The Oppo Find X8 is expected to be released in China sometime in Q4 this year, possibly in October. A design schematic of the phone surfaced online a couple of days ago. Now, a real-life image has emerged, which reveals a slightly different design than the schematic.
The camera sensors have also been relocated
The schematic showed a circular camera island, however, we can see a rounded square design in the real-life image. This is a shift from the circular camera island design of the Find X7 series. The flash module retains its placement from the predecessor, however, the camera sensors have been relocated.
In addition, the phone has transitioned to a flat design for both the middle frame and the back panel. While we cannot see the front, judging from the middle frame it appears that the phone packs a flat AMOLED panel. The latest report from Smartprix also claims that the phone will have a flat display. It will be a 6.7-inch, 1.5K panel that will support 120Hz max refresh rate.
Speaking of the imaging system, it could remain similar to its predecessor. As can be seen from the image, the phone packs a total of three cameras on the back, the same as the Oppo Find X7.
For those interested, the camera system is claimed to include a 50 MP main lens, a 50 MP ultrawide, and a 3x periscope telephoto lens. Notably, the Find X7 packs a 64 MP sensor for the periscope telephoto camera.
In terms of performance, the phone is expected to be powered by the Dimensity 9400 chipset, which is the successor of the Dimensity 9300 used on the predecessor.
Samsung is working on its next-gen budget flagship smartphone, which is expected to launch soon. The Galaxy S24 FE has been making the rounds in online rumors and reports, and now, the US variant of the device has also been certified. So here’s what we know so far.
1. Samsung Galaxy S24 FE: What’s special about this device?
The South Korean tech giant unveiled the Fan Edition (FE) version of its flagship smartphones with accessibility in mind. It releases them with a more affordable price tag compared to its true flagship S series. These typically carry high end specifications, but cut some corners to keep the cost low. My Galaxy S21 FE (which I refuse to part with) is also from this lineup. With the Galaxy S24 series starting at almost 800 US Dollars, the Galaxy S24 FE would arrive as the most affordable model in Samsung’s 2024 flagship family. So you won’t break your bank to get a premium experience.
2. Bluetooth SIG hints at an imminent launch
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 FE just surfaced on the Bluetooth SIG database (via SamMobile), carrying the SM-S721U model number. This appears to be the carrier locked version of the S24 FE that will launch in the US market. Samsung’s affordable flagship phone was recently certified in India, and this listing basically hints at its global release being imminent. Even its official support page went live earlier this month.
3. Here’s what it packs
Just last week, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE was found on GeekBench, a popular benchmarking platform. This revealed some of its key specifications like the Exynos 2400e. The chip is apparently an underclocked version of the Exynos 2400 that is featured on the Galaxy S24 series. It is coupled with at least one variant with 8GB of RAM and runs on the Android 14 OS based OneUI 6.1.1 custom skin out of the box. The device is rumored to be powered by a 4,565mAh battery pack, bringing no upgrade from its predecessor.
Samsung is gearing up to launch ten new washing machines ahead of the upcoming festive season in India. Among these, the company will be introducing a front-load AI-powered washing machine, set to be released by the end of this month. This new lineup is part of Samsung’s premium Bespoke AI range.
A focus on AI-driven innovation
Samssung AI washing machine teaser
The upcoming washing machines will be equipped with a suite of AI-powered features designed to simplify the laundry process. These innovations are expected to significantly reduce the effort required for everyday laundry tasks, making them more efficient and eco-friendly. By integrating advanced AI technologies, Samsung aims to create a smarter home environment that adapts to the needs and preferences of its users.
The new models are positioned to expand Samsung’s existing portfolio of washing machines in India, offering consumers more choices in the premium segment. The company has emphasized that these washing machines are designed with a focus on convenience, aiming to transform the way users interact with their home appliances. The AI-driven features in these machines are expected to improve user lifestyles by offering smarter, more intuitive solutions that enhance daily routines.
Earlier this year, Samsung introduced its 2024 Bespoke AI home appliances in India, which include refrigerators with AI Vision Inside and AI Energy Saving features. These appliances represent a step forward in the company’s efforts to create a hyper-connected ecosystem in the home. Through features like habit learning and sensing, these devices are designed to make household chores more manageable, ultimately freeing up more time for consumers.
For example, Samsung’s AI-powered refrigerators can track the expiration dates of food items and offer customized recipe suggestions through the Samsung Food feature. The AI Energy Saving function in SmartThings helps users monitor and reduce energy consumption, contributing to a more sustainable lifestyle. The Smart Forward feature also ensures that devices receive regular updates, while Samsung Knox provides security for users’ personal information.

On the other hand, the Z9s Pro has a squircle island that is seen on the flagship iQOO 12. Both phones are said to be the segment’s slimmest with curved screens with the standard and pro variants measuring 0.749mm only.

Motorola is well-known for its Edge series smartphones, which often offer excellent mid-range options under ₹25k. Last year, the company launched the Motorola Edge 40, which frequently retailed near the ₹25k mark. They also introduced the Motorola Edge 40 Neo, which was available for under ₹25k.
This year, Motorola has refreshed the 40 series with the launch of the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion, priced within the same range. Let’s dive into how the Motorola Edge 40 and the new Edge 50 Fusion stack up against each other in the under ₹25k segment and whether the older model is still worth considering.
Both phones flaunt a near-identical display size – the Edge 50 Fusion sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ pOLED panel, while the Edge 40 comes in at 6.55 inches. However, the Edge 50 Fusion takes the lead with a 10-bit OLED display, offering richer colors and potentially better HDR performance compared to the Edge 40’s 8-bit panel.
Additionally, the Edge 50 Fusion boasts a slightly higher peak brightness of 1600 nits versus 1200 nits on the Edge 40. When it comes to refresh rate, both phones offer a smooth 144Hz experience, ensuring a buttery-smooth visual experience for everyday tasks and gaming.

2. Performance
The Edge 50 Fusion sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, built on a 4nm process. The Edge 40 equips the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 processor, built on a 6nm process. While the Edge 50 Fusion boasts a newer architecture, benchmark scores suggest the Dimensity 8020 might hold a slight edge in overall performance.
Both options are paired with 8GB of RAM, though the Edge 50 Fusion offers a higher-end 12GB option for those seeking additional multitasking capabilities. Storage-wise, the Edge 40 comes with a single 256GB variant, while the Edge 50 Fusion offers 128GB and 256GB options. However, the Edge 40 utilizes faster UFS 3.1 storage compared to the Edge 50 Fusion’s UFS 2.2.
3. Cameras
Both phones prioritize a 50MP main sensor on the rear, but the Edge 40 might have a slight edge for low-light photography thanks to its wider f/1.4 aperture compared to the f/1.88 aperture on the Edge 50 Fusion. Both phones offer OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) on the main sensor for sharper pictures in shaky conditions.
Both phones offer a 13MP ultrawide sensor with macro capabilities. The front camera on both phones is a 32MP shooter.
Ultimately, the camera systems seem quite evenly matched. Depending on your priorities, the wider aperture of the Edge 40 might be preferable for low light.
4. Software
The Edge 50 Fusion runs the newer Android 14, providing access to the latest features and security updates. The Edge 40 runs Android 13 out of the box but which is also upgradable to Android 14. Motorola promises 3 OS updates for the Edge 50 Fusion, potentially offering longer software support compared to the Edge 40’s update cycle.
5. Battery
The Edge 50 Fusion boasts a larger 5000mAh battery compared to the Edge 40’s 4600mAh battery. While both support 68W fast charging, the Edge 50 Fusion lacks the Edge 40’s 15W wireless charging capability. This might be a deciding factor for users who prefer the convenience of wireless charging.
6. Design and Build
Both phones offer sleek designs with curved displays. The Edge 50 Fusion comes in Hot Pink, Marshmallow Blue, and Forest Blue vegan leather options, while the Edge 40 offers Eclipse Black (acrylic), Nebula Green (vegan leather), and Lunar Blue (vegan leather).
Both boast IP68 dust and water resistance and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The Edge 40 has a slightly slimmer profile at 7.49mm compared to the Edge 50 Fusion’s 7.9mm.
7. Price
The Edge 50 Fusion starts at a lower price point of ₹22,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the Edge 40 comes in a single 8GB + 256GB configuration priced at ₹26,999 currently. However, during sales, the price of the Edge 40 can drop even further, making it an even more attractive option.
8. Conclusion
Both the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion and the Edge 40 are standout mid-range smartphones, delivering excellent value for under ₹25k. The Edge 50 Fusion impresses with its newer processor, varied RAM options, and competitive pricing.
On the other hand, the Edge 40 stands out with its premium build quality, wireless charging, and a slightly wider aperture that enhances low-light photography.
While the Edge 40 offers better overall performance, the Edge 50 Fusion could be the smarter choice for a daily driver, especially if you’re on a tight budget, saving you ₹3-4k. We would have recommended the Edge 40 if a 12GB variant were available for the same price it is available now.
Smartwatches have become ubiquitous fitness companions, tracking everything from steps climbed to sleep patterns. However, for those looking for a more comprehensive health overview, the options are quite limited.
One notable exception is Huawei’s Watch D, which features a built-in inflatable cuff for blood pressure measurement—a unique offering in the smartwatch market. Now, rumors suggest that its successor, the Huawei Watch D2, could be arriving in September.
The original Watch D, launched in 2021, was a compelling choice for users needing to monitor their blood pressure. Unlike most smartwatches that rely on less reliable optical sensors, the Watch D used a traditional blood pressure cuff, miniaturized for the wrist, to provide more accurate readings—an approach that likely appealed to a specific audience.
The wait for its refresh now appears to be nearing its end. According to a tip from Weibo user @UncleKanshan, Huawei is planning a product launch event for September. The highlight of the event is believed to be a triple-foldable phone, but there are whispers that the Watch D2 might also make an appearance. However, details about any new features or improvements in the D2 remain scarce.
Blood pressure monitoring continues to be the standout feature of the Huawei Watch D series. The Watch D2 will maintain this functionality, as confirmed by a recent Chinese medical device license referring to the wearable as a “Wrist Ambulatory Blood Pressure Recorder.”
Although the exact launch date in September is still unconfirmed, @UncleKanshan suggests that September 24th could be a possibility.
Beyond blood pressure monitoring, details about additional features or design changes are still under wraps. We’ll have to wait for the official announcement or further leaks to see what Huawei has in store for the Watch D2. With its expected September launch, the wait won’t be long.

The Pixel Watch series has always been a head-turner with its unique, round pebble design and futuristic curved glass. But beneath the sleek exterior Google has yet again failed to solve a persistent issue – repairability, or rather, the lack thereof.
Just like its predecessors, Google’s latest smartwatch isn’t built for repairs. So any unfortunate mishap, whether a cracked display or a malfunctioning battery, means you simply can not repair it, rather you have to replace the smartwatch itself.
The design plays a big role in this problem. The signature round form and beautifully curved glass are undeniably attractive, but they also make the watch more prone to damage, especially the display, which is the most likely component to suffer from a fall or bump.
In a message to Android Authority, Google confirmed that the policy for their smartwatches remains the same — if broken, replace it, the watch is not repairable.
Instead, the company suggests users opt for the Pixel Watch 3’s Preferred Care program, which offers a replacement for a $49 service fee in case of accidental damage. However, this is only an option in some regions, leaving users in unsupported areas with a hefty price tag for a replacement, even outside of warranty.
This whole system stands in stark contrast to Google’s recent sustainability efforts, particularly the self-repair program rolled out for Pixel smartphones. Furthermore, it creates a significant amount of electronic waste, as broken Pixel Watches become unusable even if parts within them might be perfectly functional.
While protective cases offer some peace of mind, they come at the cost of adding bulk and potentially compromising the watch’s design aesthetic. It’s a trade-off many users might not be comfortable making.
So, while the Pixel Watch 3 offers features like improved fitness tracking, a Loss of Pulse Detection tool, and brighter displays, you should be cautious about making a purchase decision due to its repairability concerns.

Earlier this month, a Redmi phone with model number 24094RAD4C was approved by China’s 3C certification platform. This phone, which was spotted with a 45W charger, is believed to be the Redmi Note 14 5G. The series also includes two other phones with the 24115RA8EC and 24094RA29C model numbers. Today, the 24115RA8EC variant received approval from the 3C authority in China. This phone could be a member of the Redmi Note 14 Pro smartphone series.
Purported Redmi Note 14 5G 3C certified
To recall, the Redmi Note 13 Pro and Note 13 Pro+ from last year packed the same 5,000mAh battery. However, the Pro model offered 67W charging, whereas the Pro+ supported 120W charging. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 13 supported 33W rapid charging.
The Redmi Note 14’s 3C certification indicated that it could support 45W charging. It seems that the Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro+ may also come with improved rapid charging capabilities.
The screenshot above shows the 24115RA8EC Redmi phone with a 90W fast charger, bearing the MDY-14-EC model number. While Chinese tech bloggers believe that the 24115RA8EC is the Redmi Note 14 Pro, there is no clarity on whether it is the Pro or Pro+ variant.
The Redmi Note 14 Pro is expected to feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset. On the other hand, the Note 14 Pro+ is expected to come equipped with the Dimensity 7350 SoC. Both phones are expected to feature a 1.5K resolution OLED display with curved edges and a 50-megapixel triple camera unit. Now that the Redmi Note 14 series devices have received 3C certification, it seems that it will debut in September in China.
As Chinese smartphone makers keep trying to make their foldable phones thinner and lighter, Samsung has to keep up. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip phones are already slimmer than most other foldable phones on the market. However, the same can’t be said for their Galaxy Z Fold series.
Samsung is expected to respond to this challenge later this year with a new model, possibly called the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim. Although the name isn’t confirmed, leaks and rumors suggest that this phone will have a slimmer and lighter design. A new report from Korean media hints that titanium could be a key material in achieving this.

Titanium Backplate for a Stronger and Lighter Foldable Phone
Samsung is reportedly considering using titanium for the backplate of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim. The backplate is an important part of foldable phones as it supports the foldable screen and hinge. In the current Galaxy Z Fold models, Samsung uses carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) for this part.
For the new Z Fold 6 Slim, Samsung might switch to a titanium backplate. Titanium is known for being both strong and lightweight, which would make the phone more durable and easier to carry. While CFRP is still an option, it seems likely that Samsung will go with titanium in the end.
No S Pen Support Due to Titanium Backplate
Back in May, it was revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim might not support the S Pen. The use of a titanium backplate could be the reason for this. Titanium can interfere with the digitizer that allows the stylus to work properly. This is probably why Samsung decided not to use titanium in the previous Galaxy Z Fold models. The Galaxy S24 Ultra has a titanium frame, but because the frame doesn’t sit behind the display, it doesn’t cause the same issue.
Release Date and Availability
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim is expected to be announced between October and December of this year. However, it seems that this model might only be available in Korea and China. A global release doesn’t appear likely at the moment, and one reason could be the higher price of the phone, which is expected to be over $2,000.

On August 20, tipster Majin Buu shared a leaked iPhone 16 launch poster on X with the tagline ‘Ready. Set. Capture.’ However, it turns out that the poster was not created by Apple and does not confirm a September 10 launch for the upcoming series.
While the poster, featuring an Apple logo and emphasizing the word ‘capture’ (thought to symbolize the capture button), appeared convincing, it was actually created and shared by another user on the platform as a way to alleviate boredom.
X user @lorevfx made a post on the platform admitting the matter. He also shared a video showing how he managed to create a convincing poster using Figma and an Ai generated texture within less than 10 minutes. He also shared the entire chat which convinced tipster Majin Buu that the poster was real.
That being said, it’s still unconfirmed whether Apple will host the launch event on September 10 or if the capture button will be available on all iPhone 16 models
Based on previous rumors, the capture button is expected to support multiple gestures. Users will be able to zoom in and out by swiping left and right on the button surface. In addition to that it will work as a two-stage shutter button: a light press will set the focus and a harder press will click the picture. The mechanical control similar to dedicated cameras may also contribute to the overall photo-taking experience.
The company is also working on new AI features for iOS 18. Nonetheless, some of the key AI features could reportedly take the company months to polish and rollout to the new devices.

This means the phone should be able to handle tasks like gaming and multitasking much better than before.
Different Camera Setups for Different Markets
An interesting feature of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G has become clear: Depending on where it’s sold, the camera setup will vary. The global version of the smartphone will come with a triple camera system that includes a telephoto lens. This will allow users to zoom in on objects without losing image quality.
