Motorola has just taken the wraps off its new Edge 60 series globally, introducing two models — the Motorola Edge 60 and Edge 60 Pro. Following the global debut, Motorola India has now officially confirmed via its Instagram handle that the Edge 60 Pro is coming to India on April 30.

While the design and features of the phone are already public, thanks to its global unveiling, the only missing piece of the puzzle is its price tag for the Indian market.

Motorola Edge 60 Pro specifications and features

The Motorola Edge 60 Pro flaunts a 6.7-inch quad-curved pOLED display that supports a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and an impressive peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The panel also carries Pantone Validated certification and SkinTone technology for more accurate colour reproduction. When it comes to durability, the phone offers an IP68/69-rated and MIL-STD-810h-certified chassis with Gorilla Glass 7i protection for the screen.

Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Extreme chipset, built on a 4nm process. It’s paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The device houses a 6,000mAh battery with support for 90W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The phone runs on Android 15, which brings along a slew of Moto AI features.

On the camera front, it sports a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel main sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultrawide shooter, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and up to 50x digital zoom. For selfies, a 50-megapixel selfie camera sits in a punch-hole cutout. The phone also features an in-screen fingerprint scanner and Dolby Atmos-powered dual speakers.

Motorola Edge 60 Pro price in India (expected)

Globally, the Edge 60 Pro is priced at £600. The phone is offered in eye-catching finishes like Pantone Shadow (leather-like texture), Dazzling Blue (fabric-inspired), and Sparkling Grape (with a unique textured finish). For reference, its predecessor, the Edge 50 Pro, launched in India in the Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000 range, so we can expect the Edge 60 Pro to land in a similar pricing bracket.

Xiaomi allegedly demands up to a 15-hour workday from employees, penalizes for leave: Report

Xiaomi is facing scrutiny following reports in China alleging the company has been quietly pushing its employees to work excessive overtime. A post on Maimai, a LinkedIn-like service popular in China, claims that Xiaomi requires staff to clock at least 11.5 hours a day.

Those whose logged hours fall below 8 are allegedly asked to submit written explanations. And employees who consistently rank low in total working hours are reportedly subject to internal interviews, and in some cases, are pressured to resign.

What’s more concerning is that several Xiaomi employees confirmed these claims to Jiupai News, a Chinese media outlet. Inside accounts from employees suggest the situation varies depending on the department.

One employee from the company’s mobile phone division said each team seems to operate with its own baseline. In some groups, the minimum daily working hours are set at 10.5. While in others, it goes as high as 14 or 15 hours a day. Their own team reportedly operates with a 12.5-hour requirement.

According to Jiupai News, these expectations are not formally documented. Managers reportedly deliver them verbally to avoid leaving a paper trail.

A Xiaomi employee based in Shanghai told Jiupai News that their department enforces an 11.5-hour average, effectively creating a 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. workday.

Another employee, based in Jiangsu, claimed their team operates on a 12-hour schedule. Even then, they said, “the leader called me out because of my low ranking” in comparison to colleagues.

Taking leave can trigger overtime penalties

The system reportedly also penalizes employees for taking leave. According to several accounts, even a single day off in a month can drag the average daily working hours below 8, which triggers additional scrutiny. Workers are then expected to make up the time by staying late on other days.

Perhaps more concerning is how long this has reportedly been going on. One employee told Jiupai News that Xiaomi has been operating this way for nearly two years. The only thing new is the public attention.

And the consequences for failing to meet expectations aren’t minor. One employee said they were required to submit a written reflection after logging fewer than 10.5 hours. In Beijing, another said that those who continue to rank low in work hours face warnings from management, and if things don’t change, their performance evaluation may be impacted.

Outsourced staff appear to face even stricter enforcement. One contract worker said that their department mandates exactly 11 hours of work each day, not averaged, but counted per day. If they work less than that, they’re called in the next morning. If it happens repeatedly, they risk immediate termination.

Xiaomi has yet to make an official comment on the situation.

Apple’s latest ad is all about confidence in the iPhone 16’s durability. The video shows the phone surviving a dramatic drop, with the message that its Ceramic Shield—Apple’s fancy trademarked glass—has got your back. Unlike past ads that hyped toughness but stopped short of ditching cases, this one is saying, “Relax, it’s iPhone 16”. It’s a big shift in an industry where cases are practically a reflex buy.

The timing’s no coincidence. Chinese brands like Oppo and Realme are pushing IP69 dust and water resistance, while Corning’s Gorilla Armor 2 claims to shrug off 2.2-meter drops onto concrete-like surfaces. Apple is stepping up to match this durability arms race, signaling a new era where phones might not need extra protection.

But is it really safe to go careless?

The iPhone 16’s Ceramic Shield is “tougher than ever”, blending ceramic crystals with glass for better drop and scratch resistance. Still, real-world drops vary—think uneven pavement or a fumble onto tile. Apple’s ad is bold, but it’s also a calculated flex, banking on lab-tested strength to win over users tired of bulky cases.

The surface shown in Apple’s ad is a flat wooden platform, which is forgiving enough even for a flagship from three years ago. This ad also doesn’t clarify whether Apple would take any responsibility if the glass shatters due to a careless drop. It’s a confident message, sure, but a bit too safe in execution. The rated battery capacity is 5500mAh (36.5Wh). It supports 33W wired charging via USB-C and can charge an iPhone 16 Pro to 58% in 30 minutes. It has multiple output ports: USB-C and USB-A, with fast charging support.

The Xiaomi X1 Wireless Mouse Harry Potter Edition is priced at 349 yuan ($48). It weighs about 65g (excluding cable) and features a curved back suitable for different grip styles. It uses the PAW3395 sensor and supports an 8 KHz polling rate. It has TTC esports-grade micro switches and a 530mAh lithium battery. The mouse supports both 2.4GHz wireless and wired USB connections. It works with Windows 10 and macOS 10.13 or later.

The Xiaomi MK71 Pro Mechanical Keyboard Harry Potter Edition costs 599 yuan ($82). It has a compact 71-key layout with standard spacing, a 1-inch LCD screen, and TTC custom linear switches. Motorola has launched its new foldable smartphones globally—the Razr 60 and Razr 60 Ultra (also called Razr and Razr Ultra 2025). Both phones bring major upgrades in design, display, performance, and AI-powered features.

The Razr 60 Ultra runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite 3nm chipset with an Adreno 830 GPU. It comes with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. It has a 7-inch 1.5K pOLED LTPO internal display with a 1–165Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, Pantone Validation, and up to 4,000 nits brightness. The 4-inch external pOLED LTPO screen also supports a 1–165Hz refresh rate and reaches 3,000 nits brightness. It is protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic.

The regular Razr 60 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400X processor and features 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. It has a 6.96-inch FHD+ pOLED LTPO internal screen with a 1–120Hz refresh rate and 3000 nits peak brightness. The 3.63-inch external pOLED display runs at 90Hz and reaches 1700 nits. It is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.

Both phones have IP48 dust and water resistance and use a titanium-reinforced hinge. Motorola claims the hinge is 4 times stronger than surgical-grade stainless steel and can handle 35% more folds than before. They feature Ultra Thin Glass for smoother display movement and improved durability.

The Razr 60 Ultra has a triple 50MP camera system, with main, ultra-wide, and front cameras. It supports Dolby Vision video and Dolby Atmos sound. The standard Razr 60 has a 50MP main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide and macro lens, and a 32MP front camera. Both phones include AI-powered camera enhancements like adaptive stabilization, action shot, group shot, photo enhancement engine, and signature style.

On the software side, Motorola introduces Moto AI. Users get features like Catch Me Up, Pay Attention, Remember This, and Smart Connect. The Ultra variant adds a dedicated AI Key and Look & Talk, which lets users activate Moto AI hands-free just by glancing at the phone. AI also helps users organize tasks, generate playlists or wallpapers, transcribe conversations, and mirror content to other screens.

The Razr 60 Ultra includes a 4700mAh battery with 68W TurboPower charging that delivers a full day’s power in 8 minutes. It also supports 30W wireless charging and reverse charging. The Razr 60 has a 4500mAh battery, 30W wired charging that gives a full day’s charge in 15 minutes, and 15W wireless charging.

The Razr 60 Ultra is available in finishes like Alcantara, real wood, satin, and leather-inspired textures in Pantone Scarab, Mountain Trail, Cabaret, and Rio Red. The standard Razr 60 comes in leather-like, nylon-like, and acetate textures in Pantone Gibraltar Sea, Spring Bud, Lightest Sky, and Parfait Pink.

There is a US-exclusive variant of the Razr 60 called the Razr+ (2025), which has the same display and camera setup, however, it uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. It includes a 50MP main and a 50MP telephoto lens. Battery capacity is 4000mAh with 45W wired and 15W wireless charging.

Pricing & availability

Pricing for the Razr 60 Ultra is $1,300 in the US and £1,100 in the UK. The Razr 60 is priced at $700 in the US and £800 in the UK. Pre-orders in the US begin May 7 with full availability on May 15. Another variant, the Razr+ (2025), priced at $1,000, will be available in Mocha Mousse and Hot Pink from June 3 in the US.

The monitor is equipped with dual 5W speakers and a five-way joystick for quick navigation.

Xiaomi has officially introduced its latest Smart Speaker in China, priced at an affordable 199 yuan ($27). It features Xiaomi HyperOS and comes equipped with the brand’s new “Super Xiao Ai” voice assistant, offering upgraded AI capabilities for more natural and responsive interactions.

The speaker supports consecutive command recognition, allowing users to control multiple smart home devices with a single sentence. Whether it’s switching on lights, drawing the curtains, or starting the robot vacuum, the speaker processes multiple instructions in one go. It also supports voice-triggered automation, so you can schedule daily routines like cleaning or appliance control with a simple voice cue.

It comes with an advanced multi-turn dialogue system that allows seamless back-and-forth conversations without requiring repeated wake words. The assistant can be interrupted mid-sentence and still respond to the new query naturally. It’s backed by a large language model Q&A engine that can generate complex answers, help create travel plans, write content, or provide translations and scientific explanations.

The OnePlus 13T finally made its debut in China after weeks of rumors and teasers. It offers cutting edge features and a compact form factor, but one of its key highlights is its pricing. The Pixel a series is typically reserved for the brand’s mid range model that are more affordable than its flagship numbered lineup. One of the notable upgrades the Pixel 9a received over the Pixel 8a was the bump to a 5,100mAh battery. However, this still pales in comparison to the OnePlus latest smartphone. It also lags behind by a notable margin in the charging department with only 23W wired fast charging. However, you do get 7.5W wireless charging support.

4. Competitive Pricing

Google unveiled the Pixel 9a last month with a starting price tag of 499 US Dollars for the 8GB + 128GB offering. While the 8GB + 256GB variant costs 599 US Dollars. In comparison, the OnePlus 13T was just announced in China for a starting price tag of 3,399 Yuan or roughly about 446 US Dollars. This is for the 12GB + 256GB variant, so you’re easily getting a much better value. We can assume a slight price hike in the overseas market release but it would still be a great value for this price range.

Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U in China, following its initial reveal last week. This high-end gaming monitor is a major upgrade over its predecessor (Redmi Display G Pro 27 MiniLED), offering significant improvements in display quality, performance, and smart features.

The Redmi G Pro 27U features a 27-inch 4K UHD panel with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels and a pixel density of 157 ppi. It supports a 160Hz native refresh rate, with the potential to reach up to 320Hz, providing smooth visuals tailored for high-performance gaming. The display hits a peak brightness of 1600 nits and utilizes 1152 Mini LED zones paired with QD quantum dot technology for vibrant color reproduction.

Color accuracy is a strong focus, with the monitor covering 100% of the sRGB spectrum, 99% DCI-P3, and 99% Adobe RGB. It delivers a factory-calibrated ΔE<1 for professional-grade accuracy.

Internally, the monitor is powered by a Cortex-A73 quad-core processor and a G57 MC1 GPU. It includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, running on Xiaomi’s HyperOS. For audio, the monitor is equipped with dual 5W speakers.

Connectivity is robust. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 and includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DP 1.4 port with support for 8K@60Hz output, one USB 3.0 port, and one USB 2.0 port. The G Pro 27U also supports wireless casting via AirPlay and Miracast.

Physically, the monitor measures 613.3mm x 364.5mm x 65.9mm without the stand, and 613.3mm x 521.2mm x 227.3mm with the stand. It weighs 4.7kg and 6.8kg, respectively. Viewing angles are adjustable horizontally from -35° to +35° and vertically from -5° to +20°. A 75x75mm VESA mount is included for wall setup.

Pricing & availability

Xiaomi is offering a three-year warranty and a seven-day no-questions-asked return policy. The Redmi Monitor G Pro 27U is priced at CNY 2,699 (~$370), marking a 35% increase from last year’s G Pro 27, which launched at CNY 1,999 (~$274).

Global availability remains unconfirmed. The monitor has debuted alongside the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, which is the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor.

Redmi Turbo 4 Pro debuts with world’s first Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro in China, introducing a new phone built for performance and durability. What makes the smartphone special is the fact that it is the first phone with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC.

Redmi Turbo 4 Pro features

The Turbo 4 Pro features a 6.83-inch 1.5K LTPS flat display using M9 luminous material. The screen reaches up to 3200 nits of brightness and offers dual brightness calibration at 100 and 600 nits. It has narrow bezels on three sides (1.5mm) and a slightly thicker chin (1.9mm).

This is the first phone powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. It uses a 6000mm² dual-loop 3D ice cooling system and Xiaomi’s Rage Engine 4.0 to maintain stable performance during heavy use. The phone has a 7.98 mm-thick body with a metal frame made of aviation-grade aluminum alloy. CNC machining and sandblasting techniques give it a solid feel, and the body can handle up to 70kg of pressure. It comes with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, making it water- and dust-resistant even in tough environments.

The Redmi Turbo 4 Pro has a metal camera housing with a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. It also includes a light ring with adjustable brightness. The phone packs a 7550mAh battery and supports 90W wired charging along with 22.5W reverse charging. It includes Xiaomi’s offline positioning tech that works without GPS.

Xiaomi also revealed a special Redmi Turbo 4 Pro Harry Potter Edition. It comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The design includes a beveled camera area, 3D nanolithography, and Harry Potter-themed visuals. It comes with a custom black-and-gold Deathly Hallows gift box and a themed interface.

Pricing & availability

The Redmi Turbo 4 Pro starts at 2199 yuan for the 12GB + 256GB model and goes up to 2999 yuan for the 16GB + 1TB version. The Harry Potter Edition is priced at 2799 yuan. A global release is expected, possibly under the POCO F7 name in India. The base model currently includes a 200 yuan discount.

OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition key specifications, launch timeframe tipped

Several reports have claimed that OnePlus will unveil three smartphones in the second quarter of this year. Among these, the brand has already launched the OnePlus 13T today, and the remaining two Ace-branded smartphones will be equipped with the Dimensity 9400e and Dimensity 9400 Plus chipsets. Previous reports claimed that these devices would be called the Ace 5V and Ace 5S. However, a new leak by tipster Digital Chat Station reveals that the actual name of the Dimensity 9400e-powered device will be the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition.

According to DCS, the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition will sport a 6.77-inch LTPS OLED display with a flat design. Under the hood, it may house the yet-to-be-announced Dimensity 9400e processor, which is rumoured to be a tweaked version of the Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset.

For selfies, the device is likely to come with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, while the rear setup could include a 50-megapixel main sensor paired with a 2-megapixel secondary lens. Additional details from the leak point to an optical fingerprint scanner embedded within the screen and the use of a plastic frame in its construction.

As per previous reports, the Ace 5 Racing Edition will feature a massive 7,000mAh battery. As far as the chipset is concerned, recent reports have revealed that the Dimensity 9400e may offer better performance than the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. Hence, it is expected to rival the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro and the iQOO Z10 Turbo, which feature the said Snapdragon chipset.

OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition launch timeframe
