Vivo has silently unveiled a new entry-level phone called the Vivo Y02. It has arrived as the successor to the Vivo Y01, which went official earlier this year. The Y02 is positioned lower than the Vivo Y02s, which went official in August this year.

Vivo Y02 specifications and features

The Vivo Y02 features a 6.51-inch IPS LCD waterdrop notch display that produces an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The camera island present on the phone’s back has a round-shaped module, which houses an 8-megapixel camera and an LED flash.

The official listing only says that the Vivo Y02 is powered by an octa-core processor. Leaked information from the past few days shows that it is powered by the Helio P22 chip, which came out in 2018.

The SoC is coupled with 2 GB / 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. For more storage, the device is equipped with a microSD card slot. It houses a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging via microUSB 2.0.

The entry-level phone runs on Android 12 (Go edition). It offers other features like dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It lacks a fingerprint scanner. The device measures 163.99 x 75.63 x 8.49mm and weighs around 186 grams.

In comparison, the Vivo Y02s is equipped with the Helio P35 chipset and features a USB-C port for charging. It also comes with up to 4 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of storage. The rest of the specs are identical on both smartphones.

The Vivo Y02 is priced at IDR 1,499,000 ($95). It comes in Orchid Blue and Cosmic Grey colors. The device is expected to release in other Asian markets including in the new few days.

Transsion Holdings subsidiary Tecno Mobile has got a stronghold on the Nigerian market due to its towering reputation of offering decent smartphones at a highly affordable price tag. So it shouldn’t be a surprise if we tell you that the Chinese company has silently unveiled the Spark 8 smartphone in Nigeria.

Tecno Spark 8 is the successor to the Spark 7 that was launched in April this year packing an Helio A25 chipset. The device is a budget smartphone with entry-level specs. The new Spark 8 features an improved Helio P22 chipset paired with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

On the design aspect, the Spark 8 sports a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with an HD+ resolution of 1600 X 720 pixels. This display utilizes a waterdrop notch design which houses the 8-megapixels selfie camera. At the rear, the device features a refreshed design that includes an abnormally wide square module. The module not only houses a dual-camera setup and quad-Led flash, it also holds the rear fingerprint sensor.  The extra space can fit four more camera sensors of the same size, pun intended.

The dual-camera setup consists of a 16-megapixels main sensor and a QVGA lens. The device also avails users the opportunity to expand the storage via a microSD card slot. It runs on the Android 11 Go edition. Keeping the lights on is a massive 5000mAh battery with support for 10W charging via a micro USB port.

As for the price, the Tecno Spark 8 is reportedly on sale in Nigeria for 55,000 Nigerian Naira (about $130). We have no idea when Tecno will release this model in other markets but we expect it to launch in India soon, going by precedence.

A recent leak by reliable tipster Evan Blass revealed that the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite will be sporting an 8.4-inch display. The low-budget tablet is expected to feature an LCD screen.

HMD Global will be announcing a launch event on April 8^th. Rumors have it that the company will announce Nokia X10, Nokia X20, and Nokia G10 smartphones. The initial report on G10 claimed that it will be arriving as a gaming-focused phone. However, its Geekbench listing tells a different story as it has been spotted with a low-powered chipset. At the same time, a new report by Nokia Power User has revealed the key details of a new phone named the Nokia G20, which may arrive with the G10.

The Nokia G10’s has scored 150 in the single-core test and 858 in the multi-core. The handset recorded such low scores because it is equipped with an Helio P22 chipset, which is mentioned with the MT6762 model number in the listing. The SoC is supported by 4 GB of RAM and it runs on Android 11 OS.

It is speculated that the handset has a 6.4-inch HD+ display, a 48-megapixel quad-camera system, a 16-megapixel selfie camera, 3GB / 4GB RAM, 32 GB / 64 GB storage, a 4,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. It may arrive in blue and purple color editions.

According to NPU, its source has revealed that the Nokia G20, which will be positioned higher than the G10, will feature a more powerful MediaTek chip. Without mentioning the details, it claimed the Nokia G20 will come with better cameras than the G10.

The publication claims that the Nokia G10 and G20 will bear some similarities with the Nokia 5.4. It calls the G10 a low-priced Nokia 5.4 alternative. On the other hand, the G20 is expected to offer a few better specs than the Nokia 5.4.

Motorola has recently launched the Motorola Moto E6i smartphone in Brazil. The Lenovo-owned company is expected to launch three new phones such as Moto E7 Power, Moto G10, and Moto G30 in the next few days. The Geekbench listing shows that the Motorola Moto E7 Power handset is driven by the MT67672V/WB (Helio P22) chipset and 4 GB of RAM. The listing contradicts a recent leak by Winfuture.de that claimed that the device is driven by the Helio G25 chipset. However, leaked information that was shared by TechnikNews earlier this month claimed that the E7 Power is powered by the Helio P22 chipset.

Last year in June, LG unveiled three W-series smartphones such as the LG W10, LG W30, and LG W30 Pro in India. Recent reports have revealed that the South Korean company is working on the LG W31 smartphone. The arrival of the LG W31 seems to be close at hand as it has appeared with its key specifications and an image at the Google Play Console.

The LG W31 Google Play Console listing shows that its display delivers an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The image of the phone reveals that it is equipped with a waterdrop notch display. The exact size of the screen is not mentioned. Since it is a budget-friendly device, it is likely to sport an LCD screen. The handset is preinstalled with Android 10 OS.

The MediaTek MT6762 i.e. the Helio P22 chipset is present under the hood of the device. The SoC is coupled with 4 GB of RAM. Now that the phone has appeared at the Google Play Console, it is likely to go official soon in the coming weeks.

Infinix is gearing up to launch the Infinix Note 7 in India which was originally announced in April this year. The company confirmed that the Infinix Note 7 will be launching in India on Sept. 16. In April, the Chinese brand had announced the Infinix Note 7 Lite model along with Note 7. It is unclear whether the Lite model will be also debuting on Sept. 16.

While the pricing of the Infinix Note 7 for India is not known yet, it is now confirmed that it will be made available through Flipkart. The newly announced Moto E6s has waterdrop notch screen that delivers a tall aspect ratio. The rear side of the device features a dual camera. Being a low-budget series smartphone, the Moto E6s is packed with modest specifications.

The triple-camera setup on the Tecno Camon 12 Air includes a 16-megapixel primary lens with an aperture rating of f/1.8, a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 5-megapixel 120-degree wide-angle sensor with quad-LED flash. The Blade A7s is the latest entry-level ZTE phone to go official in China. The smartphone is an upgraded version of the Blade A7 phone that was made official in the country in May this year. The major selling features of the Blade A7s are tall aspect ratio display, triple rear cameras and big battery.

The ZTE Blade A7s sports a polycarbonate body with glossy appeal. It measures 155 x 72.7 x 8.95mm and weighs 164 grams. The right edge of the phone has volume up and down buttons and a red colored power key. On the screen side, it comes with a 6.088-inch display with waterdrop notch. The large-sized battery that can last for 2 days on single charge promises 29 hours of local music playback, 15 hours of web browsing and 10 hours of online video playback.

The Coolpad Cool 5 has launched in India. It is a budget smartphone that takes on the Vivo U10, Redmi 8A and the Realme 5 in the subcontinent. The device is the successor to the Coolpad Cool 3 that was introduced in the country earlier this year. Pankaj Upadhyay, the Online Business Head of Coolpad India issued a statement at the launch event saying, “We are very optimistic about sales picking up during this festive season. Our marketing investment is roughly 7% of the total revenue gathered during online and offline sales between July and September this year. We expect a major growth in sales, and have set a target of 100,000 units, which is 10x the target for 2018”.

Motorola announced the Moto E6 Plus last week at the IFA 2019 in Berlin, Germany. The Lenovo-owned tech giants confirmed that the smartphone would be available soon. Shortly after the announcement, Motorola India has started teasing the E6 Plus, and the device is now listed on e-retailer Flipkart with the hashtag #AbNoCompromise. A few key details of the device are available on the listing. Flipkart has teased an image of the Moto E6 Plus with the caption “Can You Guess the Price?” The Lenovo-owned company has also scheduled a launch event in India on Sept. 16. The company is likely to announce the Moto E6 Plus on the said date.

The Moto E6 Plus features a 6.1-inch HD+ Max Vision notched display with a resolution of 1560 x 720 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The device is powered by a 2 GHz MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core chipset that tags along with PowerVR CE8320 GPU. The device features 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 512GB with a microSD card.

The Moto E6 Plus boasts of a dual camera setup at the rear. The primary lens is a 13-megapixel unit, which works in conjunction with a 2-megapixel sensor and an LED flash module. The secondary camera is an 8-megapixel unit and is housed within the front notch. The E6 Plus is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery and features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 820.11 a/b/g. Micro USB, GPS/A-GPS and a 3.5mm AUX port. The smartphone measures 155.6 x 73.1 x 8.6 mm and weighs 149.7 grams. The device boasts of P2i water-repellent nano coating.

Motorola E6 Plus Price

There is no word on the official pricing for India as of yet. But, the Moto E6 Plus was showcased at the Berlin IFA with a price tag of 139 euros (~$154), which roughly translates to Rs. 11,000. At that price point, the device will have to fight against stiff competition from Xiaomi and Realme in India.
