Oppo and Honor are the only major Chinese brands left to unveil their latest flagship smartphones. Lately, more details about these phones are emerging on the internet indicating an imminent launch.

A reliable tipster has now revealed when we can expect these handsets to go official. As per him, both these product lineups will be announced at around the same time. Let’s go through the details.

Oppo Find X6 Pro (Review)

According to Digital Chat Station, the Oppo Find X7 series and the Honor Magic 6 series will launch around January 8-10. This means they will debut before the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.

As per leaks, both the lineups will consist of the following three models each.

Out of all these phones, the vanilla Find X7 will be the only one with a different chipset. It will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC. Whereas, the remaining handsets will house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.

The entire Find X7 series will feature zoom cameras. In fact, the ‘Pro’ and ‘Ultra’ will be equipped with two periscope zoom cameras as opposed to one on the standard model.

The Find X7 Pro will retain the display from its predecessor. It will be fitted with a 6.82-inch quad-curved OLED display offering a QHD+ resolution and 1-120Hz refresh rate (LTPO). It will also come with an alert slider.

On the other hand, the Honor Magic 6 series is said to arrive with an improved ToF 3D face recognition system, a variable aperture camera, a 160MP periscope camera, and an AI model with 7 billion parameters.

Yesterday, tipster Digital Chat Station released a Weibo post in which he mentioned the names of three devices, such as the Find X7, the Find X7 Pro, and the Find X7 Ultra. Reports have claimed that the Find X7 will have the Dimensity 9300 chipset, whereas the Find X7 Pro will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Today, the tipster also shared some information on the X7 Ultra’s chipset and the battery capacities of each of the X7 series models.

It can be said based on the latest leak by DCS that the Find X7 will feature the D9300 chip and a 5,000mAh battery. The Pro model will have the SD8G3 chip and a 4,860mAh battery.

The Find X7 Ultra appears to be an advanced version of the Pro model, as it is tipped to feature the SD8G3 chip and a 5,000mAh battery. The tipster did not mention anything else about the Ultra variant.

It appears that the model that was believed to feature the dual periscope cameras may carry the Ultra branding instead of the Pro. Reports suggest that the X7 Pro will have the most powerful camera setup ever seen on a smartphone, as it is said to feature a new one-inch camera as well as a pair of periscope telephoto cameras. A new leak has explained the camera details of the Find X7 Pro.

Oppo Find X7 Pro camera setup explained

The above image showcases a schematic of the rear camera system of the Find X7 Pro. As can be seen, the device is equipped with four rear-facing cameras. The camera sensor placed on top is said to be the 50-megapixel Sony IMX858 periscope telephoto camera with a 1/2.51-inch sensor size and OIS support. It is expected to support up to 6x optical zoom.

The camera placed in the centre could be a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. It will be a 1/1.56-inch lens with OIS support.

The other two cameras of the Find X7 Pro are the primary lens and an ultra-wide camera. As per reports, it will be the world’s first smartphone to feature the 50-megapixel Sony LYT-900, a one-inch camera that is said to be a revised version of the existing Sony IMX989 one-inch camera. For ultra-wide shots, the device could be equipped with another 50-megapixel camera sensor, which could be the LYT-600. While leaks have not claimed anything about the front camera of the X7 Pro, it is likely to retain the 32-megapixel selfie snapper that was made available on the Find X6 Pro.

According to reports, the Find X7 will feature the Dimensity 9300 SoC, whereas the Pro model will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset onboard. Oppo Find X7 series has received approval from the 3C certification platform, as both the Find X7 and X7 Pro models have emerged in the database of China’s 3C certification platform. With an important certification under the belt, it appears that the Find X7 series may debut in January in China.

The Pro variant also offered 50W wireless charging.

The PHZ110 device is said to be the Find X7, and it has been previously seen in the databases of benchmarking platforms such as AnTuTu and Geekbench. As per reports, the device will ship with a 1.5K OLED display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate, a Dimensity 9300 chipset, 16 GB of LPDDR5T RAM, and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Now that the OnePlus 12 is official, the next major release from the Oppo group will be the Find X7 series. The company is expected to debut these smartphones sometime early next year.

As usual, two main devices are expected, namely Oppo Find X7 and Oppo Find X7 Pro. The ‘pro’ model might come in two variants featuring different chipsets.

We have been hearing about these products for quite a while now. A lot has been revealed about them over the last few months through multiple sources and details keep pouring in. Let’s check out what today’s leak has to say.

Oppo Find X7 Pro

Earlier today, Digital Chat Station disclosed a few tidbits regarding the upcoming Oppo Find X7 Pro. He says that there will be two variants of this phone bearing model numbers PHZ110 and PHY110.

Going by other reports, PHZ110 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. On the other hand, PHY110, which was previously thought to be Oppo Find X7, will house a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC underneath it.

Further, DCS mentions that the Find X7 Pro will feature an alert slider. This will make it the first Find X smartphone to have the iconic three-stage button for sound profiles.

Now, the device has again emerged in live images revealing both the front and back panels.

The newly surfaced leaked live image of the Find X7 Pro reveals a huge octagonal-shaped protruding camera island that was also spotted earlier. The latest image gives us a better look at the module. It houses dual periscope lenses which has been previously rumoured. If this indeed turns out to be true then the Find X7 Pro will be the first smartphone in the world to come with two periscope telephoto cameras. On Nov. 23, the brand will announce the Reno 11 series, but the Find X7 lineup is unlikely to debut this year. The news arrived from known tipster Digital Chat Station, who shared the information on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website). The leaker claims that both premium grade smartphone series will feature a mini chipset for satellite communication technology, proprietary low power calling tech, and heat dissipation for improved performance.

The low power calling feature will likely compliment the satellite communication as an emergency contact method. Oppo confirmed via a teaser today that its “next-generation Find flagship smartphones”, likely the Find X7 and X7 Pro, “will support satellite communication”. It’s not clear if both devices will get this feature or if it will be exclusive to the Pro model.

Satellite communication is becoming a trend in flagship smartphones. Almost all flagship smartphone makers are now interested in including it in their devices, and some, like Apple and Huawei, already have.

According to reports, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Honor, and Huawei are in talks with China Telecom on how to innovate and popularize “mobile phone direct connection to satellite” technology.

This means that it’s likely that more brands, besides Huawei in China, will start adding satellite communication capabilities to their future devices.

For those who are not familiar, satellite communication allows smartphones to communicate even if you have no cellular and WiFi coverage. This is a critical feature for users in remote areas or during emergencies.

Additional details about the Find X7 series

Word on the street is that the Find X7 will feature Dimensity 9300, while the X7 Pro will be feasting on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The Find X7 Pro is also rumored to be sporting Sony’s new LYT-900 Lytia camera sensor.

This initiative aims to lead the way in the realm of computational photography by leveraging aesthetic traction technology and effects.

Key features of HyperTone Camera System

According to Oppo, the HyperTone Image Engine is a revolutionary technology that employs computational photography to address common mobile photography challenges, including distortion. The HyperTone engine incorporates AI denoising in the RAW domain and offers precise pixel brightness correction using photon matrix technology. The result of these advancements is a 30 percent increase in image clarity and a remarkable 60 percent reduction in image noise. The new image processing includes tone mapping control and image fusion with digital negatives.

OPPO, Hasselblad announce the HyperTone camera system

The HyperTone camera system is a combination of hardware and software enhancements comprising three key components:

A little after Qualcomm’s announcement, a host of smartphone brands took to microblogging platforms to reveal their plans to launch devices with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. These include iQOO, Redmi, OnePlus, and more.

OPPO announces next Find X series chipset details

Alongside a host of brands, OPPO also announced its plans to launch a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered smartphone. The company shared the news on microblogging platform Weibo. It revealed that the next generation of the Find X series will be equipped with the latest Qualcomm chipset. It is expected to be the Find X7 series, however, the exact launch timeline remains unknown. Additionally, it remains to be seen which model will get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

OPPO launched the Find X6 series earlier in March this year. It comprises the Find X6 and X6 Pro (review) with only the latter powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The tipster added that the Oppo Find X7 Pro and Find X6 Pro have common features such as a Samsung E6 AMOLED LTPO curved-edge screen that offers a 2K resolution, a peak brightness of 2500 nits, a default 720Hz low-frequency PWM dimming mode and the ability to choose a 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming mod through developer mode.
