Here is the OnePlus 9 Pro in dazzling white

The OnePlus 9 Pro is OnePlus’s top-end model so far this year. When it launched, it was announced in three colors – Forest Green, Morning Mist, and Stellar Black but there may be more color options coming soon.

A live photo of a white variant of the flagship has appeared on Weibo courtesy of OnePlus’s own COO, Liu Fengshuo. The top executive posted the new colorway with a caption that loosely translates to “how about it? This color scheme is not bad, right”

The OnePlus 9 Pro appears in white

The white OnePlus 9 Pro looks like it has a matte finish and may be resistant to fingerprint smudges. These are features fans will definitely love.

At the moment, there is no info yet on if and when OnePlus plans to announce this white colorway but we want to believe it will eventually come to market. It has already been reported that OnePlus will not launch T-variants of the OnePlus 9 series, so it makes sense that the phones are refreshed with new colorways.

It is also interesting to see a white color variant of the OnePlus 9 Pro even though I think it is coming a bit late seeing as white has been a pretty popular color for a lot of flagships this year such as the Mi 11 Ultra, the Meizu 18 series, the Galaxy S21 5G, Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, and the OPPO Find X3 Pro.

Honor Magic 3 Pro hits AnTuTu packing a 12GB LPDDR5 RAM & 512GB UFS 3.1 storage

It is no longer news that Huawei‘s former brand Honor will be launching the Honor Magic 3 smartphone in China on August 12. The company has released several promotional teasers of the product including a video teaser. The Magic 3 has also appeared on the database of benchmark outfit GeekBench. The Honor Magic 3 has now been sotted by AnTuTu on its database, with the outfit sharing some of the key specs of the device extracted from the benchmarked models. Honor Magic 3 AnTuTu

The Honor Magic 3 is a flagship smartphone that will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset. This is confirmed by the AnTuTu listing where it appeared with the model number ELZ-AN20, different from the Geekbench model number ELZ-AN10. The earlier GeekBench listing revealed an 8GB RAM but this model features a 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. Thus, the GeekBench model is likely the Magic 3 while it is the Magic 3 Pro that just hit AnTuTu.

The AnTuTu listing also shows that the Magic 3 will have up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. The display size and resolution are still elusive but the display will come with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is also confirmed to run on Android 11 out of the box which we are certain is stock Android.Honor Magic3 featured

In terms of the benchmark performance, the Honor Magic3 recorded a total score of 749,223 points. This is notably lower than the score of the Snapdragon 888-powered smartphone. However, since this is likely an engineering unit, the score may be higher when the final model runs through AnTuTu.

The detailed specifications of the Magic3 are still unknown but a leaked video teaser showed it will feature a pill-shaped dual-selfie camera opening while the rear aspect will house five camera sensors.

The new device is expected to hit the market with the Galaxy A52s moniker. Its launch seems to be drawing near as it has received approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) authority.

The FCC listing of the Galaxy A52s (SM-A526B model number) has revealed only a few details. The listing revealed that the device is equipped with connectivity features like 4×4 MIMO, n5/n66 5G bands, and NFC.

Past reports have revealed that the Galaxy A52s could be Samsung’s first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 778G SoC. The handset was seen with the Qualcomm chip, 8 GB of RAM, and Android 11 OS at the Geekbench benchmarking site recently. The rest of its specs are under wraps. It is speculated that the handset may borrow its other features from the Galaxy A52 5G.

A recent leak revealed that the Galaxy A52s will be arriving in hues such as Awesome White, Awesome Black, Awesome Violet, and Awesome Mint. The 128 GB storage variant of the device may hit the European markets with a price tag of €434.64 (~$515).

Realme now has over 100 million users globally; India remains its biggest market

Earlier this year, in March, Realme revealed that it had around 70 million users, having sold 42 million smartphones last year. At the time, the company said that it was aiming to have a global user base of 100 million users by the end of this year. Realme has now achieved that goal well ahead of its deadline.

Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme India and Europe has revealed that the company now has more than 100 million users globally. Out of those 100 million users, around 50 million are from India, making it the biggest market for the brand.

realme logo

This isn’t surprising given that Realme was started in India as a sub-brand of OPPO and during the initial years, the company was present exclusively in India. It’s been a couple of years since Realme started expanding to other regions around the world.

The brand is now gearing up to launch new smartphones in the Indian market, as revealed in the latest episode of #AskMadhav. The company will be launching the Realme GT series on 18th August in India, which includes Realme GT 5G, GT Neo, GT Master Edition, and GT Master Explorer Edition. It is expected to have a starting price of around ₹30,000 (~$404).

Realme has unveiled its latest concept smartphone named Realme Flash, touted as the world’s first Android phone to come with support for magnetic wireless charging. The company has also launched two models of Realme MagDart magnetic wireless chargers but there’s no information about pricing and availability in the market.

Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 5100 chipset for wearable devices leaks online

Last year, Qualcomm had launched Snapdragon Wear 4100 SoC for wearable devices and now the company is gearing up to launch its successor, which is likely to be called Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 5100.

Folks at XDA-Developers have come across build ID “LAW.UM.2.0-00700-SW5100.00” while digging code in Qualcomm’s Code Aurora Forum. In this context, “LAW” stands for “Linux Android Wear” and for those who are unaware, Android Wear is the operating system that is now known as Wear OS.

Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Featured

The “UM” stands for “Unified Modem” and “SW5100” is referring to the Snapdragon Wear 5100 name. As per the report, the chip is codenamed “monaco.” It is expected to be based on Qualcomm’s “bengal” platform.

This new chip could come with a quad-core processor with ARM Cortex-A73 cores. For comparison, the current-generation Snapdragon 4100 comes with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 configuration.

The report goes on to mention that code snippets indicate that this new chip for wearable devices is based on Android 10 and Android 11. So, there’s a question mark about the support for the Wear OS 3 platform which is a unified version of Google and Samsung’s operating system for wearable devices.

Qualcomm has announced that the existing Snapdragon Wear 3100, 4100, and 4100+ chips are capable of running Wear OS 3 but it’s unlikely that the device manufacturers will be releasing a major update for the devices.

A few days ago, the company also announced the Wearables Ecosystem Accelerator program, which aims to have Qualcomm at the center of the upcoming Wear OS devices.

While Qualcomm has released a few chips for wearable devices, it has not been able to make its mark in this segment. Even smartphone makers are now slowly designing their own chips, Google is the latest example with its Tensor SoC.
