Fiat 600e compact electric SUV with a range of up to 400km unveiled

Stelantis brand Fiat has unveiled its retro-styled 600e compact electric SUV that delivers a range of about 400km on a single charge. The new Fiat compact all-electric SUV comes with a good mix of retro features combined with a decent spec sheet.

The Fiat 600e has the same WLTP range and 115kW power as the Jeep Avenger. It is slightly larger than the Fiat 500 but it is unclear where the electric motor of the 600e sits. It is likely a front-wheel-drive EV given that it shares the same platform and similar performance specs with the Jeep Avenger. It is noted that the Jeep Avenger does not have an AWD option. The Fiat 600e is shorter and narrower, but slightly taller than the 2022 Volkswagen Golf. It however packs sufficient power to place it in SUV terrain and comes with a 54kWh battery.

The Fiat 600e can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 9 seconds which reflects Fiat’s focus on comfort and convenience ahead of pace. The e-SUV comes equipped with lots of safety and other features that guarantee a comfortable drive inside the EV. These include a hands-free tailgate, 180-degree rearview camera, blind spot detection, and Level 2 assisted driving features on some trim options. The battery pack of the Fiat 600e can be charged up to 80% in just 30 minutes using 100kW fast charging.

Fiat has begun receiving pre-orders for the 600e and the car is priced under the $40,000 MSRP range. The Fiat 600e is entering a field where some high-performance models like the Hyundai Ionic 5 and Volvo EX30 are already holding sway.

Each of the three new Peugeot Cycles models is designed to meet the needs of city dwellers of different hues and pockets. They are worthwhile options for those seeking to make the transition to two-wheeled sustainable mobility.

Electric bicycles continue to catch the fancy of a growing segment of both the urban and rural population in many countries. These urban mobility solutions have become very popular in parts of Europe and Asia, as well as a growing presence in the US. It is reported that more than 5.5 million e-bikes were sold in Europe alone last year, reflecting an 8.6 percent growth.

The electric bicycle industry in Europe has become the gold standard for measuring safety compliance in other markets. This has seen an influx of manufacturers into the European market, while also spreading to other markets.

Peugeot Cycles boasts a long record of performance in the two-wheeler industry. The bicycle subsidiary of French automaker Peugeot has been manufacturing bicycles since 1885. It has continued to catch the fancy of a large segment of the cycling public and its latest offerings expand this position.

This enables the rider to have a comfortable, upright seating position while on the go. It features a mid-drive motor connected to a low-maintenance belt-drive system.

The Peugeot Digital e-Longtail is a long-tail cargo e-bike. This offers extra carrying capacity for commuters but it retains the agility and nimbleness of a commuter e-bike. It has a long wheelbase for added stability and it can accommodate two kids aside from the extra cargo. The Peugeot Digital e-Front Load is a full-blown cargo e-bike. Peugeot Cycles says it is ideal for both family and business use, as it can take up to three kids aside from the cargo. The Digital e-Front Load uses a mid-drive motor connected to a chain drive system.

Peugeot Cycles is silent on the release and availability details of the new e-bikes. It is however expected that these models will enter the European market before possibly spreading to other regions. Pricing details for the e-bikes are also lacking at this time.

July seems to be a busy month for Honor. The company just announced the Honor 90 in Europe and is gearing up to launch its latest foldable in China on July 12 alongside several other products. The brand has also introduced a new tablet in the old continent today, called the Honor Pad X9. As the successor of the older Pad X8, the slate brings a large 11-inch display, a massive 7250mAh battery, and a six-speaker audio system. Here are the details.

Honor Pad X9 Specifications

Honor Pad X9 brings a design similar to the Pad X8 Pro launched in China yesterday. The device brings even bezels on the front, which also feature a selfie camera. The slate brings a 120Hz 11.5-inch FullView Display with support for a resolution of 2000×1200 pixels and a screen-to-body ratio of 86%. The portable tablet has a thickness of only 6.9mm and weighs 495g.

Under the hood, the tablet gets the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 SoC. The chip is paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. As mentioned, the Honor Pad X9 features six speakers, which deliver 360° sounds. The tablet is fueled by a 7250mAh battery, which might support 22.5W charging.

Although Honor didn’t confirm the camera specs, the tablet should bring a 5MP shooter on the back and another 5MP sensor up front for selfies and video calls. Honor Pad X9 runs the latest Android 13-based MagicOS 7.1 with smart features like HONOR Connect.

Pricing and Availability

The Honor Pad X9 is now available in the UK. It is offered in Space Grey and costs £179.99. You can purchase it from HiHonor from July 10th, and if you do, you will also receive a complimentary pair of Honor Earbuds X5. Now, tipster Kamila Wojciechowska has filled in the missing details of the Nothing Phone (2).

In a recent leak thread poster on Twitter, the leaker revealed screenshots of the Nothing OS 2.0, while also leaking some key specifications of the device. According to Kamila, the Nothing Phone (2) will feature an upgraded primary 50MP camera, featuring the Sony IMX890 sensor. The camera will use optical image stabilization and in-sensor zoom. It is worth noting that this is the same sensor used in the OnePlus 11, and a major upgrade over the IMX766 sensor in the Phone (1).

The ultra-wide sensor will be unchanged, meaning the same Samsung JN1 with EIS, and the front camera will have a 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor with EIS. Along with the upgraded sensor, image processing will also be new, so we can expect some improvements from these sensors.

According to the tipster, the upcoming Phone (2) is rumored to sport a 6.72-inch AMOLED display supplied by Visionox, with a resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels. Now, Vivo has plans to launch a V27 4G variant of the device in the global market, including India. This new variant has been spotted on the Google Play Console database, and a recent report from 91mobiles has provided insights into its launch timeline, design, and specifications.

According to a report from 91mobiles, based on information from tipster Ishan Agarwal, the Vivo V27 4G is set to be launched in India later this month. The smartphone will be available in three color options: Green, Burgundy, and Black. Render images of the device reveal a flat back design, featuring two large circular rings that house a dual camera setup, with an LED flash located beside the circular rings.

The front of the phone showcases a waterdrop notch for the selfie shooter, while the screen panel has a noticeable chin at the bottom. Samsung Health beta app reveals Galaxy Ring support

Earlier today, Samsung released a new beta version of the Health app. A Reddit user spotted ‘Ring Support’ in the Feature list on the app. However, the app does not reveal any additional details. But the listing and Samsung’s Galaxy Ring trademark does suggest that the company might introduce a smart ring in the future. If the brand does not launch its own smart ring, the Ring support mentioned in the Health beta app could indicate compatibility for smart rings made by other brands like Oura.

The so-called Galaxy Ring could come with health-tracking features similar to the Galaxy Watch series. The Galaxy Ring trademark at the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (KIPRIS) classified it as a smart device for measuring health indicators and/or sleep in the form of a ring.

This is not the first time we are learning about Samsung working on a smart ring. A patent application from 2015 revealed that Samsung’s smart ring could be used to control smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and smart home devices along with offering better health-tracking results. We will have to wait and see about the South Korean brand’s plans to launch its first smart ring.

However, Motorola’s operations in India are quite challenging, particularly due to the presence of Chinese smartphone manufacturers, who pose a significant threat by holding almost a 70% market share. As you may know, companies like Xiaomi and Oppo pay great attention to India, even owning brands specific to the region like Redmi. Consequently, competition in the entry-level and mid-range device segments is incredibly intense. Unfortunately, the premium segment, priced from 30,000 RS and above, isn’t much different and is primarily dominated by Apple, Samsung, and OnePlus.

The company will need to execute its strategy effectively in order to achieve its goals. However, if it succeeds, it could become a major player in the Indian smartphone market.

TSMC anticipates minimal impact from China’s export controls on Rare Metals

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Customs revealed on Monday that starting from August 1, a license would be required for the export of these rare metals due to security concerns related to the ongoing trade dispute with the United States.

TSMC, a crucial supplier for major tech companies like Apple and Intel, expressed confidence that these export restrictions would not have a direct impact on its operations. While the company did not elaborate on potential long-term indirect consequences, it stated that it would closely monitor the situation. TSMC the chip manufacturer with the biggest contracts worldwide, controls over half of the global output of silicon wafers, a vital component in semiconductors used in various applications ranging from consumer electronics to military systems.

The announcement by the Chinese government came as tensions between China and the United States continue to escalate. The Android 13 July security patch is now rolling out to various Pixel devices, including the Pixel 4a, 4a 5G, 5, 5a, 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, and Tablet. Notably, the update size varies, with the Pixel Tablet receiving a 23.27MB update and the Pixel 7 getting a 21.67MB update.

This update also marks the first regular security update for the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet, both of which were announced at Google I/O in May and started shipping in June. While the update is currently rolling out to Google Pixel devices, some Samsung handsets have already received it. Users can easily check for the update by going to Settings > System > System update on their Pixel devices.

Overall, the July Android security update brings important bug fixes, security enhancements, and specific improvements for the Pixel Tablet, ensuring a smoother and more secure experience for Google Pixel users.

Back in March, the Oppo Pad 2 was launched in China featuring a metallic unibody design, a QHD+ display, and the Dimsnity 9000 SoC. The same device was launched in the global market under the OnePlus banner called the OnePlus Pad. Now, it appears that Oppo is gearing up to launch the Oppo Pad 2 for the global market as well as it has appeared on the IMDA certification website.

The OPPO Pad 2, identified by the model number OPD2202, has recently surfaced on the IMDA certification platform. This model number coincides with its previous appearance on the SIRIM certification platform. Although the certification does not mention any details about the specifications, it indicates that the tablet could debut in Singapore soon.

A while ago, we reported that Microsoft was going to raise the prices for Game Pass in some countries where it operates with local pricing. However, the day we all feared has come, and Microsoft has made a significant increase in prices.

Prices have increased in all the countries listed below. The price of PC Game Pass remained stable in some countries, but not in Turkey. Starting next month, Microsoft will raise the price of the Xbox Series X console in most countries except the US, Japan, Chile, Brazil, and Colombia. On August 1, the Xbox Series X will cost £479.99 in the UK, €549.99 in most European markets, $649.99 in Canada, and $799.99 in Australia.
