Earlier today (25th May 2023), Realme officially announced that it has appointed Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan as its new brand ambassador. The company is bringing aboard the popular actor just ahead of the Realme 11 Pro series launch in India.

The Chinese smartphone maker had just recently launched the Realme 11 series in its home market of China, and is gearing up to release the Pro models in the Indian market next month. The leaked images offers us a look at what appears to be an ongoing advertisement shoot. In the set, we can see Realme and Shah Rukh Kkhan’s names written on the back of the chairs. Chinese technology brand Realme has announced the appointment of Indian cricketer KL Rahul as its brand ambassador for smartphones. The company says that the partnership will further complement the brand’s attitude of setting new benchmarks, inspiring thousands of millennials across the country.

Last year, the company had appointed Bollywood star Salman Khan as the brand ambassador and the first devices endorsed by the actor were the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro smartphone models.

Commenting on the new partnership with KL Rahul, Chief Marketing Officer of India, Europe, and Latin America, Francis Wong, said: “We are optimistic that the partnership will add unprecedented value to the smartphone category since we will also be able to target the massive fan following Rahul enjoys. Realme was first introduced in 2018 as a sub-brand of OPPO but it was later split into an independent company. Last month, the company revealed that it has become the fourth-largest smartphone brand from China and has even managed to reach the sixth spot in the global rankings. Black Shark 4 gaming smartphone’s design teased by Brand Ambassador Peng Yuchang

Black Shark, the Xiaomi-backed gaming smartphone maker is gearing up to launch its next-generation smartphone on 23rd March. Ahead of that, the company has announced that actor Peng Yuchang has become its new Brand Ambassador.

Making the announcement, the company shared a poster on its official Weibo account, which shows Peng Yuchang holding the upcoming Black Shark 4 gaming smartphone. This also reveals the design of the device.

It showcases the smartphone in a Black-colored design with a big ‘X’ pattern covering the back panel. We also see the camera module with three sensors aligned horizontally along with an LED flash at the top-center position.

The company is expected to launch smartphones — Black Shark 4 and Black Shark 4 Pro. Both of them are expected to feature a 6.67-inch display that may carry support for a 144Hz refresh rate. The standard model is expected to have Full HD+ screen resolution while the Pro model is likely to support Quad HD+ resolution.

Under the hood, the vanilla model is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC while the Pro variant will be packed with the flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset. The top-end model in the lineup could pack a massive 18GB of RAM as both of its competitors — Red Magic 6 Pro and ASUS ROG Phone 5 Ultimate has 18GB RAM.

In the camera department, the primary sensor in the Pro variant could be 108-megapixel while that of the standard model could be 48-megapixel. The devices are expected to run the Android 11 operating system out-of-the-box and powered by a 4,500mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.

OnePlus appoints Zhou Xun and Hu Ge as Brand Ambassador for the OnePlus 9 series

OnePlus is all set to launch its next-generation flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 9 series on 23rd March, and the company will launch the same in the Chinese market on 24th March at Shanghai Oriental Sports Center at 2:00 PM local time.

Today, the company has announced that the actress Zhou Xun and actor Hu Ge have become the Brand Ambassador for the OnePlus smartphones. In the poster, both of them can be seen holding the upcoming OnePlus 9 Pro smartphone.

As for the specifications of the upcoming flagship smartphone, it has been confirmed that the Pro variant supports a variable refresh rate that drops as low as 1Hz and supports up to 120Hz. There’s a Smart 120Hz mode that reduces consumption by up to 50%.

The standard model is expected to come with a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen while the Pro 5G may feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED QHD+ screen. Under the hood, both the devices will come powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform, coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

The smartphones are expected to feature a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The Hasselblad branded rear camera system of the OnePlus 9 5G includes a 48-megapixel Sony IMX789 primary camera, and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 ultrawide snapper, and probably a telephoto lens. The Pro model has a quad-camera setup that includes a Sony IMX789 48-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 superwide sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 2-megapixel depth helper.

The OnePlus 9 5G and 9 Pro 5G may feature a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. A recent leak claimed that the Pro model will support 50W wireless charging. There is a possibility that the standard variant may come with 30W charging.

Recently, it has been leaked that the OnePlus 9 5G will come in Stellar Black, Arctic Sky, and Winter Mist colors while the Pro variant will be offered in three colors — Astral Black, Morning Mist, and Pine Green.

OPPO signs Dongyu Zhou as a new Brand Ambassador

Chinese smartphone brand OPPO has today announced that the company has signed Dongyu Zhou as a brand ambassador. While the company has not yet confirmed this, but given the timing of the announcement, it seems that she will be the brand ambassador for the upcoming OPPO Reno5 series smartphones.

Dongyu Zhou is a Chinese actress who has won the Golden Horse Best Actress Award as well as a Best Actress award from Hong Kong Film Awards. Earlier this year, Forbes ranked her 3rd in its China Celebrity 100 list.

As for her alliance with OPPO, it seems that the cooperation could be related to the upcoming device’s beautification features. It is being speculated that the company could launch a new technology for the camera and beautification features with the upcoming OPPO Reno5 series devices.

While the company has not yet revealed the launch date for the Reno5 lineup, the leak of the key specifications, devices getting certified in China, and the announcement of the brand ambassador indicate that the launch is just days away.

Redmi appoints Wang Yibo as the Global Ambassador for the brand

After making major changes to the company’s senior leadership, Xiaomi has now announced a new brand ambassador for its Redmi brand as well as the company’s upcoming flagship series Redmi K30.

The company has today confirmed by sharing a poster that it has appointed Chinese actor Wang Yibo as the brand ambassador. In the poster, he is seen holding the upcoming Redmi K30 smartphone.

For those who are unaware, Wang Yibo is a Chinese actor and singer and he is also a member of South Korean-Chinese boyband UNIQ. Wang has also received recognition for his role as Lan Wangji in the drama The Untamed and is ranked 71st on Forbes China Celebrity 100 list in 2019.

The Redmi K30 smartphone will come with a punch-hole display which will include a dual front camera inside so that the bezels will be very narrow even though there will not be a notch. Another official teaser shows us the rear camera setup which includes four camera sensors arranged vertically.

The smartphone will come with a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display and will reportedly have 120Hz refresh rate. However, it seems that the 120Hz will be limited to the Pro variant while the standard Redmi K30 will have 60Hz display.

It is expected to have Full HD+ screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 29:9 aspect ratio, while the fingerprint reader will be side-mounted since the display will be LCD. There will also be the Gorilla Glass 5 protection, not the latest Corning’s standard but still sturdy.

The phone will come with support to 5G connectivity, but unlike all the other 5G phones launched until now, the 5G variant will not be powered by a Qualcomm SoC. It will pack the first MediaTek’s 5G chipset with flagship-class specifications — Dimensity 1000 which includes a 5G modem.

According to rumors, the Redmi K30 will also come in a version with 4G connectivity only packing a less powerful Snapdragon 730G chipset, which is an advanced version of the SoC found on the predecessor Redmi K20.

The quad-camera setup on the back consists Sony IMX686 sensor with a 60-megapixel resolution, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with optical zoom and a 2-megapixel sensor. On the front side, the device will have a 32-megapixel sensor and an additional ToF sensor for 3D facial recognition.

The device is expected to pack a battery from 4,500mAh battery to 5,000mAh and the company will reportedly offer 27W fast charging technology, not the fastest one but still satisfying. The Redmi K20 smartphone supports 18W fast charging which is even slower.
