square-shaped and with cameras sporting different dimensions. Both the phones are built with polycarbonate and they do not offer premium materials, but they are very thin and lightweight.

Display

Do not get fooled by the fact that Vivo V23e is a more recent model: the best display belongs to the Vivo V21 5G. It is equipped with an AMOLED display sporting a diagonal of 6.44 inches, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and the HDR10+ certification. The Vivo V23e has an AMOLED display as well, but its refresh rate is standard and you do not get certifications indicating that its image quality is improved. Vivo V21 5G and V23e come with Full HD+ resolutions and an in-display fingerprint reader. The display diagonal is the same but, as said above, the V21 5G has a higher screen to body ratio that means narrower bezels around the display.

Hardware/Software

These phones are both mid-rangers, but the best hardware setup is provided by the Vivo V21 5G. The Mediatek Dimensity 800U found on the V21 5G is actually superior to the Mediatek Helio G96 of the V23e in terms of CPU and GPU performance. Further, it supports the 5G connectivity, while the Helio G96 does not. The RAM goes up to 8 GB, but you can get more internal storage if you choose the Vivo V21 5G: up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 native storage which you can furtherly expand through a micro SD slot. Both the handsets run Android 11 out of the box, but the Vivo V23e comes with Funtouch OS 12 providing more features and renewed look, while the V21 5G is still based on Funtouch OS 11.1.

Camera

The rear cameras of these two devices are exactly the same: a 64 MP main sensor with an f/1.8 focal aperture, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro camera. But the Vivo V21 5G is able to provide a better photo quality because it has OIS improving the stabilization. The Vivo V23e has a more powerful dual-LED flash, but having OIS is a more important added value, even in low light conditions. The most important aspect of these phones is the selfie camera. With the Vivo V21 5G, you get a whopping 44 MP front camera with OIS and a front-facing dual-LED flash. The Vivo V23e has an even more interesting sensor with a 50 MP resolution, but it lacks OIS and front-facing LED flash. Despite being older, the Vivo V21 5G wins the selfie comparison.

Battery

The Vivo V23e has a slightly bigger battery with a capacity of 4050 mAh (against just 4000 mAh), but the Vivo V21 5G can still provide a longer battery life because its processor is built with a better 7 nm production process. On the other hand, the Vivo V23e has a faster charging technology with 44W power, but you still get a high speed while charging the Vivo V21 5G thanks to a power of 33W.

Vivo V23e vs Vivo V21 5G: Price

The starting prices of Vivo V23e and V21 5G in the Asian market roughly translate into €330/$370 at the actual change, but the V21 5G has a wider availability and is available with better street prices because it is older. That is the reason why the Vivo V21 5G wins the value for money comparison while still providing a superior hardware and camera department.

Even with the app disruption, Tesla owners could still control their cars via Bluetooth if the app was not disconnected. This implies that it is also important that owners also carry their key fobs as an added layer of protection from being unable to access their cars.
The server outage may not be unconnected with the latest update of the app that was provided by Tesla this week. The yet-to-be-released Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has had a turbulent ride as it had suffered several setbacks leading to its early 2022 release. It has also been the subject of numerous rumors, as the scheduled date of released has been shifted or canceled previously.Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

We had previously seen rumored specs and renders of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, but thanks to a tweet, live images have now been shown of the smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is slated for unveiling in January 2022 during the first Galaxy Unpacked Event for the new year.

The live images of the Galaxy S21 FE emanated from Twitter user @Abhisheksoni130 and it is unclear what the direct source of these images is. The pictures revealed some important details of the Galaxy S21 FE. The new smartphone will sport a similar design as the Galaxy S20 FE. It has a flat 6.4-inch AMOLED panel and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera at the front. The back has a camera bump with three modules structured into the side frame of the device. Unlike the Galaxy S21 series, the rear camera bump is color-matched with the phone’s plastic cover at the back.

Some key details are still not officially confirmed. However, the Galaxy S21 FE will probably come with a 4,500mAh battery, while the device will be powered by either Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888, or Exynos 2100 chipsets. The use of these chips will however be dependent on the jurisdiction. The US market will settle for the Snapdragon 888.

The next Galaxy unpacked is rumored to come up in January 2022 probably at the same time as CES 2022. There is no official confirmation yet but the first Galaxy Unpacked Event for 2022 could come up around mid-January 2022.
