<p>According to leaks, the device will be offered in Black, Yellow, Blue, and Green color options. Coming to specs, the POCO M5 is confirmed to feature the new MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. This chip is based on TSMC&#8217;s 6nm node and has an octa-core processor with two cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores with a maximum frequency of 2GHz.</p>

<figure id="attachment_482854" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-482854" style="width: 1920px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-482854 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/poco-m5.webp?x10805" alt="POCO M5" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/poco-m5.webp 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/poco-m5-300x169.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/poco-m5-1024x576.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/poco-m5-768x432.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/poco-m5-1536x864.webp 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/poco-m5-696x392.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/poco-m5-1068x601.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/poco-m5-747x420.webp 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-482854" class="wp-caption-text">POCO M5 render</figcaption></figure>
<p>According to the renders of the POCO M5, the device will be available in Black, Yellow, and Green color options. On the other hand, the POCO M5s will debut in Black, Blue, and White color options. The brand has already confirmed that the vanilla M5 will come with a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset and a 90Hz display. The M5s renders reveal the design of the device, giving credence to the rumors that the M5s will be a rebranded Redmi Note 10S.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-482855 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/POCO-M5s-747x420-1.jpg?x10805" alt="POCO M5s" width="747" height="420" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/POCO-M5s-747x420-1.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/POCO-M5s-747x420-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/POCO-M5s-747x420-1-696x391.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 747px) 100vw, 747px" /></p>
<p>Moving on to storage variants and pricing, the report states that the POCO M5 will be available in 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB configurations. The former is expected to cost EUR 189, while the latter will cost EUR 209. The POCO M5s, on the other hand, will be available in 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB configurations for EUR 229 and EUR 249.</p>
<h3><strong>POCO M5 specifications (rumored)</strong></h3>
<p>The M5 will come with a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset and a 6.58-inch LDC display with FHD+ resolution. A 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging is also expected.</p>
<p>It might have a side-facing fingerprint sensor for security and will likely run MIUI 13 based on Android 12. Other specifications are still under wraps.</p>
<h3><strong>POCO M5s specifications (rumored)</strong></h3>
<p>Assuming that the M5s is indeed a rebranded <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-note-10s/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Redmi Note 10S</a>, it will feature a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. Under the hood, we can expect the Helio G96 SoC complemented by LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.</p>
<p>For optics, the device will have a quad-camera setup made up of a 64MP primary, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. Up front, we&#8217;ll get a 13 MP selfie camera.</p>
<p>Other features may include dual stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a dedicated MicroSD card slot, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IP53 rating, a 5,000mAh battery, and 33W fast charging support.</p>

Reports have claimed that only the M5 will be released in India, and not the M5s. The landing page of the POCO M5 is now available on the Indian retailer site, <a href="https://www.flipkart.com/poco-m5-coming-soon-34fj-ds57-store?param=756542&amp;otracker=clp_bannerads_1_12.bannerAdCard.BANNERADS_A_mobile-phones-store_YIVOT2ELHA3E">Flipkart</a>. The listing confirms that the device will be announced in India at the same time globally. The Indian launch event takes place at 5:30 PM (local time) on Sept. 5. In addition, the microsite has revealed the key specifications and design of the M5.</p>
<p>The POCO M5 can be seen sporting a teardrop notch display on the front. Its back panel has a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/08/24/poco-m5-4g-helio-g99-teaser/">leather-like texture</a>. The camera block houses a dual-camera setup, an LED flash, and a POCO branding. As can be seen in the tweet by POCO India head Himanshu Tandon, the POCO M5 will be available in at least yellow and blue colors.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">
<p lang="en" dir="ltr">Look at this cool &#39;premium leather like&#39; design of <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/POCOM5?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#POCOM5</a>. It&#39;s quite mesmerizing to be honest. Launching on 5th Sep, 5:30pm globally. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/POCOM5?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#POCOM5</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/BuiltToOutperform?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#BuiltToOutperform</a> <a href="https://t.co/bXWD0fK4Bm">pic.twitter.com/bXWD0fK4Bm</a></p>

<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>As far as specifications are concerned, POCO has only confirmed that the POCO M5 will be equipped with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/helio-g99">Helio G99</a>, which is a new 6nm MediaTek chip. It is speculated that the POCO M5 will come in three options: 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage.</p>
<p>The global and Indian POCO M5 variants are likely to pack the same specs. However, the global model may carry support for NFC, while the Indian model will lack support for it.</p>
<p>Rumors are rife that the POCO M5 will feature a 6.58-inch LCD panel that offers a Full HD+ resolution. It may house a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. For security, it seems to be equipped with a side-facing fingerprint scanner.</p>

Now, it appears that the brand is also preparing to launch another model in the region, with the device in question being the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/poco-m5/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">POCO M5 4G</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-475377 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Poco-M4-5G-Featured-B.jpg?x10805" alt="Poco M4 5G" width="1080" height="720" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Poco-M4-5G-Featured-B.jpg 1080w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Poco-M4-5G-Featured-B-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Poco-M4-5G-Featured-B-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Poco-M4-5G-Featured-B-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Poco-M4-5G-Featured-B-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Poco-M4-5G-Featured-B-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Poco-M4-5G-Featured-B-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></p>
<p>The news arrives from a <a href="https://www.91mobiles.com/hub/poco-m5-4g-mediatek-helio-g99-soc-exclusive/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>91Mobiles</em> </a>report who learned from industry sources close to the matter. Apparently, the M5 4G model will be releasing in the country sometime next month. As the name suggests, the POCO M5 4G model is an LTE only version, so the Chinese smartphone maker might launch a 5G variant at a later date in India. Unfortunately, the exact launch timeline for the M5 4G model is currently unknown, although, it is believed to be announced officially in early September.</p>
<p>As per the report, the smartphone is a mid range model that will be priced under 15,000 INR for the base model, while its higher end options will cost slightly higher. The POCO M5 4G specifications could sport a 6.58 inch LCD panel that has a Full HD+ resolution. Under the hood, it is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC and is powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack that supports 33W fast charging support.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-457559 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Poco-M4-5G-Featured-A.jpeg?x10805" alt="Poco M4 5G" width="706" height="471" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Poco-M4-5G-Featured-A.jpeg 706w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Poco-M4-5G-Featured-A-300x200.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Poco-M4-5G-Featured-A-696x464.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Poco-M4-5G-Featured-A-630x420.jpeg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 706px) 100vw, 706px" /></p>
<p>According to the sources, POCO M5 4G will apparently arrive with the chic leather back design like its predecessor. Furthermore, it will also arrive with other features like Android 12 OS, a side mounted fingerprint scanner, dual band WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, and at least 6GB of RAM.</p>

<p>Poco M5 is not alone in the series, it is accompanied by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/07/15/poco-to-soon-launch-a-redmi-note-10s-rebrand-spotted-on-fcc-listing/">Poco M5s</a> which was also spotted on the IMDA certification site recently. The smartphone is said to be a rebranded <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-note-10s/">Redmi Note 10S </a>which means it will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G95 processor and will have a 6.43-inch AMOLED display offering a Full HD+ resolution.</p>
<p>Poco M5s could also sport a quad-camera setup on the back consisting of a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and two 2MP sensors. The phone may be fueled by a 5000mAh battery and support 33W fast charging support.</p>
<p>Both the smartphones will be launched in the mid-range segment and could be priced under $160. There is no confirmation from Poco yet. We hope to learn more details about the upcoming phones in the coming days.</p>
