Vivo V50 with Zeiss cameras could be arriving soon: Bags SIRIM certification

The Vivo V50 has just been spotted in another certification platform. The brand’s upcoming premium mid-range phone made its way to Malaysia’s SIRIM, which could hint at its imminent release. So here’s everything that was revealed.

Vivo V50 Visits SIRIM: Launch Seems Imminent

The Chinese brand’s upcoming Vivo V50 was spotted on the SIRIM database carrying the V2427 model number. Before this, this upcoming device has already been sighted in various other certification, so its official announcement could be right around the corner. Apart from confirming its global launch and Malaysian availability, finer details regarding this device are still unclear. Although some of our older reports does confirm more details.

Vivo V50
Vivo V50 as spotted on Taiwan’s NCC certification

The Vivo V40 was certified in EEC (Europe), BIS (India), TDRA (UAE), and NBTC (Thailand). It even visited Taiwan’s NCC< which revealed its design and some of its key specs. The device appears to have a similar pill shaped camera module as its predecessor along with a Zeiss branding for the camera setup. In other words, it is a true successor to the Vivo V40 series and the Zeiss collaboration in the previous model wasn’t a one-off deal.

The Vivo V50 is rumored to be a rebranded version of the Vivo S20 but with a smaller battery and thinner design. The NCC certification confirmed two storage configurations as well, namely 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage. A massive 6,000mAh battery pack would power this device, which supports 90W wired fast charging. Other notable features include Android 15 OS based FuntouchOS 15, WiFi 6, Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra appears in real-life image for the first time

Xiaomi’s 15 series launched in China last year sporting the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. While its global release is still up in the air, the Chinese tech giant is preparing to add an Ultra model to the lineup.

Reports suggest Xiaomi will launch the 15 Ultra simultaneously in Chinese and global markets, likely alongside the regular Xiaomi 15 for global audiences. With the launch expected next month, a real-life image of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra has already surfaced on X (formerly Twitter).

Xiaomi 15 Ultra real-life image

Posted by the user Kartikey Singh, the 15 Ultra unsurprisingly looks different from the rest of the 15 series. It ditches the square camera module for Xiaomi’s iconic circular design.

The leaked image reveals a triple-camera layout within the circular module. The primary sensor is likely a massive 1-inch 50MP shooter, accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide sensor and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom capability.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra real-life image

According to previous reports, nestled above these three sensors is the LEICA branding on the left, while a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with macro capability and 4.3x zoom sits on the right. An LED flash completes the camera setup at the top.

The leaked image shows a red accented outer ring for the camera module contrasting with a black vegan leather rear panel. Rumors suggest Xiaomi might also offer glass or ceramic back panel options in the 15 Ultra.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra renders black

Interestingly, there are some discrepancies between this leaked image and earlier CAD-based renders. The LEICA branding appears vertical in the leaked image, whereas the renders showed it horizontally positioned. Additionally, the renders depicted a dual rear flash setup, while the leaked image suggests a single LED flash.

What to expect

According to reports, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will come equipped with a 6.73-inch AMOLED panel that features a micro-quad-curved design. It will offer a 2K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor. The device will run on HyperOS 2-based Android 15.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and a 6,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support. The 15 Ultra is expected to arrive with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

For selfies, it is expected to feature a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera setup of the device will have a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-900 primary camera with OIS support, a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 ultra-wide snapper, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX858 telephoto camera, and a 200-megapixel Samsung HP9 periscope telephoto camera with support for up to 100x AI-driven hybrid zoom.

End of an Era: Sony to stop production of recordable media like Blu-ray Discs

Sony has announced the complete discontinuation of its recordable media production by February 2025. This marks the end of an era for Blu-ray Discs, MiniDiscs, and MiniDV cassettes. The decision, confirmed in January 2025, is attributed to the declining demand for physical media as digital solutions dominate the market.

Which products are affected?

The discontinuation includes Blu-ray recordable formats such as BD-RE and BD-R across 11 models. MiniDiscs for audio recording, MD data storage media like the “MDW80T” and “MMD-140B,” and MiniDV cassettes, including the 70-minute version and multi-packs, will also no longer be produced. While existing stock remains available at Sony stores, no replacement products will be launched.

Reasons for Discontinuation

Sony cited a shift toward video streaming services, cloud storage solutions, and other digital technologies as the primary reasons for the production halt. The company acknowledged the evolving market landscape, where physical media is increasingly being replaced by digital alternatives.

The decision was first hinted at in July 2024, when Sony announced plans to phase out its storage media business. By January 2025, the company confirmed the complete halt, expressing gratitude to customers for their years of support.

Implications for the industry

Sony’s decision shows the rapid decline of physical media in a digital-first world. While enthusiasts and preservationists may lament the loss of these formats, the move aligns with industry trends favoring digital distribution. Sony’s statement emphasized its gratitude, stating, “There will be no successor models.”

Sony was instrumental in popularizing Blu-ray technology, especially with the PlayStation 3’s role as an affordable Blu-ray player. This announcement signifies the end of a significant chapter in the history of physical storage formats, highlighting the industry’s ongoing transition to digital media.

Xiaomi recalls 30,000 SU7 electric sedans due to faulty autonomous parking system

Xiaomi has announced that it’s recalling 30,931 SU7 electric sedans in China due to a software issue affecting the car’s autonomous parking system. The company is rolling out a free over-the-air (OTA) update to address the problem, eliminating the need for owners to visit a service center.

The issue stems from a bug that can cause the autonomous parking system to malfunction. According to Xiaomi, the problem arose on November 14, 2024, when a customer reported that their SU7 experienced unexpected behavior during the autonomous parking process. The car’s detection system was compromised, leading to scratches and collisions during the parking maneuver.

Xiaomi SU7 Recall Details

The recall specifically targets 30,931 units of the SU7 Standard variant manufactured between February 6, 2024, and November 26, 2024. Vehicles with internal numbers BJ7000MBEVR2, XMA7000MBEVR2, and XMA7000MBEVR5 are included in this recall.

Xiaomi SU7

Xiaomi traced the cause of the malfunction to a timing synchronization issue within the cloud service that supports the autonomous parking system. The company has implemented corrective measures on the cloud side and added additional safeguards to the smart parking assistance system itself. These steps, according to Xiaomi, effectively eliminate the risk of the issue recurring.

Convenient OTA Update for SU7 Owners

Following two months of testing and verification to ensure the solution’s effectiveness, Xiaomi is rolling out a software update via OTA. This means SU7 owners can get their vehicles fixed without the hassle of scheduling service appointments or visiting a service center. They will be notified about the update and can easily install it over the air through their car’s built-in internet connection.

Honor Magic 7 Pro Review: This is Honor’s Best Phone yet

Among all the flagship models released lately, the Honor Magic 7 Pro is our most anticipated phone. The Chinese version hit the market back in November, but let’s be real—everyone’s been waiting for the global launch. So once the global Magic 7 Pro arrived in the studio, we just couldn’t wait diving into the Honor flagship. The big question on everyone’s mind is: Can this flagship phone really justify its price tag? Let’s break it down.

Design:

The Honor Magic 7 Pro is starting to show some serious continuity in design, just like other top Chinese smartphones. But they’ve really stepped it up with the details.

For example, the metal ring around the camera module is way smaller, making the transition from the camera to the rest of the phone super smooth. It gives the back a more integrated look, and it’s sleek and modern from every angle.

We’ve got the Breeze Blue version here, which is a super fresh and light blue. It just screams peace and elegance. But if blue isn’t your thing, there are other options like Black, White, and Lunar Shadow Grey. The latter has that cool water flow texture we’ve seen before.

On the front, the Magic 7 Pro still packs a 6.8-inch quad curved floating screen. Visually, the bezels are super narrow, and the whole thing feels really rounded. Now, Honor knows a lot of folks aren’t fans of curved screens, so they’ve kept the curvature super subtle. It gives you that curved-screen feel without losing the flat-screen look.

Performance:

When it comes to performance, let’s cut to the chase. Even the base model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is more than enough for most people. It holds its own in Geekbench 6 tests.

And in games like “Honkai: Star Rail,” even in the most intense scenes, the frame rates stay solid.

Touch response speed is also crucial for gaming, and the Magic 7 Pro doesn’t disappoint. You can see it in the camera playback—it’s super quick. So yeah, performance-wise, you’ve got nothing to worry about.

Audio-Visual Experience:

Screen:

Let’s talk about the screen. It’s a 20:9, 6.8-inch full equal-depth micro-curved screen from Visionox, a top-notch screen manufacturer.

It’s got a 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, which means it adjusts the refresh rate based on what you’re doing, giving you smooth visuals and saving battery life.

The pixel density is a whopping 453PPI, and the screen-to-body ratio is 92.96%. The picture is just crystal clear. Plus, the screen has an HDR peak brightness of 5000 nits and a global peak brightness of 1600 nits.

Honor also added some cool eye-care features. At super low brightness, the screen switches to a 4320Hz PWM dimming mode. That’s way more comfortable than the low-frequency PWM dimming you get on iPhones. If you’re sensitive to screen flicker, the Magic 7 Pro might just be your new best friend.

Speakers:

But here’s what really blew me away: the speakers. Chinese teardowns show this phone’s got two big speakers inside.

With some fancy bass enhancement algorithms and sound compensation, the audio is powerful and balanced. When you’re listening to music or watching videos, the sound is loud, deep, and the bass is just killer.

Imaging:

Now, let’s talk cameras. The Magic 7 Pro has a 50MP wide-angle camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 200MP ultra-high-definition telephoto camera.

The wide-angle camera uses a 1/1.3-inch sensor and supports variable aperture, which is awesome for low-light shots.

The ultra-wide-angle camera has a 122° field of view and can do macro shots as close as 2.5cm. The 200MP telephoto camera supports 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. That’s like having a 72-2400mm lens!

And let me tell you, I’ve been using that telephoto camera a lot. For example, at 3x zoom, the image quality is outstanding. The colors are vibrant, the textures are detailed, and the background is clear and natural.

Even at 6x zoom, the details are super sharp. You can see the texture of a pigeon’s feathers and the details of its feet. The colors are natural, and the depth of field effect really makes the subject pop. The exposure and white balance are spot-on, and there’s no noticeable noise. Even at night, the camera holds up.

But I’d say stick to zoom levels below 30x; otherwise, the image quality drops. However, if you turn on AI Super Zoom, you’ll be amazed. After a bit of processing, the image quality is just as good as 3x or 6x. You can even preview the before-and-after in the gallery in real-time. It’s seriously impressive.

Battery Life/Charging:

Charging:

This phone packs a 5850mAh battery, which is Honor’s 3rd Gen Silicon Carbon Battery. It supports up to 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging, but you’ll need the official Honor SuperCharge brick.

Unfortunately, the charger isn’t included in the box, so you’ll have to buy it separately. Just make sure your voltage is between 200-240V; otherwise, you’ll max out at 66W. We tested it with a PPS-compatible charger, and here are the results.

Others:

This phone supports USB 3.2 Gen1, which means it can transfer data at 5Gbps.

In our tests, copying a 19.8GB video file took just 47 seconds at a speed of 431MB/s. It also supports DisplayPort 1.2, so you can hook it up to an external 4K 60Hz monitor and use it in Desktop Mode.

The Magic 7 Pro also has two super convenient features: ultrasonic fingerprint unlocking and 3D face recognition. If you’ve ever used a regular optical face unlock phone, you know that flash can be annoying in the dark. But this phone, with its 3D face solution, doesn’t have that problem.

It runs on MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15, and gets monthly security updates. We don’t have official info on how many years of OS updates it’ll get, but based on recent trends, the Magic 7 Pro should get at least three major Android upgrades and five years of security patches.

Summary:

So, what’s the verdict? The Honor Magic 7 Pro is a seriously powerful flagship phone. The only downside is that it doesn’t come with a charger.

But other than that, it’s hard to find any flaws. It’s got the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset for performance, a high-dynamic-range screen that’s also friendly for eyes, and it supports IP68/IP69, infrared remote control, NFC, ultrasonic fingerprint, 3D face recognition, symmetrical dual speakers, and Type-C video output. This is one seriously stacked device.

Comparing Redmi 14C 5G and Oppo A3x 5G: Which should you buy ?

Choosing the right budget 5G smartphone can be overwhelming, especially with options like the Redmi 14C 5G and Oppo A3x 5G offering impressive features at competitive prices. Both phones cater to users seeking value for money while balancing performance, durability, and usability. This comparison dives into their key differences, helping you decide which one fits your needs better. With advancements like fast charging, upgraded cameras, and reliable chipsets, understanding what each device offers can make all the difference in your buying decision.

1. Design and Display

Redmi 14C
Redmi 14C

The Redmi 14C 5G and Oppo A3x 5G both offer splash and dust resistance, but Oppo takes it a step further with an IP54 rating and MIL-STD-810H compliance for better durability. The Redmi 14C features a slightly larger 6.88-inch IPS LCD display, while the Oppo A3x has a 6.67-inch IPS LCD. Both displays support a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, but the Oppo A3x has a higher brightness of up to 1000 nits, making it more suitable for outdoor use. Redmi’s design feels premium with its vibrant color options, while Oppo adds an extra touch of ruggedness.

The Oppo A3x edges out in terms of durability and brightness, making it a more reliable choice for rough usage, while Redmi 14C offers a larger screen for immersive viewing.

2. Specifications

OPPO A3x
OPPO A3x

The Redmi 14C is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (4nm), offering better efficiency and performance than the Oppo A3x’s MediaTek Dimensity 6300 (6nm). Redmi also provides UFS 2.2 storage for faster app loading, compared to Oppo’s slower eMMC 5.1. The Oppo A3x, however, has faster 45W charging, reaching 50% in just 30 minutes, whereas Redmi sticks to 18W. Both phones have ample battery capacities, with Redmi leading slightly at 5160mAh versus Oppo’s 5100mAh.

Redmi 14C is the better performer in everyday tasks, but if quick charging is a priority, Oppo A3x might be the better pick.

3. Camera

Redmi 14C
Redmi 14C

The Redmi 14C features a superior 50MP rear camera with PDAF for sharp photos, while the Oppo A3x settles for an 8MP primary shooter. On the selfie front, Redmi has an 8MP camera compared to Oppo’s 5MP, ensuring better detail in selfies. Oppo does offer 1080p@60fps video recording, which is missing on Redmi, adding a slight edge for smoother video quality.

For photography enthusiasts, Redmi 14C is the clear winner. Oppo A3x is suitable for basic photography but falls short in quality.

4. Pricing

The Redmi 14C starts at ₹9,999, while Oppo A3x is slightly cheaper at ₹8,999. The price difference reflects the upgrades Redmi offers in terms of camera, processor, and storage technology. However, Oppo’s competitive pricing combined with faster charging makes it appealing for budget-conscious buyers.

Redmi offers better value for its price, while Oppo A3x caters to users looking for affordability and quick-charging convenience.

5. Conclusion

OPPO A3x
OPPO A3x
  • Redmi 14C 5G: Superior 50MP camera, UFS 2.2 storage, and Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset make it a solid all-rounder.
  • Oppo A3x 5G: IP54 durability, faster 45W charging, and 1000-nit display brightness stand out.

Redmi is better suited for users prioritizing performance and camera quality, while Oppo excels in charging speed and rugged durability.

The F7 Ultra is expected to retain the specs of the K80 Pro. However, it could arrive in different finishes in terms of colors.

2. Most premium Poco phone to date

The Poco F7 Ultra will offer the best set of specs on a Poco smartphone to date. It will not only house the latest flagship chipset from Qualcomm but also arrive with other matching features.

The device will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. It will sport a 6.67-inch flat OLED display with a QHD+ resolution (3200 x 1440 pixels), a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1800 nits global peak brightness level in HBM (High Brightness Mode). The panel will support DC dimming, Dolby Vision, 2560Hz PWM dimming, 12-bit color depth, and 3200 nits local peak brightness level.

The touchscreen can be operated even while the surface is wet. Under the screen, the phone will use an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

Further, the handset will arrive with a triple camera system on the back and a 20MP front-facing shooter. The rear setup will consist of a 50MP Light Fusion 800 primary sensor, a 50MP 2.5x floating telephoto unit, and a 32MP ultrawide snapper.

On the software front, the device will boot HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. It will be IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.

Finally, it is expected to draw power from a 6,000mAh Silicon Carbon battery and carry support for 120W wired and 50W wireless charging standards.

3. Limited availability

The Poco F7 Ultra will not be available in all the regions where Poco has its presence. There’s just a single regional variant of the handset.

The phone is only expected to hit the shelves in select countries in Europe and Southeast Asia. This means it will not be sold in India.

Samsung finally adds “seamless updates” to its $1,000+ flagships

Samsung just launched the Galaxy S25 lineup which will receive 7 years of Android updates. Now it’s also confirmed that the phone supports Google‘s “Seamless updates”, a feature that reduces downtime during the completion of the update.

Galaxy S25 Ultra design and color options

Interestingly, the S25 series isn’t the first from Samsung to support this feature. Samsung offered this feature to Galaxy users with last year’s Galaxy A55. As Vlad from GSMArena noted, rolling out the feature to the A series first “was meant to test the waters”.

What is “seamless updates” and how does it work?

This Android feature allows your device to install a software update in the background while the phone remains functional. This process is also known as A/B system updates. It utilizes two separate system partitions (A and B), where the update is applied to the inactive partition (B) while the user continues using the active partition (A). After the installation is completed, the device can be simply restarted to switch to the updated partition (B).

So how much time it saves depends on the time it takes to apply the update to the inactive portion. Based on what we have previously seen with this feature, restarting the device takes only slightly longer than a normal reboot. And those who don’t have access to this feature yet can look for the ‘Install overnight’ or similar option if the downtime feels painful. Many custom skins at least have this feature.

In other aspects, the Galaxy S25 series packs the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a bunch of new AI features and only a few minor hardware upgrades such as a new 50MP ultrawide in the Ultra model that now supports 8K recording.

Oppo Find N5’s new images give glimpse of front display, reduced camera bulge

The Oppo Find N5 is slated to debut in February in China. Official teasers released by the brand have already provided a good idea of what to expect from the N5’s design. Now, a fresh set of images has appeared on Weibo, offering a glimpse of its front display and rear camera module.

Oppo Find N5’s new images reveal more details about its design

The new images showcase the thickness of the Oppo Find N5 in its folded state, which is said to be around 9.2mm. The company is touting it as the world’s slimmest foldable phone.

One of the images shows that the company has significantly reduced the camera bulge on the Find N5. The frosted right-angle middle frame has a pleasant texture. The side view image also reveals an alert slider on the left edge, while the right side features a volume rocker, and a power key integrated with a fingerprint sensor. On the front, it boasts a flat OLED panel.

There are two speakers on the top and bottom for stereo output. A microphone is seen on the bottom alongside the speaker, while the other half on the bottom has a USB-C port and a SIM slot, which is not visible because of the thumb placed on it.

The images of the OPPO Find N5 were leaked by automotive influencer Chen Zhen, who has a massive following of 9.638 million followers. He had previously leaked a video related to the Lynk & Co 900. Zhen was fined 5 million yuan for the leak ahead of the car’s official release. Although he has since deleted the Find N5 images he shared on Weibo, the leak caused a stir online. Some believe the images may have been borrowed from another blogger who had received a test unit under a confidentiality agreement, leading to the accidental leak.

There has been criticism of Zhen’s actions, with some arguing that it violates the confidentiality agreement, and calls for Oppo to enforce penalties as per the signed agreements. Some Weibo users have speculated that the leak could be a strategy to build hype, with suggestions that Oppo may have secretly collaborated with the influencer because of his huge fan base. Reports indicate that Oppo may have provided Zhen with the Find N5 device after the incident. Both Chen Zhen and OPPO have yet to comment on the matter.

Nvidia responds to concerns about RTX 5090 melting power connectors

Conversations around the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 are not only exciting but also fairly positive for the most part. But there’s at least one major concern floating around: the fear of power connectors melting, just like we saw with the RTX 4090. And given the $1,999 price tag, nobody wants to deal with a potential hardware failure again.

But Nvidia’s on it, reassuring fans that they’re doing everything they can to avoid a repeat of the issues from the 4090.

A quick recap: what went down with the RTX 4090

When the RTX 4090 hit the market in October 2022, some users started reporting overheating and even melting power connectors. At first, Nvidia pointed to user error, claiming that people were plugging the connectors in wrong. However, the experienced PC community couldn’t accept it so easily. So Nvidia took a closer look and made some changes.

Read more: https://www.tweaktown.com/news/89110/multiple-geforce-rtx-4090-cards-dead-melted-16-pin-power-connectors/index.html

They ended up redesigning the 12V-2×6 16-pin cable, making it more durable and adding shorter, more conductive pins to help with heat management. This fix definitely reduced the number of overheating incidents, but some 4090s still had issues, especially those with older cables. The original cables, designed for a 600-watt power draw, just weren’t cutting it for the demanding GPU.

But what about the RTX 5090?

Now, the RTX 5090 is about to drop on January 30, 2025, and it’s actually pulling even more power than the 4090—575 watts up from 450 watts of the previous generation. But Nvidia’s confident that the updated 12V-2×6 connector will be able to handle it. At a recent event, the company assured everyone that the new design is built to withstand the added power demand, so the risk of melting connectors should be a lot lower.

Some manufacturers aren’t just relying on Nvidia’s new connector, though. MSI, for example, has added yellow-tipped power adapters to their builds, which lets users see if the connector is securely plugged in—something that could help prevent the user errors that Nvidia has previously pointed to as the cause of connector issues.

While Nvidia’s tweaks and their partners’ innovations suggest they are taking the right steps to keep things safe, users may still consider upgrading their power supply before replacing their existing card with the RTX 5090.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 leak reveals up to 46% performance improvement

Nvidia’s upcoming GeForce RTX 5090 has been on the conversation for quite a while, and for good reason. A recent leak has given us a sneak peek at its performance, and it’s looking like a major upgrade over the RTX 4090. With up to 46% more power in synthetic benchmarks, this flagship GPU has already grabbed the attention.

geforce-rtx-5090

So, what do the benchmarks say?

Some 3D Mark scores for the RTX 5090 have spotted online, with quite impressive numbers. Check out the results:

  • 3D Mark Speed Way (1440p): 14,383
  • 3D Mark Steel Nomad (4K): 14,133
  • 3D Mark Port Royal (1440p): 36,673
  • 3D Mark Time Spy (1440p): 48,732
  • 3D Mark Time Spy Extreme (4K): 25,485
  • 3D Mark Fire Strike (1080p): 101,767
  • 3D Mark Fire Strike Extreme (1440p): 60,778
  • 3D Mark Fire Strike Ultra (4K): 33,114

These scores show that the RTX 5090 is roughly 30-46% faster than the RTX 4090, depending on the benchmark. Nvidia’s own gaming tests back this up, suggesting a 30% performance boost in raw gaming power. For instance, in Cyberpunk 2077—a notoriously demanding game—the RTX 5090 needs DLSS to hit playable frame rates with Path Tracing enabled. This means we’re looking at some serious muscle under the hood.

As far as these benchmarks are concerned, the RTX 5090 is going to be a beast. Sure, synthetic benchmarks don’t always tell the full story, as performance can vary depending on your CPU, RAM, and game optimizations. But one thing is for sure—this card is set to be the king of desktop GPUs for quite a while.

And don’t expect AMD or Intel to dethrone it anytime soon. AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT and even its upcoming RDNA-based GPUs are unlikely to match the sheer power of Nvidia’s Blackwell flagship. Intel’s Battlemage and Celestial series? Same story.

Should you care?

Absolutely. The RTX 5090 will easily be the fastest graphics card money can buy for the foreseeable future. Of course, we’ll have to wait for real-world testing to see how it handles in different games and workloads, but if the leaks are accurate, this GPU is going to set new standards. For users looking for nothing but the best, it’s hard to imagine a better choice. For more daily updates, please visit our News Section.

Vivo’s Galaxy S25 Edge lookalike spotted on certification site with 5380mAh battery

Vivo launched the budget-oriented  Y03 smartphone in March 2024, so it’s about time to expect a successor. In line with this, the upcoming smartphone has been spotted on multiple certification sites, including TRDA, CQC, and NCC, revealing real-life images of the device along with some specifications.

Vivo Y04 TRDA and CQC certification

The Vivo Y04 has been listed on the TDRA certification website under the model number V2430. While the listing itself doesn’t reveal much in terms of features, it does confirm the phone’s moniker and suggests a launch in the UAE.

Another certification website, CQC, sheds some light on the Y04’s charging capabilities. The listing reveals support for 15W fast charging, in line with what we can expect in a budget smartphone.

Vivo Y04 NCC certification

The most revealing certification listing comes from NCC. Here, we get a glimpse of the Vivo Y04’s design in real-life images. The phone can be seen in two color options — a dark green variant with a matte finish and a purple variant sporting a glass back.

The camera department seems fairly basic, with a pill-shaped module housing two sensors and an accompanying ring light. Interestingly, the design looks eerily similar to Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge, which we got a sneak peek of just earlier this week. The volume and power buttons reside on the side of the phone.

The bottom of the phone houses a USB Type-C port alongside a headphone jack, while the top features a speaker grille. The SIM tray finds its spot on the left side. Up front, the Y04 boasts a flat display with a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera. Based on the NCC images, the phone’s width is around 80mm, and its length is roughly 170mm.

The NCC database also shows us the phone’s battery. It’s a Li-ion cell (model number BA61) with a rated capacity of 5380mAh and a typical capacity of 5500mAh.

The database also includes a power adapter (model number V1530L0B0-US) that supports 15W wired fast charging.
