Apple Inc. launched the iPad Mini 6 alongside the iPhone 13 lineup last year. Recently, the device’s latest OS- the iPad Os 15.5 appears to have been generating some problems. The most recent iteration of Apple’s mobile operating system is currently having an impact on iPad users, which comes after numerous concerns about the Apple Books app. More specifically, following the upgrade, a number of users have reported having trouble charging their iPad Mini 6 devices.

After updating to iPadOS 15.5, concerned customers have reported on the Apple Support Community forums that they are no longer able to charge the iPad Mini 6. These complaints indicate that regardless of the power cable or adapter used, the iPad battery does not charge. Some users have even tried restoring the iPad software to fix the problem, but this doesn’t seem to work.

Although this may appear to be a hardware problem, the underlying causes are software-related. Apple said that it is aware of users have reported being unable to charge their iPad Mini 6 after upgrading to iPadOS 15.5, according to an internal memo distributed to authorized service providers via MacRumors.

Sadly, Apple also states in the memo that upgrading the iPad’s internal battery or even buying a new one won’t fix the issue, therefore confirming that the charging problem is a software flaw. A couple of months ago, Apple finally launched its new iPad Mini with an 8.3-inch display but soon after its release, some users started complaining about the “jelly scrolling” issue in which the right side of the screen runs faster than the left side in portrait mode.

In response, Apple said that this is normal for LCD display as such screens refresh line-by-line. But now it seems that the technology giant is working on a new variant of the iPad Mini 6 that could solve the “jelly scrolling” issue on the device.

As per the report coming from @FronTron, Apple is considering launching a refreshed iPad Mini with a 120Hz ProMotion display instead of the current 60Hz screen. This is the same display that Apple is using on the iPad Pro models since 2017 and this year’s iPhone 13 Pro models also come with a ProMotion display.

It comes with a variable refresh rate where it drops to 10Hz when the content on the screen doesn’t need a high refresh rate. This means that the system automatically detects the activities and what refresh rate to apply, helping the device save battery life.

If the reports are to be believed, then Apple is currently testing an 8.3-inch panel that is manufactured by Samsung. Do note that this is just a rumor at this point in time and there’s no confirmation that Apple will actually launch a refreshed version of the iPad Mini 6, so take this with a pinch of salt.

Now, the brand has released new products that are encased in gold, which is a known symbol of status. The new collection of custom products are labelled as “Prime,” which are available in either “Gold” or “Gold Plated” versions, with the primary difference between the two bei9ng the amount of gold used and their prices.

The Sony PS5 Gold gaming console is encased in solid 18K yellow old with decorative patterns as well. Furthermore, Caviar even customized the DualSense controller, covering it with genuine lather. Only 5 units of the PS5 Gold have been made and cost a whopping $350,000. Meanwhile, the more affordable gold plated version costs just $12,750. The AirPods Max Gold is also made with 18K yellow gold along with genuine crocodile leather for the ear pads and costs $68,000 (Only 9 units made).

On the other hand, the gold plated version costs just $5,910 (99 units made). Arriving at the iPad mini, the tablet is built with 18K solid yellow gold and also feature four 4mm diamonds. With only 6 units being made, the starting price is $84,920. The gold plated edition costs $6,600 for the 256GB internal storage version but still offers the four diamonds, with 99 units available. Lastly, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max Gold versions start from $42,380 (9 units made). The iPhones do not arrive in gold plated versions, but arrive in a higher end Solid Gold Unique version that sports 55diamonds (1.8 mm each) that are embedded on the back and starts from $45,000.

Design-wise, the product is said to have a similar look to the fourth-generation iPad Air. Previously, it was revealed that the upcoming iPad Mini, which carries codename J310, will come powered by the Apple A15 Bionic chipset, which is expected to power the upcoming iPhone 13 lineup as well.

It is also said that the product will now come with a USB Type-C port instead of the company’s proprietary Lightning port. The device will still have support for Touch ID which will be embedded on the side.

Apple has been revamping its MacBook and iMac devices with a new design as well as adopting its own Apple Silicon chips instead of Intel chips. The company recently launched the iPad Pro powered by the Apple M1 chipset — the same chip that powers most of the newly launched computers from the brand.

Now, a new report coming from Mark Gurman through Power On newsletter claims that the Cupertino-based tech giant is reportedly gearing up to launch a revamped version of the iPad Mini in the fall this year. The upcoming iPad Mini 6 is speculated to launch along with the larger-display model of the Apple iMac.

The newer model of the iPad Mini is expected to come with some major design overhaul, including thinner bezels. The brand is also touted to get rid of the Home button. In what is billed to be the “biggest redesign in the nine-year history” of the device, Mark Gurman claims it will be similar to the alterations made to the iPad Air.

Leaked images related to the device have pointed to the iPad Mini having the same footprint as the current model, with only a 3mm difference. It is said to measure 206.3mm x 137.8mm x 6.1mm in dimensions and will be available in three colors options — Silver, Black, and Gold. The Lightning port has been switched for USB-C port, and Touch ID will remain on the device in the form of a power button sensor.

Although the iPad Pro is powered by the M1 chipset, we expect the company to launch this upcoming model powered by the Apple A-series processors to differentiate between the Pro and Mini models in terms of performance.

Apple is also rumored to launch a new model of the iMac which will have a bigger display compared to the recently announced 24-inch iMac. The new model is likely to have a 27-inch screen or larger and is likely to be powered by the M1X or M2 chipset.

Yesterday, we saw alleged dummy images of the upcoming iPad mini model. It showed that the display had thick bezels, a physical Home button, and a design similar to the predecessor. However, we have received new renders of the iPad mini 6 and the renders tell us a whole new story.

The renders of the Apple iPad mini 6 we received were from an anonymous source so we aren’t sure if it’s 100% legit. Anyway, talking about them, the alleged images seem to be listings for a screen protector of the iPad mini 6.

Unlike the images leaked before, we see construction that has a more boxy design with somewhat sharp edges and not curvy edges on the back. Also, these resemble the iPad Pro 2020 and the latest iPhone 12 series design language.

We see a Power button at the top, volume buttons to the right. Upfront, the selfie camera is tucked inside the bezels and not present underneath the display inside the punch-hole. Speaking of which, the renders are quite different from the one we saw in January.

That older report said that the iPad mini 6 would have punch-hole display upfront and host an in-display fingerprint sensor(Touch ID on display). Contrary to this, a report by a Japanese website Mac Otakara said that iPad mini will emanate iPad Air 3 design, continue to have Touch ID on the home button which is clearly missing on the new renders.

So far, reports say that the iPad mini 6 will feature either 8.5-inch or 9-inch display out of which 8.4-inch seems to be most likely. Either way, it will be an upgrade from the 7.9-inch screen on the iPad mini 5. And unlike the ‘Pro’ version, Apple will probably release this model with the lightning port in 2021.

Apple brought the Touch ID on the power button with the iPad Air 4 last year and it is still unclear which of the options Apple would choose for iPad mini 6. Lastly, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that an iPad mini, alongside a new ‘Pro’ model, is coming with a mini-LED display but there are no further reports on the same.

Kuo has said that Apple will be releasing a new 10.8-inch iPad model in the second half of this year and a new 8.5-inch iPad next year, which we are expecting to be a part of the iPad Mini lineup.

It remains to be seen if the 10.8-inch version is a part of the iPad lineup or the iPad Air lineup. As for the 8.5-inch model, he had previously confirmed it to be a part of the iPad Mini lineup and a successor to the iPad Mini launched in March last year.

According to 2014 estimations, the factory price of 7 inch tablet knock-offs has dropped to somewhere between $30-$40 (about 187RMB-250RMB). As their size grows by an inch, the factory price increases by $10 (around 62RMB). Therefore, the factory price of a 10 inch tablet knock-off is estimates to be somewhere between $70 (about 437RMB) and $80 (about 499RMB)

The device will use cheaper components, using the A5 processor, the metal casing is simpler, does not have a rear camera, 8GB of storage and use estimates it costs between $199 – $249 USD.

According to Kuo, the device will not contribute significantly as powerful as the iPad Mini, but at least help Apple from low-end tablet market controlled by Android tablets.

Apple said it would implement a strategy similar to the iPad and iPhone, which is also rumored to be present in  cheap version, with a polycarbonate casing and released this year.

Overall, Kuo see that there will be relatively little growth in iPad sales in 2013, due to the 9.7-inch iPad market share cannibalized by the iPad Mini and iPad Mini Retina display later.

Apple finally officially introduced the iPad Mini in the event that helds yesterday. iPad Mini uses a dual core Apple A5 processor as seen in the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.

The new iPad Mini comes with a screen measuring 7.9 inches with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and an aspect ratio of 4:3. This tablet also has a thickness of only 7.2 millimeters with a weight of 308 grams. The tablet is also much lighter than earlier Apple’s iPad.

There is Apple iSight 5 megapixel camera on the rear body also capable of recording Full HD video. While the front facing came can record 720p HD video. The Apple also provides LTE version for this tablet. The battery can gandle up to 10 hours of use.

Regarding the price, the Apple tablet is selling cheaper than the prepious Apple iPad products. For the 16GB version, Apple will sell for $ 329 USD. Meanwhile, for the 32GB and 64GB versions respectively priced at $ 429 USD and $ 529 USD. For additional features LTE, consumers have to add $ 130 USD.

If the previously rumored iPad Mini will include LTE connectivity. But the news was later ‘denied’ with the latest news from foreign media. According to that news, British newspapers reported that the iPad Mini will only be available in WiFi-only models.
According to sources obtained by The Guardian, iPad Mini version of the WiFi-only make sense if Apple want to provide a new option to the market for low-cost tablet device.

The source also said that the absence of 4G or 3G support certainly for decrease the cost production of iPad Mini.

The newspaper also released the picture posted on Twitter by Sonny Dickson, an Australian writer, which shows the ratio between the size of the iPad Mini with the 3rd generation iPad (New iPad).
It seems that what is rumored that the iPad Mini has a 7.85-inch wide screen size is correct.
