The Neo:LED panel was made by LG and offers 100 percent Adobe RGB and Display P3 color gamut. So you get a vibrant panel with a focus on color accuracy.

The screen is surrounded by slim bezels on all four sides, and the portable monitor even has a built-in kick stand for standalone use. While it is capable of normal everyday use, like browsing or media consumption, the HP Series 5 Pro is designed for professionals and creators on the go. Meaning, you just need one USB Type-C cable to get it running, so there’s no hassle with multiple cables for power or display output.

HP Series 5 Pro 14″ Portable Monitor was just listed on the brand’s official website, but its official pricing is still at large. This model is expected to debut in December 2025. Apart from just being a compact display that you can carry around and work on, the HP Series Pro also works well for a multi monitor setup. I’ve used plenty of portable monitors over the years: clunky clip-ons, rigid folding screens, and some clever magnetic options. Most of them are fine in a pinch, but rarely do they feel like a seamless extension of your laptop. That changed a few months ago when I got my hands on an early engineering unit of the FlipGo Horizon from Jsaux.

I had tested the company’s earlier FlipGo model, which was already pretty solid. But the Horizon brings a fresh take. Instead of strapping screens precariously onto your laptop lid, it gives you a full modular stand-based system that is flexible, protective, and very portable. Think of it as building a complete workstation out of thin air, and then packing it into your backpack when you’re done.

Now that the Kickstarter campaign is live and I’ve spent weeks testing the Horizon setup at home and the office, it’s time to talk about how it holds up in real-world use.

Design & Build Quality

The FlipGo Horizon immediately feels more polished than most portable screen setups I’ve tried. Out of the box, the engineering sample I received included two 15.6-inch Snap Screens, a basic Snap Stand, USB-C cables, and an assortment of accessories. Even though this was not a final retail unit, the materials and finish already looked solid. The Snap Screens are 357mm wide and just 12mm thick, sleek, but not fragile. Each weighs around 820 grams, which is totally manageable for travel.

The patented Snap-Lock system is key to the Horizon’s design. Each Snap Screen connects magnetically to the Snap Stand, letting you switch between portrait and landscape modes quickly. The precision alignment magnets and locking clips work as promised. I was impressed by how smoothly the screens aligned with the stand and each other. You just adjust the magnetic arms based on your laptop size and snap the screens on.

But perhaps the best design change versus older FlipGo models and competing clip-on displays is the stand itself. The Snap Stand takes all the weight off your laptop hinge. This matters — a lot. I’ve seen countless posts of broken hinges on laptops used with clamp-style dual-screen accessories. Here, your laptop sits on the stand’s metal base, and the screens rest on their own supports. This approach protects your device and ensures better stability.

The stand folds down to a very portable form, so the entire system still fits in a backpack (FlipGo even bundles a tactical backpack with the kit). My only small quibble is that the metal base can sometimes feel slippery on certain surfaces unless you’re careful. But overall, the hardware quality here punches above its price.

Connectivity and Setup

The promise of a “one cable, plug and play” experience is mostly true, depending on your device. I used the FlipGo Horizon exclusively with my Asus TUF Gaming F15 for this review. I did not test it with a MacBook, though the company highlights specific limitations with base M1 and M2 Macs.

Setup on the Asus TUF Gaming F15 was simple. I connected a USB-C cable, adjusted the display arrangement in Windows, and the screens were detected immediately. Portrait rotation settings are applied without any need for driver installs.

It is worth noting that base M1 and M2 Macs can only support one external display natively. This is a limitation of Apple’s hardware, not FlipGo’s. On these devices, FlipGo Horizon allows only one Snap Screen to work unless additional workarounds like DisplayLink docks or adapters are used.

The Snap Stand Pro aims to address this by adding an internal hub with USB-C expansion, reverse power, Ethernet, and more. It also enables both Snap Screens to function on port-limited laptops. My review unit did not include the Snap Stand Pro, so I could not test this setup, but the company’s demo suggests it works well and reduces cable clutter.

It helps that FlipGo provides a clear compatibility matrix so users know exactly what to expect.

Features

The Horizon system is more than just a triple display kit. The magnetic flexibility and multiple modes really set it apart.

You can configure it in Horizon Mode for a classic side-by-side tri-screen setup, great for video editing or large spreadsheets. Stack Mode lets you create a vertical stack, ideal for coding, writing, or research workflows. Solo Mode enables quick expansion with just one Snap Screen. I mostly used this display in Solo Mode, as I am a desktop user, so it served as a secondary display like a charm.

The Snap-Lock mechanism makes these mode switches intuitive. I loved how easily the screens could be popped off, rotated, or repositioned, with no fiddly screws or brackets required. Even without the magnetic accessories that would enhance this modularity further, I found the system impressively flexible.

Another clever addition is MagSafe ecosystem support. The SnapMag Module (which I also didn’t receive yet in my early kit) allows iPhones, lights, or other MagSafe-compatible accessories to mount directly on the stand. This kind of thoughtful integration is exactly what you want in a modern modular workspace.

Display and Performance

The FlipGo Horizon’s screens are surprisingly good. Each Snap Screen features a 15.6-inch IPS LCD panel with a crisp 1920×1080 resolution, full 100% sRGB color coverage, and brightness up to 300 nits. While this won’t rival the rich contrast of OLED panels, these are some of the best LCD displays I’ve used in a portable setup.

I was immediately impressed by the viewing angles. Even with bright studio lights overhead, the screens remained clear and easy to read. Glare was handled very well, which isn’t always the case with portable monitors. Whether I was editing photos or just running multiple browser windows side by side, the displays held up beautifully.

I used the FlipGo Horizon across a typical week of work. I did a lot of writing and article reading, often with a browser open on one screen, a text editor on another, and Discord or email on the third. The screens were great for this kind of multitasking.

I also spent time editing images in Lightroom, and while an OLED panel would naturally offer better contrast, I found the color accuracy here more than good enough for casual to semi-professional editing. Colors were punchy without being oversaturated. Watching sports on one screen while working on the others was also smooth, with no lag or weird artifacts. The system runs at 60Hz, which is fine for productivity and general media use. You can also play games from handheld consoles.

Each display includes a small control switch on the side. You can easily adjust brightness, contrast, sharpness, black level, and color temperature on the fly. I tweaked mine slightly for photo editing and then bumped up the brightness for a few daylight work sessions. The controls feel responsive and intuitive, making it easy to get the screens looking exactly the way you want.

Although in most parts the setup works fine, you do need to be a bit mindful when detaching the Snap Screens. Occasionally, it takes a little pressure to pull them away from the magnetic Snap-Lock system, and if you’re not careful, a screen could slip and fall, especially when using Stack mode, where the vertical arrangement adds a bit more risk during teardown.

I also found that setting up Stack mode can be a bit more tiresome if you’re working in a shared space or trying to configure everything at a cafe or coworking desk. And one thing to keep in mind: these are large 15.6-inch displays, so they do eat up a fair bit of desk space when fully deployed. It’s worth making sure your work surface is clean and uncluttered before setting up a full triple-screen layout.

Accessories

Since I had an engineering unit, my package didn’t include the Snap Stand Pro or SnapMag Module, both of which add significant functionality.

Based on the official specs and videos, Snap Stand Pro consolidates power delivery, storage expansion, Ethernet, and dual-screen connectivity into a single USB-C cable. That’s a game-changer for port-limited laptops and would eliminate a lot of cable clutter. I am particularly keen to try this version once it’s available.

The SnapMag Module, meanwhile, adds mounting versatility for phones, fill lights, or action cameras. In theory, this would help turn the FlipGo Horizon into a more complete content creation or streaming rig. Again, not something I could test directly, but the potential is obvious.

Even with just the basic Snap Stand, the system worked very well. The folding design is clever, making setup and teardown fast. And the included carrying case is a nice touch for travel.

One thing to note: because the Snap Screens rest on the stand rather than clamping to your laptop, you do need to be careful in busy environments. If someone bumps your table or if a child tugs at a screen, it could be knocked over. This is a tradeoff for avoiding hinge stress, but it’s worth keeping in mind.

FlipGo also offers a range of add-ons that you can pick up separately. There’s a 90° USB-C right-angle adapter (useful for cleaner cable routing), a Snap Stand Pro upgrade if you start with the Standard kit, a SnapMag Module, and even a 20,000mAh 65W PD power bank that pairs well with the system for on-the-go setups. If you want a fully modular mobile workstation, these accessories give you plenty of options to expand.

Final Thoughts

After using the FlipGo Horizon for several weeks in real-world scenarios, I came away impressed. It solves many of the pain points that plague other portable display solutions. The modular design, Snap-Lock system, and stand-based approach make it safer for your laptop, more versatile in layout, and genuinely enjoyable to use.

Yes, the system has some limitations. If you’re using a base M1 or M2 Mac, or a laptop that only supports one external display, you’ll need to plan accordingly, or opt for the Snap Stand Pro to unlock full tri-screen capability. And the freestanding design, while excellent for hinge protection, does mean occasional care is needed in dynamic work environments.

But these are minor tradeoffs when weighed against the flexibility and quality the FlipGo Horizon delivers. For mobile professionals, creatives, and hybrid workers, this system unlocks a level of productivity that a single laptop screen just can’t match.

I’m excited to see how the final retail version performs with the full suite of accessories. Based on what I’ve experienced so far, FlipGo Horizon feels like a thoughtful evolution of the portable workspace, one that fits right into the growing trend of modular, adaptable tech.

If your workflow demands real multi-screen capability on the go, this is absolutely worth a look.

At first glance, it resembles a compact laptop when folded, but unfolding it reveals its true nature: two stacked screens designed for vertical/horizontal productivity. The overall build quality reflects a balance between durability and portability, but there are several elements worth discussing in detail.

The monitor’s main body is constructed from a combination of aluminum alloy and high-grade plastic. The aluminum gives the device a premium feel while adding durability, particularly for the outer casing. The plastic bezels around the screens are slightly thicker than those on many modern monitors, particularly at the top and bottom. While this isn’t an issue for usability, it does give the monitor a slightly dated aesthetic when viewed head-on.

The hinge mechanism is sturdy and allows for smooth opening and closing of the device. However, the hinge protrudes noticeably when the monitor is folded, which impacts the overall sleekness of the design. This is understandable, given the dual-screen design, but it does impact its portability. Carrying it alongside a laptop and other essentials can make for a heavier load, which may deter frequent travelers. When folded, it measures about the same size as a 16-inch laptop, making it compact enough to fit into most laptop bags or backpacks.

The FlipGo feels solid and well-built overall, with no noticeable flexing in the frame or screens. The hinge mechanism seems durable enough to withstand frequent adjustments, but the exposed ribbon cable near the hinge could be a concern for long-term use. The choice of materials ensures that the monitor can handle occasional bumps and knocks, but it’s best to use the protective cover during travel to prevent potential damage.

Setting up the FlipGo was surprisingly straightforward. The monitor connects to most modern laptops using a single USB-C cable that simultaneously handles both power and display signals. However, if your laptop doesn’t support DisplayPort over USB-C, you’ll need to use the included Mini HDMI cable for video and connect the monitor to a power adapter for power.

For macOS users, the process is slightly more involved, as FlipGo requires installing DisplayLink software to enable dual-screen functionality. While this adds an extra step, the software integration is seamless once installed, making it easy to configure the screens.

During testing, the FlipGo handled multitasking scenarios with ease. The screens maintained consistent performance, even when connected to devices with limited graphical power, thanks to its efficient DisplayLink technology.

The device’s ability to handle dual QHD displays through a single USB-C connection is commendable, but this does come with power demands. When powered via a laptop, the FlipGo significantly increased battery drain, necessitating the use of an external power source for longer sessions. Paired with a high-capacity power bank or a direct power adapter, the performance remained steady, but the reliance on external power may be a limitation for users seeking a completely mobile solution.

Accessories

FlipGo offers several accessory options that significantly improve its usability. The SnapStand, a magnetic stand designed specifically for the monitor, is one of the most practical additions. It securely attaches to the back of the monitor using strong magnets, allowing the screen to stand upright in both vertical and horizontal orientations. Is It Worth It?

The stacked design is unique and genuinely useful for productivity-focused workflows. However, it’s not for everyone. If you’re looking for a simple portable monitor, more affordable options exist.

For me, the FlipGo Pro added noticeable convenience to my workflow, especially for tasks involving extensive research and writing. That said, I wouldn’t recommend it to casual users or gamers. It’s a niche product that excels in specific scenarios but doesn’t try to be an all-rounder – and that’s perfectly fine.

If you watch a lot of our videos, you might find this channel is pretty keen on collecting familiar products with unusual forms. So today we got a special monitor, the innoView 15.6-inch Folding Portable Dual. It has two 1080p IPS screens for display expansion, and it only needs one USB-C cable to drive both of them at the same time.

Importantly, it not only supports Windows system, but is also perfectly compatible with Mac OS. And it’s also surprising that this 15-inch dual-panel monitor only weighs 1600g, It’s even lighter than some single-panel Portable Monitor.

Unbox

The Innoview dual-screen monitor comes in solid packaging that could be safe for long delivery, but the internal accessories are anything but simple. The package includes a fully-featured USB-C to C cable, another type-C charging cable, a USB-A cable, and an HDMI cable. It seems to consider all the connections and prepare well for users under different use scenarios. Most devices would find the right way to work with the monitor here. Apart from the cables, there is also a power adapter and a cloth for cleaning.

Design

The Innoview is a dual-screen monitor, so if not looking closer, I’d think it was a laptop. The monitor’s shell is in a blue-gray color, and the surface has a fine metallic finish that is virtually fingerprint-proof, which is very nice. The exterior looks very much like a Japanese-branded business laptop due to its glossy metal logo and somewhat soft edges. Anyway, I’m quite satisfied with the familiar design.

In terms of body materials, the Innoview monitor’s shell is mainly made of plastic. The ports and buttons are designed on both sides of the machine, which can be adjusted in a very convenient way, and there is a folding stand at the bottom of the machine, which I can easily fix it at any angle to use it, and at the same time, no matter how I place the monitor

there are rubber feet in the corresponding position to protect the monitor, which is very good. There are also vesa holes on the bottom, so if I want to keep it in one place for a long time, the vesa stand would be a good choice.

The spindle design of the Innoview Dual Screen Monitor is the same as most laptops, but the difference is that the Innoview supports an angle range of about 315°, which is very nice. I’m very happy with the clever details. Not just easy to use, but it’s really strong enough for a portable monitor. My favorite thing about Innoview monitor is that the angles can be changed at my will, whether I’m sitting or standing I can always find a comfortable angle.

Even though, the Innoview monitor still has 2 built-in 1.5w speakers. It’s not a hard shortage to accept. On the contrary, we still appreciate the effort they put into the limited space inside for optimal portability.

Screen

As for display quality, the 15.6-inch 1080p is sharp enough, and the IPS panel gives a very, very good viewing angle when I put this monitor next to my main monitor, even though it’s not right in front of my eyes. This is where the IPS significantly improves the viewing experience. What surprised me was the very narrow bezel here, which may be common for laptops, but in the Portable Monitor market, the Innoview’s screen bezel can be quite stunning.

In terms of color as stated on the packaging, the Innoview monitor looks vivid and the visual experience is excellent for viewing images and videos. It’s worth mentioning that the default color temperature of the monitor is a bit warm, so if you don’t like the warm colors, you can manually adjust it in the settings. The screen’s color coverage is great with good accuracy as a portable model. It covers a 120% SRGB color gamut and a color accuracy with good △E performance. So after using it for the whole week, I’m good with it for my daily work, such as some image processing and color tuning.

Innoview uses Anti-Glare’s Panel Surface, which in my opinion, is a smart choice, as the Innoview monitor can be carried around in a folded state to protect the screen. No need to use a hard surface to protect the display like a regular Portable Monitor. And meanwhile, the Anti-Glare Surface allows for a consistent viewing experience when the two screens are at different angles.

User experience

In terms of user experience, the Innoview monitors do a great job. If you have a device with a full-function Type-C port, then it’s very easy to connect two monitors with just one cable. If you want to achieve maximum screen brightness you can plug in another cable for power supply. Of course, this requires the installation of drivers. But don’t worry about that: When connecting to a device that doesn’t have the driver installed, it will load a removable disk with drivers for Windows and MacOS respectively, install and then reboot the computer. So it’s that simple.

When carrying it on the go, my backpack makes it very easy to store both the Innoview monitor and my laptop, and I don’t need to carry too many cables, the high-quality type-c cable included in the package is already enough for both charging as well as image and sound connectivity.

Most importantly, the dual screens are truly making some of my work more effective. When doing video editing, I’ll be editing on the main screen and browsing through footage or doing research on the secondary screen. Thanks to the built-in gyroscope, it’s very easy to view web content when doing web editing by simply turning around the screen, and of course, when it comes to gaming, I can watch tips while doing so.

The Innoview monitor also serves as my primary monitor when using devices without built-in screens, such as the mini-PC.

Verdict

  Overall I really like the special Innoview monitor, it’s light enough, well made, has a good display, and supports one cable to connect, in short, it’s a great monitor for multitasking users. Personally, I did feel the Innoview designers’ effort in helping improve productivity.

Lenovo has recently launched the ThinkVision M14d Mobile monitor for professionals who like to be on the move. The 2K monitor is extremely slim and light making it the perfect solution for your portable small screen needs.

The ThinkVision M14d is the successor of the ThinkVision M14t (touch) and the ThinkVision M14. But this time around, it comes with a 16:10 aspect ratio as most business and professional-oriented laptops have been making a move towards the 16:10 aspect ratio.

Talking about the specs of the monitor, it comes with a 14-inch 2K (2240x1400p) anti-glare IPS WLED-backlit panel. The display has a 60Hz refresh rate and a 6ms response time. Asus has just unveiled its solution for a great portable gaming experience. The ROG Strix XG16 portable gaming monitor is for those that wish to play on a bigger screen but aren’t in the comfort of their own home.

The Asus ROG Strix XG16 is a 15.6 inch monitor which will be launching sometime in December 2020. It was introduced by the company earlier today (23rd July 2020) alongside its flagship gaming handset, the ROG Phone 3. What sets this monitor apart from conventional gaming ones is the fact that it can fit in your backpack. You just need to connect it to your smartphone via a USB Type C port to game on a bigger screen.

Ever since we’ve started to work from home, we are looking for ways to improve our productivity. One way you can speed up your work, especially if it involves in-depth online research or going through multiple videos, is to add an external monitor to your setup.

I was sent the Lepow 15.6-inch portable display a couple of weeks back and I have been using it since then – for my work as well as entertainment needs.

Design

I was pleasantly surprised with the built quality of the Lepow portable monitor. What I expected was a cheap-looking build with a decent 1080p screen and a usable smart case. 

But the portable monitor turned out to be much better looking than my expectation. 

First, the monitor features a sturdy body with a sparkly texture at the back. I’m not so sure if the body is made out of metal but the design looks pretty premium, especially with its all-black finish. On the front, the bezels that surround the 15.6-inch display also feature the same finish. And the small strip at the bottom, featuring the Lepow logo, has a matte coating. 

The bezels on the front aren’t the thinnest I’ve seen on a monitor, but it doesn’t really come in between your viewing experience. The monitor is fairly well built with round corners and polished edges. Overall, the Lepow portable monitor has an excellent built quality. 

Coming to the ports, the left side has a mini HDMI port, USB-C media port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack too. On the right side, you’ve got the charging port, status LED light, and two buttons – a power/ input mode button and a roll key. The roll key is like a tiny lever on the side that goes up and down to adjust your volume and brightness. But it also serves another purpose. If you press this lever, the monitor’s menu controls pop up. You can adjust the contrast, brightness, sharpness, colors, image settings, and other miscellaneous settings from this menu.

The Lepow portable monitor measures 14.5 x 8.8 x 0.34 inches and weighs 771 grams. It’s 14mm thin as well. While this makes it pretty lightweight, you are likely going to carry it around with the smart case and the combination takes the total weight to around 1.1kg. Still, the quality and design of the case instill confidence in the monitor’s ability to be carried around everywhere. 

The smart case is made out of PU Leather (artificial) but it feels and looks premium. I have been using it for the past couple of weeks and I haven’t seen any major scratches or other signs of usage. Since the monitor itself doesn’t have its own kickstand, the smart case performs the dual function of protecting it as well as acting as the stand. One side of the smart case feature magnets on its edges to hold the monitor in place. The other side features two grooves that can position the monitor in two different angles. However, the case has a rough texture inside, so I could position the monitor in pretty much any angle I wanted, even outside those two grooves.

Display

The Lepow portable monitor features an IPS panel of 15.6-inches with Full HD 1080p 16:9 aspect ratio and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. 

Before we start talking about the display, I better make one thing clear – the Lepow portable monitor DOES NOT support touch input. This is a bit disappointing, especially since we are used to touch screen displays in 2020, but it’s not surprising that the company skipped on this feature to keep the price low. 

The Lepow portable monitor features pretty decent levels of contrast and colors. Of course, the colors won’t match up to your LG or other high-end monitors but for a secondary screen, the saturation and contrast are good. The blacks come out well on the monitor, but the white has a slightly blue tint, which is expected from an IPS panel. Nevertheless, the panel produces pretty decent colors overall, and unless you are a professional photographer or videographer, in need of accurate colors on your display, the screen won’t disappoint you. And of course, you can tweak the contrast and sharpness from the menu to a certain extent to calibrate the display according to your liking.

The brightness is also pretty decent at 250 nits. Suffice to say that this is not a portable monitor that you should use in bright areas. But indoors, with a moderate amount of light or with artificial light, the display is adequately bright. When the ambient light is pretty low, I actually turn down the brightness to 50-70%. The matte coating on the display also ensures that there’s not a lot of glare.

I also didn’t find any significant backlight bleeding issues on the screen. The viewing angles are pretty good with no visible color shifts. But that is to be expected given how IPS panels have always had good viewing angles. 

The monitor also comes with two 1W speakers on each side. Honestly, these speakers are not that good and should only be used when you don’t have any other option. In fact, it’s best to use its 3.5mm headphone jack for your media consumption. You can also connect Bluetooth headphones to your laptop/ smartphone and watch videos on the portable screen. 

Connectivity 

One of the highlights of the Lepow portable monitor is its flexible connection options. 

The monitor can be powered by a 10W charger – it can be your regular USB-C smartphone charger or you can use the charging head provided in the box. You can even power it up using a power bank (provided your power bank outputs 5V / 2A).

In order to connect your laptop/ tablet / Xbox/ PS4, you can use a USB-C to USB-C cable or an HDMI to Mini-HDMI cable (both provided in the box) depending upon the ports available on your device. 

These are the possible combinations to power up the Lepow portable monitor. 

• Charge via PowerBank + Media output via USB-C port of the device
• Charge + Media Output via a single full-fledged USB-C port of the device (drains host device battery)
• Charge via Laptop’s USB-A port + Media Output via Mini HDMI/ HDMI of Laptop/PC
• Charge via smartphone / provided charger + HDMI / USB-C for media transfer on laptop/ PC

The provided cables in the box are all of good quality. So if you are having issues with the screen, check your adapter/port on the device first. 

Another point worth adding is that not all smartphones support video out via their USB. I was surprised that even my Pixel 2 XL couldn’t connect to the monitor via its USB-C port. 

However, my OnePlus 8 immediately connected to the monitor without any issues. So if your smartphone does support video out, you won’t have any problem mirroring your screen to the portable monitor. Just keep an eye on your phone’s battery as the monitor will drain it out pretty quickly. In fact, if you are going to this monitor with your smartphone, you should first power up the screen with a smartphone charger. Because the Lepow monitor will simultaneously charge your smartphone (connected via USB-C port) when it’s being powered by an external charger. 

In case you are wondering, gaming consoles will also connect to the monitor without any issues. I have used the Lepow monitor with my Xbox One S several times. 

Conclusion

The Lepow monitor comes with a pretty good 1080p IPS panel with solid build quality and a premium leather case. The multiple connection options also ensure that the monitor is suitable in all use case scenarios. It can be an external monitor for your home work setup, a dedicated monitor for your gaming console, a larger screen for your smartphone, or even a portable secondary display when you are traveling. 

The color space is a bit limited and there’s a slight blue tint to the screen, but if you are not a professional photographer or video editor, for its price tag of under $200, the Lepow monitor is a good external monitor for your setup.
