Hisense’s $110K Behemoth: The 163-Inch MicroLED TV Arrives

Hisense has opened pre-orders in China for its 163-inch UX MicroLED TV, priced at 799,999 yuan (~$110,372), after showcasing the model at CES 2025. Despite its massive screen size, the TV has a borderless design that measures 24mm thick, which Hisense claims is the slimmest profile for a MicroLED TV.

The display uses 24.88 million MicroLED crystal cores to achieve a peak brightness of 10,000 nits—a figure exceeding typical OLED capabilities—with reduced risk of screen burn-in. It supports a 3,840Hz refresh rate, covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and includes Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, and HDR formats. Gaming features include HDMI 2.1 ports (4K@120Hz), VRR, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

The UX MicroLED TV has a dual-core architecture for simultaneous light and color control. Other features onboard the TV include a Devialet 6.2.2-channel sound system with Dolby Atmos and DTS: Virtual X, as well as split-screen viewing and audio. Its availability in other markets has not been confirmed.

In other news, Hisense’s 2025 U7 Series MiniLED TVs are launching in the U.S. on April 15 and in Europe from May 15, targeting gamers and sports fans, just ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. These TVs will be available in sizes ranging from 55-inches to 116-inches and include features like 165Hz refresh rate, Hi-View AI Engine PRO, Quantum Dot Color, and support for Dolby Vision, IMAX Enhanced, and Pantone validation.

New OnePlus 13 Update Promises Security Fixes—But Users Flag New Issues

OnePlus has begun a phased rollout of OxygenOS 15.0.0.703 for the OnePlus 13 in India (CPH2649_15.0.0.703(EX01)), with global expansion pending. The update introduces security upgrades, system improvements, and the March 2025 Android security patch.

OnePlus 13

The update includes several changes in security and system functions. Users will now be prompted to link their privacy password to their OnePlus account. This allows password reset through the account if the privacy password is forgotten, providing a way to regain access to private data. The March 2025 Android security patch is also included.

System improvements cover better text translation for Breeno Touch, along with updates aimed at system stability and performance.

User feedback on the OnePlus Community forum has been divided. While some acknowledge the update’s intent, multiple battery life concerns have emerged. Several users reported screen-on time (SOT) dropping to 4–6 hours, with one stating, “Battery is why I upgraded, but backup is unsatisfactory.” Others noted increased drain compared to prior versions.

Touchscreen responsiveness issues were also mentioned, including delayed inputs and accidental double taps. A user highlighted screen flickering when switching from apps like WhatsApp, asking, “Are there steps to fix this?” Some observed unintended UI changes, such as adjusted font sizes and misaligned widgets.

OnePlus encourages users to report issues via the “Bug Report” section in the OnePlus Community App or by dialing *#800#. The company reiterated the update’s incremental rollout, asking for patience as broader deployment begins “in a few days.” OnePlus has not yet issued an official response to the battery or display concerns. Indian users are the first to receive the build, with global availability dependent on stability assessments.

TCL Q9L Pro QD-Mini LED TV Specifications

The headline feature? TCL’s custom Butterfly Star Screen, which combines HVA panel tech with a dual-layer anti-reflective film that cuts screen glare down to just 0.5%. That’s paired with TCL’s Omni-Zone local dimming system, starting at 720 zones on the 55-inch model and scaling up to a whopping 3456 zones on the 98-inch version. Peak brightness also climbs with size, from 3000 nits on the smallest set to 4500 nits on the flagship. TCL is also touting an industry-leading static contrast ratio of 7000:1, helping deliver deeper blacks and sharper detail, especially in darker scenes.

Color gets a big upgrade too. The Q9L Pro series features TCL’s latest Quantum Dot Pro technology, delivering 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, enhanced further by XDR brightness and a claimed 100,000-hour lifespan without any noticeable color degradation. Under the hood, all models are powered by a 12nm quad-core A73 processor paired with a Mali-G57 MC1 GPU, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. They all support native 4K resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate, which can be pushed up to 288Hz for smoother visuals during fast-paced gaming or action scenes.

TCL Q9L Pro QD-Mini LED TV

For gamers, the Q9L Pro is stacked: four full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports, MEMC motion smoothing, ALLM, FreeSync Premium Pro, and support for refresh rates up to 240Hz. It even includes legacy ports like AV and antenna inputs for older devices.

From 65 inches and up, TCL adds a full-blown Onkyo 2.1.2-channel sound system with Dolby Atmos, complete with up-firing speakers and a dedicated subwoofer. The whole thing runs on TCL’s ad-free Lingxi OS 3.0 with smart features powered by its Fuxi AI model for voice control, personalization, and upscaling tech that makes 2K content look nearly 4K.

Pricing and Availability

The pricing is aggressive: 4,299 yuan (approximately $590) for the 55-inch model, 5,999 yuan (around $825) for the 65-inch, 7,499 yuan (about $1,030) for the 75-inch, 9,999 yuan (roughly $1,375) for the 85-inch, and 16,999 yuan (close to $2,340) for the massive 98-inch version. TCL is even throwing in a free wall mount and installation if you jump in early.

The company has also introduced the TCL T7L Mini LED TV series, featuring 144Hz 4K displays, 2200 nits of peak brightness, and Dolby Vision support for gaming, alongside the new Z100 soundbar—a modular, room-aware audio system built for Dolby Atmos.

Galaxy S23 launcher crashing after One UI 7 Beta 2 update: here’s why and how to avoid it

Samsung’s Galaxy S23 users diving into the One UI 7 Beta 2 are hitting a frustrating issue: the home launcher keeps crashing. While the latest beta, part of the flagship’s new testing phase, packs welcome upgrades, a pesky bug tied to Google’s Gemini assistant is souring the experience for some.

One UI 7 Beta 2 rolled out recently for the S23 series, touting fixes and enhancements like full Drawing Assist, natural language search, and Now Bar tweaks—polishing the Android 15-based update for a smoother user experience. But for several S23 owners, it’s been anything but smooth.

Gemini Live mode seems to be the culprit

The culprit? Gemini Live mode, pre-installed on recent Galaxy devices, powers the Google Assistant with the long-press power key. Things work fine while Gemini Live stays on-screen, overlaying the home interface with live notifications in the status bar.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Gemini

The system UI crashes when it’s sent to the background. The One UI launcher freezes up—apps open with a tap, but gestures like swiping no longer function in that situation. Lock the phone, unlock it, and it returns to the same state. Soon enough, a “System UI isn’t responding” alert pops up, offering two choices: “Close app” to reboot the launcher (ditching all open apps) or “Wait,” which just stalls until the crash message loops again.

Touch works, but the frozen gestures and inevitable crash make it a chore. Daily drivers of the S23 series who are yet to install the Beta 2 update, are advised to wait for the next version as this one can be quite frustrating at times. Those who have already installed the update are currently stuck picking between a forced restart or “Wait”, hoping the third beta fixes the issue. For now, avoiding Gemini Live mode seems to be the only workaround.

Samsung failed to keep its promise with Galaxy A55’s One UI 7 update

Samsung promised a March rollout for the Android 15-based One UI 7 Beta on the Galaxy A55, but with April looming just minutes away, users are still empty-handed. As the only non-flagship device slated for the Beta Program, the A55’s update delay is raising questions about the company’s update policy.

While the Galaxy A55 is yet to receive the beta update, several Galaxy S and Z series devices are also currently stuck with it, and most of them are “expected” to receive the stable update starting in April. Some of them include the Galaxy S24, S23, S22 series, 6th and 5th generation foldables, and the Galaxy Tab S10, S19, and S8 series. According to the company, the stable rollout will begin starting April 7.

Galaxy A55 has yet to receive Android 15 beta

Moving back to the Galaxy A55, the One UI 7 beta rollout will be the first major OS upgrade. Unfortunately, the South Korean giant failed to keep its promise of rolling out the update within March. Despite Samsung’s Indian subsidiary teasing preparations via a Members Community noticeboard, the timeline’s slipping. And judging from the number and variety of more expensive models waiting for a stable rollout, the A55 users may have to wait till the second half of April for the update.

The recent global launch of the Galaxy A26, A36, and A56—all shipping with Android 15 and One UI 7.0 out of the box—only underscores the A55’s odd limbo. If the beta does drop soon, its testing window might be squeezed short.

Samsung clearly wants the A55 to receive Android 15 soon, but the long list of flagships that are yet to receive the update is likely causing this delay. According to Samsung, One UI 7 is built from scratch, which is why the rollout is delayed this year. The Galaxy A55 still has some time before receiving the stable Android 15 update. In the meantime, users can check out the new features here.

Nintendo Switch 2: What to Expect from Gaming World’s Most Anticipated Console

The original Nintendo Switch is one of the best selling consoles of all time. After the company officially teased the next gen model, fans have been eagerly anticipating its successor. Keeping up with all the leaks and rumors can get a bit difficult, so here’s a complete rumor roundup of the Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo Switch 2
Nintendo Switch 2

1. Nintendo Switch 2: Hardware & Gaming Performance Upgrades

Even at launch, the Nintendo Switch launched with underpowered hardware. But Nintendo’s exclusive titles like The Legend of Zelda series got impressive optimization, bringing some of the best art styles in video games despite being limited in terms of hardware. But with the Nintendo Switch 2, the upgrades to the internals will help give games extra room to breathe.

Based on our previous reports, the upcoming gaming handheld will feature a new customer Nvidia Tegra chipset, which could potentially match the performance of the Xbox One or PlayStation 4. This would allow for gaming at a higher resolution, more detailed textures, and the use of more advanced lighting effects. The gameplay experience also becomes smoother and the higher RAM and storage capacity is another great boon to gamers.

2. Display and Form Factor

Another area where the Nintendo Switch 2 makes a notable improvement is the display. It is unclear if the display is being upgraded to an OLED panel but the screen size is getting bumped to 8-inch (6.2-inch on the original). The resolution is also getting upgrade from 720p to 1080p. The removable JoyCon controllers were a major selling point of the original Switch and these controllers are returning with the successor.

That’s not all, these are becoming better as well with a more intuitive sliding rail system with a magnetic connection. The announcement teaser trailer has even revealed an adjustable kickstand. We can also expect Nintendo to continue the hybrid design allowing for both docked and handheld gaming.

3. Backward Compatibility and Game Library

A crucial factor for many first gen Switch owners is backwards compatibility. Nintendo has a history of supporting its previous libraries, and it’s widely expected that the Switch 2 will continue this trend. So users can still play their Switch games via both digital and physical copies. Some of the older titles are also rumored to get some enhancements as well to take advantage of the Switch 2’s better hardware. But most importantly, the console will most likely be getting its own lineup of exclusive games.

4. Release Window and Pricing

Nintendo has yet to reveal an official launch window for the Switch 2, but it will unveil the console during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. This event is set to take place on 2nd April 2025 at 6 PM PST. Recent leaks have suggested that the new handheld gaming console could be priced between $399 and $499 owing to upgraded hardware and other factors. So it is about $100 to $200 more expensive than the first iteration.

World’s slimmest foldable phone fails to survive bent test

Oppo has launched the Find N5 as the world’s slimmest book-style foldable phone, which previously demonstrated impressive structural rigidity in the company’s tests. Now famous YouTube creator Zack Nelson (aka JerryRigEverything) puts the phone through his signature durability test.

Oppo Find N5

The aluminum middle frame, glass-protected outer display, and soft inner display handle the scratch test just as you’d expect: the inner screen starts scratching at level 2 of the Mohs scale of hardness while the outer display starts scratching at level 6.

Find N5’s inner display was completely damaged when bent vertically

Things took a turn for the worse during the bend test. As he covered the hinge with dust, some particles got inside—unsurprising, given that the hinge is water-resistant but not dustproof. He also covered the display with a significant amount of it and folded the phone.

Dust particles that entered through the hinge led to two lines of dead pixels on the inner display as he bent the phone horizontally while folded. Notably, the OnePlus Open survived this test. The foldable display of the Find N5 was completely damaged when bent vertically with the hinge unfolded.

Is it due to the slim form factor of the phone? After all, a thicker middle frame made from the same material technically offers higher structural rigidity and hence may prevent the damages shown in the video. So, while the company has showcased the hinge supporting as high as 50 kg without any damage to the folding mechanism or to the display, the pressure was applied on a specific part of the phone from a specific direction in a controlled environment, which might not be the case when it comes to real world usage.

Nonetheless, the hinge is strong enough to withstand most accidents, and the reduced crease is noticeably less visible than its predecessor—something the company deserves praise for.

Galaxy Tab S10 FE and FE+ specs and features

The FE packs a 10.9-inch LCD, while the FE+ rocks a much larger 13.1-inch panel—both 90Hz, 800 nits, and S Pen-ready, paired with Dolby Atmos stereo speakers. Both the devices are powered by the Exynos 1580, a mid-range chip with 45% better CPU and 80% better GPU performance than the Tab S9 FE’s Exynos 1380.

You get 8GB or 12GB RAM, up to 2TB microSD support, a 12MP ultrawide front camera, and a 13MP rear shooter. Batteries are 8,000 mAh (FE) and 10,900 mAh (FE+), which charge at 45W. Unfortunately, the charger is not included with the box, just a USB-C cable and S Pen. Running Android 15 with One UI 7, the tablets are eligible for six years of updates. Overall, the combination of specs and pricing is perfect for anyone craving a good enough Galaxy tablet.

Pricing and availability:

At Bol, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE starts at €579 for 128GB and €629 for 256GB, while the FE+ goes for €749 and €799 for the same storage tiers—all Wi-Fi-only models. A €50 discount sweetens the deal on the 256GB variants until April 20, after which the prices will be bumped up to €679 and €849. Available in light blue, silver, and gray, they sport a sleek aluminum build with IP68 water and dust resistance. Sales will start on April 3 in the home country, with more markets likely soon.
