OnePlus is apparently offering a whopping 100 day test drive option to customers for its new OnePlus 11. The move is likely to promote its latest generation of flagship smartphone. So here are all the details.

To take advantage of this trial program, you have to buy the high end device directly from the Chinese smartphone maker. Meaning, you can’t just buy it from just anywhere. Furthermore, once you get your hands on the device, it needs to be registered with the first 15 days. After this is done, you can simply use the premium grade handset like your daily driver. So now, the only thing left is to hope that the device is the right purchase for you.

OnePlus is basically letting you own the device for 100 days. But if you are not satisfied after 99 days, you can simply return it to OnePlus for free thanks to a pre paid shipping label for the full refund. Keep in mind that you still need to buy the device and to get the full refund you need to have the 11’s original packaging along with the charging cable and block as well. The smartphone also needs to in working order.

OnePlus is willing to accept returns with regular wear and tear but it will not be taking back units with a visible chips or cracks. So for those interested, you can check out this trial period by simply buying the device from the company’s official website.

Huawei is all set to launch its upcoming foldable flagship Mate X3 alongside P60 series on March 23 in China. Now according to the popular tipster “Digital Chitchat Station,” the device will feature a large 7.8-inch 2K display with a high refresh rate of 120Hz and will be protected by Kunlun glass. The device will also have an IPX8 waterproof rating.

Huawei will use Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) technology for the displays which is expected to offer better durability and scratch resistance compared to the plastic-based foldable displays that are currently used in many foldable smartphones out there. The display is reported to be produced by China’s BOE.

The Mate X3 will also have a powerful camera setup, featuring a 50-megapixel IMX766 primary sensor, an IMX688 ultra-wide lens, and an IMX351 periscope telephoto lens for long-range zooming. The camera setup is expected to produce stunning photographs, which will be further enhanced by the device’s advanced camera software. Out of the box, the device will run on HarmonyOS 3 software.

The Mate X3 will also feature satellite communication technology, which Huawei is calling “Lingxi Communication.” This feature will allow users to stay connected even in remote areas where traditional cellular networks are not available. Huawei has been barred from using 5G technology so the device will feature only the 4G variant of the chipset.

Huawei, the company which now has very limited models of smartphones getting launched for the past few years, has announced an official refurbished version of the Huawei Nova 9 Pro smartphone in China.

The refurbished device is now officially available for purchase in the Chinese market from today, i.e. on 21st March, and the phone’s pricing starts at 2,199 yuan (~$320).

The company is also offering a one-year warranty on the device. The base model with 128GB of internal storage costs 2,199 yuan (~$320), while the 256GB internal storage model is priced at 2,499 yuan (~$363).

Coming to the specifications, the Huawei Nova 9 Pro features a 6.72-inch OLED curved edge screen that offers a Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 300Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 4G processor, coupled with 8GB of RAM.

A few days ago, ZTE-based Nubia announced the Red Magic 8 Pro Transparent Silver Edition smartphone in its home market in China.

Now, days after the announcement, the smartphone is finally available for purchase in the Chinese market, carrying a price tag of 4,999 yuan which is about $727.

As the name of the device itself indicates, the phone comes with a transparent back panel, and given that it’s a gaming smartphone, the company has tried to retain the gaming-like look of the phone’s design.

Coming to the specifications, the Red Magic 8 Pro Transparent Silver Edition features a 6.8-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with support for a high refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a 960Hz touch sampling rate, PWM Dimming + DC Dimming, 93.7% screen-to-body ratio, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and 1300 nits peak brightness.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, coupled with 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and has UFS 4.0 storage. It also packs the company’s self-developed Redcore R2 game chip, which takes care of the sound, light, vibration, and touch-integrated magic control as well as mobile light tracking.

Xiaomi is reportedly working on the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro flagship tablets. Reports say that the Pad 6 series will make its debut in April in China with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. A new tweet by tipster Mukul Sharma suggests that the Pad 6’s global launch may not be far away.

According to the tipster, the serial production of Xiaomi’s new stylus and tablet keyboard has started in the European and Eurasian regions. It appears that these accessories may belong to the Xiaomi Pad 6. Hence, it appears that the Chinese manufacturer could be planning to launch the Pad 6 soon in the global market.

Reports have revealed that the Xiaomi Pad 6 will have an LCD panel that measures around 11 inches. It will offer a 2.8K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is likely to draw power from the Snapdragon 870 chipset and pack an 8,840mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.

Ahead of the launch, the brand has confirmed some key specs and features of the Enco Free3 earbuds.

According to the listing, the earbuds will incorporate Bamboo fiber into their diaphragms, marking the first use of this material in Bluetooth earbuds. Although high-end audio equipment is already known to utilize Bamboo due to its robust and acoustically superior properties, this will be a unique application for the material.

The manufacturer is endorsing the new Bamboo fiber diaphragm as a means of enhancing the clarity and precision of the Free3s’ Hi-Res Wireless HD-certified audio output. It’s been almost six months since the iPhone 14 lineup made its debut in September of last year, and it has been regarded as one of the best phones to purchase in 2023. As with any flagship launch, there was some controversy surrounding Apple’s decision to replace the iPhone 13 mini with the iPhone 14 Plus. The question on everyone’s mind was whether or not this was the right move for the tech giant. However, recent reports from Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) shed light on the panel shipments for the iPhone 14 series, giving us an idea of the relative commercial success of each model. The findings are definitely interesting.

The first observation is that the iPhone 14 lineup is slightly more popular than its predecessor, with a 2% increase in the year-on-year display shipments as of April. Second, it is not surprising that the Pro models are outperforming the regular ones, as this trend has been established over the years since Apple prices its newer models at the same price as its predecessors (usually).

Furthermore, the report suggests that revenue from this year’s lineup is likely to be higher as Apple sells even more high-end models at the expense of lower-end ones. Sales of the regular model are down by 36%, while those of the Pro and Pro Max have increased by 22% and 23%, respectively.

Interestingly, the report settles the “mini versus Plus” debate once and for all, revealing that the display shipments for the iPhone 14 Plus are up by 59% compared to the iPhone 13 mini. However, despite this surge, the iPhone 14 Plus is still the least popular model in the iPhone 14 lineup. The report concludes with a somewhat bleak forecast for the coming months leading up to the iPhone 15 announcement. Nevertheless, it is safe to say that Apple’s latest iPhones are a commercial success, given the results so far.

Over the last few weeks, there has been some buzz surrounding the alleged A17 Bionic performance figures. Unfortunately, it appears that these numbers were fabricated and not genuine. However, the rumour mill has churned out another piece of information, which is Apple may be facing production difficulties with its 3nm chip due to issues with TSMC, its most lucrative client. Although Apple is the only customer for TSMC’s 3nm chip, Twitter user Revegnus has suggested that the manufacturer is still struggling with production. In an earlier tweet, he shared rumoured benchmark scores for the chipset that will be used exclusively in the iPhone 15 Pro lineup. However, he has since retracted these claims following recent developments.

Revegnus has affirmed that TSMC’s 3nm yield goal has dropped, which could limit the supply of the A17 Bionic if these problems are not resolved. This news is surprising, considering that an earlier report had suggested that TSMC was performing significantly better than Samsung, with an impressive yield rate of 80 percent. There might be a possibility that the A17 Bionic that Apple wanted to produce on the 3nm process was not successful in terms of power consumption and heat generation. As a result, the performance target may have dropped. However, if Apple has encountered an insurmountable obstacle with this chip, it is possible that the M3 SoC meant for future Macs may also face similar setbacks.

In such a case, the tech giant may have to sacrifice performance for the A17 Bionic and M3 chips, focusing instead on energy efficiency. During TSMC’s official announcement of its 3nm plant, the company’s chairman did not mention any significant performance gains. Instead, he highlighted that 3nm chips would exhibit up to 35 percent improved power savings at the same speeds, which might be Apple’s ultimate goal when it comes to imminent chips. As the race for computational language models becomes more cutthroat, tech companies are gearing up to unveil their own contenders in the arena. Recently, Google announced its latest conversational AI chatbot, Bard, in an effort to compete with its rivals, such as Microsoft, ChatGPT, and Bing. Although the launch of Bard has not yet taken place, unlike the newly launched New Bing with ChatGPT and the continuously improving OpenAI chatbot, Google is making progress. As reported by 9to5Google, an email has been sent to Google Pixel Superfans, inviting them to use Bard before its official release to the public.

According to the email, Bard is an early experiment by Google that allows users to collaborate with generative AI. The Pixel Superfan community members have been offered early access to Bard, providing them with a head start and the opportunity to offer their feedback before it becomes available to the rest of the public. Google acknowledges that, while large language models such as Bard are not always accurate, input from a diverse range of experts and users will help improve the chatbot, since machine learning will help improve on the datasets for such models.

To clarify, the Pixel Superfans program is a Google-run community comprising passionate Pixel users who want to share their love for all things Pixel with like-minded individuals. Google invites potential Pixel Superfans to join the community, which provides them with exclusive access to special events, perks, a private discussion group, and an opportunity to belong to a community of Pixel enthusiasts. However, to join, one must receive an invitation from Google, be at least 18 years old, live in the United States, and preferably own a Pixel device.

Google has reportedly been testing Bard with its employees to identify and correct any errors the AI chatbot may produce. By granting similar access to Pixel Superfans, they can further “train” Bard to enhance its ability to respond to queries correctly. It’s worth noting that Bing has significantly benefited from integrating ChatGPT with its mobile and desktop search engine, reaching over 100 million active daily users earlier this month. It’s possible that Google perceives this as a potential threat, which could explain why they’re expediting Bard’s release.

OPPO has earlier announced that the OPPO Pad 2 would be launched at a press conference scheduled for March 21. The main attraction of the March 21 event is the Find X6 flagship series launch but the flagship tablet will also join the fray.

A new teaser by the company has confirmed that the Pad 2 will arrive with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset under the hood. In addition, the teaser shows that the device will come with a staggering 512GB UFS 3.1 flash storage on the top model. This affirms the posturing of the slate as a flagship tablet.

The OPPO Pad 2 is basically the same as the Onelus Pad that was launched recently. The slate packs an 11-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2800×2000 pixels and a peak refresh rate of 144Hz. The display uses a 7:5 aspect ratio and has a screen-to-body ratio of 88.14%. The panel brightness peaks at 500 nits and it has a contrast ratio of 1400:1.

The Dimensity 9000 chipset that would power the device is a flagship processor launched by MediaTek back in 2021. The processor has been featured in several flagship smartphones and continues to enjoy positive reviews. In terms of configuration, the chipset comes with a single Cortex-X2 performance core clocked at 3.05GHz, three Cortex-A710 cores at 2.85GHz, and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores at 1.8GHz. For graphics, the chipset features a 10-core Arm Mali-G710.

The OPPO flagship tablet will also cram a mammoth 9510mAh battery under the hood and will have support for 67W wired flash charging which is touted to charge from 0-100% within 80 minutes. The device also features a 13MP rear camera that supports 4K video shooting while there is an 8MP sensor at the front.

In addition, there are rumors of a Snapdragon 888 version available but there is no official word on that at this time.
