Comparing Vivo S20 and S19: Which is Better?

Vivo S20 and Vivo S19 are mid-range smartphones packed with impressive features, catering to users seeking performance, style, and value. While both models share similarities like the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, dual rear cameras, and AMOLED displays, the S20 introduces key upgrades in battery, software, and display brightness. Conversely, the S19 offers a slightly larger screen and enhanced selfie flash. This comparison highlights their differences and standout features, helping you decide which device best suits your needs.

1. Design and Display

Vivo S20
Vivo S20

The Vivo S20 and S19 share similar design elements with slim profiles and IP64 ratings for dust and water resistance. However, the S20 refines the display technology, featuring a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a peak brightness of 5000 nits, ensuring superior visibility under sunlight compared to the S19’s 4500 nits. The S20 also boasts a slightly improved screen-to-body ratio at 90.2%, enhancing immersion, although the S19 offers a marginally larger 6.78-inch display.

Both devices support 120Hz refresh rates and vibrant 1B colors, making them excellent for media consumption. The S20’s enhanced brightness and compact form make it more suitable for outdoor users, while the S19’s larger screen might appeal to those prioritizing size over compactness. Overall, the Vivo S20 edges ahead with its more refined display brightness and proportions.

2. Specifications

Vivo S19
Vivo S19

The Vivo S20 is powered by Android 15 with OriginOS 5, while the S19 runs Android 14 with OriginOS 4, giving the S20 a future-ready edge in software. Both models are equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, an octa-core CPU, and Adreno 720 GPU, ensuring seamless performance for multitasking and gaming.

Battery performance sees an upgrade in the S20, featuring a 6500 mAh Si/C battery with 90W fast charging, compared to the S19’s 6000 mAh battery with 80W charging. The larger capacity and faster charging of the S20 make it a better choice for users seeking longer battery life and quicker top-ups. The absence of expandable storage persists in both, but the S20 retains its edge with consistently robust performance and battery reliability.

3. Camera

Vivo S20
Vivo S20

Both devices sport dual rear cameras: a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide. While the S19’s 50MP sensor is slightly larger (1/1.56″ vs. 1/1.55″), the difference in image quality is minimal. The S20 introduces better stabilization with 4K video recording and gyro-EIS, which complements its OIS feature for smoother footage.

On the front, both feature a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus, but the S19 includes a dual-LED flash, improving low-light selfies. The S20 provides brighter outdoor photos with its HDR mode, offering a more balanced exposure. Overall, the S20 stands out for videography, while the S19 slightly excels in low-light photography.

4. Pricing

The Vivo S20 is priced at approximately €300, undercutting the Vivo S19, which costs around €320. Despite the lower price, the S20 offers significant upgrades, including better battery capacity, display brightness, and software.

For budget-conscious users, the S20 presents a more value-for-money option. However, those seeking slightly better low-light camera performance and a larger screen might find the S19 a reasonable pick despite its higher cost.

5. Conclusion

Vivo S20

The Vivo S20 introduces several unique features, including an unprecedented peak display brightness of 5000 nits and the latest Android 15 out of the box. Its enhanced 90W charging technology and larger battery further position it as an excellent device for heavy users. The Vivo S19, on the other hand, offers a slightly larger screen and a dual-LED selfie flash, which remains absent in the S20.

The S20’s standout combination of superior performance, advanced software, and lower price makes it a better choice for most users. However, the S19’s features might appeal to niche users who prioritize display size and selfie lighting.

After Snapdragon-exclusive Galaxy S25 series, Samsung might return to Exynos with S26 lineup

While the Galaxy S25 series is yet to be officially announced, rumors are already circulating about the Galaxy S26 series. According to recent reports from a tipster on X (formerly Twitter), Samsung is planning to “significantly” equip the Galaxy S26 lineup with its in-house Exynos chips. It signals a potential return to the company’s long-standing strategy of using its own processors in flagship devices in most of the regions.

Exynos Chips and the Galaxy S26 Series

The move to bring Exynos chips back to Samsung’s flagship smartphones follows challenges that Samsung faced with the Exynos 2500, which was originally intended to power the Galaxy S25 series. However, due to production issues, particularly around yield rates for the 3nm architecture, it wasn’t economical for Samsung to mass produce the chip for the S25 series. As a result, the S25 lineup is expected to primarily feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, with Exynos 2500 reserved for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Flip FE models instead.

According to a recent report out of South Korea, Samsung has achieved some progress towards mass production with its 3nm process (for the Exynos 2500) and is also believed to achieve the same in time with the 2nm process for the Exynos 2600.

The history and strategy behind Exynos chips

Samsung’s decision to revisit Exynos chips with the S26 series makes sense from a business standpoint. In fact, the company has traditionally powered the majority of its devices with its own chips. However, the performance gap between Exynos and Snapdragon chips in previous years led to a mixed reception from consumers.

Samsung Exynos Chipset

For its Galaxy S23 series, Samsung made the decision to exclusively use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 after facing criticism over the dual-platform strategy. This move was well-received, with the Snapdragon variant of the Galaxy S23 outperforming the Exynos-powered version. However, Samsung returned to its dual-chip strategy with the Galaxy S24 series, using both Exynos and Snapdragon depending on the region.

The Exynos 2400, which powers the S24 series, has shown significant improvements and now competes more closely with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon counterparts in terms of performance. This development bodes well for the Exynos 2600, which is expected to reduce the performance gap even further. In addition to all of that, there’s still a significant portion of people who just prefer Exynos on their Galaxy regardless of the performance or power efficiency. Considering all of that, it won’t be surprising if Samsung “significantly” equips its future flagships with its in-house chips again.

Nothing Fold (1) Concept Render brings Glyph LED and a Slim Display to the Hinge

If you’ve kept up with Nothing‘s videos on their official YouTube channel, you’d know that Carl Pei isn’t exactly enthusiastic about making a foldable phone. But a fresh concept render has offered us a glimpse of what a Nothing Fold (1) might look like.

Nothing Fold
Nothing Fold (1) Concept

Nothing Foldable Envisioned with New Glyph Lighting & Hinge Display

Sarang Sheth, an industrial designer, created the latest concept renders. Some of his other work usually revolves around tech products such as Apple products like MacBooks with some changes in designs. But now, Sheth has created a foldable phone from Nothing, showcasing the unique spin the London based brand could bring to the foldable phone segment.

Right off the bat, we can see that the Nothing foldable phone is retaining its Glyph LED lighting on the back. However, this design now extends to the hinge as well. While companies put a lot of effort into improving the hinge mechanisms, these don’t add to the appeal of the design of a foldable phone. “Nothing Fold (1)” in this concept can be seen with a Glyph Light bar. In another render, there is even a slim display added to this hinge. The former seems more realistic and practical, while the latter is quite similar to the edge display from old Samsung flagships.

Nothing Fold
Nothing Fold (1) Concept with Hinge Display

Sarang took things a step further and even mentioned the cutting edge specifications of the Nothing Phone (1). This foldable phone includes the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC, which is paired with 16GB of RAM. The front has 32MP selfie shooter, while a large 5,500mAh battery pack powers this device. The fast charging rate is unclear, but the Fold (1) was conceptualized with support for 15W Qi2 wireless charging. The designer created this foldable phone with a £799 price tag, which is roughly around $1,018. This makes it quite affordable as well as the least realistic part of this concept.

The Best-Looking Motorola Phones You Can Buy

When it comes to smartphones, Motorola may not be the first name that springs to mind for design innovation. However, the company has quietly built a portfolio of stylish devices that stand out in their own ways.

Whether it’s a foldable form factor, a premium finish, or a minimalist design, Motorola has something to offer for those who care about aesthetics. Here’s a look at some of the best-looking Motorola phones available today.

Best looking Motorola phones

1. Motorola Razr 50 Ultra

The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra leads the charge for anyone seeking a modern yet nostalgic design. Inspired by the iconic Razr flip phone, this foldable device combines flagship-level specs with a premium, fashion-forward appearance.

Initially available in three Pantone-curated colors, Motorola recently added a new variant—the Mocha Mousse edition in Pantone’s Color of the Year 2025. This version features a soft inlay inspired by coffee grounds, wrapped in a vegan leather finish with an aluminum frame and a stainless steel hinge.

Its outer display is a 4-inch pOLED panel, the largest among current foldable, and offers a vibrant canvas for quick interactions and notifications. The phone’s hinge is nearly seamless when unfolded, giving it a polished look compared to competitors.

Inside, you’ll find a larger 6.9-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED display with 3000 nits of brightness and a smooth 165Hz refresh rate.

2. Motorola Edge 50

If foldables aren’t your thing, the Motorola Edge 50 might win you over with its understated elegance. Its slim profile, curved edges, and vegan leather finish make it one of the most visually pleasing devices in Motorola’s lineup.

The leather back is not just about aesthetics; it also provides better grip and durability compared to standard glass finishes. And it’s also the world’s slimmest phone to secure MIL-STD 810H certification. The device measures 7.79mm in thickness and weighs 181 grams.

The Edge 50’s 6.7-inch pOLED display with curved sides contributes to its sleek look. The display blends into the aluminum frame seamlessly, giving it a unibody feel that’s often missing in mid-range devices. You can choose from earthy tones like Koala Gray, Jungle Green, or a more vibrant option like Peach Fuzz.

3. Motorola Edge (2024)

The Motorola Edge (2024) is another mid-range offering from Motorola with a sophisticated design. It comes in a sole black vegan leather back, paired with an aluminum frame for a premium finish. While its design isn’t as daring as the Razr, it’s a phone that will easily blend into any professional setting.

What stands out is the Edge 2024’s display. It features a 6.6-inch OLED panel with HDR10+ and a 144Hz refresh rate. The nearly bezel-less design and curved edges give it a futuristic aesthetic without overcomplicating the overall look. For those who value subtlety, this phone strikes the perfect balance between modern design and functionality.

4. Motorola Moto G Stylus (2024)

Stylus support is rare even among premium smartphones, but the Moto G Stylus (2024) stands out by including a built-in stylus at an affordable price. By the looks, the phone is not flashy or overly ambitious, but its clean design, textured finish, and soft pastel color options give it a certain charm. It’s ideal for users who prefer simplicity without sacrificing functionality.

The inclusion of a stylus, neatly tucked into the phone’s body, adds to its utility and makes it stand out in the mid-range market. While its specs may not turn heads, the thoughtful design ensures it’s a phone you won’t mind showing off.

5. Motorola Edge 50 Fusion

For those who want their phone to be the centerpiece of every conversation, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is hard to ignore. It is available in subtle Forest Blue and Marshmallow Blue options, or a block Hot Pink shade.

Beyond its vibrant color, the Edge 30 Fusion offers a thin and lightweight build, with a curved body that feels premium in hand. The 6.7-inch pOLED display is bright and colorful, complementing the bold exterior. This edition is an excellent choice for anyone who’s tired of standard black or white phones and wants something truly different.

6. Why Motorola’s Design Stands Out

Motorola’s design philosophy strikes a balance between innovation and practicality. Unlike brands that often prioritize form over function, Motorola tends to focus on designs that are both visually appealing and user-friendly. This is evident in features like vegan leather backs for improved grip, foldable screens for enhanced portability, and unique colorways that cater to a variety of preferences.

Additionally, Motorola doesn’t shy away from experimenting. The Razr series, for instance, reimagines a classic flip phone for the modern era, while the Edge lineup brings flagship-level aesthetics to a wider audience. Even its budget-friendly Moto G series shows that affordable phones don’t have to compromise on design.

7. What to Consider When Choosing a Motorola Phone

While looks are important, they shouldn’t be your only consideration when picking a Motorola phone. Think about the following:

  • Build Materials: Phones like the Edge 50 with a vegan leather back are more resistant to fingerprints and scratches, but may not feel as premium as glass or metal.
  • Durability: Devices like the Razr 50 Ultra have moving parts, which may require extra care compared to non-foldable models.
  • Software Updates: Motorola’s track record with updates isn’t as robust as brands like Google or Samsung, so keep this in mind if you plan to use your phone for several years.
  • Performance: While aesthetics matter, you’ll also want a device that meets your performance needs, whether it’s gaming, photography, or productivity.

8. Final Thoughts

Motorola may not always grab the spotlight, but its focus on creating visually appealing and practical devices deserves recognition. From the nostalgia-inducing Razr 50 Ultra to the vibrant Edge 50 Fusion, there’s an option for everyone. So, whether you’re drawn to foldable, bold colors, or minimalist designs, there’s likely a Motorola phone that matches your taste.

Samsung is making a big shift in chip strategy for next generation flip phones

For the first time, Samsung may be shifting its chipset strategy for its foldable phones, moving away from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. According to a recent report from South Korea, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be powered by its in-house Exynos 2500 chipset, marking a significant change for the lineup.

The Exynos 2500 SoC and Its Implications for the Z Flip 7

Samsung has used Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets in all its foldable smartphones so far. The Exynos 2500, based on the 3nm architecture, was initially expected to power the Galaxy S25 series but faced production challenges. Samsung Foundry’s low yield rates for the 3nm process delayed its mass production for the flagship S25 series.

Samsung Exynos Chipset

However, according to recent reports, Samsung has managed to improve the yield rate. This stabilization will allow Samsung to debut the Exynos 2500 in its foldable lineup, beginning with the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

In addition to the standard Z Flip 7, the report hints at a potential Z Flip FE variant, which may feature the slightly lower Exynos 2400e chipset. This confirms previous rumors about Samsung offering multiple variants of its foldable devices next year, catering to different segments of the market. That said, it remains to be seen how the Exynos chips will stack up in real-world usage.

What about the Galaxy Z Fold 7?

Notably, the report does not mention any updates regarding the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung’s larger foldable device. The Z Fold series has also consistently relied on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets, and it remains unclear whether the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will continue this trend or see a shift to Exynos processors as well. The next-generation book-style foldable is still expected to equip a Qualcomm flagship chipset, possibly the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Alleged iQOO Z10 Turbo key specifications leak reveals Snapdragon 8s Elite chip, around 7,000mAh battery

Realme recently unveiled the Realme Neo 7, equipped with a massive 7,000mAh battery. It is speculated that a couple of other brands, such as iQOO, OnePlus, and Redmi, will also launch 7,000mAh battery phones in 2025. In a new Weibo post, tipster Digital Chat Station has mentioned an upcoming iQOO phone featuring a 7,000mAh battery. The device, possibly named iQOO Z10 Turbo, is expected to launch in 2025.

iQOO Z10 Turbo specifications (rumored)

According to the leak, a forthcoming iQOO smartphone will be powered by the yet-to-be-announced Qualcomm SM8735 chip. This chip is likely to be dubbed the Snapdragon 8s Elite. Considering that the iQOO Z9 Turbo featured the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, it is likely that the upcoming iQOO phone with Snapdragon 8s Elite could be the iQOO Z10 Turbo.

The leak further mentions that the Z10 Turbo will feature an OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate and have a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel main sensor. It will also support either 80W or 90W fast charging. The standout feature is the massive single-cell silicon battery, which exceeds 7000 mAh and promises exceptional battery life.

In comparison, the iQOO Z9 Turbo, released in April 2024, features a 6.78-inch flat OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a 50-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 6,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging. It launched with a starting price of 1999 Yuan (~$275), a pricing strategy that the Z10 Turbo might follow.

Interestingly, Redmi is also said to be working on the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Elite chipset. It is speculated that this device may get rebranded as the Poco F7 in the global market.

Smartphone needs for older adults are very different from other age groups. 1. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra 5G

Those willing to experience the best of Android should consider the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It has got a powerful Snapdragon chipset, one of the best camera setups on any smartphone, and a bigger battery that can last more than a day, with fast charging support for quick refills.

The best hardware also includes the most rigid Gorilla Glass protection on both sides (front and back) and an aluminum frame for a premium look and stronger durability. The S24 Ultra has a 6.8-inch bright display that’s greatly visible, even outdoors. And you can adjust the font size that’s easy to your eyes.

Another good reason that makes it a senior-friendly device is the S-pen support for better precision and accuracy. This is especially beneficial for people with reduced dexterity and hand tremors. Battery life is also great on this device, lasting up to two days on moderate usage. And the support for wireless charging makes the deal sweeter, as plugging the USB cable can be struggling for many.

While you won’t find a dedicated SOS button, the side button wakes the Bixby assistant, which can perform many essential actions, such as calling someone, sending a text, setting reminders, and controlling smart home devices.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra costs $999. Yes, that’s a big sum of money. However, there are some good, affordable options with a flagship experience, such as the Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy S23 Ultra.

2. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5

Galaxy Z Fold 5

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is an excellent book-style smartphone that offers a lot for the price tag of around $1,100. It has a 6.2-inch outer display, just like a regular smartphone, and when folded, you get a big 7.6-inch screen that’s very easy to navigate. It’s also great for content consumption or gaming.

The primary concern with having a foldable device is its durability, but Samsung has taken care of that. It features Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on both sides, and the armor aluminum frame is there for tougher protection against drops and scratches. It’s also IPX8 water resistant, by the way.

It delivers an excellent battery life, unlike many would expect from a book-style foldable phone. On moderate usage, it easily lasts for the entire day, with some percentage left for the next day.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 offers a smartphone as well as a tablet experience, but the additional hardware adds to the overall weight, which is 253 grams. So, it’s a heavyweight smartphone, which many could struggle with when holding for a longer period.

Overall, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is a solid deal, but you’ll have to pay a premium price. However, cheaper alternatives exist, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Motorola Razr+ (2024).

3. Samsung Galaxy A55

Samsung Galaxy A55 5G

It’s a surprisingly good mid-range phone that offers an excellent blend of hardware, software, and affordability. Its 6.6-inch vibrant AMOLED screen feels smooth and easy on the eyes, and the large touchscreen and well-organized interface make navigating smooth and effortless.

The Galaxy A55 is a step up from the A54, with an aluminum frame (vs. a plastic frame on the A54) and stronger Gorilla Glass protection on both sides. It also has an IP67 rating for protection against dust and water. The Exynos 1380 chipset ensures a lag-free experience for everyday tasks.

Call quality is another essential consideration for seniors, and the Galaxy A55 delivers flawlessly. The audio is crisp and clear, with minimal background noise, and its reliable connectivity ensures a pleasant communication experience. The battery backup is also great, lasting up to two days on normal usage, with 25W fast charging support.

You’ll also love taking photos on this Samsung phone as it produces vibrant and detailed photos in various lighting conditions. For $300, you won’t find a better camera phone than the Galaxy A55.

4. Samsung Galaxy A25

Samsung Galaxy A25 5G

The Galaxy A25 5G is pretty impressive, considering its ultra-affordable price tag. While the plastic frame and back panel will not impress you, it excels in many aspects, making it a viable option under $200.

The large 6.5-inch AMOLED screen refreshes at 120Hz. Overall, it’s a nice display, but the visibility could be better outdoors. It’s an excellent display, otherwise.

The Galaxy A25 is driven by the Exynos 1280 chip. Honestly, it’s not a high-performance chip, but good enough to smoothly handle social media, basic apps, and internet browsing. However, there may be occasional lags.

The camera performs well in good lighting conditions, but low-light performance isn’t impressive. But for the price, it’s a good camera setup. Another plus point of Galaxy A25 is the battery backup. With 5,000mAh capacity and 25W fast charging, it matches some flagship models like the Galaxy S24, easily lasting for a full day.

If you are looking for a more cheaper option, Galaxy A15 5G is there, featuring the same 6.5-inch AMOLED screen. It also has 50MP triple rear cameras (lacks OIS) and an impressive battery backup. The chipset is Dimensity 6100+, which handles basic tasks without any lag.

With a price difference of €90, choosing between the two depends on your budget and priorities. This comparison highlights the key differences to help you decide which model best suits your needs. Whether you value premium features or balanced affordability, there’s an option for everyone.

1. Design and Display

The Oppo Reno 13 and Reno 13 Pro both feature a sleek design with a glass front and back and aluminum alloy frames. They offer IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance, ensuring durability in challenging conditions. The Reno 13 Pro edges ahead with a slightly larger 6.83-inch AMOLED display compared to the Reno 13’s 6.59-inch screen. The Pro also boasts a higher screen-to-body ratio and HDR10+ support, enhancing the viewing experience with better contrast and color accuracy.

While both phones deliver 120Hz refresh rates and 1200 nits peak brightness, the Pro model’s HDR10+ and slightly larger display make it a superior choice for media consumption. However, for those who prefer a more compact design, the Reno 13 offers an equally vibrant experience with a slightly smaller screen.

Reno 13 Pro stands out for its immersive display, which is ideal for users who prioritize video streaming or gaming. However, the Reno 13 remains a strong contender for users seeking a balance between size and performance.

2. Specifications

OPPO Reno 13 Pro
OPPO Reno 13 Pro

Both models run on the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 (4nm) chipset with Android 15 and ColorOS 15, ensuring smooth performance. They share storage options, starting at 256GB with up to 1TB configurations, all using UFS 3.1 for fast data access.

The Reno 13 Pro boasts a larger 5800 mAh battery compared to the Reno 13’s 5600 mAh. The Pro also supports 50W wireless charging in addition to 80W wired charging, which the Reno 13 lacks. Both models feature reverse wired charging and versatile fast-charging options.

Reno 13 Pro’s enhanced battery life and wireless charging support make it a better choice for users who need versatility and extended usage, though the Reno 13 still provides a robust experience with slightly less convenience.

3. Camera

OPPO Reno 13 Pro
OPPO Reno 13 Pro

The Reno 13 offers a dual-camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor and 8MP ultrawide lens, while the Reno 13 Pro ups the ante with a triple-camera system. It includes a 50MP primary sensor with superior light-gathering capabilities, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide lens. Both models feature 50MP selfie cameras with autofocus and support for 4K video recording.

The Pro’s telephoto lens provides exceptional zoom capabilities, making it ideal for capturing distant subjects, while the Reno 13’s simpler setup excels in casual photography.

Reno 13 Pro’s upgraded camera system offers more versatility for photography enthusiasts, while the Reno 13 is better suited for everyday users who prioritize ease of use.

4. Pricing

The Reno 13 is priced at approximately €350, while the Reno 13 Pro costs about €440. The €90 price difference reflects the Pro model’s enhanced display, camera, and battery features. For budget-conscious buyers, the Reno 13 offers excellent value, but those willing to spend more gain significant upgrades.

Reno 13 Pro justifies its higher price with its premium features, making it the better choice for users seeking a flagship experience. The Reno 13, however, offers a balanced option without breaking the bank.

5. Conclusion

The Reno 13 Pro stands out for its wireless charging, HDR10+ display, and telephoto camera, which add significant value. The Reno 13, though lacking these premium features, impresses with its compact design and robust performance at a lower price.

While the Pro model is undeniably superior in features, the Reno 13 holds its own as a well-rounded device for users who don’t require cutting-edge specifications.

Comparing Vivo S20 and Vivo S20 Pro: Which One Should You Buy?

Vivo S20 and Vivo S20 Pro are two impressive smartphones catering to different user needs. Both models excel in design and display quality, but the S20 Pro brings significant upgrades in performance, camera versatility, and features, reflecting its higher price. Understanding these differences helps users decide whether the Pro’s premium features are worth the extra investment or if the S20 offers enough value for everyday needs. This comparison highlights the key distinctions, upgrades, and unique features to guide you toward the perfect choice for your lifestyle and budget.

1. Design and Display

Vivo S20 PRO
Vivo S20 Pro

Both the Vivo S20 and Vivo S20 Pro showcase premium builds with IP64 dust and water resistance, ensuring durability. They sport a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with vibrant 1 billion colors and a 120Hz refresh rate. However, the S20 Pro stands out with its higher brightness levels, reaching 1600 nits in HBM mode, compared to the S20’s 1300 nits. While the screen-to-body ratio is slightly better on the S20 (90.2% vs. 89.2%), the difference is negligible in daily usage.

The overall design language of the S20 Pro feels more refined, offering Purple as an additional color option, which may appeal to users seeking a more distinctive look. Both models feature scratch-resistant glass, but the S20 Pro feels slightly more premium due to its more advanced display technology.

Verdict: The S20 Pro edges ahead with its enhanced brightness and color options, making it a better choice for users prioritizing display brilliance and aesthetics. However, the S20 remains an excellent option for those seeking a near-identical experience at a lower price.

2. Specifications

Vivo S20
Vivo S20

The Vivo S20 features the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, while the S20 Pro is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 9300+, delivering superior performance with a more advanced CPU and GPU architecture. The S20 Pro supports faster UFS 3.1 storage, compared to the S20’s UFS 2.2, ensuring quicker data transfers.

Battery life slightly favors the S20 with its 6500 mAh battery, compared to the S20 Pro’s 5500 mAh. Both support 90W wired charging, but the S20 Pro’s overall efficiency balances the smaller battery size.

Verdict: The S20 Pro’s raw performance makes it a better choice for gamers and power users. However, the S20’s larger battery could appeal to users who prioritize endurance over cutting-edge speed.

3. Camera

Vivo S20 PRO
Vivo S20 Pro

The Vivo S20 offers a capable dual-camera setup, with a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultrawide lens. In contrast, the S20 Pro upgrades to a triple-camera configuration, adding a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. This addition significantly enhances versatility, allowing for high-quality zoomed shots. Both phones share a 50MP selfie camera capable of 4K recording.

The S20 Pro’s advanced camera sensors and telephoto lens make it the superior option for photography enthusiasts. However, the S20 still provides solid imaging performance for its price point.

Verdict: If photography is a priority, the S20 Pro’s advanced triple-camera setup justifies the price difference.

4. Pricing

The Vivo S20 is priced at around 300 EUR, making it an affordable yet feature-rich device. The S20 Pro, at 450 EUR, is more expensive but includes significant upgrades in performance and camera capabilities.

Verdict: The S20 is a fantastic value for casual users, while the S20 Pro’s price is justifiable for those seeking top-tier specs and photography features.

5. Conclusion

Vivo S20 PRO
Vivo S20 Pro

Unique features like the S20 Pro’s periscope telephoto lens, enhanced Mediatek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, and UFS 3.1 storage set it apart. Both devices offer IP64 protection, excellent AMOLED displays, and 90W charging.

Verdict: The S20 Pro is clearly the more advanced option, ideal for users wanting cutting-edge tech. The S20, however, is a well-rounded choice for those who want flagship features without stretching their budget.

Vivo X200 Pro vs Oppo Find X8 Pro: Comparing the Chinese Flagship Phones in India

Following the global debut of the Oppo Find X8 series in India, Vivo finally unveiled its flagship X200 series of smartphones in the region. The two lineups are the latest Chinese flagship phones that launched in the region. So here’s a comparison between the Vivo X200 Pro and Oppo Find X8 Pro.

Vivo X200 Pro vs Oppo Find X8 Pro
Vivo X200 Pro vs Oppo Find X8 Pro

1. Vivo X200 Pro vs Oppo Find X8 Pro: Display & Design

On the front, the premium Chinese devices are quite similar with a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 4500 nits of peak brightness, and more. The Find X8 Pro is also slimmer and lighter than the X200 Pro, measuring 8.2mm and weighing 215 grams. On the other hand, the Vivo flagship has a thicker 8.5mm body and weighs 223 to 228 grams. For water and dust resistance, you get an IP68 + IP69 rating on both high end smartphones.

2. Matching Performance & Hardware

Both the Vivo X200 Pro and Oppo Find X8 Pro are premium smartphones with cutting edge specs and features. The duo are powered by MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9400 SoC, which is one of the fastest chipsets on Android smartphones. So you can easily expect top notch performance on the two models that will be suited for everyday tasks, gaming, and multitasking.

A massive 6,000mAh battery pack powers the Vivo X200 Pro, which supports 90W wired fast charging and 30W wireless fast charging. This is a larger cell than the 5,910mAh battery on the Find X8 Pro. The wired charging speeds is slightly slower at 80W, but it is paired with a faster 50W wireless charging speed. So just like performance, both models are neck in neck in many ways on paper.

3. Camera Showdown

But there’s a big difference when you move to the rear. On the back, the Find X8 Pro houses a quad camera setup that consists of a 50MP (Sony LYT808 Main) + 50MP (Sony IMX858 Telephoto Shooter, 6x optical zoom), 50MP (Sony LYT600 Telephoto Shooter, 3x optical zoom) + 50MP (Ultrawide, 120 degrees). On the other hand, Vivo’s X200 Pro only has a triple camera setup with a 50MP (Sony LYT808 Main) + 200MP (Zeiss APO Telephoto Shooter, 3.7x optical zoom) + 50MP (Ultrawide, 119 degrees).

Right off the bat, the Oppo Find X8 Pro seems more versatile with two options for optical zoom. However, the Zeiss APO telephoto shooter should have an advantage in high magnifications thanks to its 200MP sensor resolution. This sensor is clearly one of the biggest features of the X200 Pro. There is also the V3+ imaging chip that Vivo equips on the X200 Pro. To improve the photography experience both phones offer AI powered camera features as well like AI Eraser, AI Deblur, and others.

4. Pricing & Launch Offers

The Vivo X200 Pro was announced in India for a cheaper price tag of 94,999 INR for the lone 16GB + 512GB variant. This makes it around 5,000 INR cheaper than the Find X8 Pro, which also launched in a single 16GB + 512GB configuration for 99,999 INR. At this price, both models target the ultra premium range. However, the X200 Pro is slightly more affordable thanks to a 10 percent cashback on purchases made using select HDFC Bank cards.

The emergence of Jovi as a new brand

While the name “Jovi” is not new to Vivo users — the company has previously used it for its AI assistant — it seems that Jovi is set to evolve into a standalone smartphone brand. Leaked information suggests that Jovi is preparing to introduce the Jovi V50, Jovi V50 Lite 5G, and Jovi Y39 5G.

These devices have appeared on the GSMA database, each showing model numbers that align closely with Vivo’s existing devices. For instance, the Jovi V50 and Vivo V50 share the same model number, V2427, and the Jovi V50 Lite 5G mirrors the Vivo V50 Lite 5G (V2440). This could mean that Jovi-branded phones are, at least initially, rebranded versions of Vivo’s smartphones.

What to expect from Jovi smartphones

From the leaked models, it seems that Jovi’s initial focus will be the mid-range and entry-level price segment. The Jovi V50 Lite 5G and Jovi Y39 5G indicate that the new brand might prioritize affordable 5G devices, capitalizing on the rapidly expanding 5G market, especially in regions with increasing adoption of 5G.

There is also speculation that Jovi will have a regional focus, particularly in China. For example, the Jovi Y39 5G appears to have a China-specific variant with a Vivo-branded model number. This suggests that Jovi might begin its journey in China before eventually expanding to other regions. However, Vivo has yet to officially confirm these details.

While the news of a new sub-brand is exciting, it’s also important to remain cautious. The appearance of Jovi models in the GSMA database may simply be an early step and does not guarantee the products will be launched. Companies often register model names without a definite product release in mind.
