Xiaomi recently unveiled the MIUI 12.5 Stable version and the update has not even been pushed to all eligible models. The second round of OTA push is scheduled for June. The company disclosed that the MIUI 12.5 is akin to a major OTA upgrade but Mi fans are already looking forward to MIUI 13. The Chinese tech giant is expected to roll out the MIUI 13 update sometime soon.
The rumor mill is presently buzzing with reports that the next-gen MIUI 13 custom ROM is scheduled for release in the second quarter of this year. A specific release date was even given as Friday, June 25, 2021.
According to MyDrivers, the source also disclosed that Xiaomi won’t be providing MIUI 13 updates for some fairly old models namely the 2019 Mi 9 series, Mi MIX 3, Redmi Note 8 series, and Redmi 8 series. At present, the MIUI 12.5 update has been pushed to the Mi 9 SE (among the first batch of models to get the update). The Mi MIX 2S and Mi 8 series will also be upgraded to MIUI 12.5 in the near future but these models won’t see the official MIUI 13 ROM.
Mi 9
The source didn’t reveal details of the features the MIUI 13 custom ROM will bring to the table but we expect the lock screen, main interface, Negative One-screen, animation effects, fluency, privacy, and security, as well as the battery life will see significant enhancements.
There is no official word yet from Xiaomi about the MIUI 13 release schedule.

They are not entirely new devices, but they are rebrands of handsets present in other markets. In the European market, the Xiaomi Mi 11X is available under the POCO brand and it comes with the POCO F3 moniker. Instead, the Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro in the European market is called Xiaomi Mi 11i. This comparison will help you understand the differences between the specifications of the latest Indian flagship killers released by Xiaomi.

Design
There are no aesthetic differences between Xiaomi Mi 11X and Mi 11X Pro. They come with exactly the same dimensions and the same weight. They have the same flat punch-hole display with narrow bezels and the same camera design, as well as the same side-mounted fingerprint reader. They are not built with the most premium materials, but they have a good build quality. The phones include a dual SIM slot with 5G connectivity and an IR blaster on the upper part which allows using them as TV remotes, but they do not feature an audio jack, nor a micro SD slot.
Display
Even the displays of the Xiaomi Mi 11X and the Mi 11X Pro are the same. And we are talking about a very good panel. It is a display with 6.67-inch diagonal showing images with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display supports refresh rates up to 120 Hz and the HDR10+ certification which improves the image quality on streaming services. The phones also come with a very high 1300 nit peak brightness. Unfortunately, as already mentioned, you do not get an in-display fingerprint reader but a side-mounted one. Both the phones feature powerful stereo speakers with the earpiece doubling as a secondary speaker.
Specs & Software
Alongside the main camera, the main difference between Xiaomi Mi 11X and Mi 11X Pro is the processor. The former is equipped with a Snapdragon 870 mobile platform, while the latter has a stronger Snapdragon 888 chipset that is actually the best SoC by Qualcomm. However, both the chipsets are flagship-class, so you should not notice any difference unless you play the most advanced games out there. Note that you can get up to 256 GB of internal storage with the Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro, while Xiaomi Mi 11X has just 128 GB. The phones are based on Android 11, customized by MIUI 12.
Camera
None of these devices is a true camera phone, but the Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro is definitely above-average when it comes to the cameras. The main reason is the presence of a great 108 MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture which allows 8K video recording. Unfortunately, you do not get OIS unlike most of the flagships with 108 MP cameras, but this phone is still able to capture images with rich details. The Xiaomi Mi 11X has a pretty disappointing (for a flagship) 48 MP main camera. In both cases, you get an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, a 5 MP macro camera, and a 20 MP front snapper.
The Xiaomi Mi 11X and the Mi 11X Pro also come with the same battery sporting a capacity of 4520 mAh. They are not battery phones, but their battery life is satisfying. You can charge the phones through a USB-C port supporting a 33W fast charging technology, but no wireless charging, unlike the vanilla Mi 11.
Price
The starting price of the Xiaomi Mi 11X in India is Rs. 29,999, while the Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro starts from Rs. 39,999. In Europe, the POCO F3 (rebrand of the Mi 11X) is priced at €369, while the Xiaomi Mi 11i (rebrand of the Mi 11X Pro) is priced at €649. Essentially, the Pro variant offers a better main camera with a 108 MP resolution and a better chipset, as well as more internal storage in the most expensive configuration. For the rest, these devices have pretty much the same specifications. Now that you learned all the differences, which one would you pick?
The now-deleted tweet showed the earbuds in white along with a Pixel phone with a dialog box on its screen. The tweet confirms that the Pixel Buds A has Fast Pair, a service that uses Bluetooth Low Energy and your device’s location feature to find compatible Bluetooth devices in range and allow you to connect to the Bluetooth device with just one tap.
Fast Pair will also register all connected Bluetooth accessories to your Google account which then syncs with all your Android devices connected to that account. It also has a Find My Device feature to help you find your lost Bluetooth accessory.
Seeing as Google deleted the tweet shortly after it sent it out, it is safe to assume that the device is not yet ready to launch. However, it is expected to arrive soon, maybe even later this month at Google I/O. The Pixel Buds A will come in multiple colors including green (with a white case), so if you don’t like the white version in the image above, don’t fret.
Considering Google used the phrase “Pixel Buds A-Series”, it is safe to say that this will be the first of a line of affordable pair of earbuds from Google just as the Pixel 3A launched as the first of Google’s affordable Pixel smartphone line.
Samsung’s Galaxy F series is about to get a new model, this time, an entry-level one. It has been reported that the next model in the India-exclusive series will launch as the Galaxy F22.
Info about the device was first revealed in a tweet earlier today by “@_the_tech_guy” and was confirmed by the folks at SamMobile. According to the tweet, the phone has the model number SM-E225F and it is already in development while SamMobile reports that there is a chance the phone will be based on the yet-to-be-announced Galaxy A22. This isn’t surprising considering current Galaxy F models are rebadged Galaxy A and Galaxy M phones.
The Galaxy A22 is expected to launch in 4G and 5G variants. It has been reported that the 5G version will have a Dimensity 700 chipset powering it. Little is known about the 4G variant of the phone which the Galaxy F22 will most likely be based on. We hope to see the phone pack a big battery, a feature that has become common in a lot of mid-range and budget Samsung phones
We expect more details of the phone to surface as its launch draws closer.

Chinese tech company 360 may have rested its smartphone business but the firm is still very active in manufacturing other tech gadgets. In recent times, we have seen a number of Robot Vacuum cleaners from the brand. Right now, the company has unveiled the 360 K980 4K Dashboard Camera.
With an increase in road traffic-related accidents, the dashboard camera is presently an important component that every car should have. The 360 K980 dashboard camera supports ultra-high-definition shooting at 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) thanks to a Sony IMX415 flagship image sensor onboard. This ensures that small-sized features are captured clearly such as differentiating between “4” and “A” on license plates.
The 360 K980 dashcam adopts a compact and portable size. It utilizes a 2.2-inch ultra-clear display. Usually, most cameras only permit video replay on a smartphone companion app. But in this case, the videos can be replayed directly from the dashcam’s display if a smartphone isn’t available.
The dashcam packs a built-in 64GB eMMC memory card which runs faster for small file storage and retrieval. It also comes with H.265 encoding compression technology that can save more than 30% of storage space, directly solving the need for external storage due to insufficient capacity. The built-in memory card also brings improvement in the overall picture quality.
Wireless file transfer is also swift as the dashcam arrives with high-speed 5GHz Wi-Fi which greatly increases the video transmission speed by up to 5 times.
The driving recorder also brings support for parking monitoring functions, advanced driving assistance (ADAC), collision sensing, and so on. Inside the retail box, there is also a car cigarette charger and an ultra-long USB cable that makes it possible to charge the camera while in use without the wire obstructing the driver’s field of view.
Talking of the price, the 360 K980 4K Dashboard Camera is presently listed on Jingdong (JD.com) for 699 yuan (~$108).
Huawei first announced the HarmonyOS 2.0 (also known as Hongmeng OS 2.0) for smartphones at the Huawei Developer Conference 2020. The tech giant later started pushing the beta version to selected models like the P30 and Mate 30 Pro. The stable version is billed to start rolling out in June, perhaps onboard the P50 smartphone which is expected to be launched that same period.
Ahead of the official release, a demo video showing the performance of the Harmony 2.0 onboard a Huawei smartphone that looks like the Mate 40 Pro has appeared. The four-minute video which leaked on Weibo reveals all major improvements that have been introduced on the OS.
What stands out most is the new control center which can be dragged from the top right corner using gesture control. On the top left corner is located an in-phone search engine. Also, when the screen is swiped down from anywhere, it reveals notifications.
Another interesting observation is the speed at which the apps open. It is notably quicker than what obtains in Android phones. But then, these are basically native apps. There is no assurance that third-party apps will perform in the same manner.
The Harmony OS 2.0 user interface is EMUI 11 and it is adaptable to both Harmony and Android. Huawei claims the OS is fully developed by its engineers but supports Android apps. Further, some early testers have confirmed that it is not based on the Android kernel but an entirely different platform, built by Huawei from scratch.
The HarmonyOS is designed to seamlessly integrate various smart devices for fast connection. The design ensures that services can be seamlessly transferred among the devices to produce a smooth holistic experience. The leaked video shows HarmonyOS indeed holds promise as a formidable Android rival but it remains to be seen if the OS will actually live up to expectations.

Xiaomi launched the Mi 11 Ultra in India late last month. However, the smartphone is yet to go on sale in the country. But as usual, the company had already sent out review units to media houses. Some of them have published their reviews as well. One such publication has revealed details of the accessories associated with this handset.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra supports 67W wired charging and 67W wireless charging. But the device ships with a 55W charger in India. Also, the fastest wireless charger sold by the company in India is capped at 30W.
In other words, there are no chargers to experience Mi 11 Ultra’s maximum wired and wireless charging speed in India. But thankfully, Xiaomi has confirmed to MySmartPrice that it will be soon launching the 67W charger in the country.
The Chinese smartphone maker bundles a 55W charger with the Mi 11 Ultra in India since the 67W charger is yet to clear the necessary certification in the country. As a result, interested customers will have to buy this accessory separately whenever it debuts in the region.
This charger is capable of charging the Mi 11 Ultra fully in 36 minutes. Interestingly, it has a USB Type-A port instead of USB Type-C like most ultra-fast chargers. Additionally, it can be used to charge other devices, including laptops.
On the other hand, Xiaomi is yet to decide on the availability of the 80W wireless charger in India. This wireless charging stand can charge the Mi 11 Ultra at its peak 67W speed. Also, it comes bundled with a 120W power adapter for operation.
We don’t see any possibility of Xiaomi launching the ultra-speed 80W wireless charging stand and the 120W adapter in India since even iQOO skipped the 120W charger for the iQOO 7 Legend in the country. This decision by the companies appears to be related to local safety regulations rather than their unwillingness.
When it comes to making phones, manufacturers go through several designs before arriving at the final one. There are times some of these early prototypes leak, giving us a look at what could have been. This is one of those times, as renders of canceled colors for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro have surfaced on the internet.
These renders were created based on live images of the prototypes according to Max Jambor who is the source. The images show that the OnePlus 9 would have come in Glossy Green and Glossy Silver. Both colorways look like the Aquamarine Green and Lunar Silver OnePlus 8T respectively. Seeing how closely the colors look, we are glad OnePlus went with a different CMF (Color Material Finish) for the final product.
Canceled OnePlus 9 series colorways
For the OnePlus 9 Pro, the images show a Matte White and a Glossy Black variant of the phone. While OnePlus did release a black version of the OnePlus 9 Pro the CMF is different. However, we definitely would love to see the flagship in Matte White considering quite a number of manufacturers launched their 2021 flagships in this colorway.
All hope isn’t lost as we can’t rule out the possibility of OnePlus announcing new colorways for the two phones before a successor arrives. What colors do you want to see the OnePlus 9 and OnePus 9 Pro come in? Let us know in the comment box below.
The Samsung Galaxy A82 5G is in the news for a while now. This smartphone is said to be nothing but a rebadged Galaxy Quantum2 without the QRNG(Quantum Random Number Generator) chip for the global markets. The original device made its debut in South Korea in mid-April. Now, half a month later, the Galaxy A82 5G appears on a Samsung official website revealing a key detail about it.
Samsung Galaxy Quantum2
The unreleased Galaxy A82 5G has been listed on the Samsung Mobile security page. According to it, this smartphone will be only eligible for quarterly security updates, just like the Galaxy A72.
We could not guess of any possible reason for this move. Only Samsung could explain this but we don’t think we will ever get an explanation from the South Korean tech giant.
Anyway, as far as specs are concerned, the upcoming Galaxy A82 5G will feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz curved AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, 64MP (OIS, wide) + 12MP (ultra-wide) + 5MP (macro) triple camera setup, and a 10MP selfie camera with auto-focus.
Other features of this phone will include a MicroSD card slot, in-screen fingerprint sensor, IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, One UI 3.x based on Android 11, 4,500mAh battery, and 25W fast charging.

The 2021 PMPL circuit will feature a $14 million total prize pool and seven new regions, including North America, Brazil, Latam, CIS, Turkey, Arabia, and Western Europe.

The global TWS (true wireless earbuds) market is expected to see a growth of 33 percent year on year in 2021, reaching a sizeable 310 million units. This follows after the massive 78 percent year on year growth that the market saw back in 2020.
According to a Counterpoint Research report, the TWS market saw shipments that slightly crossed expectations back in 2020, reaching 233 million units. Although, the performance was mainly driven by low to mid range segments. Back in 2020, the coronavirus pandemic had impacted the TWS market in China last year, but the situation has improved, with production capacities running at full capacity as well. Furthermore, the market demand for the product online has been higher than other electronic devices.
Notably, the sales were also backed by the work from home and online education making consumers more likely to purchase electronic gadgets and more. Thus, the proportion of low to mid range TWS earbuds saw better sales during this time. While vaccines across the globe has helped ease the impact of COVID-19, the pent up demand for high end TWS is not expected to explode until late Q3 2021, as per the report.
According to Senior Research Analyst Liz Lee, “Most anticipated is a new release from Apple, its first in two years. We expect it to be one of the biggest drivers of TWS market growth from Q4 2021 to the next year. Apple will maintain strong market leadership based on its loyal customer base, although its share will inevitably fall with the intensifying competition. At that point, the market focus will gradually shift to the mid- to high-price segment as vaccinations help consumer sentiment improve.”
