Black Shark has launched the Blade 3 magnetic power bank with a 10,000mAh battery in China. The device is listed on JD.com at a starting price of 259 yuan ($37) and supports 30W wired charging alongside 15W magnetic wireless charging, with a focus on iPhone compatibility.

The power bank comes in two capacity options: 5,000mAh and 10,000mAh. The 10,000mAh version measures 1.38cm in thickness and weighs about 195 grams, while the smaller 5,000mAh version is slimmer at around 0.8cm and weighs 115 grams. Both versions use a flat G3 curved design to fit flush against the back of iPhones, without interfering with the camera bump.

Black Shark uses high-density lithium cobalt oxide battery cells with an explosion-resistant coating. The 10,000mAh variant uses two 5,000mAh cells and delivers a rated output of 6,000mAh at 5V/2A. This design keeps surface temperatures at or below 37°C, while dual NTC temperature sensors and AI-based thermal control dynamically adjust power output in real time.

The magnetic module uses 17 N52-grade magnets with a maximum magnetic force of 12.8N. The device includes an LED battery indicator and supports single-tap and double-tap shortcuts for battery check and power off. Black Shark is prepping a new 8.8-inch tablet for the Malaysian market, and the company has already begun sharing its first teaser images. What it hasn’t shared yet is the actual name, image, or specs of the device. They are still under wraps.

However, a leak from XiaomiTime may have already filled in most of the gaps. The publication not only shared real-life images but also the key specs like chipset and battery.

As you can see, the back of the tablet sticks to Black Shark’s familiar gaming look, with grey tones, sharp mechanical lines, and geometric patterns. One side features grille-like accents, the other has fine etched detailing, and the signature Black Shark “S” logo sits right in the center.

The lone rear camera sensor sits above an LED flash, and the sides of the tablet show a red-accented power button along with volume keys on the top edge. There are also speaker grilles on both short sides, suggesting stereo audio.

Inside, the tablet is expected to house a 7,300mAh battery, but the charging speed is limited to just 20W.

The more interesting part is the chipset. For the first time in a Black Shark tablet, the company appears to be switching to a Qualcomm processor. The motherboard carries the identifier “QUALCOMM SM8635P,” which lines up with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. It’s a capable chip for everyday use and even some serious gaming sessions.

As of now, Black Shark hasn’t announced a launch date yet. However, with teaser posts going live and leaks revealing nearly everything, the official debut is probably not too far away.

If you’ve been waiting for a smartwatch that doesn’t freak out at a little dirt or rain — or maybe a lot of it — Black Shark thinks it has the answer. Black Shark launched the GS3 back in May 2024 and has now added an Ultra model to the lineup.

The new GS3 Ultra still uses a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a sharp 466 × 466 resolution, but now it sits in a beefier metal frame with four chunky buttons that look like they came off a gaming accessory. Gorilla Glass with a 9H hardness rating protects the screen, and there are said to be around 270 watch faces to choose from.

Where this smartwatch really flexes is durability. Alongside the usual 5 ATM water resistance, the GS3 Ultra also boasts a full IP69K rating — the same category used for heavy-duty industrial gear. That means the watch can withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. In other words: drop it, splash it, bury it in sand… it’ll probably be fine.

Health and fitness tracking is covered with over 160 sports modes, including auto-detection for common workouts like running or rowing. It tracks heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, stress, and sleep in multiple stages, and yes — it logs naps too.

Black Shark has also upgraded location tracking with dual-band GPS (L1 + L5) and support for basically every satellite network you’ve heard of: BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, and India’s NavIC. Calls can be taken over Bluetooth, helped by ENC noise reduction so roads and crowds don’t drown you out.

But the biggest crowd-pleaser might be the battery. Black Shark claims up to 18 days of “normal” use and as much as 45 days in standby. That’s refreshingly far from smartwatch-as-daily-charger-accessory territory.

The GS3 Ultra comes in black or silver with the same aggressive, gamer-style look Black Shark loves. Pricing and release details are still under wraps, but based on the feature list alone, this one definitely deserves a spot on the radar for anyone who routinely destroys wearables.

The cooler combines three functions in a single unit: fast wireless charging, TEC semiconductor-based cooling, and strong magnetic attachment. It supports true 25W wireless charging that complies with the WPC Qi 2.2 protocol. Black Shark says the cooler can charge an iPhone 17 Pro to 50 percent in around 30 minutes when paired with the company’s 45W charger. It uses an Apple-grade charging coil and a built-in authentication chip to ensure stable power delivery and reduce excess heat during charging.

Black Shark equips the device with a TEC cooling module that includes a semiconductor cooling plate, a 3000 rpm fan, and a large internal heatsink. The cooling system reduces surface temperatures to as low as 13°C during charging. The device also sports an AI temperature control system that monitors thermal output in real time and adjusts cooling power to protect the battery.

The accessory uses dual-side strong magnetic attachment with eighteen N52 magnets. Black Shark claims the ring will last a lengthy 180 days on a single charge thanks to the included charging compartment. Even the charging compartment looks sleek, with the ring resting on the same. There is a tiny LED light towards the front of the charging case to indicate if the ring is charging or charged. Pretty neat design overall.

While a release date hasn’t been announced, Black Shark is clearly building anticipation for their new wearable. We are officially entering the era where smart rings might become mainstream. In a lot of ways, it is way less intrusive than a smartwatch, since smart rings are great for people who do not want to add another screen to their already screen-occupied day. We’ll see how other companies follow up – Samsung is already finishing up their Galaxy Ring and we’re excited to see what it brings.

However, a recent listing on the e-commerce platform, Youxianyu, suggests that the company may be gearing up for a comeback with the release of its latest product, the Black Shark 6.

The Black Shark 6 is priced at 3900 Yuan ($564) and boasts impressive specs, including 12GB RAM, 512GB internal storage, a Sony IMX686 main camera, and support for 120W fast charging. However, the product listed on Youxianyu is clearly an engineering prototype, with various interface openings for testing on the back, a huge rear lens module marked with fancy line patterns, and two back cover materials of glass and suspected plain leather. The phone runs on JOYUI 13-based MIUI 13.

Reports suggest that the Black Shark 6 series will feature a 2K punch-hole display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, and a built-in 5000mAh battery. The phone will also support a super-large symmetrical dual speaker, active cooling and heat dissipation, and a ceramic body, among other features.

The release of the Black Shark 6 comes on the heels of reports that Black Shark has been facing significant operating problems, including employee compensation arrears and a significant reduction in the number of jobs. However, with the release of the Black Shark 6, the company may be looking to regain its footing in the competitive gaming smartphone market. It remains to be seen if Black Shark can overcome their recent setbacks and successfully come back with the Black Shark 6.

The latest information regarding the Black Shark 6 series arrives from known tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website). These upcoming premium gaming handsets will reportedly sport displays that features 2K resolution and a center aligned punch hole cutout for the selfie camera. This panel is likely be a straight OLED panel that offers high refresh rate. According to the tipster, the Chinese smartphone maker’s upcoming flagship phones will also features a ceramic body.

Digital Chat Station also added that the Black Shark 6 and Black Shark 6 Pro will be equipped with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Furthermore, the new devices will be powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack that will also support an impressive 120W fast charging rate. Finer details regarding the camera is still at large, but at least one of the image sensors on the rear will be a Sony IMX686 sensor, which is a 64 megapixel shooter.

Other notable features revealed by the tipster is a large sound chamber for the symmetrical dual stereo speakers as well as a robust cooling system. The thermal management system on the new device will apparently be the strongest active cooling tech offered by the brand so far, which is not surprising since the Black Shark 6 series will be gaming centric and feature top notch hardware. The Black Shark 5 series has apparently been taken off shelves in the Chinese market. Netizens have recently noticed that the company’s gaming smartphones have been sold out on various platforms. So here are all the details.

The gaming smartphone lineup from the Chinese brand includes the base model along with the Pro variant, and the higher end RS version. However, all three models in the Black Shark 5 series has been removed from JD.com and even the company’s official website as well. Although the Black Shark 5 RS variant is still in stock in the Black Shark section of the JD.com website. This makes it the only model that is currently available for purchase.

This has led many to believe that the series has been shelved by the company. In other words, the phones have possibly been discontinued and had its production ceased. This would seem odd considering the Black Shark 5 was released less than a year ago, back in 30 March 2022. The smartphone officially went on sale on April 2, so it means that the device is already unavailable a mere nine months after launch.

As of right now, finer details are still unclear and we have no way of confirming why the company’s latest existing model is out of stock. On the other hand, there have also been rumors going around that Black Shark has been slashing jobs in China. These rates of lay offs were reportedly quite high with rates nearly hitting 50 percent. Black Shark is apparently working on an interesting new product that will be made for people with disabilities. The company has just recently patented a VR based product (virtual reality) that is built to aid people with hearing impairment.

The Chinese smartphone maker’s patent was recently spotted by ITHome. Looking at the official patent description, the company is working on a new VR glasses type of device that houses its own mobile power supply and a display unit. Furthermore, the upcoming VR device is apparently capable of a very interesting feature. This gadget will have a dedicated module to read lip and lip language. In other words, it would be able to recognize lip movement and sent the relevant information to the VR device wearer.

The data would likely be transcribed in the form of audio or possibly displayed on the VR device’s display. Interestingly enough, we had covered a report earlier this year regarding Tencent acquiring Black Shark. The former was rumored to be making this move as it sought to step into the Metaverse. For those unaware, Black Shark has been a brand that has been in the gaming industry for sometime now and would’ve reportedly develop VR hardware for the metaverse. Meanwhile, Tencent would’ve been responsible for the software content on the company’s new VR product.

Keep in mind that this is still just a patent. This means that we have no idea if the brand is actually working on such a product or is simply covering all bases. The smart mode can intelligently adjust the fan speed according to the phone temperature. If Black Shark has an algorithm upgrade for Smart mode, you can also do an OTA upgrade through the APP.

There is no doubt that FunCooler 3 Pro is a professional device made by Black Shark for gamers. It has the strongest cooling system from Black Shark, and if it can’t cool your phone, then no one can cool your phone.

Over the last couple of weeks, there have been a number of launches for Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 powered smartphones. Now, it appears that Black Shark is also planning on launching a new high performance smartphone in the market.

The news arrives from known tipster Digital Chat Station who shared the news on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website). Looking at the social media post, the smartphone in question will be a high end model that had initially sported a 2K display, but now features a 1080p (likely FHD+) resolution. Furthermore, the Black Shark smartphone will reportedly be powered by a 4,790mAh battery pack and it uses a dual cell design with 100W fast charging support.

On the rear, the smartphone features a triple camera setup, with the primary sensor being a 64 megapixel IMX686 sensor, paired with a 13 megapixel lens and 2 megapixel shooter. Meanwhile, the front will house a 16 megapixel selfie camera. Apart from this, the tipster also stated that there is a good chance that this Black Shark phone will become the next flagship next year. Although, it is entirely likely that it is an upcoming refreshed model of an existing smartphone lineup as well.

Back in June 2022, the blogger had also revealed some other details regarding this smartphone. Back then, he mentioned the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, since the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 hadn’t been announced. During that time, we had assumed that the smartphone could be a part of the Black Shark 5S series, which will be the latest flagship entry from the Chinese brand.

The ASUS ROG Phone 6 series is slated to debut on July 5. Rivalling gaming phone brands such as Nubia and Black Shark are expected to launch flagship gaming smartphones, such as the Red Magic 7S and the Black Shark 5S series, in the coming weeks. A new leak by Digital Chat Station has revealed what to expect from the Black Shark 5 series.

Black Shark 5S, 5S Pro specifications (rumored)

The Black Shark 5S series will feature a pressure-sensitive 6.67-inch OLED panel with a centrally positioned punch-hole. It will have support for an FHD+ resolution and a high refresh rate. It will probably support a 144Hz refresh rate like the Black Shark 5 series.

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset will be present under the hood of the Black Shark 5S duo. The tipster claims that it will be coupled with a new SSD storage technology. It will pack a 4,790mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.

The Black Shark 5S duo will have a triple camera unit. The vanilla model will feature a 64-megapixel main camera, whereas the Pro model could be equipped with a 108-megapixel camera. Other features that will be available in the Black Shark 5S lineup include an x-axis linear motor, dual linear stereo speakers, and dual magnetic pop-up triggers.

The Black Shark 5S series may come preinstalled with Android 12 OS and Joy UI 13. It may continue to feature a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

The Black Shark 5, Black Shark 5 Pro, and Black Shark 5 RS went official at the end of March this year. The company may launch the Black Shark 5S series at least six months after the Black Shark 5 lineup. Hence, it is likely that the 5S models may break cover by September’s end.

The NBTC listing in Thailand shows both the base model and the Pro variant as well. The certification showcases the SHARK PAR-HOTH for the vanilla model and the top end model is listed as SHARK KTUS-HO. Since the global launch is set for June 8, it isn’t surprising to see their appearance on an online database. Talking about the upcoming gaming smartphones, both models feature a 6.57 inch AMOLED display that has a Full HD+ resolution, 1300 nits of peak brightness, DC Dimming, HDR10+, 144Hz refresh rate, and a 720 Hz touch sampling rate.

The smartphones also features a dual zone pressure sensitive panel on the front and are basically built to offer an improved mobile gaming experience. Under the hood, the Black Shark 5 Pro is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Soc, while the vanilla packs the Snapdragon 870 SoC. Due to their powerful internal specs and gaming focus, the two phones also come with a VC cooling system to manage thermals as well as dedicated trigger buttons to assist in gameplay.

On the back, the 5 Pro features a triple camera setup with a 108 megapixel primary sensor, a 13 megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and a 5 megapixel telephoto shooter. Meanwhile, the base model has a 64 megapixel primary sensor, 13 megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and a 2 megapixel macro sensor. Although, both phones house a 16 megapixel selfie camera on the front. These phones are powered by a 4,650mAh battery pack that supports 120W fast charging and run on Android 12 OS based JoyUI 13 out of the box.

Now, it appears that the company also has plans to launch the smartphones in the European market as a new report from Appuals has revealed the storage, color options, and renders of the upcoming Europe models.

According to the report, the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro will both be available in two configurations –  8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. The vanilla variant will be available in Black and Grey colors while the Pro model will debut with Black and White color options.

Besides POCO, Civi and Redmi, the Xiaomi company also has another sub-brand called Black Shark, which sells powerful smartphones with bold designs aimed at the avid gaming smartphone market.

After launching the Black Shark 5 series back in China two months ago, the brand is finally bringing the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro to its first global market – Malaysia. The new devices will be launched officially on June 8th (Wednesday) in the country at 7 pm Malaysia Time (UTC +8) / 4:30 pm Indian Time (UTC +5:30). 

Black Shark is expected to announce the pricing and pre-order promotions for the Black Shark 5 series on the day. The launch event will be officially livestreamed via Black Shark Malaysia official social media channels which are on Facebook and TikTok.

As for the specs of the Black Shark 5 series, we expect the global variants of the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro to be same as the variants that were announced back in March 30 in China.

In China, the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro both come with a 6.67-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with variable refresh rates of up to 144Hz. The display is a Samsung E4 AMOLED panel with 1300 nits of max brightness, DC dimming, HDR10+ support, and 100% coverage of the P3 colour gamut. The devices also have a 720Hz touch sampling rate and a dual-zone pressure-sensitive screen that can improve the gaming experience on your smartphone.

Performance-wise, the Black Shark 5 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 + SSD storage. This UFS + SSD combination of storage is what Xiaomi calls – Disk Array 2.0 technology, and thanks to it, the read and write speeds for the 5 Pro have increased by 55% and 69% respectively. 

Meanwhile, the standard Black Shark 5 has the Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Both gaming devices pack a 4,650mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging technology, and the company claims that the phones can be fully charged in just 15 minutes. The charger comes included in the box, and the device arrives out of the box with Black Shark’s JoyUI 13 based on Android 12.

Black Shark 5 series goes official offering 4 chipset options

The Black Shark 5 series was unveiled last week consisting of three models. Customers can select from four different chipset options and slightly varying specs.

The vanilla model is powered by Snapdragon 870, whereas the Pro model houses the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Then, there’s an RS model, which comes in Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 888+ variants.

The RS version looks identical to the Black Shark 4/4S series. On the other hand, the other two models sport a new design. Apart from the cameras, the rest of the specs are more or less the same on all three.

As far as pricing is concerned, the Black Shark 5, 5 Pro, 5 RS start at ¥2,799 ($440), ¥4,199 ($660), and ¥3,299 ($518) respectively in China.

Two new Redmi Note 11s and Redmi 10s

Xiaomi launched two new Redmi Note 11s called Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G and Redmi Note 11S for select international markets. The former is the same as the model sold in China, whereas the latter is a rebranded Redmi Note 11 5G from China and it also goes by the name of POCO M4 Pro 5G in some regions. Additionally, the vanilla Redmi Note 11 got a Xiaomi Fan Festival Special Edition.

The company also unveiled a device called Redmi 10 5G for global markets. This phone is called Redmi Note 11E 5G in China. 

Last but not least, Xiaomi also took wraps off the Redmi 10A in China. It is nothing but a refreshed Redmi 9A with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a different rear design.

Samsung partners with iFixit for a self-repair program

In November 2021, Apple announced a self-repair program for its iPhones. Following the trendsetter, last week, Samsung launched its version of the self-repair program in collaboration with iFixit.

The South Korean electronics giant’s initiative is currently limited to the Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy S21 series, and Galaxy Tab S7+. The program provides authentic parts, repair tools, and repair guides to the customers.

We expect more companies to introduce their self-repair program as part of the ‘right to repair.’

Chrome v100 is here

Last week, the world’s popular internet browser, Google Chrome, hit version 100 on all the platforms — Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and Linux, At the same time, Chrome OS also got updated to version 100 since it is based on Chrome browser.

Talking about changes, the latest version of the browser arrives with new iconography,  multi-screen window placement API, and no more ‘Lite Mode’ on Android as well as iOS.

Black Shark 5 RS is the third device in the series and stands in between the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro that launched today. Unlike the other two devices, the 5 RS retains the old Black Shark 4S design and brings some improvements.

The Black Shark 5 RS costs CNY 3,299(~$520) for the 8GB + 256GB variant and CNY 3799(~$599) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. It has a Black and Green shade. It will go on sale in online and offline markets from April 2.

Black Shark 5 RS Specifications 

The Black Shark 5 RS sports a 6.67-inch punch-hole with a Full-HD+(2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. It is an E4 AMOLED panel with a 720Hz touch sampling rate, 1300 nits peak brightness, and a DCI-P3 color gamut.

Black Shark on Wednesday launched the all-new Black Shark 5 gaming smartphone series in China. The series comprises the vanilla Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro. Both bring a new design as opposed to the predecessors and have the latest hardware in their sleeves. The phones come with the fancy SharkEye RGB light effect at the back and the Pro bags DXOMark’s top-ranked speaker setup.

Black Shark 5 Series Pricing and Colors

The Black Shark 5 starts at CNY 2,799(~$441) for the 8GB + 128 variant, CNY 2999(~$472) for the 12GB + 128GB variant, and CNY 3,299(~$520) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The phone comes in Black, Dawan White, and Exploration Gray colors.

The Black Shark 5 Pro is priced at CNY 4,199(~$661) for the 8GB + 25GB variant, CNY 4,699(~$740) for the 12GB + 256GB variant, and CNY 5,499(~$866) for the 16GB + 512GB variant. It has Meteorite Black and Tiangong White colors.

Black Shark 5, Black Shark 5 Pro Specifications 

The Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro come with a 6.67-inch FHD+(2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with up to 144Hz refresh rate. It is a Samsung E4 AMOLED panel with 1300 nits of max brightness, DC dimming, and 100% P3 color gamut. It has HDR10+ support and 1.07 billion colors. The screen has a 720Hz touch sampling rate and has a dual-zone pressure-sensitive screen which is said to be useful for gamers. The display also has SGS Blu-ray certification and an 8.3ms multi-finger touch response delay.

The Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 and 512GB UFS 3.1 + SSD storage. This combination of storage is called the Disk Array 2.0 technology, and thanks to it, the read and write speeds have increased by 55% and 69%, respectively. The vanilla Black Shark 5 has the Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The Pro’s AnTuTu scores were revealed and it has scored 1,129,716 points on the test. The duo has a VC cooling system and the Pro packs a 5320mm² large VC area. Since both are gaming phones, they have magnetic lift-up shoulder trigger buttons offering a better gaming experience.

The duo has a triple camera system with the Pro having a 108MP Samsung S5KHM2 main lens, a 13MP OmniVision OV13B10 ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP Samsung S5K5E9 telephoto lens. The vanilla Black Shark 5 has a 64MP main lens, + a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. Upfront, both have a 16MP sensor for selfies.

The phones house a 4,650mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging technology. The company claims that the phone can be fully charged in just 15 minutes. The Pro comes with a speaker setup that scored an impressive 86 points on the DXOMARK audio test. Both phones boot on Android 12 OS and have JoyUI 13 on top. As for connectivity, there’s Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth v5.2.
