Samsung is widely anticipated to launch the Galaxy S23 FE soon. The S21 FE was the last Fan Edition smartphone launched in January last year. Rumors and leaks about the upcoming S23 FE have been floating on the internet for the last few months. The device has been spotted in leaked renders as well as on multiple certification websites hinting at an imminent arrival. E-commerce platform Flipkart put up a banner that has now been taken down. It seemingly hints at the launch of the S23 FE in India.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE seemingly confirmed to launch soon

Flipkart has not explicitly revealed the name of the upcoming Samsung phone. However, the banner reads ‘The Best Got Better’ indicating that it may be a flagship offering. Hence the device may indeed be the Galaxy S23 FE since Samsung is not expected to launch any other flagship phone till the next Unpacked event in February next year.

The teaser also says ‘big festive surprise of 2023’ along with a coming soon. Given that the festive season starts in October in India, we can expect the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE to launch by the end of this month or early next month. The shadowed render of the phone does not reveal anything. We can also expect official details about Samsung’s upcoming offering in the coming weeks.

As per past leaks and rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will reportedly launch in Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and Exynos 2200 chipset options depending on the market region. The smartphone’s 3C certification revealed support for 25W charging for a 4,500mAh battery unit. As per leaked renders, the S23 FE will have a compact form factor with a slim profile and curved corners. It will have three vertically stacked protruding camera sensors.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will reportedly be priced at Rs 54,999 and Rs 59,999 for the base 128GB and 256GB storage options respectively.

Last month POCO announced the M6 Pro 5G smartphone in India. It is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12R that is available in China. At the time of launch, the smartphone was offered in two RAM and storage configurations. Now, the Xiaomi sub-brand has announced a new variant of the device. It sits between the base and the top model.

POCO M6 Pro 5G 4GB + 128GB launched in India

The POCO M6 Pro 5G is now available in 4GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. This means that the base variant that was announced during launch now gets double the storage capacity although the RAM remains the same. The newly launched 4GB + 128GB option is priced at Rs 11.999. It will be available for purchase starting September 14 at 12 noon via Flipkart. ICICI Bank cardholders can avail Rs 1,000 instant discount on the purchase.

The POCO M6 Pro 5G is also available in 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB variants priced at Rs 10,999 and Rs 12,999 respectively. The smartphone is offered in Forest Green and Power Black colors.

As for the core specifications, the POCO M6 Pro 5G has a large 6.79-inch center-aligned punch-hole cutout display with an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. To provide context, Google divided the AudioSet dataset into three parts, with the first two subsets collectively known as “AudioSet-2M” used for training purposes. It was within this training dataset that Xiaomi’s sound recognition algorithm model surpassed the 50 mAP threshold, setting a new standard in audio tagging technology.

Furthermore, Xiaomi has introduced a Mini version of this model, tailored for resource-constrained scenarios. Despite its reduced size, this Mini model outperforms similar models from other organizations.

For years, users have been complaining about Google Chrome’s scrolling issue on Android. The same Chrome browser works flawlessly on iOS with smooth scrolling. It seems Google has acknowledged and prepared a fix for the scrolling issue which will be part of the Android 14 update. The issue seems to be at the OS level, Android’s native touch input algorithm stutters a lot, and to overcome the issue, respective companies have made their own input algorithm for better scrolling experience. But, the Chrome browser can’t switch due to web compatibility issues. To overcome the issue, Google has introduced a new API in Android 14 which enables Chrome to offer a better scrolling experience.

An API called Nanosecond API allows apps to sample touch inputs at nanosecond intervals rather than the millisecond interval. The result of its usage is quite evident as the developers even posted a video of Redmi 9A utilizing the both Nanosecond and Millisecond API side-by-side. The scrolling becomes 2x smoother in comparison with the previous API.

Finally, Chrome for Android is getting the iPhone-like smooth-scrolling support with the Android 14. The device must be on the latest Android and enjoy smooth scrolling on Chrome for Android.

Samsung already started the OneUI 6.0 Beta Program based on Android 14 for selected devices like Galaxy S23, Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34 5G. The program is live in the US, China, India, Germany, and South Korea for some devices. We expect more devices to join the program and benefit from the latest Android 14 version as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, if the Chrome for Android scrolling issues fade away with the Android 14, then we expect a similar experience for other Chromium-based browsers such as the Samsung Internet and Microsoft Edge.

Meanwhile, tipster Abhishek Yadav has shared some key details of the Lava Blaze Pro 5G. It will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor under the hood. The shared image reveals a boxy form factor and two protruding rings housing a 50MP main sensor, a secondary lens, and an LED flash unit. The back panel seems to have a gradient design and is seen in White/Silver color option. Yadav adds that the Lava Blaze Pro 5G will launch in India by the end of this month. It is expected to be priced under Rs 15,000 segment.

The Lava Blaze 2 Pro has a 6.5-inch HD+ 90Hz display and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It features a 50MP main sensor paired with two 2MP lenses. The device is equipped with a Unisoc T616 SoC coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It is backed by a 5,000mAh cell with support for 18W charging.

OnePlus is set to launch its next generation of flagship smartphones soon. The OnePlus 12 and 12R will be arriving early next year, but these smartphones won’t be alone as the company may also launch the OnePlus Pad Go tablet as well.

Earlier this month, we reported on the Chinese smartphone maker working on a new tablet. This model in question was revealed to be the OnePlus Pad Go. The initial details revealed its OPD2304 and OPD2305 model numbers, which likely referred to its WiFi and Cellular versions. Now, a new report has hinted that the company will introduce the Pad Go tablet alongside the upcoming flagship smartphones and a set of truly wireless earbuds next year.

Known tipster Yogesh Brar the Pad Go and new earbuds are set to launch globally in January 2024. This release time frame puts it in line with the launch of the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R. The Xiaomi 13T series is set to go official on September 26. Ahead of that, we have been learning about these devices via leaks and certifications for quite a while now.

Recently, a new set of renders emerged along with pricing and color details for both pro and non-pro variants. These pictures also disclosed an interesting tidbit about the vanilla model.

In a nutshell, the standard Xiaomi 13T could differ region-wise. Let’s go through the details.

When the renders of the Xiaomi 13T lineup started appearing, only the pro version had the Leica branding. Even the unit used in the vanilla Xiaomi 13T unboxing video lacked the Leica branding on the rear.

However, the latest render leak shows Leica text on both Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro. The source of the new leak claims that these variants are meant for Europe.

Therefore, Xiaomiui suggests that Leica branding on Xiaomi 13T could be region-specific. As of now, it seems like European nations will get the special version of the device.

So what does it mean for regions that will lack Leica branding? In these markets, the regular Xiaomi 13T will most likely not offer Leica-related features like color processing, filters, and others.

Anyways, the camera hardware will be the same in all regions. The smartphone is expected to sport a 20MP selfie camera. Whereas, on the rear, it is said to house a triple camera setup comprising an OIS-assisted 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP 2x telephoto shooter, and a 12MP ultra-wide unit.
