The Chinese brand has begun expanding its portfolio to other regions and has started releasing global versions of its phones that can be purchased from online stores in China. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-note-9/">Meizu Note 9</a> for example already has a global version. However, there are complaints about Meizu&#8217;s lack of support for the global version of its phones.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-97057" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-logo-e1515506962922.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu logo" width="299" height="153" /></p>
<p>A Meizu user based in France reached out to us to lament about the situation. Alexandre who is also a reseller of Meizu smartphones wrote a post on the official Meizu forum complaining about the company&#8217;s poor software support for the global version of its phones.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-245619" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Meizu-16th-poor-software-support.jpg?x10805" alt="Meizu 16th poor software support" width="480" height="1810" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Meizu-16th-poor-software-support.jpg 480w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Meizu-16th-poor-software-support-111x420.jpg 111w" sizes="(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px" /></p>
<p>Citing the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16/">Meizu 16th</a> which he owns as an example, he said the 2018 flagship has only been updated once since its release and the said update fixed just a single bug.</p>
<p>In his post, he disclosed how the admins of the global forums don&#8217;t listen to user complaints or collect details on bugs. He also mentioned that forum admins have revealed on private groups that Meizu&#8217;s global department is “almost dead” and developers no longer care about the brand.</p>
<p>It is sad to see Meizu is failing to provide great services for its users. Software support is very important and makes for an important aspect of after-sales services for a phone. If a manufacturer is known for poor software support or after-sales services in general, buyers will avoid patronizing them.</p>
<p>If Meizu is serious about its business and respects its fans, we expect it to address these issues as quickly as possible.</p>

Now, ahead of the launch of these new devices, the Meizu 16th and 16th Plus have received a price cut.</p>
<p>With this price cut, the Meizu 16th will be available for 2,298 Yuan (approximately $342) for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage model while the 16th Plus will be available for 2,698 Yuan (approximately $401) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model.</p>

<p>Both the smartphones were launched in August last year, featuring an 18:9 aspect ratio display. The phones are powered by Qualcomm&#8217;s Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor and come with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.</p>
<p>In the camera department, the phone features a 12 MP dual cameras on the rear and a 20MP shooter on the front side for selfies and video calling. The smartphones run Android Oreo operating system out-of-the-box with the company&#8217;s own Flyme OS on top.</p>
<p>As said, the price cut comes just ahead of the launch of Meizu 16s smartphone. It is expected to come equipped with a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ screen resolution support and an in-display fingerprint sensor.</p>
<p>Recently leaked renders reveal that the Meizu 16s will be arriving with a vertical dual camera setup and the phone&#8217;s benchmarking listing has now confirmed that it will be featuring a 48-megapixel primary sensor. This was soon followed by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/30/lenovo-z5-render-shows-gradient-glass-back-will-mark-the-rebirth-of-the-zuk-series/">Lenovo on the Z5</a> and not too long ago OPPO launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/08/23/oppo-r17-launched-with-sd-670-onscreen-fingerprint-gradient-back-and-gorilla-glass-6/">OPPO R17</a> with a variant having the gradient colour. Meizu also joined the pack with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/19/meizu-16th-aurora-blue-gradient-color-edition/">launch of the Meizu 16th Aurora Blue gradient colour variant today</a>. Here are some breathtaking pictures of the device released on the company&#8217;s official Weibo account.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16th-aurora-4.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-212779" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16th-aurora-4.jpg?x10805" alt="Meizu 16th Aurora Blue gradient colour variant" width="690" height="460" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16th-aurora-4.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16th-aurora-4-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>The Aurora variant glitters based on how the light reflects on the elegant glass back. The gradient transmutes between a light and dark shade of Blue, hence it is called Aurora Blue. The pattern on the fine glass back of the device adds some more beauty to the already elegant Meizu 16th flagship.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16th-aurora.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-212775" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16th-aurora.jpg?x10805" alt="Meizu 16th Aurora" width="690" height="460" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16th-aurora.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16th-aurora-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>The model retains the design features of the Meizu 16th which includes a vertically aligned dual rear camera setup with a ring flash just underneath. The device also has the Meizu logo at the back. The front design isn&#8217;t in anyway affected by the new gradient colour. You get a full-screen design with ultra-thin black bezels at the edges. This new colour variant joins the previous two variants of  Night black and Mountain White that was announced last month.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16th-aurora-2.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-212777" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16th-aurora-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Meizu 16th Aurora Blue gradient colour" width="690" height="460" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16th-aurora-2.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16th-aurora-2-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>

The Chinese company has revealed the new Meizu 16th Aurora Blue gradient color edition. It&#8217;s Meizu&#8217;s maiden gradient colored device, namely Meizu 16th Aurora Blue color. Last month, Meizu<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/19/meizu-16x-launched-with-in-screen-fingerprint-sd710-comes-in-a-special-ceramic-white-color/"> launched the Meizu 16th</a> with the high-end Snapdragon 845 SoC at the price of 2698 Yuans ( ~$393) with two color option, Night black and Mountain White. The latest edition will add a charm to the Meizu 16th wardrobe.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-212617 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16th-Gradient-Color-1024x436.jpeg?x10805" alt="" width="640" height="273" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16th-Gradient-Color-1024x436.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16th-Gradient-Color-300x128.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16th-Gradient-Color-768x327.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16th-Gradient-Color-1175x500.jpeg 1175w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16th-Gradient-Color.jpeg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p>New Meizu 16th Aurora Blue edition got its colors from an advanced photo-sputtering process, which allows the preset color plate onto the glass and reflect the light to give the radiant effect. It&#8217;s much better and improved way of giving gradient color to devices than the glass film process. It&#8217;s even 300% costlier than the primitive process. Overall, the new gradient color has given consumers another great color option for Meizu 16th.</p>
<p>Meizu has priced the Meizu 16th Aurora Blue gradient edition at 2798 yuans, which is 100 Yuans more than the standard version. You have to fetch 2798 Yuans (roughly translates to $408) from your pocket to buy the 6+ 64GB variant, while the 6GB+ 128 GB internal storage variant is going for 2998 Yuans (~$437). The highest with the 8+ 256 GB internal will be available for 3398 Yuans (~$496).</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-212616 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16th-Gradient-Color-b-1024x436.jpeg?x10805" alt="Meizu 16th Gradient Color b" width="640" height="273" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16th-Gradient-Color-b-1024x436.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16th-Gradient-Color-b-300x128.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16th-Gradient-Color-b-768x327.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16th-Gradient-Color-b-1175x500.jpeg 1175w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16th-Gradient-Color-b.jpeg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p>Additionally, Meizu 16th is a high end device with the Snapdragon 845 on the board. It features a 18:9 ratio 6 inch Super AMOLED display panel having 12 MP dual cameras on the rear with 20MP shooter on the fron for selfies. The handset receives power from 3,010mAh battery.
