Asus recently announced that that it’ll be launching the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 “gaming” smartphone in Indonesia on 11th December. The phone is the successor of the highly-praised Zenfone Max Pro M1.
While the company has already confirmed that the phone will come with a 5,000mAh battery, ensuring long-lasting battery life for playing games given that it is being touted as a gaming smartphone. It is also expected to support Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology. In comparision, this is the same battery capacity as the Zenfone Max Pro M1.

Prior to revealing the battery capacity of the upcoming phone, Asus had teased the image of the smartphone with the text that reads “The Real Pro is Coming”. The image shows that the phone will have a small notch on top of the display, which houses the front-facing camera sensor.
The image also showcased that the phone will have a dual rear camera setup, stacked vertically in the top-left corner, along with an LED flash that is placed just below the camera sensors. One of the sensor will also support 3-axis EIS for better experience, says the company.
According to the reports, the Asus Zenfone Max Pro is expected to feature a 6.26-inch IPS Full HD+ display with 19:5 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor, a major upgrade over the Snapdragon 636 that powers the Zenfone Max Pro M1.
The phone will pack 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and we are also expected the Taiwan-based company to launch a 6GB RAM variant as well. While rumors suggest that the phone will run Android 9 Pie operating system, some reports indicate that it could run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and later get upgraded to Android Pie.
Asus has scheduled a launch event in Indonesia on 11th December to launch the Zenfone Max Pro M2. So far, the company has not revealed anything related to the India launch, which is surprising given that the Zenfone Max Pro M1 was first launched in India and has been very well received.
