Microsoft Edge getting a new ‘rewrite text’ feature powered by Bing AI

The excitement around AI is growing rapidly, as evidenced by the popularity of features like ChatGPT, which have taken over the tech industry by storm. The majority of existing tools have incorporated AI over the past few months for a faster and more efficient experience. Microsoft’s Edge browser appears to be moving in this direction as well, with the addition of a new text rewriting feature borrowed from another Microsoft product, SwiftKey.

A recent Tweet by Leopeva64, who discovered a new option to rewrite a text in Microsoft Edge with Bing AI, confirms that this feature will soon be available for desktop users as well.

Features of the new Bing Rewriting Tool

  1. Rewrite Text Selection: A GIF shared in the tweet reveals that the selected text will come with an option to rewrite and replace.
  2. Tone: The “Adjust” button will allow users to select the Tone of the text for example casual and professional etc.
  3. Format: There is also an option for changing Format, which will allow users to rearrange the text in a paragraph, email, or blog.
  4. Length: Lastly the selected text length can be rearranged as short, medium, and long.

After you have made the adjustments, you can simply select the “Rewrite” button, and the text will be readjusted.

One thing to note is that this feature is currently in its testing phase; not everyone will have access to the “Ask Bing AI” option. But few desktop browsers have allowed Bing AI to be available in their toolbar, such as Google Chrome and Safari.

Thieves Wipe Out $300,000 in Trading Cards at Gen Con

What’s the most valuable thing you own? For many of you, the answer might be your house, your car, or if you’re a bit younger, your computer or smartphone. However, some items that may seem worthless at first glance could be worth more than you could ever imagine. Aware of this, thieves stole $300,000 worth of gaming trading cards at Gen Con 2023. Here are the details…

Thieves Steal $300,000 in Rare Gaming Trading Cards

I’m sure many of you have seen content online about how valuable trading cards can be. For example, recently, a card from a Lord of The Rings series, called the One Ring, was found by someone and it became popular when its value exceeded 1 million dollars. Apparently, this situation, which has also been trending on social media, has caught the attention of thieves.

Gaming Trade cards

Gen Con, the biggest board game convention in the world, took place recently. This year marked the 55th time the event was organized. It featured over 19,000 events, which included board games, card games, miniature games, role-playing games, live-action role-playing games, video games, and apparently, a couple of theft.

Unfortunately, Gen Con made headlines this year not for its events, but for a theft that occurred. Two unidentified thieves stole gaming cards worth as much as $300,000. They were seen on security footage, moving a pallet of cards out of the convention center. The exact cards that were stolen are unknown, but it is believed they are a mix of Magic: the Gathering, Pokémon Trading Card Game, and the unreleased Disney Lorcana.

On August 8th, 2023, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department announced that they had arrested two suspects in connection with the Gen Con theft. The suspects, who have not been identified, are facing charges of theft and burglary.

Affordable Galaxy A05 is nearing its launch, gets BIS & FCC certified

Samsung’s A0x smartphones debut as more budget-friendly offerings from the brand. They come with mediocre specifications but go easy on your wallet. The recent Galaxy A04 debuted last year with MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core processor. And the company could soon introduce the Galaxy A05 as it has started to bag multiple certifications. In the latest development, Galaxy A05 has received FCC and BIS certifications.

Samsung Galaxy A05 to bring 4G LTE and Android 13

Both certifications do not reveal much information about the device. For what it’s worth, FCC tells us the Galaxy A05 (SM-A055M) will bring 4G LTE as well as Wi-Fi 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz, and 5.8Ghz frequency bands support.  The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification, on the other hand, only reveals the model number. However, the authority hints the Galaxy A05 is nearing its Indian launch.

Samsung-Galaxy-A04

Late in July, the smartphone also received the Bluetooth SIG certification, which confirmed Bluetooth v3.0 support. It is certain the Galaxy A05 will run Android 13 out of the box with One UI 5 skin on top. However, the software may be the “core” version, made for budget-friendly phones with hardware limitations.

The Galaxy A05 is supposed to be an upgrade over the Galaxy A04, which debuted last year in August. An upgrade means likely a new processor, display improvements, and if Samsung is being generous, you might also see new camera sensors. To remind you, the Galaxy A04 brings a 6.5-inch display with an Infinity-V notch and HD+ resolution.

It gets a 5M front camera and a dual-camera system on the back, headlined by a 50MP primary shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. The device has a 5,000mAh battery unit that likely supports 10W charging.

Apple iPhone 15 Series Launch And Sale Date Tipped

Apple’s Fall event is just a month away. The Cupertino-based tech giant follows a tradition of launching the next-generation iPhones, Apple Watch Series, iPad Pros, and other announcements in September. A recent report revealed a potential launch date of the event. Now Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest ‘Power On’ newsletter has revealed the launch and sale dates of the iPhone 15.

iPhone 15 launch and sale dates tipped

Apple iPhone 15

Gurman in his newsletter reveals that Apple will launch the iPhone 15 on September 13 corroborating a previous report. However, there is also a possibility that the launch may happen a day earlier on September 12. Notably, Apple also follows a ritual of launching its products on the second Tuesday of the month.

The iPhone 15 is also reported to go on sale starting September 22. This means that the Cupertino-based tech giant will get a week to register iPhone 15 sales in the fiscal fourth quarter that runs through September. Last week, Apple acknowledged that the smartphone market is facing a slowdown. The company said that it has been in a decline for the last couple of quarters in the US. This presents a challenge for the next-generation iPhones that are due to debut in a few weeks.

The sales of the iPhone 15 series will be tested during the holiday quarter which runs from October to November. The last three generation iPhones suffered in sales aspects soon after launch due to various factors like US-China trade tensions, the COVID-19 pandemic, and supply chain constraints. This year’s iPhone 15 lineup is also expected to pack major upgrades since the iPhone 11. Hence we can expect the upcoming generation of phones to perform better.

Leaks and rumors have revealed plenty of information left, right, and center about the iPhone 15 series. Furthermore, they are expected to gather pace in the coming weeks as we get closer to the official launch.

OnePlus Open India pricing tipped ahead of launch

OnePlus is gearing up to launch its first-ever foldable smartphone that is dubbed the OnePlus Open. With this device, the company will join other brands that also offer foldable phones. However, prior to any official announcement, a new leak has hinted at the possible Indian pricing for OnePlus Open.

OnePlus Open Price in India

The news arrives from known tipster Yogesh Brar, who shared a list of the company’s smartphones alongside their prices on Twitter. Looking at the tweet, Brar states that “OnePlus has the strongest lineup this year” and lists the Nord CE 3 Lite (20K INR), Nord CE 3 (30K INR), Nord 3 (40K INR), OnePlus 11R (50K INR), and OnePlus 11 (60K INR).

There was one more device on the list, which was the OnePlus Open. But unlike the other smartphones here, the Open has yet to be unveiled in the market. However, he shared that the Chinese smartphone maker’s ultra high-end folding phone will launch for under 1.2 lakhs INR. The company hasn’t officially launched the device or revealed its pricing details yet, but we have a possible figure now.

For under 1.2 lakhs INR, the Open model will carry a price tag just under the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. Unfortunately, this was all the details shared by the tipster. The brand’s first foldable phone was expected to launch sometime this month, but it might be delayed as well. So stick around for more updates as the OnePlus Open is expected to launch soon.
