The store will try to update these apps to the latest versions.

Also, the brand also mentions that within two days of the upgrade, the system will undergo a number of adaptation and optimization steps that could result in the phone getting hot, freezing, or consuming a lot of power. After the upgrade, it is advised to restart the phone with the screen off and let it charge for two hours; otherwise, it may recover on its own after some time of regular use.

Motorola Edge 30 Ultra gets Rs 5,000 ($61) discount in India for a limited time

A couple of months ago, Motorola launched the Edge 30 Ultra in the Indian market. The device debuted as the first 200MP flagship camera phone in the sub-continent. Now, the brand has slashed its starting price by Rs 5,000. This price cut is part of the ongoing Moto Days Sale on Flipkart.

For those who don’t remember, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra was initially priced at Rs 59,999 for the 8GB + 128GB storage option. However, it is currently on sale for Rs 54,999. The 12GB + 256GB version was just released by the firm for Rs 64,999, but it is also available for as little as Rs 59,999. Black and White are the available color options for the Edge 30 Ultra. The device can be purchased from Flipkart for a discounted price until the end of the sale.

It is worth mentioning that Motorola is working on a potential successor called the Moto X40 (in China). This device is said to debut in the global market as the Motorola Edge 40. The device is expected to bring improvements all across the board compared to the current Edge 30 series devices; however, considering the usual lag between the Chinese and Indian launch of Motorola flagships, it is safe to say that the device is at least a few months away from making its Indian debut.

Motorola Edge 30 Ultra specifications

The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra features a 6.73-inch punch-hole OLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz. It has an embedded fingerprint scanner and supports HDR10+.

Starlink sets data cap at 1TB per month for high-speed internet usage

Starlink, the SpaceX-run satellite internet provider, has announced that the company will be introducing a data cap for internet usage for all of its customers in the United States and Canada, which will go into effect in December this year.

The introduction of the data cap is a shift from the company’s previous stance of providing unlimited data without any strings attached. With this change, the company joins the list of other internet service providers that have soft limits on internet usage.

Starlink

The company will offer 1TB “Priority Access” monthly cap for data usage between 7 AM and 11 PM starting in December 2022. Once the user crosses the data limit, the speed will be decreased to “Basic Access.” This is similar to what some of the phone network carriers do to deprioritize data when the network is busy. The regular user with typical usage may not notice any major difference in terms of usage, but those users who depend on sustained performance may not be happy with this new policy.

Internet usage can become quite expensive if the user wants to continue having Priority Access beyond 1TB, as the user will need to pay 25 cents per GB of data. This means that the user needs to spend another $250 to get an additional 1TB of data. With those numbers, it would be cheaper to get another connection if the cost of an additional terminal isn’t an issue.

Also, users of RV, Portability, and “Best Effort” don’t have any Priority Access. Fixed business service has peak-hour caps that range from 500GB to 3TB, and any additional data will cost $1 per gigabyte. Mobility users don’t get any Priority Access, while Premium/Maritime users have a data cap of 1TB and 5TB, respectively, and will have to pay $2 per gigabyte of additional data.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra’s leaked screenshots reveal a 200MP camera

Samsung is gearing up to launch its latest generation of flagship smartphones soon. But prior to their official announcement, there have been numerous leaks regarding the upcoming Galaxy S23 series. Now, a new leak has backed up a previous rumor regarding the Galaxy S23 Ultra, so let’s have a look.

The news arrives from a tweet that was shared by known tipster Ice Universe. In the Twitter post, the tipster only shared a single image, which was a screenshot from the South Korean tech giant’s default camera app on the Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones. Looking at this screenshot, we can see two options being offered to the user on the One UI. The two options include a dedicated 200 megapixel shooting mode and a 50 megapixel shooting option.

Samsung

If true, this screenshot confirms two things. First, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will feature a 200 megapixel primary sensor on the rear, and secondly, this camera will also shoot in pixel binning for its 50 megapixel shooting mode combining four pixels into one. The same tipster had previously leaked that the company will release the Galaxy S23 Ulta with a 200 megapixel sensor that has a 0.6µm pixel size on a 1/1.3 inch sensor that has an f/1.7 aperture.

Reportedly, the brand will use its new 200 megapixel ISOCELL HPX sensor for the Galaxy S23 Ultra model and it will feature new technologies. This includes Advanced Deep Trench Isolation (DTI) for better light absorption to the sensor and Tetra2Pixel, which allows the camera to combine 4 or 16 pixels as one for improved low light photography. Meanwhile, the lower end Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ are rumored to feature last years Galaxy 22 Ultra’s 108 megapixel sensor.

Samsung bricks some Galaxy Watch 4 units with a recent update

Software updates aren’t always a simple and easy roll out. There are times when the new release comes with various bugs and glitches. However, it seems that Samsung has went a step above this and released a new update that ends up bricking some of its Galaxy Watch 4 models.

A buggy software release is quite common in the tech world with an example being Apple, which is facing many issues with its iOS 16 update in recent times. Now, the South Korean tech giant has apparently rolled out an update that basically makes it impossible to use its smartwatch models. A “limited” number of units of the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic have been bricked over the last couple of weeks and the company has pointed at a recent update being the reason.

Samsung

As per official notes, the recent update is bricking the two 2021 smartwatches. However, Samsung found that the “VI3” update oddly doesn’t immediately cause this effect. Rather, affected users of the Galaxy Watch 4 update found that the issue began arising after they switched off their devices since they refuse to restart once turned off. At the moment, there is no immediate fix to this bug and those affected will have to visit an authorized service center and get a replacement unit.

Although the brand has promised that it will be working on fixing this issue for its customers free of cost in its home market of South Korea. But we can expect a similar move for other regions as well. So one piece of advice right now is to not switch off your Galaxy Watch 4 series smartwatch till Samsung rolls out a new update. The company has even stopped the “VI3” update due to this issue, so stick around for more updates.

Elon Musk tries to rehire some Twitter employees after firing them

Elon Musk has just recently acquired Twitter, but in a short span of time, he brought a number of changes in the company. One of these changes was the massive scale of restructuring, which saw a large number of employees being laid off. But now, the company has apparently began trying to rehire some of these fired workers.

For those unaware, Musk began the firing spree with great numbers, including top executives, the marketing department, and others. The billionaire had also given the reason for this move. Apparently, Twitter was losing around 4 million US Dollars a day, and the multi billion dollar deal meant that the SpaceX and Tesla CEO had to scale down in terms of employees. But it appears that some of these lay offs were a mistake and the popular microblogging platform is looking to rehire them.

Twitter

The news arrives from a Bloomberg report, which claimed that some people “were let go before management realized that their work and experience may be necessary to build the new features Musk envisions.” In other words, this could also mean that the company found that it had laid off too many employees, which began affecting its core operations. Although, based on how sudden the major lay offs were, we can assume that there will be plenty that stay away from the unstable Twitter workspace.

Furthermore, it appears that some of these former Twitter employees have also been approached by rival tech giants like Meta and Google. Similarly, there are also reports of new tech based startups with venture capital funding eyeing these ex Twitter workers. It will take sometime for the dust to settle around the Twitter acquisition by Elon Musk, so stick around for more updates.

It is also being claimed that the upcoming device will be lighter and cooler compared to the original PS5. Further, it is said that the company is working on a solution to remove the requirement of a PS5 stand when the system is placed horizontally.

This isn’t the first time we are hearing about the new version of the PlayStation 5 getting launched in the year 2023. Earlier, reports were claiming that the company is working on launching a new model of the PS5 with a removal disc drive.

It has been a couple of years since the PS5 got launched, but potential customers are still facing shortage issues and have not been able to get their hands on the device easily. While the stock availability has been improving, people cannot just walk into the store and buy the PS5 gaming console, and they still have to source it from scalers for more than the MRP.

The development comes after Sony recently increased the PS5’s price in various regions, including Europe, the UK, Japan, and more, citing high global inflation rates and adverse currency trends as the reasons for the hike.
