Upcoming Nokia XR20, Nokia 6310 bags Bluetooth SIG approval

Recent reports have suggested that HMD Global could be planning to launch a new phone named the Nokia XR 20. Last month, it was spotted at the Geekbench benchmarking site and some of its specs were revealed through a Russian retailer. It seems that the launch date of the Nokia XR20 could be drawing near as it has seemingly received approval from the Bluetooth SIG authority. The certification site also seems to have approved another phone that is believed to be a renewed version of the Nokia 6310 yesteryear phone.

The Bluetooth SIG has approved Nokia phones with model numbers such as TA-1362, TA-1368, and TA-1371. The Russian retailer listing had revealed that the TA-1362 model number belongs to the Nokia XR20. It is likely that the TA-1368 and TA-1371 models could be variants of the same phone.

Xiaomi’s drive to enter into the premium phone segment, began with the Mi 10 series. The drive was continued with the latest crop of premium smartphones such as Mi 10i, Mi 11X, and Mi 11X Pro which have been released in India. Xiaomi India’s head, Manu Kumar Jain, commenting on the success of the Mi smartphones in the premium segment stated that; “With Mi, we have focused on bringing breakthrough technologies and setting newer benchmarks for mobile innovation. With the launch of the Mi 10 and Mi 11 series in the market, we have empowered our users with a premium experience, on the back of superior design, best in class features and functionality. It is because of the trust of our consumers and Mi Fans that we have been able to reduce the gap with one of the leading premium smartphone brands. The renders that can be found in the patent filings show that its appearance will appear similar to the other gaming smartphones such as the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro and ASUS ROG Phone 5. Hence, it seems that it could end up as a gaming-centric smartphone.

CAD renders of Mi Pad 5′ keyboard accessory confirms stylus support

It is no longer news that Xiaomi will be launching a new tablet this year. Expected to arrive as the Mi Pad 5, the tablet will pack flagship specs such as a Snapdragon 800 series processor and a display with a 120Hz refresh rate. A new leak has surfaced and it gives us an early look at two of the tablet’s accessories.

The leak comes as CAD renders shared on Weibo by Digital Chat Station and they are of a keyboard+cover accessory for the upcoming tablet. According to the source, the final product is slightly different but these images should give us an idea of what to expect.

The renders show the keyboard will also double as a case for the tablet. As shown below, it has a squircle cut-out for the rear camera(s) and a slot for a stylus. There is even a stylus with a cylindrical design stored in the space. This means that the Mi Pad 5 will support stylus input, a first for a Xiaomi device.

The keyboard itself has island-style keys and doesn’t have a trackpad like that of the new Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro or the iPad Pro‘s Magic Keyboard. Also, rather than a kickstand or a floating design like that Magic Keyboard offers, the Mi Pad 5’s case has four grooves that the other half locks into. The Mi Pad 5 will connect to the keyboard via pogo pins.

While the keyboard will be an optional accessory, we do not know if Xiaomi will bundle the tablet with a stylus like Samsung does with its own high-end tablets. Nevertheless, we are excited and can’t wait for the Mi Pad 5 to be announced. When it arrives, it won’t be an easy ride as it will be going up against Lenovo’s Xiaoxin Pad series and Huawei’s new MatePad tablets.

Apple Watch, like many other smart wearable devices, has transformed into a vital health tool that can be a lifesaver. The heart rate monitor is one of the most important features of the Apple Watch.
