Huawei’s recent phones like Nova 3e, P20 Lite, P20 and P20 Pro feature iPhone X-like notched display. The recently announced OPPO F7, OPPO R15, R15 Dream Mirror, Vivo X21 and Vivo X9 are all fitted with notched screen. The upcoming OnePlus 6 is also speculated to arrive with a similar looking display. Recent leaks have revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 7 would be also arriving with a notch-enabled screen. A leaked image showing the display panel of the alleged Mi 7 that has appeared today also show that it will be fitted with a notch.

The presence of the slightly wide notch in the above image suggests that it could be housing some sensors for 3D facial recognition apart from front-facing camera and an earpiece. The bezels present on the sides of the phone are very narrow and its chin is a bit thick. It is expected to deliver an impressive screen-to-body ratio.

Rumors have it that the Mi 7 could be featuring an OLED display that will carry support for Always-On Display feature. Some rumors claim that it will be arriving with a 5.65-inch display, while other sources have started that it may house a 6.01-inch screen. There is a possibility that Xiaomi may release a small-sized Mi 7 and a larger Mi 7 Plus smartphone.

The Xiaomi Mi 7 was recently spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon 845 chipset and 6 GB of RAM. It may also pegged to arrive with support for wireless charging for its 3,400mAh battery. A recent report had claimed that Xiaomi may debut the Mi 7 in June. It is speculated that it will be hitting the market with a starting price of around $475.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S Hands-On Video Appears to Reveal Mysterious Design

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will be launching tomorrow, but none of the leaks that have surfaced so far have managed to reveal the entire design of the phone. However, a leaked video has surfaced today to reveal the front and reveal appearance of the phone.

As it can be seen in the below, the design of the Mi MIX 2S is not very different from last year’s Mi MIX 2 smartphone. The upper and side bezels of the Mi MIX 2S are quite narrow, but the bottom bezel that features a selfie snapper at the right corner is a bit thick. The thin bezel at the top features an earpiece. The back panel of the Mi MIX 2S has vertically arranged dual camera module at the top-left corner. A fingerprint sensor also resides on the rear panel. The right edge of the phone seems to feature the fingerprint scanner.

Earlier today, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun took to Weibo to confirm that the Mi MIX 2S has four-sided curved ceramic chassis. It is speculated that the base model of the Mi MIX 2S may cost around 3,299 Yuan (~$522). Jun has also confirmed that the highest configuration model of the Mi MIX 2S will be featuring 8 GB of RAM and an internal storage of 256 GB.

The AI powered dual rear cameras will be coming with couple of exciting features like Full HD slow-motion video shooting and scene recognition. It will be also arriving with the same 5.99-inch IPS LCD panel that is available on the Mi MIX 2. Some of the other key features of the Mi MIX 2S include Snapdragon 845 chipset and support for wireless charging.

HMD Global’s Nokia 3310 4G Is Powered By Spreadtrum SC9820 Chipset

Earlier this year, HMD Global officially launched the Nokia 3310 4G phone in China. However, the company had not revealed which processor powers the device.

Now, Spreadtrum Communications — a China-based semiconductor company has revealed that the Nokia 3310 4G is powered by Spreadtrum SC9820 chipset. This is the same chipset that powers the Lava Connect M1 4G feature phone that was launched in India last year.

The chipset is claimed to be the world’s first 4G feature phone chipset. Along with 4G VoLTE HD voice and video calling, the chipset supports the display having FWVGA screen resolution, 5-megapixel camera, and 720p HD video playback.

The SC9820 comes with dual-core ARM A7 processor clocked at 1.2GHz and ARM Mali 400 graphics processor for 3D graphics acceleration. In terms of network connectivity, it supports TDD-LTE, FDD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, and GSM four-mode.

In terms of appearance, the Nokia 3310 4G resembles the original Nokia 3310 (2017) that was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February last year. It measures 117 x 52.4 x 13.35 mm and it weighs 88.1 grams.

The phone features a 2.4-inch display that comes with 320 x 240 pixels screen resolution. It comes with 256MB RAM and a native storage capacity of 512MB. It also supports storage expansion up to 64GB using a microSD card.

The device also comes equipped with an LED enabled 2-megapixel snapper on its back panel. Connectivity features available on the Nokia 3310 4G include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB, Bluetooth 4.0, and 3.5mm audio jack.

It is fueled by a 1,200mAh battery that offers 5 hours of talk time on 4G VoLTE and 12 days of standby time on 4G VoLTE. The phone will be available in two color choices — Fresh Blue and Dark Black. The Nokia 3310 4G will soon go on sale in China and the pricing will be announced at that time.

Design and Display

It features a dedicated slot for adding a microSD card. Itis fueled by a 3,400mAh battery that offers 33.5 hours of continuous music playback, 13.4 hours of continuous video playback and 8.3 hours of continuous gaming. The AI battery management on the OPPO F7 reads and identifies the usage pattern and accordingly adjusts the battery power.

The OPPO F7 is loaded with the latest ColorOS 5.0which is nothing but a customized version of the newest Android 8.1 Oreo OS. It brings along full screen multi-tasking through gestures better navigation experience on the large-sized display of the OPPO F7. There have been sightings of cases and renders said to be of the Xiaomi Mi 6X but there has been no official confirmation of the device’s existence until today. The Xiaomi Mi 6X has been seen on TENAA and true to previous leaks, it does look familiar.

The Mi 6X which has model number M1804D2SE sports a 5.99” display powered by a 2910mAh battery. Its dimensions are given as 158.88 × 75.54 × 7.3 mm.

With respect to design, the Mi 6X shares a striking resemblance to the Redmi Note 5 Pro (Redmi Note 5 in China). It has the same vertically arranged dual rear cameras and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The only difference is the U-antennas reminiscent of the Mi 5X/Mi A1.

With the Meizu E3 out of the way, the focus is now on the Meizu 15. The anniversary edition flagship is expected to come in three variants which have been spotted on TENAA.

The three devices are listed as the Meizu M891Q, Meizu M881M, and the Meizu M871Q which we believe are the Meizu 15 Plus, Meizu 15, and Meizu 15 Lite respectively.

Meizu 15 Plus (M891Q)

The Meizu 15 Plus has a 5.95” display. It packs a 3430mAh battery and measures 153.8 × 78.25 × 7.25 mm. It runs an undisclosed version of Android and has dual SIM support.

Images provided show the phone has dual rear cameras. The cameras are stacked vertically and sit in the middle of the phone. There is also a ring flash below the setup. Power button is on the right and volume control buttons sit on the left.

Up in front, the phone has slightly smaller bezels. The front facing camera sits at the center of the top bezel and the bottom is home to a circular home button. This likely doubles as a fingerprint scanner.

Meizu 15 (M881M)

Meizu 15 Lite (M871Q)

The Meizu 15 Lite has the same 5.46” screen as the Meizu 15 but it is possible the resolution is lower. It has a slightly bigger battery too (3000mAh/3050mAh) and measures 143.62 × 72.38 × 7.5 mm.

The significant difference is in the design and camera. The rear is home to a single camera but it has the same ring LED flash. The back is metal with a matte gold finish and visible U-antenna lines at the top and bottom.

The front of the Meizu 15 Lite is white but it shares the same design as the other two. The white bezels lets us see that there is an earpiece at the top of the camera. It is a very thin slit positioned at the edge of the frame which explains why we didn’t see it on the other two.

Black Shark Technology Incorporated, a newly formed smartphone manufacturing company, which is backed by Xiaomi, is gearing up to launch its first gaming smartphone. The upcoming smartphone, which is expected to be named Black Shark, has already been leaked online.

While the previous leaks surrounding the Black Shark gaming smartphone had suggested that the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor, the company has now officially confirmed this.

The company has released a poster of the upcoming smartphone which mentions that the Black Shark gaming smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm‘s flagship Snapdragon 845 SoC to provide a smoother gaming experience. This is the same chipset that is powering almost all of the flagship smartphones launched this year.

In addition to this, last week, the company had revealed that the phone will come with “Shark Space” — a feature that is similar to the Game Center feature.

Recently, Black Shark’s chief executive officer announced a lucky draw contest on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo. As a part of the contest, the company will select 3 lucky winners on 30th March who will then receive Black Shark gaming smartphone.

The previously leaked specs suggest that the phone will feature a Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2160 x 1080 pixels screen resolution. It will pack 8GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage but we expected the device to have a microSD card slot, allowing users to further expand the storage capacity on the phone. We are also expecting either 64GB storage model or 128GB internal storage variant as well.

The device is expected to be running on Android 8.0 (Oreo) operating system out-of-the-box. While there is no more information available at this time regarding the phone’s display, the phone might come with a 120Hz display in order to compete with the Razer Phone that was released last year.

The sides bezels are quite narrow, and the company’s branding can be seen on the slightly thicker bottom bezel.

The backside of the phone is equipped with dual rear cameras and the top-left corner. Below the dual camera is its dual-tone LED flash. Sharp’s logo is also present on the bottom side of the phone. The rear panel of the Aquos S3 is also equipped with a fingerprint scanner. The bottom edge of the phone features a USB-C port and an external speaker grille. The left edge of the phone features a SIM card slot while the right side is fitted with a volume rocker and a Power key.

Sharp claims that the Face ID of the Aquos S3 is very reliable as it can scan 1,024 facial features of the phone to unlock the device. The rear shell of the phone features four-sided 3D curved glass coupled with a metallic frame gives a premium appeal to it.

The TENAA listing of the Aquos S3 has already revealed its entire specs. It is equipped with a 5.99-inch display and it could be powered by the Snapdragon 660 or Snapdragon 630 chipset. The S3 may arrive in 64 GB and 128 GB storage options that are likely to feature 4 GB and 6 GB of RAM. The 13-megapixel + 12-megapixel dual camera with f/1.75 aperture and 2x optical zoom is present on the backside of the phone. Even though Nubia V18 and Lenovo S5 boast very similar dimensions (with the former being just some millimeters taller and larger), the V18 has a way bigger display thanks to its narrower bezels (6.01 vs 5.7 inches). But the two displays should be very similar in terms of quality. Even the performances should not change so much as they both have a Snapdrgon 625 SoC paired with 4 GB of RAM (there is a 3 GB RAM variant for the Lenovo S5 which will cost less than the 4 GB version). We expect to see better photos shot on the Lenovo S5 as its dual 13 MP camera and its dual-LED dual-tone flash should adapt better to every condition. Even the front camera will be way better on the Lenovo S5 with its 16 MP resolution for highly detailed selfies.

On the other hand, Nubia V18 will offer longer battery life thanks to a much bigger battery (4000 mAh vs 3000 mAh). Due to their very similar specs, it is very hard to choose one instead of another… But wait: there is its price.

In China, Nubia V18 will sell for about $205/€166, while Lenovo S5 will start from just $157/€127 (3/32 GB variant). With these prices, Lenovo S5 has a way higher value for money! Also consider that Lenovo S5 comes with Android Oreo out of the box (customized with ZUI 3.7, an user interface which comes from ZUK devices), while Nubia V18 still has Android Nougat (customized with nubia UI 5.1) and we do not know if and when it will update to the new version. Here’s How To Watch Live Stream Of Huawei P20 And P20 Pro Launch Event

Huawei is gearing up to launch its flagship smartphones — Huawei P20 and P20 Pro on 27th March, i.e. tomorrow at a launch event in Paris, France.

The company will be providing a live steam of the launch event for everyone to watch. The event is scheduled to start at 9 PM EDT or 6 PM PDT and will be live streamed on YouTube (link). Users can also set a reminder for an alert when the live stream starts.

While the smartphones are launching tomorrow, their specifications were leaked weeks ago. The Huawei P20 is said to come with a 5.8-inch LCD display with a 2240 x 1080 resolution. It will also have a notch in the upper part of the display just like the Apple‘s iPhone X. On the other hand, the P20 Pro will come with a 6.1inch OLED display with a 2240 x 1080 resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio.

Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by the company’s own Kirin 970 processor. This is the same processor that will power the Pro variant as well. While the P20 will have 4GB RAM, the P20 Pro will come with 6GB RAM. The P20 will pack 128GB onboard storage but unlike the Pro model, it won’t have an option for storage expansion.

The rear cameras are the main distinguishing factors between the P20 and P20 Pro. Not only does the P20 come with just two sensors but they are different too. The main camera is expected to be 12MP RGB sensor paired with a 20MP f/1.6 monochrome sensor. Huawei partnered with Leica on this too and there’s LEICA and SUMMILUX branding on the back.

The P20 Pro will have triple-camera configuration at the back. The Leica co-developed sensors are arranged vertically, consisting of 40MP + 8MP dual sensors in the same housing and a third “standalone” 20MP camera.

Both the smartphone models will come with a 24MP selfie camera with “Light Fusion” technology that brightens images using artificial intelligence. There is a 3,400mAh battery supplying power to P20 while the P20 Pro will drive power from a 4,000mAh battery. Both will come with support for Huawei’s SuperCharge fast charge technology (5V/4.5A).

Based on the previous reports, the Huawei P20 will sell for €649, and the P20 Pro and P20 Lite are priced at €899 and €369 respectively. There will also be a Huawei P20 Porsche Edition which will have 256GB of storage and cost more.

While Huawei’s flagship smartphones will be launched tomorrow, the company will struggle to make an impact in the US market. In a major blow to the company’s aspirations to sell its smartphones in the United States, Best Buy said that it will no longer sell Huawei’s phones and other devices.

This development comes after US-based network carrier providers, including AT&T, backed out of a deal to sell Huawei’s smartphones in the country, reportedly due to the US government concerns over Huawei’s links to the Chinese government.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S Highest Configuration Variant’s Key Specs & Expensive Pricing, Confirmed by Xiaomi CEO

Xiaomi will be announcing the Mi MIX 2S flagship smartphone through a launch event tomorrow at 2 PM in Shanghai, China. It is a known fact that it will be the first flagship phone from Xiaomi for this year and it is also the first smartphone from China to feature the Snapdragon 845 chipset. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has revealed some information on the key specs of the highest configuration model of the Mi MIX 2S today. Moreover, he has also hinted that it will be arriving with an expensive price tag.

According to Jun, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset is very good, but it has one major drawback that’s not related any of its features or performance. He claims that the cost of the Snapdragon 845 along with 17 percent VAT (standard VAT value exceeds 500 Yuan (~$80). A report had surfaced in the recent past that revealed that the pricing each of the components present inside the Galaxy S9. It stated that the SD845 chipset that powers it is priced at $68. So, adding a VAT of 17 percent takes the cost of the chipset to up to $80.

He added that the pricing of the SD845 is about three times more than the Snapdragon 660 that is used for powering upper mid-range phones. Currently, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage is selling with a price tag of 2,099 Yuan ($332). Adding the cost of SD845 to it takes the price to $2,599 Yuan (~$411). The Mi MIX 2S is expected to arrive with full screen design, dual rear cameras and UFS 2.1 storage. These specs could increase the price of the Mi MIX 2S to 3,000 Yuan ($490) for the lowest configuration variant featuring 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.

At present, 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is selling for 3,099 Yuan (~$490). Hence, it is speculated that the base model of the Mi MIX 2S will be selling at a slightly higher price tag of 3,299 Yuan (~$522).

Jun has also revealed that highest configuration variant of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will be packed with SD845 chipset, 8 GB of RAM and a native storage of 256 GB. As far as the design of the phone is concerned, it will be arriving with a four-sided curved ceramic body. It has been revealed that one of the major highlights of the Mi MIX 2S will be its AI driven dual rear cameras that includes support for scene detection, Full HD quality slow motion video shooting and more. It is also expected to arrive as the first Xiaomi phone that will be arriving with support for wireless charging.

Two Mystery Products Will Debut Alongside Mi Mix 2S

Xiaomi is all set to officially announce its new flagship smartphone — Mi MIX 2S at a launch event that is scheduled to take place tomorrow in Shanghai, China.

Now, the company officials have confirmed that along with the Mi MIX 2S smartphone, Xiaomi will also be launching two other products. However, the company has not yet revealed anything related to those two products.

Based on the previous reports, we expect one of those two devices to be the Mi AI Speaker’s Mini edition, which is expected to be named Little Love Student Mini Edition. The live photos of the speaker have leaked online a few days ago, giving us the look at its design.

The speaker looks like a miniature version of the Xiaomi Smart Rice Cooker. On the top side, there’s an interaction pad with four buttons placed on four sides. It could be the hub for all of Xiaomi’s smart home products, just like the Mi AI Speaker.

This will be the second smart speaker from Xiaomi after the company launched its Mi AI Speaker in July 2016, which comes with a six-microphone array. This upcoming mini smart speaker is expected to cost around 199 Yuan, which roughly converts to $32.

While we are assuming that one of the two products to launch alongside Mi MIX 2S is this Little Love Student Mini Edition, the other product still remains mysterious. It seems that we’ll have to wait for the launch event to know what the other product is.

The showstopper for the launch event tomorrow is the Mi MIX 2S, whose specifications have already been leaked ahead of its launch. It is expected to come with a 6.01-inch FHD+ display panel and will be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 845 processor.

The top-end variant of the phone will come with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The phone will have two options for RAM — 6GB and 8GB and two more options for internal storage — 64GB and 128GB. The battery is expected to be 3,400mAh capacity, which is not large considering 6-inch display on the phone but it should offer decent battery performance.

Xiaomi has worked hard on the camera department of this new model and according to the leaked firmware files, the phone with feature 12MP IMX 363 dual camera setup at the back with support for artificial intelligence. It will also come with Multi-frame image processing and FHD 120fps slo-mo and 720p HD 240fps slo-mo video support.

The smartphone will also come with AI Face Unlock but nothing like the Apple Face ID. Another feature that is confirmed for the MIUI 9.5 (based on Android Oreo) powered smartphone is the Wireless Charging.
