Japanese tech giant Sony has unveiled two new Soundbar models that might be the perfect Soundbars for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles. The two models include the Sony HT-A7000 Dolby Atmos 7.1 2-Channel Soundbar and the HT-A9 Soundbar with four wireless speakers and a control box unit. Sony’s latest flagship soundbars come with several impressive sound features and reflect a design tailored to suit the high-end consumer spectrum’s needs.

The Sony HT-A7000 Soundbar comes with two HDMI 2.1 ports that can provide simultaneous inputs, for example, connecting the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles to the Soundbar at the same time. The A7000 can process excellent and high-quality 8K videos, 4K gaming at 120Hz, and support Dolby Vision HDR and eARC. The A7000 soundbar has an impressive speaker system with all the necessary accompaniments for firing, beam tweeters, and surround sound. The built-in dual subwoofer provides sufficient bass output for audio content. For an extra bass effect, interested users could go for the Sony 300W ($700) or 200W ($400) wireless subwoofer.

The Sony A7000 Soundbar can tune itself to a room’s acoustics to optimize the overall sound profile. It also has 360 Reality Audio support and Voice Assistant compatibility. The A7000 Soundbar will be available at $1,300 at the end of September possibly.

The Sony HT-A9 Soundbar, on the other hand, consists of a control box unit and four cylindrical-shaped vertical wireless speakers that combine to produce an optimized sound output for users. The back of the cylindrical wireless speakers is flat for more effortless movement and balance. Sony says that the speaker system in the HT-A9 can create up to 12 phantom speakers from the existing four units by synthesizing soundwaves based on the positional information available.

The A9 also uses 360 spatial sound mapping technology. The device has a single HDMI port, an Ethernet input, and an Aux port for input devices, including any compatible Sony TV. This guarantees greater audio clarity in the output from the Soundbar. Being a wireless speaker system, the A9 Soundbar does not need wires to connect to the speakers. However, the four speakers, together with the control box unit, need to be powered individually from the mains electricity. The A9 Soundbar will sell at $1,800 from October 2021.

The news is surprising as there were no previous reports that Vivo was developing its own chip. Earlier this month, we learned that OPPO is developing its own ISP but we do not know when it will appear on a phone. The source also mentions a micro pan-tilt feature and a telescopic lens for the Vivo X70 series. A leak also revealed the main camera of the X70 has an aperture of f/1.5 and that the device will have 5-axis image stabilization.

An initial leak for the device had indicated a red color variant. Now, Blass has shown that the OnePlus Nord 2 will also come in Green Wood, Gray Sierra, and Blue Haze color variants.

The leaker also indicated that the Green Wood and Blue Haze variants would have a significantly different finish from the other versions. The OnePlus Nord 2 is scheduled for unveiling on July 22, and prior to its launch, it has been the subject of several leaks from different quarters. OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T were the brand’s flagship smartphones of 2018. The handset currently runs OxygenOS 10 based on Android 10. They are eligible for Android 11 but have only received a single public beta build so far. Ahead of the stable release of OxygenOS 11, the devices are now receiving a new maintenance update.

According to an official announcement post on OnePlus Community, the brand has started seeding a new system update for the OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 6T. This update arrives as OxygenOS 10.3.12.

As per the official changelog, the latest software update bumps up the security patch to July 2021. Apart from that, the new update improves system stability and fixes some known issues.

Like any other OTA software update, the OxygenOS 10.3.12 for the OnePlus 6 and the OnePus 6T is being rolled out in a staged manner worldwide. Therefore, it may take some time to reach every unit.

That said, the upcoming Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 stable build should be the last major system update for these phones. It’s not known when this software build will be rolled out.

Asus now pushing Android 11 update to the ROG Phone 3 in Taiwan

Taiwanese tech company ASUS has a few heavy-hitting phones from its recent lineup, including the ROG Phone 3, which debuted with the Android 10 operating system. Many users of the ROG Phone 3 had expected a quick update of their devices with the new Android 11 OS when the new software became available last year. But ASUS declined from an immediate upgrade of the device when it introduced the first Android 11 update for its device back in December 2020.

Asus also overlooked the ROG Phone 3 in a subsequent update earlier this year. However, it seems the wait is over – at least for its home market of Taiwan. The Android 11 update is now in full motion in Taiwan, with the global users slated for the upgrade subsequently. The gaming flagship packs a lot of power with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset and up to 16GB of RAM. It is essential that Asus fast tracks the update of its devices to Android 11, as the next version of the OS, the Android 12, is already at the Developers stage, and a Steady version could be out in no distant time.

Many additions will come with the Android 11 update, which is up to 2.7GB in size. The new ZenUI design will come on stream with a revamped app system. There will be changes in the Quick Settings, power optimization for more excellent battery performance, new editing options, and adjustments in the notifications tray, among others.

The Asus ROG Phone 3 is already out of stock in some countries. It is a powerful smartphone that could receive more than one OS upgrade in its life cycle. However, the precedents already set by the ROG Phone 3 predecessors show some likelihood that this may be the only upgrade specified for the device. While the phone is not launching in the global market any time soon, it is slated to launch on July 23 in the Indian market. Well, it won’t come with the same branding as it will be rebadged into Poco F3 GT. The F3 GT is the much-awaited POCO smartphone that the Indian market has been expecting for a long time.

As we are nearing the launch, let’s look at all the details learned so far.

Poco F3 GT Rumor Round-Up: What to Expect?

Display and Design

Back in April, a leak revealed that the Poco F3 GT carries the codename – (ares in), which matches the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition’s codename – Ares. Later, the same phone was seen in various Indian certifications confirming the F3 GT’s India launch.

Recently, the device was teased by Poco India on its Twitter handle, showcasing the phone’s glass sandwich design and aluminum alloy frame. Poco confirmed that the phone will be built like a tank with its series 7000 Aerospace-Grade Aluminium Alloy Frame.

Additionally, the device was also listed on WelEletronics shopping portal with its key specs. It revealed that the phone features a 6.67-inch OLED display with a Full-HD+ resolution. It will be a punch-hole panel with a high 120Hz refresh rate, the same as the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition. Today, Poco confirmed that it will feature a whopping 480Hz touch sampling rate and a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection.

Cameras on the Poco F3 GT

Even though it will be a game-centric smartphone, the phone will boast a great camera setup. It is expected to feature a triple rear camera system with a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro unit. At the front, the device will sport a 16MP single camera for selfies.

Interestingly, the rear camera island will have a glowing edge on the top and bottom.

Hardware and Software

Rumors have it that the upcoming Poco F3 GT will come powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. It will be paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Just like the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, the Poco F3 GT is also expected to feature gaming triggers. Unlike the touch-sensitive triggers, these will be physical, offering more comfort and clicks while gaming.

As for the battery, the device will pack a 5,065mAh cell with support for a whopping 67W fast charging technology. The F3 GT is touted to run on Poco UI (MIUI 12.5) out of the box.

Color variants of the Poco F3 GT

Last week, Poco teased the color variants of the smartphone. Interestingly, the company didn’t simply reveal the colorway of the device, rather it shared a video with a plethora of color options.

Fans were asked to screenshot the colors which they want to be launched in India, but later, Poco itself confirmed that only two colors will launch – the Gunmetal Silver and Predator Black.

POCO F3 GT: Expected Pricing and Availability –

Unquestionably, the Poco F3 GT’s major fan-following will be because of its pricing. The much-anticipated Poco phone is expected to come at a starting price of ₹30,000(~$402).

While this is just a rough figure, the exact estimates were tipped by an Indian tipster Debayan Roy of Gadgetsdata. According to him, the Poco F3 GT will cost either ₹28,999 or ₹29,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The top variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is said to cost ₹31,999 or ₹32,999.

The prices of the F3 GT seem quite enticing, especially when the competitor OnePlus’ Nord 2 is about to launch. The Nord 2 is expected to launch with the same chipset and similar specifications, costing a little more.

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A10e in June 2019. This US-exclusive budget smartphone launched with Android 9.0 Pie (One UI). It was later updated to One UI Core 2.x based on Android 10. Now, it has finally started receiving the Android 11-based One UI Core 3.1 update.

Like any other OTA system update, this one is also being seeded out in batches. As a result, it may take some to reach every unit. Further, this device was carried out by almost all carriers in the US. If you own one of those models, they will likely get the update even later.

As mentioned earlier, Android 11 is the last major software update for the Galaxy A10e. However, the smartphone is eligible for at least four years of security updates. Hence, it should get maintenance updates up until 2023.

Sony PlayStation 5 Digital Edition is a disc-free console and uses the PlayStation Network account sign-in for in-game purchases and to download from the PlayStation Store. It comes with 825GB of internal storage and some in-built games, as well as a long list of impressive features. Redmi K20 bags Android 11 update in India

Xiaomi released the Android 11 update for the Redmi K20 in China in February. Later, the device’s rebranded mode Mi 9T got this update at the end of May. Now, almost two months later, the Redmi K20 has started receiving the Android 11 update in India.

Xiaomi has been delivering MIUI 12.5 update for eligible smartphones worldwide for the past few months. At the same time, the company has been also seeding out the Android 11 update.

Some devices like the Redmi K20 Pro got these updates together. However, others like Redmi K20 are receiving them separately.

That said, the Android 11 update for the Redmi K20 in India arrives with build number V12.1.4.0.RFJINXM. The software build is currently being rolled out in batches like any other OTA system update. Therefore, it may take some time to reach every unit.

The Redmi K20 launched with MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie. So far, the handset has received Android 10 and Android 11 along with MIUI 11 as well MIUI 12. It should soon get MIUI 12.5 update.

Last but not least, as per a reliable tipster, the phone will likely get MIUI 13 in the future. However, we don’t expect Xiaomi to provide Android 12.

ZTE releases an update for Axon 30 Ultra (global version) but you have to manually download it

The Axon 30 Ultra launched for global markets in May. Today, ZTE has announced that it is rolling out an update to the phone but there is a catch.

According to a tweet by ZTE Device (@ZTEDevice), the update is available for download from its official website. It doesn’t say anything about an OTA, so it is safe to assume that a manual download will be the only way to get the download.

The website will ask you to choose your region – EEA and non-EEA. Regardless of the region, the download size comes in at 2.8GB.

The changelog posted by ZTE mentions the latest version of the Google security patch, updates to the bootup logo and animation, and fixes for issues to improve system stability.

The Axon 30 Ultra has a 6.67-inch curved display with a 144Hz refresh rate. There is a centered punch hole that is home to a 16MP front-facing camera. the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 888 processor and comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

There are three 64MP cameras on the back – one is the main camera, the second is a wide-angle camera, and the third is an ultrawide angle camera. There is an 8MP telephoto camera too. The Axon 30 Ultra packs a 4600mAh battery and has support for 66W fast charging.

Xiaomi set to launch new phones with Snapdragon 888, Snapdragon 778G chipsets

Xiaomi is expected to launch at least 13 new devices in the second half of 2021. Some of these handsets could belong to the Mi MIX 4 series and Mi CC11 series. The information regarding the chipsets powering two such smartphones has now appeared online.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra Mi 11 Pro Featured A — Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and Mi 11 Pro

Popular MIUI tipster Kacper Skrzypek (@kacskrz) has revealed the SoCs present inside two upcoming Xiaomi smartphones. One of them has been even certified by FCC.

As per the tipster, the device with model number 2107113SG has recently arrived on FCC. This handset is codenamed ‘vili’ and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888.

He suggests it to be Mi 11T, however, vili was previously said to be part of Mi MIX 4 series. The device was certified by EEC in May. According to Xiaomiui, this phone will flaunt an AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels (FHD+) and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Further, as per Kacper, another Xiaomi phone codenamed ‘lisa’ will be featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. Information regarding this smartphone had already appeared in April.

According to Xiaomiui, this handset will sport a 90Hz display wth a 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen of the phone may also house a camera underneath it.

Lastly, it will include a 64MP Samsung GW3 primary camera, an ultra-wide camera, and a telemacro camera. This camera system will support 8K video recording as well as 960 FPS slow-mo video recording.

Unfortunately, the official marketing name of this smartphone is a mystery. But we believe it could belong to the rumored Mi CC11 series.

That said, we expect to learn more about these phones in the coming days ahead of their official launch.

Mi MIX 4′ 3C certification confirms support for 120W fast charging

The Mi MIX 4 is one of the key flagship phones Xiaomi has planned to launch in the second half of the year. It will be the second Mi MIX phone launched this year, but unlike the Mi MIX Fold which is a foldable, this will have a standard candybar design.

The device has already been certified by TENAA, though the agency is yet to publish its full specifications. It has now received the Compulsory Certification of China and the certificate confirms that it will support 120W fast charging.

A leak from last month first revealed that the phone will have support for 120W fast charging and pack a 5000mAh battery. Now, we know that it is true. The device will also support 15W, 27W, and 66W fast charging.

It has been reported that the Mi MIX 4 will have an under-display camera. It is also expected to have impressive rear cameras, a 1080p screen with a high refresh rate, a Snapdragon 888 Plus processor, and should run MIUI 13 out of the box.

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has unveiled a new children’s smartwatch under the MITU brand. The smartwatch dubbed MITU Children’s Learning Watch 5X comes with an upgraded safety positioning, support for children’s WeChat, as well as a high-definition dual-camera.

The MITU Children’s Learning Watch 5X comes just about a month after the MITU Children’s 4G Phone Watch 5C was announced. This new model comes with several upgrades such as 12-fold safety positioning, as well as 3D floor positioning. The watch also comes with dynamic capture positioning which lets the parent know the exact floor level the child is located.

In terms of battery life, MITU Children’s Learning Watch 5X packs a built-in 900mAh battery with a daily standby of 6 days. For daily standard use, the watch can last between 3-4 days and for heavy use, you get roughly 1-2 days of battery life.

The new watch also supports 2ATM water resistance which means it can withstand water of depth less than 20 meters. The device also supports one-key drainage, effectively enhances the waterproof performance of the watch, and makes playing more secure.

The MITU Children’s Learning Watch 5X is presently on presale in China via the Youpin website for 579 yuan (~$89). It comes in Blue and Pink colors.

The source also shared images of the new MagDart series of wireless chargers, which has revealed certain details regarding the upcoming products. Looking at these images, it is clear that the Chinese smartphone maker is working on at least two variants of MagDart wireless chargers. One appears to be noticeably slim, while the other sports a bulkier design. Apparently, the thinner version will offer 15W wireless charging and its body will be sleeker than the Apple MagSafe.

On the other hand, the second MagDart charger is quite a bit larger than this model and will reportedly offer high wireless charging rates that will rival modern wired fast charging tech. We can even observe a grill below its USB Type C port, which is likely for airflow to keep thermals in check during charging. Unfortunately, finer details like the exact charging rates regarding this model are currently unknown, although, the products hints at few interesting things that we can expect in the near future.

First, this would mark the first commercial Android handset featuring magnetic wireless charging like Apple’s MagSafe. In other words, it marks another important milestone in the Android market, especially related to wireless charging tech, and we could expect other OEMs to follow suit.

Secondly, it also implies that Realme will launch a new smartphone that supports MagDart charging, and it could also be working on additional magnetic-based accessories for its future smartphones.

There are already a handful of foldable smartphones on the market from various brands. However, none of these models have an IP rating for water and dust resistance. That will change this year with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3.

The two new Samsung foldable phones will have an IPX8 rating which means that they can survive a continuous immersion in water. However, the X means that it hasn’t been tested for protection against solid objects (dust). The info about their ingress protection was revealed by Max Weinbach (MaxWinebach) on Twitter.

This is a significant feature for foldable devices and fans of Samsung’s foldable line will be happy about it.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be announced at the next Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for August 11. The former will have a 6.5-inch cover display, a 7.5-inch internal display, Snapdragon 888 processor, an in-display camera on the inside, and triple rear cameras on the back. It will also have a 4500mAh battery and support for wired, wireless, and reverse wireless charging. It has also been confirmed that it will support stylus input.

Leaks have reported that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will have a 6.7-inch main screen, a 1.9-inch cover display, a Snapdragon 888 processor, two rear cameras, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a centered punch hole for the front-facing camera.
