Motorola Android smartphones have been running near to stock Android ever since Google bought it. The trend followed even when the company was sold to Lenovo. However, the pace of updates weakened over the years. To fix it, the brand joined the Android One program and the first phone in the series, as a result, was Motorola One. But still, this device is receiving its Android 10 stable update six months after Google released it to the public.

The Motorola One was launched in October 2018 with Android 8.1 Oreo on board. It is a rebadged Motorola P30 Play sold in China for the international markets. The handset received the Android 9.0 update after two months from its launch (December 2018). Actually, the brand could have launched the phone with Android Pie out of the box as the latest version of Android at that time was announced two months prior to the phone’s launch (August 2018).

As an Android One device, the Motorola One is supposed to get two system updates and three years of security patches. And thus, the company has finally started seeding out the Android 10 update to this handset but late as usual. As of now, the update is only available in Brazil.

The Android 10 update for Motorola One comes with build number QPK30.54-22 and February 2020 security patch. As the brand is seeding out the last beta build as the stable update to the public, the security patch is older. If you are using the Brazilian model, you can download the official fastboot update file and install it manually from the link provided below. Or else, wait till the OTA notification hits your device to install it automatically.

On the other hand, its top houses the selfie camera module and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Along with the Moto G7 smartphone launch in India, the China-based Lenovo-owned company also launched the Motorola One smartphone in the Indian market. The device was originally launched in August last year.

The Motorola One is the company’s first smartphone to feature a notched display. It comes with a 5.9-inch IPS LCD display that supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels along with 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device is powered by Snapdragon 625 chipset, coupled with 4GB of RAM.

The phone packs 64GB of internal storage and come with a microSD card slot, allowing users to further expand the phone’s storage capacity up to 256GB. In the camera department, the phone is equipped with a dual camera setup consisting of a 13 MP primary sensor and a 2 MP secondary sensor.

On the front side, the device is equipped with an 8 MP snapper for taking selfies and video calling, which is housed inside the notch. There’s also a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, embedded under the company’s logo. It also has a P2i nano-coating for ensuring splash-resistance.

Since the phone is a part of Google’s Android One program, it runs on the stock version of Android Oreo operating system out-of-the-box and is confirmed to receive software updates at a faster pace for 2 years. The company has already released the Android Pie update for the smartphone.

Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, and USB Type-C port. The phone is powered by a 3,000mAh battery which comes with support for 15W Turbo Charging.

Last week, Motorola began rolling out the Android Pie update to its Android One phone, the Motorola One Power. Now the update is rolling out to the smaller and less-powerful Motorola One.

According to XDA-Developers, the update is rolling out first in Mexico. Other than the new features that Android Pie brigs such as Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness and a new navigation; the update also brings November’s security patch.

The Motorola One has a 5.99-inch HD+ screen, a Snapdragon 625 processor and 4GB of RAM. There is 64GB of storage which can be expanded via a MicroSD card slot (256GB max.).

Motorola had announced the Motorola One Android One smartphone in August. The smartphone has landed in the U.S. with an affordable price tag of $399.

The Motorola One is the first phone from the company to arrive with a notched screen like the iPhone X in the U.S. The handset is equipped with a 5.9-inch IPS LCD display that supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 19:9.

The Snapdragon 625 chipset is present under the hood of the Motorola One smartphone along with 4 GB of RAM. For storage, the handsets an inbuilt space of 64 GB. There is a microSD card slot for expanding its storage. There is a 3,000mAh battery on the device that carries support for fast charging.

Just ahead of the IFA 2018 tech expo in Berlin, Germany, Lenovo-owned Motorola announced One and One Power smartphones. These phones were unveiled with stock version of Android. Today, Motorola has launched the One Power handset with ZUI 4.0 in China with Motorola P30 Note moniker.

Motorola P30 Note specifications and features

Motorola P30 Note features a 6.2-inch IPS LCD panel that carries support for Full HD+ resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. The notched screen carries support for 19:9. The handset measures 156 x 76 x 8.4mm and it weighs 198 grams.

The Snapdragon 636 chipset powers the smartphone. The 64 GB and 128 GB storage versions respectively feature 4 GB and 6 GB of RAM. It comes with a microSD card slot. It is equipped with f/1.8 aperture 16-megapixel + f/2.2 aperture 5-megapixel dual camera setup and a front-facing camera of 12-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture. The dual cameras are equipped with dual-tone LED flash.

Just as mentioned above, there is no difference in terms of specifications of the One Power and the newly unveiled P30 Note smartphone. The handset is preinstalled with ZUI 4.0 flavored version of the Android 8.1 Oreo. It receives power from 5,000mAh battery that carries support for fast charging.

As far as pricing is concerned, the 64 GB + 4 GB and 64 GB + 6 GB models of the P30 Note have arrived in variants like 1,999 Yuan (~$292) and 2,299 Yuan (~$335). Motorola has unveiled two new smartphones today. They are the motorola one and motorola one power and both are Android One phones. Surprisingly, Motorola has decided to give them a silent launch via an official blog post. We want to believe this is because of the flak they got with the Motorola P30.

motorola one

The motorola one isn’t the international equivalent of the Motorola P30. It is actually the Motorola XT1941-2 that showed up on TENAA two weeks ago (with the exception of the processor).

The phone has a 5.99-inch HD+ Max Vision display with a notch at the top. It also has glass on the back. The motorola one is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor. Moto fails to mention the RAM and storage capacity but since this is the same device as the one that showed up on TENAA, we believe it is coming with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage based on its price.

The motorola one has a primary 13MP f/2.0 camera paired with a second 2MP sensor. It can record in 4K and has a bunch of camera modes. The selfie camera is an 8MP f/2.2 sensor and can shoot portrait photos.

There is a 3,000mAh battery under the hood, a fingerprint scanner under the batwing logo, and a USB-C port. It also has a 3.5mm audio jack. It comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box but Motorola has promised that it will receive two updates to the latest version of Android (so Android Pie and hopefully Android Q) and will be among the first to get upgraded to Android 9 Pie after it launches.

The motorola one is priced at €299 (~$349) and will be available in Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific in the coming months.

The motorola one power has a 6.2-inch FHD+ Max Vision display with a 19:9 aspect ratio thanks to the notch at the top. It is powered by the Snapdragon 636 mobile platform with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage.

There are 16MP+5MP dual cameras on the rear and a 12MP sensor within the notch. Motorola doesn’t mention the battery capacity but since the device already showed up on TENAA, we know it has a 4850mAh (~5000mAh battery).

The motorola one has a USB-C port, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, and an audio jack. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo and it will get the same software treatment as the motorola one. So Android 9 Pie as soon as possible and Android Q next year. Both phones will also get three years of monthly security update starting from next month.

Unfortunately, the motorola one power will only be available in India. Motorola hasn’t revealed a price yet. Both phones are also only available in Black.

The Moto G6 Plus was unveiled back in May and one of the biggest changes Motorola (or Lenovo) made to the 6th generation Moto G phone is the switch to an 18:9 display. Today, live photos of another phone also said to be the Moto G6 Plus surfaced online and it is entirely different from the Moto G6 Plus currently sold in the market.

Moto G6 Plus???

The photos show the phone does have reduced bezels to accommodate a taller screen. However, the screen has a notch and this is not the type of notch on the Motorola P30 but the water-drop notch of the OPPO F9 Pro.

The device is powered up and the “About phone” section states the device’s name as the “moto g(6) plus”. It also reveals it has dual SIM support. But that’s not all. At the bottom of the screen, the model and hardware name says “ moto g4”.

A second photo shows the back of the phone. It has a nice-looking reflective red finish. We want to believe it is glass. There are also dual cameras with a black band around them. The entire camera setup maintains a similar circular and raised design as Motorola’s current offerings. However, this Moto G6 Plus has its fingerprint scanner under the batwing logo like that of the Motorola P30.

Probably Moto G6S Plus

While the About Phone section does say it is the Moto G6 Plus, we believe this might be the Moto G6S Plus, a refresh of the Moto G6 Plus and a successor to last year’s Moto G5S Plus.

According to the source, the phone has two variants. There is one with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and another one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It packs a 3,200mAh battery and a Snapdragon 630 processor.

We are not surprised the battery and the processor are the same as that of the Moto G6 Plus. Motorola did the same thing with the Moto G5 Plus and Moto G5S Plus. They changed the design of the phone but kept the processor and battery capacity. Though they did upgrade the cameras.

Only time will tell if this is the Moto G6S Plus or a different device entirely.

Motorola One

The  Moto G6 Plus wasn’t the only phone whose live photo leaked. A photo of a second phone called the “Motorola One” was also posted by the source. The Motorola One has a notch, and it is a wide one like that of the P30.

The About Phone section is also visible and it reveals the phone is running Android 8.1 Oreo with August 2018′ security patch. We want to believe this is the international variant of the Motorola P30, so there is nothing much to talk about.

Lenovo-owned Motorola has recently announced the Motorola P30 smartphone in China. The Chinese manufacturer is expected to launch two other P-series phones such as P30 Note and P30 Play. Recent reports have suggested that the P30 Note could be arriving as Motorola One Power outside of China. Hence, it is speculated that the P30 could be the Motorola One phone. An Indian publication has shared the specifications and press renders of the upcoming Motorola One Power smartphone.

Motorola One Power Specs and Features

The below shown render of the Motorola One Power show that it will be arriving with a unibody design. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether it will be featuring a polycarbonate or metallic chassis. With P2i nano-coating onboard, the Motorola One Power is a liquid repellent device.

The leaked specs sheet of the Motorola One Power shows that it is equipped with a 6.18-inch screen that produces Full HD+ resolution and aspect ratio of 19:9. The handset offers a screen-to-body ratio of 81 percent.

The Snapdragon 636 chipset that includes 1.8 GHz octa-core processor is present under the hood of the smartphone. The handset will be equipped in variants like 32 GB storage + 3 GB RAM and 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM. It also features a microSD card slot. The 5,000mAh battery carries support for 15W fast charging through USB-C.

For photography, the handset is fitted with an LED enabled dual camera setup that includes 16-megapixel primary sensor with a pixel size of 1.12micron and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. It is fitted with a 12-megapixel front-facing camera with 1.25micron. The rear-mounted and front-facing cameras are both equipped with LED flash. The front camera doubles up as face unlock feature.

The software of the Motorola One Power has not appeared in this leak. However, the handset could be an Android One device running on stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo. The other features of the smartphone include rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and 3.5mm audio jack.

As of this writing, there is no confirmation on the launch date and pricing of Motorola One Power. Lenovo-owned Motorola brand recently launched the Moto P30 in China with a design that deviates from all known styles of the company. The Moto One came with a notch screen design just like the iPhone X and there are several features that bears semblance with that of Apple’s phones. Unfortunately, the Moto P30 will be sold exclusively in China. However, the device is suspected of hitting the global market as Motorola One and a more powerful variant dubbed Motorola One Power.

The Motorola One has now been spotted on benchmark database Geekbench confirming some of its specs, although unofficially. Among the specs listing is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 CPU paired with 4GB of RAM. In addition, the device on benchmark runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. The models are believed to be launched under Google’s Android One programme so, are expected to get Android 9.0 Pie right from the go or get upgraded to Android Pie at the earliest possible time.

Aside these few specs, Geekbench only gave us the benchmark score of the Motorola One which is basically a Snapdragon 625-grade score. That is 876 points on the single core test and 4299 on the multi-core test. We won’t have to dig too deep for other specs as the device was recently certified by China’s telecoms regulatory agency (TENAA). From the TENAA listing we expect the Motorola One to pack a 6.18-inch display with a resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. It also has a 19: 9 aspect ratio as a result of the notch.

Through the official Weibo account, Motorola has today confirmed that it will be holding an unveil event on Aug. 15 at Wuhan, China. The Lenovo-owned company has recently launched the Moto Z3 smartphone in the U.S. It is speculated that the very same smartphone may get introduced in China through the upcoming launch event. In the recent past, the TENAA telecom regulatory agency in China has approved devices likes Motorola One, One Power, Moto Z3 Play and Moto E5 Plus. Hence, it is likely that the Aug. 15 launch event could be used to announce multiple smartphones.

Shown above is the official poster of the Aug. 15 event by Motorola. Apart from confirming on the launch date, the poster does not reveal any information on the device(s) that will be announced on Aug. 15. Through another Weibo post, the company has hinted that the Moto Z3 that was recently launched in the U.S. may debut in China. Hence, the Moto Z3 is most likely to get unveiled in the coming week. The big number 5 in the above poster could be hinting the 5G Moto Mod that may go official with the Moto Z3.

The Moto Z3 features a 6-inch Super AMOLED display that supports 18:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 835 SoC, 4 GB of RAM and 3,000mAh battery are the driving force of the smartphone. It has an internal storage of 64 GB. The other features of the Moto Z3 include microSD card slot, Android 8.1 Oreo, dual 12-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front camera, side-mounted fingerprint and Moto Mods accessories support.

The TENAA certification has revealed that the Moto Z3 Play is equipped with Snapdragon 636, 4 GB / 6 GB RAM, 64 GB / 128 GB storage, 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup, 8-megapixel front camera and 3,300mAh battery. Like Z3, the Z3 Play is also equipped with Android 8.1 Oreo, 6-inch S-AMOLED display and side-mounted fingerprint reader. The Moto E5 Plus for China may sport better specs than its international model. Its TENAA listing has revealed improved specs like larger 5,000mAh battery and a higher variant with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

The TENAA certifications of Motorola One and One Power phones have revealed that some of their specs will be identical. Both handsets are expected to feature notched screen of 6.18 inches that will support FHD+ resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. They are also speculated to feature 1.8 GHz octa-core processor, 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera and 8-megapixel front camera. It is very likely that the screen that supports 19:9 aspect ratio could be equipped with a notch.

An octa-core processor that has clocking speed between 1.8 GHz and 1.6 GHz is present under the hood of the Motorola XT1943-1. Its RAM variants include 3 GB, 4 GB and 6 GB and its storage models are 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. The handset also features a microSD card slot for additional storage. The two images of a white model of the Motorola smartphone that has appeared today only shows the its rear design. The Android One text is not available on its glass rear and it sport separated dual rear cameras.

The exact identity of this smartphone. Could be non-Android One edition of the Motorola One? In May, it was revealed that Lenovo-owned Motorola would soon launch an Android One smartphone called Motorola One Power. A fresh report on Android Headlines claims that there is another handset called Motorola One. The report also carriers press renders of the smartphone.

The publication claims that its reliable source has revealed the existence of Motorola One smartphone. So, including the One Power phone, there could be two phones in the Motorola One series. There is a possibility that more devices may launch under the Motorola One branding in the near future. It is speculated that the Motorola One and One Power will be debuting as Android One devices. Probably, the Motorola One lineup may only include Android One smartphones.

Compared to Motorola One Power smartphone, the Motorola One will be a smaller device. There is a possibility that One Power may offer longer battery performance. If this information is correct, then the Motorola One phone may sport a slimmer chassis as it may feature a lesser-capacity battery.
