OnePlus 11 will come with World’s first bionic vibration motor & custom graphics engine for 120FPS gaming

On January 4th, OnePlus will officially unveil the OnePlus 11, the brand’s upcoming flagship smartphone, in China. The phone’s specifications are already known, and the brand teased us with photographs of the design. The company said this week that the AAC Technology-developed bionic vibration sensor motor will be used for the first time in a phone.

OnePlus

According to OnePlus, this vibration motor will be the most powerful and largest in an Android phone, with a volume greater than 600mm³.

In comparison to the iPhone 14 Pro, the OnePlus 11 offers 1.4 steady state vibration/Grms, which is 17% more. According to OnePlus, the start time and stop time are both 16 milliseconds and 12 milliseconds, respectively, just like the iPhone. The vibration bandwidth is 77Hz, which is better than the iPhone’s 66Hz and the 37Hz of other Android flagships.

According to the company, the bionic vibration motor in the OnePlus 11 provides off-state vibration/Gop of 4.2 as opposed to the 2.2 offered by other vibration motors used in flagship phones, making it 91% better.

The OnePlus 11 is the first device in the market to use full-phase magnetic circuit technology. The vibration is stronger and crisper, the company claims, with more magnetic sources and more driving energy. Even well-known third-party programs like the Happy Xiaoxiaole game and the Baidu keyboard have improved vibration quality, according to OnePlus.

The Super Graphics Engine, which allows for high frame rates and native image quality, is also said to be included on the OnePlus 11, making it the first phone in the world to usher in a new era of mobile gaming. According to the company, the phone would give up to 120fps with the optimization, regardless of the frame rate that the original game supports.

A specialized rendering processor, software algorithms, game development engines, and other software and hardware synergies help to achieve this. According to the business, with low power consumption, the frame rate and image quality can be significantly enhanced, surpassing the game’s original experience.

OnePlus has also claimed that after playing League of Legends Mobile for an hour on the OnePlus 11, the maximum temperature doesn’t exceed 43° C, and it maintains an average of 119.8 FPS.

Honor 80 Pro Flat Display Variant’s Specifications Tipped, Image Leaked

Honor recently held a mega launch event in China to announce devices, such as the Honor 80 GT, Pad V8 Pro tablet, Band 7, Smart Body Scale 3, and Router X4 Pro. Reports claimed that the company would also announce a flat display version of the Honor 80 Pro. However, the company did not unveil it. A Chinese leaker has claimed that the device will debut by early January in the home market. He added that the phone will be aimed at the offline market in the country.

To those who don’t know, Honor unveiled the Honor 80 SE, Honor 80, and Honor 80 Pro in November in China. The Pro model features a curved-edge display with a pill-shaped camera cutout at top-centre position, which houses a 50-megapixel dual selfie camera unit.

Coming back to the new leak, the tipster further said that the Honor 80 Pro’s flat display variant’s specifications are quite similar to the original Honor 80 Pro. Apart from featuring a flat screen, the device will come equipped with a different primary camera.

Tipster Digital Chat Station has leaked an image (shown above) and key specifications of the device. The device will arrive with a 6.67-inch OLED display that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, 10-bit colors, 1920Hz PWM dimming, and an under-display fingerprint scanner. As can be seen, it has a single punch-hole at the top-centre position.

On the front, it will feature a 32-megapixel selfie camera. Its back panel will feature a 160-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel camera, and a 2-megapixel snapper.

The Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and 4,800mAh battery will power the Honor 80 Pro’s flat display version. It will carry support for 66W fast charging. It will have a plastic middle frame and measure 7.2mm in thickness. The device will weigh around 186 grams to 193 grams and is expected to come in three colors, such as black, green, and pink.

To recall, the Honor 80 Pro has a 6.78-inch curved-edge OLED display that produces a 1.5K resolution of 1224 x 2700 pixels. It has a dual camera setup of 50-megapixel (ultra-wide)+ 2-megapixel (depth) and a triple camera unit of 160-megapixel + 50-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (depth) on the back. The rest of the specs appear to be identical on both phones.

Design

The Vivo X90 Pro and the iQOO 11 Pro come with very good designs, including premium materials and curved screens at the sides. Which one is the most beautiful? It is mainly a matter of taste. In terms of look, I personally prefer the Vivo X90 Pro. And you should also note that it is the only phone of the duo with the IP68 certification, so it is waterproof and dustproof. On the other hand, the iQOO 11 Pro is slightly thinner and lighter. As already mentioned, they both come with curved displays, and the dimensions are almost the same.

Display

Surprisingly, the iQOO 11 Pro is equipped with a better display than Vivo X90 Pro. It is a Samsung AMOLED panel able to show up to one billion colors with a diagonal of 6.78 inches, a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, the LTPO technology enabling an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 144 Hz, HDR10+ certification, a peak brightness of 1,800 nits, and an in-display fingerprint reader. The Vivo X90 Pro gets an AMOLED display able to show up to one billion colors with a diagonal of 6.78 inches, an 1.5K resolution of 1260 x 2800 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, and an in-display fingerprint reader.

Specs & Software

The Vivo X90 Pro and the iQOO 11 Pro are fueled by the latest Qualcomm and Mediatek flagship chipsets, respectively. The former is equipped with the Mediatek Dimensity 9200 chip running at a max frequency of 3.05 GHz, while the latter has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform by Qualcomm running at a max frequency of 3.2 GHz. The iQOO 11 Pro wins the hardware comparison for a simple reason: it has a memory configuration with a higher amount of RAM: up to 16 GB, as well as up to 512 GB of UFS 4.0 native storage. The Vivo X90 Pro stops at 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of native storage. Both phones run Android 13 out of the box, customized by either Origin OS or Funtouch OS depending on the market.

Camera

The best camera setup is the one found on the Vivo X90 Pro. It is equipped with a triple rear camera including a 50.3 MP main sensor with laser autofocus and OIS, a 12 MP ultrawide shooter, and a 50 MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom and OIS. The iQOO 11 Pro has an inferior 50 MP main sensor, and an inferior 13 MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, but it has a better ultrawide shooter with a 50 MP resolution. The Vivo X90 Pro also provides a better front camera, with a resolution of 32 MP.

Battery

The battery found on the Vivo X90 Pro is bigger than the one found on the iQOO 11 Pro, so it is able to give you a slight battery life boost with a capacity of 4870 mAh instead of just 4700 mAh. On the other hand, the iQOO 11 Pro supports 200W fast charging, so it charges quicker since its internal rival has 120W fast charging.

Price

The iQOO 11 Pro starts from about €700/$746 in China, while the starting price tag of the Vivo X90 Pro is €750/$800. Which one would you pick?

Fairphone 4 Gets Support For Android 13 and microG Through Unofficial LineageOS ROM

Custom ROMs are a boon for old Android phones. Custom ROMs allow not just outdated devices, but also the most recent ones, to get a plethora of customisation and other modification options. LineageOS is one of the most popular custom ROMs available today. Owners of the Fairphone 4 can now access Android 13 and microG by installing the most recent LineageOS ROM. This is an unauthorised build, but what’s better than having access to newer features and a slew of additional features?

lineage os

Anyway, for those who are unaware of the Fairphone 4, it is a mid-range smartphone produced by Amsterdam-based startup Fairphone that stands out from the regular Android crowd thanks to its easy-to-repair design. It was released in 2021 with Android 11 pre-installed. The brand has promised two major Android updates to the smartphone, but the device is yet to get the Android 12 build. Anyway, keeping the brand and its OS promise aside, the device has got support for Android through an unofficial build of LineageOS ROM.

Thanks to XDA JMember tfbb and significant contributions from the WeAreFairphone community, the phone now has an unofficial build of LineageOS 20 with microG and F-Droid. Because this is not an official release, we should expect some things to fail and bugs to appear on occasion. There could be some other noticeable bugs here and there but the developers will surely fix them as soon as possible.

All you need to check out this unofficial LineageOS 20 build on your Fairphone 4 is an unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery installed on your phone. Fortunately, the developer has also included a LineageOS recovery image to make flashing easier. However, before you proceed to flash the ROM on your device, make a backup of your data first, as you may lose it during the installation. You can download the ROM using the link provided below:
