Starting today, the handset is available for purchase via iQOO India’s website and Amazon. Here is a look at the specifications, features, and price of the device.

It comes in two shades, such as Aqua Flow and Mocha Brown.

The iQOO Z9 Lite 5G features a 6.56-inch IPS LCD HD+ waterdrop notch display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 840 nits. The Dimensity 6300 processor powers it, paired with LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. It houses a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.

The Z9 Lite 5G’s rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel secondary snapper. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel selfie camera. It runs on Android 14 with FunTouch OS14 and promises two Android OS upgrades, as well as three years of security updates.

Samsung has announced early deliveries for its sixth-generation foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, for customers who pre-booked these devices in India starting today (July 20, 2024). Other customers will be able to lay hands on the new foldables on July 24.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 have seen a significant increase in popularity, with pre-orders rising by 40 percent in the first 24 hours compared to the previous generation foldable. Samsung prices the Galaxy Z Fold 6 at Rs 1,64,999 (12GB+256GB) and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 at Rs 1,09,999 (12GB+256GB).

Customers pre-ordering these devices will receive a cashback of Rs 8,000 on HDFC Bank cards, along with nine months of no-cost EMI, or an upgrade bonus of Rs 8,000 with up to nine months of no-cost EMI. Existing Samsung flagship smartphone customers can opt for an upgrade bonus of Rs 15,000.

iQOO Z9 Pro clears Bureau of Indian Standards certification ahead of rumored August launch

iQOO is preparing to expand its Z series lineup with the introduction of the iQOO Z9 Pro, following the recent releases of the iQOO Z9 Lite and iQOO Z9 last month. The iQOO Z9 Pro will be the successor to the iQOO Z7 Pro.

Now, the device has emerged on the Bureau of Indian Standards, confirming that that regulatory body has greenlit its launch in the country. The phone, model number I2305, has been spotted in BIS certifications. It is likely to have similar features to the vivo T3 Pro 5G (model number V2404).

Although not much is currently known about the device, it is rumored to launch in August. It will reportedly come in one version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, available in White and Orange colors. Vivo is also expected to release the T3 Pro, which will have 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB, in Orange and Green colors.

While exact details are not yet confirmed, the Z9 Pro is expected to have an AMOLED display. A leak suggests the phone might have a 50MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).

In related news, iQOO has recently launched the Watch GT in the Chinese market, featuring a square-shaped 1.85″ AMOLED display with a 390 x 450 resolution and a quick-release soft rubber strap. Xiaomi has launched a number of new devices in the annual speech event yesterday, which includes the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 book-style foldable, the smaller Xiaomi Mix Flip, the Xiaomi Smart Band 9, and the Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport.

Speaking of the book style foldable, the impact resistance has reportedly increased to 300% as compared to its predecessor. The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is as light as 226g, as thin as 4.59mm when unfolded and 9.47mm when folded. For context, the recently released Honor Magic V3 is measured at 4.35mm when unfolded and 9.2mm when folded.

According to a report, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is the first phone from Xiaomi to use a carbon fiber structure inside. The hinge floating plate, the screen lining, and the middle plate battery compartment are all made of T800H high-strength carbon fiber material, which brings a 300% improvement in impact resistance.

The carbon fiber material used inside the device reportedly has a tensile strength of 5500MPa. For reference, this is 13 times that of 6M42 aluminum alloy and 25 times that of ordinary aluminum alloy. Another advantage of the new material is that it is lightweight. To be more specific, the weight is only 1/15 of 6M42 aluminum alloy. This should be one of the contributing factors behind the 29g reduction in the device’s weight compared to its predecessor.

The device adopts a 7.98″ 2224 x 2488 foldable LTPO AMOLED panel that reaches a peak brightness of 3000 nits. The cover display is measured at 6.56″, which also reached the same level of peak brightness. It offers a resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels (21:9).

The device runs on HyperOS based on Android 14, and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This is paired with up to 1TB storage and 16GB RAM.

Lenovo has officially confirmed some of the specifications of the upcoming Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.7, which is expected to launch towards the end of this month.

As you can see from the official poster below, the tablet will be powered by the Dimensity 8300 processor. It will be paired with LPDDR5x memory and up to UFS 4.0 storage (UFS 4.0 is limited to the 256GB model). The chipset consists of 4x Arm Cortex-A715, 4x Arm Cortex-A510, and Arm Mali-G615 MC6. It scores around 1400 and 4200 in the Geekbench single and multi-core test respectively.

According to the poster, the device achieves an average fps of 59.1 in an open-world RPG game in the highest graphics setting with motion blur turned off. Nonetheless, the data comes from Lenovo Laboratory.

To power the system, the tablet boasts a 10200mAh large-capacity battery and also supports 45W super flash charging. The device is claimed to offer a standby battery life of 79.6 days. The product has already passed China’s 3C certification

According to a source close to Huawei, the company has indeed started research and development of projects related to tri-folding smartphone. The company has reportedly incorporated the latest AI technology and is currently progressing smoothly.

The latest news comes from a live broadcast from earlier this week. When asked about the development, Richard Yu, the company’s executive director, chairman of the Terminal BG, and chairman of the Intelligent Automotive Solutions BU, did not deny the development of a tri-folding device. He said that the specific progress is not convenient to disclose.

According to rumors, this device will adopt a unique inward and outward folding design and be equipped with a dual hinge system. Being a tri-folding device, it is expected to pack a significantly larger display. To be more specific, it is expected to be around 10″ in size. For context, the Huawei Mate X5 packs a 7.85″ inner display. A rumor also claims that Huawei could launch the device in September this year, which is the same month the company released the Mate X5 last year.

At the end of March this year, the State Intellectual Property Office announced a Huawei patent called “Folding Screen Device”. According to Huawei, the prototype has basically taken shape.

Earlier today, Xiaomi held a launch event for its Redmi 70 series devices in China. The event also featured the launch of the Xiaomi Smart Band 9. This new smart band has a familiar design with premium upgrades. It features a metal frame, a wide variety of colorful straps, and a special ceramic edition.

The Xiaomi Band 9 comes with a 1.62-inch AMOLED display that significantly boosts brightness (1200 nits) and has over 200 watch faces for personalization.

Compared to last year’s model, health monitoring gets a 16% improvement in heart rate accuracy, along with blood oxygen and stress tracking. Sleep tracking is also improved, suggesting optimal sleep cycles for better recovery.

Over 150 workout modes are available, including guided running courses. The Band 9 connects via Bluetooth 5.4 and offers basic smart features like music control, message replies, and weather.
