The new Western Digital cards are similar in design to Seagate’s existing expansion cards, but they offer a more affordable price point. The Barnes & Noble NOOK GlowLight 4 Plus e-reader has appeared on the brand’s official retail platform. Although B&N is yet to formally unveil the e-reader, its key specs are no longer secret. The Nook GlowLight 4 Plus features a 7.8-inch flush front E Ink screen and 32GB storage.

The GlowLight 4 Plus supports audiobooks via the device’s headphone jack and Bluetooth audio. The e-reader also has a 300ppi monochrome display and a temperature-adjustable front light called GlowLight + Night Mode on Nook devices. It also has a touchscreen display and buttons for page navigation (up or down).

The listing also shows that the Nook GlowLight 4 Plus e-reader has a water-resistant design for enhanced durability. It is however not clear whether it comes with a USB-C port or a MicroUSB port. The first-generation GlowLight Plus was released in 2019. It had a 7.8-inch, 300ppi display, and IPX7 water-resistant rating. It also had a 3.5mm headphone jack and Bluetooth audio support, as with the new model. The refurbished model, as seen from its specs sheet, retained much of the features of the original model.

The new Nook GlowLight 4 Plus e-reader is priced at $199.99. On the other hand, the GlowLight 4 retails for $149.99. The new GlowLight 4 Plus is however listed in the retail platform as “Coming Soon”. The listing of the Nook GlowLight 4 Plus in one of B&N’s stores could imply its official launch may be imminent.

One-netbook has revealed its first-ever gaming handheld to be powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U APU. The ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro with AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor is the third version in the lineup. The company had earlier released the Ryzen 7 6800U and Intel Core i7-1370P versions of the ONEXPLAYER 2.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7840U features Zen 4 cores and the Radeon 780M graphics with the RDNA architecture. The combination of the processor and graphics of the ONEXPLAYER has seen a sequential improvement in the models. The new AMD Ryzen 7-powered ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro will offer a more powerful GPU with the integration of the Radeon 780M GPU. Design-wise, the ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro retains the same design as the original version and comes with detachable controllers.

One-netbook showcased the new gaming handheld attired in a Neon Genesis Evangelion outlook. It is dubbed the ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro EVA and follows in the footsteps of the Mini Pro Gundam special edition model. This will be probably a limited-edition model and a general release of the model could follow later. If a general release of the model is delivered, it will follow a similar trajectory as the ONEXPLAYER Mini Pro.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7840U has 8 cores and 5.1GHz boost clocks. The Radeon 780M is a 12 compute unit (CU) iGPU with greater performance than the Radeon 680M. The Radeon 780M is also more power-efficient than its predecessor, the Radeon 680M. The Ryzen 7 7840U is one of the most powerful APUs in the gaming handheld market. It is the processor of choice with brands like ASUS ROG and AYA NEO featuring the APU. There is no pricing information yet for the new ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro EVA.

The upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9300 is turning out to be a mobile chipset to watch out for. The chip is claimed to outmatch both the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Apple A17 Bionic with its four X4 super-large cores based on the Armv9 architecture. However, a popular tipster claims that MediaTek has tentatively set the frequency of the cores to 3Ghz and is waiting for the landing frequency of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to make the final adjustments.

Dimensity 9300 could be a hit

The Dimensity 9300 is a high-end chipset that is expected to be released in the second half of 2023. It should have a 4+4+1 octa-core CPU architecture, with four X4 super-large cores based on the Armv9 architecture and clocked at a minimum of 3.0GHz. The four A720 large cores are also based on the Armv9 architecture, clocked at 2.0GHz. This frequency is not final and MediaTek is looking forward to Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s landing frequency before making it final, claims Digital Chat Station on Weibo.

Qualcomm has announced that it will hold the 2023 Snapdragon Summit from October 24 to 26 and that’s where we can expect the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip to be released. The chipset may have a higher clock speed than the Dimensity 9300. So, by adjusting the clock speed of the Dimensity 9300’s CPU cores, MediaTek can ensure it offers comparable performance to Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chip.

Reports suggest the chip will be built on TSMC’s N4P process, which is a 4 nm process node offering a performance increase and notable power efficiency improvements over the N5 and N4 processes. The MediaTek Dimensity 9300 is also confirmed to feature the Immortalis-G720 GPU.

VAIO has unveiled the SX12 and SX14 lightweight notebooks in Japan. The VAIO SX12 comes with a 12.5-inch screen while the SX14 has a 14-inch display. Both new VAIO notebooks are equipped with the 13th generation Core U and Core P series processors. The models also have optional i3-1315U to i7-1360P processors.

The VAIO SX12 and SX14 memory options range between 8GB and 32GB, with up to 1TB storage configuration. The screen of the new VAIO notebooks is available in 1080p to 4K screen resolutions. The interfaces available in the notebooks include USB 3.0, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, and a nano SIM compartment. The smaller model weighs 929g while the SX14 weighs 1.08kg.

The VAIO SX series notebooks in Japan are priced from ¥199,800 (~$). VAIO has not provided any global availability information yet for the new SX12 and SX14 notebooks. The accompanying images of the laptop indicate they are available in at least a red colorway.

The full specs of the two new VAIO notebooks are lacking at this time. Important performance parameters like the display refresh rate, maximum brightness, processor architecture, and software for the notebooks are also lacking.

While Xiaomi has yet to reveal the design of the Civi 3 Disney 100th Anniversary Edition, we know that it will at least include a custom box. The company has teased that the device will come in a Mickey Mouse-inspired box adorned with caricatures of the animated character. This will be accompanied by a specially-themed user interface (UI).

Screengrabs shared by Kacper Skryzpek confirm that the device will have custom wallpapers and app icons, all matching the theme of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. While there are numerous cosmetic changes, the hardware will remain the same. The special Xiaomi Civi 3 Disney 100th Anniversary Edition will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200-Ultra chip out of the box.

The processor will be paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage. The smartphone boasts a 6.55-inch OLED curved display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and Dolby Vision/HDR10+ certification. The panel gets 12-bit color depth and 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming along with a peak brightness of 1500nit.

It gets 32MP front bionic dual main camera and a triple camera setup on the front, headlined by a 50MP main sensor. It packs a 4500mAh battery with 67W fast charging.

The Realme C series has seen some intersting launches recently, and the smartphones in the lineup bear resemblance to iPhones in more than one way. For example, the Realme C53 debuted with a camera module similar to the iPhone Pro models. Additionally, the Realme C55, which was introduced earlier this year, features a notification pill much like the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. Now, a new C series smartphone, dubbed Realme C51 has appeared on multiple certification sites, hinting at an imminent launch.

Realme C51 could be the latest mid-ranger from the brand

A Realme smartphone with model number RMX3830 has bagged NBTC certification, hinting it might launch very soon. As per the listing, the device will be called Realme C51. The moniker makes it easy to guess that the device will arrive as a mid-range device, like the last two recent launches in the series. Further, the Realme C51 with the same model has received the EEC certification and has also been spotted on BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) website, confirming the launch in India as well. It has also received the TKDN and TUV Rheinland certifications.

Details about the Realme C51 smartphone are scarce at the moment but we hope to learn more in the days to come. To recall, the latest Realme C53 comes with a Unisoc T612 chipset which is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It is a rebranded version of Narzo N53, which debuted only recently. The smartphone gets a 6.74-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and 560 nits of peak brightness.

Powered by a 5,000mAh battery, the device supports 33W fast charging. For photography, it gets a 50MP dual-camera setup and an 8MP selfie camera.

Teclast is known for affordable tablets and laptops. The company has launched a new entry-level tablet in China.

The new product from the brand is officially called Teclast P26T. It is cheaper than most budget smartphones on the market.

Interestingly, it comes with a lesser-known chipset. Let’s go through its features.

A capable tablet for just $70

The Teclast P26T is a budget tablet built around a 10.1-inch display. The LCD panel offers a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

It is powered by an Allwinner A523 SoC paired with 4GB RAM. This chip consists of an octa-core CPU featuring ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz.

The tablet does not come with a SIM card slot. However, it arrives with dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.2.

On the rear, it houses a dual camera system. The setup includes a 5MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor.

As for software, the tablet boots Android 13. It provides support for up to 4GB virtual RAM. Finally, it draws energy from a 5,000mAh battery.

Talking about the pricing, it retails at ¥499 (~$70) in China. This makes it probably the cheapest tablet in the world or at least one of the cheapest.

Teclast products are sold globally. But it’s not known when P26T will hit the international markets.

Additionally, reports indicate that Tecno is actively working on another device known as the Tecno Pova Neo 3. Based on information obtained from a website, the upcoming Tecno Pova Neo 3 smartphone is expected to feature a screen resolution of 720×1640 pixels and a screen density of 320 dpi. We already know that Chinese smartphones brands OnePlus, Oppo, and Realme fall under BBK Electronics. However, it appears that this is now changing as the parent entity seems to be making is establishing each of these companies as completely individual.

OnePlus, Oppo, & Realme are technically no longer sibling brands

BBK announced recently that the three smartphone makers will now function completely as individual entities. Interestingly, this news move also arrives as the Indian Government is seeking to tighten the reins around Chinese tech giants. For those unaware, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence has accused various China based brands of various illegal business practices that include customs violations, money laundering, tax evasion, and more.

In the recent past, Oppo India was accused of evading customs duty that was worth a whopping 4,389 crores INR or roughly 531 million US Dollars. After this, the authorities freezing the bank accounts of Oppo that had 2,082 crore INR. This was a big blow to Oppo’s Indian operations and even BBK’s considering that it was responsible for the distribution of OnePlus and Realme branded products as well in the region.

So now, BBK Electronics are making the three companies completely individual, with each having their own legal companies. This includes OnePlus technology and Realme Mobile Telecommunications in India. BBK Electronics will now face lower risk to their business operations in the region in the region as each firms are technically separated from one another, while OnePlus and Realme are currently in search for new contract manufacturers as well as establishing their individual contracts with retailers and distributors.
