Find X8 vs. iPhone 16 Pro comparison image released by Oppo’s CPO reveals X8’s slimmer bezel design

Oppo’s Chief Product Officer, Liu Zuohu, has shared a comparison photo of the upcoming Oppo Find X8 and the iPhone 16 Pro. As shown in the below image, the bottom bezel of the Find X8 is as narrow as that of the iPhone 16 Pro and features a uniform width on all four sides.

Oppo Find X8 vs. Apple iPhone 16 Pro: Front design compared

Reliable tipster Ice Universe said that the Find X8 has uniform bezels on all four sides. He added that upon closer inspection, it seems the Find X8’s bezel is slightly narrower than the iPhone 16 Pro’s. The R corners are also quite similar. He also claimed that the bezel size of the Find X8 is 1.45mm.

According to reports, the Find X8 has a 1.5K flat screen design with a centered punch hole, a screen size of approximately 6.5 inches, metal right-angle bezels, and a centrally placed large circular camera module on the back. Like the iPhone 16 series, the Find X8 series will have a dedicated Camera Control-like button on the middle frame.

In terms of core configuration, the Find X8 will be among the first to feature the Dimensity 9400 chipset and run on ColorOS 15-based Android 15. The topmost variant of the device is expected to ship with 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It is expected to pack a 5,700mAh battery with 80W fast charging and also have wireless charging. For photography, it may feature a 32-megapixel front camera, and a 50-megapixel (main, with OIS) + 50-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 50-megapixel (3x periscope telephoto, OIS) triple camera unit.

Oppo recently confirmed that it will hold the Oppo Developer Conference to unveil the ColorOS 15 on Oct. 17 in China. The Find X8 series launch will likely be held on Oct. 21 in the country. Apart from the Find X8, the brand is expected to announce the Find X8 Pro, Find X8 Pro Satellite Communication Version, the Oppo Pad 3 Pro, the Enco X3 TWS earbuds, Oppo Watch X’s new colon variant, and magnetic ecosystem accessories.

Oppo Find X8 Pro Satellite Edition surfaces with highest single-core Dimensity 9400 score so far

After the vanilla Find X8, a new Oppo device, likely the Find X8 Pro Satellite Edition, has made its way to the Geekbench benchmark with the upcoming Dimensity 9400 chipset.

The device carries the model PKC110, which has been linked with the Find X8 Pro Satellite Edition in reports. It scored 3010 points in single-core tests and 8686 points in multi-core tests.

This is the highest single-core score we’ve seen for the Dimensity 9400 so far, but it still falls short of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4’s performance on the upcoming OnePlus 13. The latter scored 3236 points in the single-core test and 10049 points in the multi-core test during its Geekbench appearance earlier this month.

The manufacturer might still be optimizing the SoC to enhance its performance, so we could see better results once the device officially launches.

As per reports, the Dimensity 9400 chip comprises a single Cortex-X925 core working at 3.63GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores operating at 2.8GHz, and quad Cortex-A7 series cores clocking at 2.1GHz. For graphics, the chipset is equipped with the Mali-G925-Immortalis MC12 GPU.

OPPO Find X8 series key specifications (rumored)

The Oppo Find X8 Pro Satellite Edition will build on the Find X8 Pro with a satellite connection on top. Reports suggest that the Find X8 Pro will feature a subtly curved display with a 1.5K resolution.

It will have a circular quad-camera module on the back, which may include a pair of periscope telephoto cameras and a main and ultrawide lens.

Fueling the device could be a 5,800mAh battery that will support 50W wireless charging and 80W wired charging. Other notable features might include an IP69-rated chassis, an alert slider, and a camera control button. The phone will likely run on ColorOS 15-based Android 15.

OnePlus 13’s 24GB RAM variant won’t face any competition from Xiaomi 15 Pro, iQOO 13, Honor Magic 7 Pro

Next month, Vivo and Oppo will be the first brands to launch new flagship phones in China. These brands are expected to unveil Dimensity 9400-powered X200 lineup and the Find X8 series. Later in the same month, probably in the fourth week, Xiaomi is expected to take offer covers from the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro as the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 4-powered flagship phones. It is speculated that OnePlus 13 will also debut by the end of October. A new leak, courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station, the OP13 will have a 24GB RAM variant.

OnePlus 13 to come in 24GB RAM version

According to the tipster, OnePlus has taken the lead in adopting ultra-large memory, with the OnePlus 13 being the only new flagship in the initial batch to feature 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. This indicates that other Snapdragon 8 Gen 4-powered flagships, such as the Xiaomi 15 Pro, iQOO 13, and Honor Magic 7 Pro may not have a 24G RAM version.

DCS believes that the OnePlus 13’s 24GB variant will come with an expensive price tag. The news about the OnePlus 13’s 24GB RAM variant is not surprising, as the OnePlus 12, which debuted in December 2023, was made available in a 24GB+1TB variant with a price of 5,799 Yuan (~$820). The OnePlus 13, expected to feature several upgrades, including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, could be priced between 6,000 Yuan and 6,500 Yuan for the 24GB RAM variant. Here’s a look at what the rumors have revealed about the OP13 so far.

OnePlus 13 specifications (rumored)

Reports indicate that the OnePlus 13 will have a 6.8-inch OLED BT LTPO BOE X2 screen with a quad-micro-curved design, delivering a stunning 2K resolution (3168 x 1440p) and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will include an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor for seamless unlocking.

The front camera will have a 32-megapixel sensor, while the rear camera setup will include a 50-megapixel LYT-808 main sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel LYT-600 ultra-wide sensor, and a 50-megapixel LYT-600 3X periscope telephoto lens. Additionally, the device will benefit from Hasselblad optimizations for superior photography.

The OnePlus 13 is set to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, accompanied by 16 GB / 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It will house a 6,000mAh battery, supporting 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. For the Chinese market, the device will run ColorOS 15, based on Android 15. Users can also expect an improved haptic experience with the 0916 Turbo haptic motor. Several reports have claimed that the OnePlus 13 will also have a renewed rear design and an IP68/69 rating for enhanced durability and water resistance.

Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ receive 3C certification in China, fast charging capabilities revealed

Earlier this month, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra received approval from the 3C authority in China. Now, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ have also been certified by the same regulatory body. Here’s what to expect regarding the fast charging capabilities of both smartphones.

Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus 3C certified

Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus 3C
Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus 3C certified in China

According to the 3C database, the Galaxy S25 (model number SM-S9310) will support 25W fast charging, while the Galaxy S25+ (model number SM-S9360) may support 45W rapid charging. These certifications indicate that there will be no change in the fast charging capabilities of the S25 and S25+ compared to their predecessors. Similar to the S24 series, the retail packages for the S25 models will not include a charger.

Reports indicate that the Galaxy S25 will have a 4,000mAh battery, while the S25 Plus will have a 4,900mAh battery. The S25 Ultra is expected to arrive with a 5,000mAh battery. Of course, these devices will support both wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. Interestingly, the S25 Ultra’s 3C certification revealed that it could be Samsung’s first smartphone to come with support for satellite connectivity.

It is speculated that all three S25 models will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy chipset. With the 3C certification under the belt, it appears that the S25 series could be in line for a January 2025 launch.

In related news, Samsung is working on a couple of new devices for different markets. The brand is expected to unveil the Galaxy Tab S10 series of flagship tablets later this month. Additionally, rumors suggest that the brand is developing the Galaxy S24 FE, potentially making its official debut in October.

Xiaomi 15 charging details out; it’s not something to get excited about

Xiaomi is expected to launch the Xiaomi 15 series next month. It looks like the speculated release time could be true as devices from the lineup have begun appearing on certification sites.

Earlier this month, the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro received radio certification in China. Now, the standard model has surfaced on the 3C certification, revealing its charging specs.

While the certification doesn’t directly name the device as the Xiaomi 15, the model number 24129PN74C matches the one listed in the IMEI database, confirming it as the same device.

About charging, it is rated at a maximum of 90W. That’s the same speed as the Xiaomi 14, but it is already fast enough, as its predecessor can go from 0 to 100% in about 31 minutes, so speed shouldn’t be an issue. Wireless charging details are under wraps for now, but it could be 50W just like the Xiaomi 14.

Xiaomi 15 Specifications (Expected)

Talking of the rest of the specifications, the big highlight for the line will unsurprisingly be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. It might come paired with a 4800mAh or 4900mAh battery to power up the phone.

The vanilla Xiaomi 15 is expected to have a 1.5K resolution flat screen protected by Dragon Crystal Glass. The back will have a triple camera setup consisting of three 50MP lenses for wide, ultrawide, and telephoto use. Rumors also suggest we could see a slightly redesigned camera module in this year’s model.

Other expected tidbits of the phone include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, an upgrade from optical on last year’s model, and IP68 dust and water resistance rating.

As for the price, the Xiaomi 15 series might be more expensive this year, with the vanilla model starting at 4,599 yuan (~$650) in China. For comparison, the Xiaomi 14 launched at 3,999 yuan. The price hike is said to be due to rising chipset and storage costs.

Best Flagship Smartphones to Buy During Festive Sale in India

The festive season is nearing in India. It is considered the best time to shop in the country. That’s because brands and retailers are known to offer heavy discounts on most of their offerings.

The country’s two popular annual online sale festivals, namely Flipkart Big Billion Days and Amazon Great Indian Festival are just a few days away. These sales are known for their deals on premium smartphones.

Thus, if you are planning to invest in a flagship smartphone, this is the perfect time to do so.

There will be offers on a wide variety of phones. Choosing an ideal one for you could be difficult.

Therefore, to help you out we have compiled a list of the best premium smartphones that you should look for.

Best Flagship Smartphones on Sale in India

1. Apple iPhone 15

Apple iPhone 15

Now that the iPhone 16 is out, Apple has already reduced the price of the iPhone 15 by ₹10,000. Hence, the smartphone now officially starts at 69,990. On top of that, you will find retailer discounts in the upcoming weeks.

The most notable offer will be from Flipkart. The eCommerce giant is known for selling limited units of previous-gen base model iPhones for ₹49,999 during the Big Billion Days sale event.

It is worth noting that almost all retailers (big and small) will be offering discounts on the older iPhone 15 for the next few months. Though the offers may not be as lucrative as Flipkart’s, they will be much better than buying the product at its original reduced price.

The iPhone 15 is still a compelling flagship smartphone if you can’t afford the latest iPhone 16 whose USP (Unique Selling Proposition) is Apple Intelligence, which will be only coming later in select regions.

Samsung Galaxy S23

Even if you miss the deal, you need not to worry as the phone is usually sold under ₹50,000 most of the time. For the unaware, its official retail price is ₹69,999.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra is Samsung’s top-end slab smartphone from the previous generation. It was released at ₹1,24,999 but now the product is on sale for just ₹79,999 on Amazon.

That’s a good price for last year’s ultra flagship. The price might go even lower with bank discounts once the sale officially begins next week. But the current price is not bad either as it is the lowest since release.

You may also find similar deals from other retailers across the country. The Galaxy S Ultra series is the best Samsung has to offer in the slab form factor. So if you were eyeing one, this is the best time to buy without spending much.

Huawei Watch D2 launches with 24/7 blood-pressure monitoring certified by the EU

Huawei held a global launch event today to unveil a range of new wearables and tablets. Among the highlights is the Watch D2, the successor to the well-regarded Watch D which comes with built-in blood pressure monitoring. Here’s what Huawei offers in the new model.

Huawei Watch D2 Specifications

The original Watch D stood out for its ability to measure blood pressure directly using a built-in micropump, providing more accurate readings compared to competitors like the Apple Watch Series 10 and Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra.

Huawei claims the Watch D2 builds on this success with improved accuracy and a sleeker design. Its standout feature is Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM), which enables 24/7 blood pressure tracking.

The Watch D2 includes an inflatable wrist strap similar to traditional blood pressure cuffs for reliable measurements of blood pressure than watches that use optical sensors.

The physical airbag within the cuff can inflate and take readings at set intervals, providing smart reminders throughout the day and tracking sleep measurements at night. It supports various positions—standing, sitting, or semi-lying—and performs automatic internal measurements while you sleep.

The device has received approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in China and the Medical Device Regulation (MDR) in Europe for a blood-pressure monitoring feature.

Apart from blood pressure, the Watch D2 offers Beat-by-Beat ECG Analysis, SpO2, Heart Rate, Stress Level, and Skin Temperature monitoring powered by Huawei TruSense system. You can also measure nine body indicators with just a single tap and view the result in what’s called a Health Overview report.

The nine indicators include heart rate, blood pressure, SpO2, stress, skin temperature, ECG, vascular elasticity, respiratory health, and sleep breathing awareness. It is also the first Huawei smartwatch to include blood pressure analysis in its Health Overview.

On the front, you get a 1.82-inch AMOLED display with a 2.5D floating design. There’s also support for GPS to view routes directly on the screen. The watch will be available in Black and Gold and comes with a fluoroelastomer strap or a cream leather strap for a stylish look.

Price and Availability

Despite these improvements, the Watch D2 maintains the same price as its predecessor in Europe, launching at €399 (approximately $444). Customers who purchase the wearable from today till October 22nd will get a pair of Huawei FreeBuds 5i for free.

Huawei‘s wearable lineup gets an upgrade with the introduction of the Watch GT 5 Series. This time around, Huawei is offering two variants of the smartwatch — the standard Watch GT 5 and the feature-packed Watch GT 5 Pro, both of which are available in 42mm and 46mm sizes.

Sticking to the formula that made the GT line popular, the new watches maintain a focus on aesthetics and long battery life, but now offer even better health and fitness tracking thanks to the company’s new TruSense system. Let’s dive into the details here.

Design

Let’s talk looks first. The Watch GT 5 series has a familiar circular dial with a sharp-edged design. The vanilla model uses stainless steel for its body, while the Pro model is constructed with more premium materials like aerospace-grade titanium alloy and nanocrystal ceramic.

Design-wise, however, there’s not much of a difference from the predecessor. The real upgrade for the Watch GT 5 Series is its health and fitness tracking capabilities. The wearable brings Huawei’s all-new TruSense System with upgraded sensors and algorithms.

The system combines data from sensors for respiratory rate, SpO2 (blood oxygen levels), body temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate and is claimed to offer faster, more accurate, and more comprehensive results.

Standard vs. Pro: Feature Breakdown

While both models share the core TruSense System, the Pro variant takes things a step further. It boasts an ECG analysis feature, allowing users to capture their ECG waveforms with a simple button press.

For fitness enthusiasts too, the Pro model truly shines. It offers dedicated features for activities like trail running and freediving.

Trail runners get access to segment-based navigation, off-course alerts, and detailed topographical maps right on their wrists. Freedivers, on the other hand, benefit from water resistance up to 40 meters, along with depth tracking and reminders.

Golfers aren’t left out either. The GT 5 Pro offers a 3D view of course maps for over 15,000 courses worldwide. Additionally, you also get a range of analytical tools that can help you improve your swing and track shot distances.

The standard Watch GT 5 focuses on core fitness tracking features, such as running form analysis, catering to a wider audience. However, both models offer over 100 sports modes, allowing you to track your progress no matter what activity you choose.

As for the battery life, the Huawei Watch GT 5 and GT 5 Pro 46mm offers 14 days of run time while the 41mm Watch GT 5 and GT 5 Pro have a claimed battery life of 7 days. All models are compatible with both Android and iOS, and they support Bluetooth calling.

Huawei Watch GT 5 Series Price and Availability

Pricing starts at £229.99 for the Watch GT 5 and bumps up to £329.99 for the Pro model. Pre-orders for the wearable start from today until October 22nd  and those who pre-order can snag a free pair of Huawei FreeBuds 5i earbuds.

Huawei Watch GT 5 Series users also get a complimentary 3-month membership to Huawei Health+. The platform provides access to a range of fitness resources, including workout routines for all levels, guided meditations, and personalized fitness plans.

iMessage on iOS 18 Keeps Crashing Due to a Bug: What You Shouldn’t Do

Apple announced iOS 18 back in Jun this year, which finally started rolling out a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, people are still reporting bugs in the update, one of which is related to the iMessage app. The bug is causing the app to crash and a data loss. Notably, the bug affects both of the users.

Apple Watch has a feature that lets users easily share their watch face over Messages or Mail directly from watchOS. This is meant to make it possible to share personalized watch face configurations. The bug in iMessage triggers when someone replies to a shared watch face in a thread in iMessage in iOS 18.

The app crashes if the user tries to open the conversation. Interacting with other chats may also become difficult as it starts crashing repeatedly. If the user responds in a thread to the shared watch face, Messages will crash on iOS 18.1 beta, iPadOS 18.1 beta, and macOS 15.1 beta as well.

There’s a fix

Both users can delete the conversation thread from their phones. Users should keep in mind that the solution, for now, results in the entire conversation history getting deleted. It also reportedly deletes attachments like photos and videos that you haven’t saved outside of iMessage.

An attempt to restore the deleted thread from the recently deleted section in the app also restores the bug.

We hope the company patches this bug out of iOS, macOS, and watchOS as soon as possible. Unless Apple rolls out the fix, users are advised to avoid replying to a threaded message if someone shares a watch face with you from Apple Watch.

Galaxy S24 FE’s official cases revealed in a new leak

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S24 FE sometime in October this year with a cut down version of the S24’s Exynos 2400 chipset. Now high-definition renderings of the phone’s official protective cases have emerged with different color options, showcasing a familiar back design. According to the leak there will be four types of cases – Silicone Case, Standing Grip Case, Smart View Wallet Case, and Flipsuit Case.

To begin with, the Silicone Case is the standard one, which comes in Blue, Gray, Green, White, Yellow colors. Notably, this is going to be a soft-touch case, which is generally preferred by most people.

The second one is the Standing Grip Case, which also has a strap on the back for for a good grip. Aside from the strap, this has a very similar build as compared to the standard cases.

The third one, called the Smart View Wallet Case, also equips a screen protector. A good thing about this case is that it comes with a window in the top-right corner, though which you will be able to see the date and time quickly without having to move the cover. There’s also a section on the inside of the screen protector, which serves as a wallet.

The last one is special as it synchronizes with your phone, and can change its look based on that using your phone’s battery. Notably this isn’t new and we have seen it with some of Samsung’s recent flip phones and the Galaxy S24 series.

Aside from the protective cases, the leak also includes images of a, Anti-Reflecting Film screen protector for the Galaxy S24 FE. This screen protector doubles as a layer on top of the display that fights reflections. For those interested, the pricing of the phone has also been revealed in a previous leak.

Vivo X200 Mini camera spec leaks, to include a mysterious Sony IMX06C main sensor

Vivo has scheduled a launch event on October 14th for the X200 series. This year’s lineup is expected to include a new compact model, likely named the Vivo X200 Mini. A reliable tipster has now revealed details about the phone’s camera specs.

According to insider Digital Chat Station (DCS), the Vivo X200 Mini might pack a triple-camera setup headlined by a 50-megapixel main camera.

This primary module reportedly uses a Sony IMX06C sensor with a large 1/1.28-inch size and a wide f/1.57 aperture. It appears to be a new image sensor from Sony as there are little to no details available about it. It could be making its debut with the Vivo X200 series.

Backing it up is a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 ultra-wide lens for capturing large landscapes or group photos. And we are likely to get a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 periscope sensor with a 70mm focal length and an f/2.57 aperture for zoom shots.

DCS suggests the telephoto module should offer up to 10x hybrid zoom and also macro capabilities.

Aside from this, previous leaks reveal that the X200 Mini will be powered by the Dimensity 9400 chipset, the same as the X200 and X200 Pro. Fueling the device could be a silicon battery with 5500mAh or 5600mAh capacity. Leaks suggest it will also have support for wireless charging.

On the front, we might see a 6.3-inch display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

However, an earlier report suggests that the Vivo X200 Mini may have a few shortcomings compared to its predecessor. Specifically, it might use a short-focus optical fingerprint sensor instead of an ultrasonic one, which may not be as advanced as those found in some competing devices.

Nonetheless, we are expecting it to be a more affordable model in line, so if Vivo prices the device rightly, it shouldn’t be as big of a deal.
