Infinix has launched the Note 12 Pro smartphone in India. The device arrives with an attractive design and a respectable spec sheet for a budget 4G device. So, let’s check out the details.

Infinix Note 12 Pro specs & features

The flat back of the Note 12 Pro 4G sports a circular camera island with three camera cutouts. The volume rocker and power button are located on the right side of its flat surface. Up front, the device has a 6.7-inch True Color AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a dew-drop notch.

The device is launched as the first smartphone with the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset in the Indian market. For those unaware, the Helio G99 is an upgraded version of the Helio G96 chipset. It is based on a 6nm node rather than a 12nm node, making the SoC pretty efficient compared to before. The chipset will be complemented by 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Samsung Galaxy S23 powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC to focus on battery efficiency

Samsung recently announced its latest flagship foldable smartphones in the market, dubbed Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. Now, the company is focusing on the next generation of Galaxt=y S-series phones

It is being reported that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 series smartphones will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, and this time, the company will be focusing on battery efficiency.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1p processor, which is currently found in the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, and its upgraded version named Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, are powerful processors, but they are also power-hungry and generate a bit of heat. So, for the next-generation chips, Qualcomm will reportedly focus on battery consumption.

Based on the information available so far, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, codenamed Kailua, carries model number SM8550 and will be manufactured by TSMC using its second-generation 4nm process.

The chipset will reportedly come with one fast Cortex-X3 core that provides a 25% performance boost over the X1 found in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 models, as well as two Cortex-A715, two Cortex-A710, and three Cortex-A510.

A few months ago, it was revealed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 efficiency tests are going well, and the chip has performed better than its direct predecessors. The new chip is likely to be announced in November or December this year, and the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will be officially launched in early 2023.

After the launch of the OPPO A77 in India earlier this month, OPPO is gearing up to launch another smartphone in the A series called the OPPO A77s.

According to a new report, the device has been spotted on multiple certification databases including NBTC, BIS, EU Declaration, and TUV Rheinland. Starting with NBTC, the certification reveals that the device with model number CPH2473 will come with the OPPO A77s moniker.

In addition to this, the upcoming OPPO A77s has also been seen on the website for the EU Declaration. Given that the device has received BIS approval, an India launch appears to be imminent. A battery with the model number BLP927 will be included in the next A-series smartphone, according to the EU Declaration listing. The charging adapters’ model numbers appear to be VCB3HDUH, VCB3HDEH, VCB3HDYH, and VCB3HACPH.

According to the TUV Rheinland certification for BLP927, the Oppo A77s’ battery will have a 5000mAh capacity.
The rated battery capacity is 4880mAh.
The aforementioned charging adapters are capable of 33W (11V/3A) of charge.

Currently, this is the extent of information available on the upcoming OPPO A77s smartphone. However, more information and detailed specs are expected to appear in the coming days, so stay tuned.

After the Chinese launch last month, Honor has finally launched the Honor 70 5G smartphone in the UK along with the Honor Pad 8 and the X8 5G smartphone.

The Honor 70 Pro features a 6.78-inch Full HD+ OLED display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has an under-display fingerprint sensor and a punch-hole cutout for housing the front-facing camera.

Under the hood, it houses the Snapdragon 778G Plus SoC with HONOR’s own GPU Turbo X, which keeps high frame rates and low power consumption while running high-rate games. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

For optics, the device has a 54-megapixel IMX800 Super Sensing Main Camera, accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide & macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, the device has a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The device has a 4,800mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. It runs Android 12-based Magic UI 6.1 out of the box and offers other features like a USB-C port, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G, and NFC.

Honor Pad 8

The Honor Pad 8 is a mid-range tablet with a 12-inch LCD screen with 2K resolution and an 87% screen-to-body ratio.

It is powered by a Snapdragon 680 chipset which is complimented by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The tab runs Android 12 with Magic UI 6.1 and the all-new desktop layout. This is the first tablet from Honor to feature multi-screen collaboration. Drag and drop functions on the tablet and Honor smartphone allow for seamless interaction, making it simple to work together on the same files.

Other features of the tablet include 5-megapixel front and rear cameras, an 8-speaker setup with DTS audio tuning technology, and a 7,250mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging.

Honor X8 5G

The device runs on Android 11-based Magic UI 4.2. It has a 5,000mAh battery, which supports 22.5W rapid charging. It also incorporates a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. Connectivity options include dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The HONOR 70 5G is available in the following colours: Crystal Silver, Emerald Green, and Midnight Black. The 8GB+128 model costs £479.99 (about $568/Rs. 45,375) while the 8GB+256GB variant costs £529.99 (roughly $627/Rs. 50,120).

General sales of the HONOR 70 will begin on September 2nd, 2022, with pre-orders beginning on August 26th, 2022.

Meta/Oculus Quest Pro VR Headset Arriving in early October

California-based virtual reality technology giant, Meta recently revealed that its next VR headset will be announced in October, at the company’s annual Meta Connect press event conference.

The news was revealed by present Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, in a special interview on Joe Rogan’s podcast (via The Verge). Mark states that for the next virtual reality device that is coming out in October, there are a few big features that will be included on the headset.

In the podcast, Mark Zuckerberg did not reveal the name of Meta’s upcoming VR headset, but reports and rumours point to the aforementioned device, being Meta’s currently in development Project Cambria, and that its official release name will be called the Meta Quest Pro (part of the Meta Quest/Oculus Quest series of VR headsets).

Mark Zuckerberg shares with listeners that Meta’s next device will introduce eye and facial to consumer VR headsets. He shares some examples of what the Meta Quest Pro can enable users to do, like making flexible and direct eye contact in virtual reality in conversations, make avatar facial expressions to emulate your real-life face expressions and the most shocking of them all, Mark explains that if you smile or if you frown or if you pout, or whatever your expression is, the upcoming headset can have that translate in real-time to your avatar.

As for other details regarding the upcoming Meta Quest Pro, we will have to wait until early October for Meta’s official launch announcement.

The Meta Quest Pro is rumoured to launch at a starting price of US$ 799 or higher, making it the most expensive virtual reality headset in Meta’s catalogue.

HP has just launched a new 34-inch All-in-One Desktop PC that promises to bring a “studio-like experience” and “studio quality” to its users.

The new AiO has a 5K ultra-wide resolution IPS display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. The company claims that this panel can hit 500 nits of brightness and cover 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

The HP AiO comes configured with up to an Intel Core i9-12900 with vPro, an Nvidia RTX 3060 (6GB GDDR6X) LHR GPU, 4TB of storage across two NVMe M.2 SSDs, and 128GB of DDR4-4800 RAM. The storage and RAM are supposed to be easily upgradeable or replaceable through a panel that opens on the computer’s backside.

The back of the device has multiple ports including pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports, four USB-A ports (10Gbps), HDMI 2.1, RJ45, and a 3.5 mm jack.

The 34-inch AiO enables users to move the detachable, magnetic 16MP (4MP Binned) camera to multiple positions on the screen bezel to find the best field of view. The company claims that the high-resolution camera’s automatic cropping and flattening of the video feed results in a sharp, digital image of pages or a whiteboard that can be shared in real-time.

Password Manager LastPass Confirms They Were Hacked This Month

With more and more websites setting restrictions on the passwords you can use (ie it must have a capital letter, a unique symbol or your password must be 12 characters long), password managers such as Dashlane, KeePass, and 1Password have been gaining attraction among online users over the past 5 years.

One among the popular password managers, LastPass, reported in their official community blog post, that unfortunately their service was hacked this August 2022.

The report states that the team has determined that two weeks ago, an unauthorized party gained access to portions of the LastPass development environment through a single compromised developer account and took portions of source code and some proprietary LastPass technical information.

In response to the security incident, the company states that it has deployed containment and mitigation measures, and engaged with a leading cybersecurity and forensics firm. The investigation regarding LastPass’ security incident is still ongoing, and the company has notified its users that currently there is no evidence that this incident involved any access to customer data or encrypted password vaults.

LastPass’ products and services are operating normally, and with regard to the incident, the company has also implemented additional enhanced security measures and is evaluating further mitigation techniques to strengthen the cybersecurity environment.

Lastly, LastPass informs users that none of its users’ Master passwords have been compromised. LastPass says that it never stores or has knowledge of its users’ Master Passwords. The password manager utilizes an industry-standard Zero Knowledge architecture that ensures LastPass can never know or gain access to their customers’ Master Password.

As already mentioned, the form factors are totally different. Display

The internal foldable display of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is actually the best in this comparison. What changes is the amount of RAM alongside the internal storage, definitely better on the Fold4. Indeed, the Samsung Galaxy Fold4 provides 12 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, while the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 has just 8 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 native storage. These phones run Android 12 out of the box, but the Fold4 has Android 12L, an optimized version for devices with big displays.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 wins the camera comparison simply because it has better sensors. On the rear side, it sports a 50 MP main camera with OIS and dual pixel autofocus, a 10 MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, and a 12 MP ultrawide lens with a FOV of 123 degrees. ASUS has released two new series gaming monitors that feature the latest generation OLED technology and an impressive heat dissipation mechanism. The ROG Swift PG42UQ and PG48UQ OLED gaming monitors offer extended gaming performance, according to Asus.

The release of the latest Asus gaming monitors comes seven months after they were announced during CES 2022. The 42-inch ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ and the 48-inch ROG Swift OLED PG48UQ both have a 4K flat OLED panel. They also feature a custom heat sink that ensures enhanced performance and prolonged life. The impressive features of the two new gaming monitors include high-quality color, contrast, and brightness, as well as high refresh rates and response times.

The 4K OLED screens in both the PG42UQ and PG48UQ use the latest technology available for greater efficiency. They also adopt a sub-pixel layout that provides extreme levels of detail and upgrades the overall viewing experience. The new monitors will be a delight to gamers who are ensconced in high-octane games as the PG42UQ and PG48UQ are up to the task. They offer up to 138Hz refresh rate and 0.1ms response time. The air conditioner has a range of operation between -32ºC and 60ºC. The machine is also self-cleaning both internally and externally. It has an antibacterial and mildew-proof filter, as well as a dirty block intelligent reminder.

The MIJIA Natural Wind Air-Conditioner 1.5HP uses a full DC frequency conversion, an electronic expansion valve, and an innovative air duct. Itel has launched two new feature phones, dubbed Itel Magic X and Magic X Play in India. The handsets come with an affordable price tag and impressive features. Both phones support 4G VoLTE and feature the LetsChat app that allows users to send unlimited voice messages and even create chat groups. The Itel Magic X and Magic X Play also sport a built-in music app that has over 74 million music tracks. Let’s have closer look at the price and specifications of the newly launched feature phones.

Itel Magic X, Magic X Play Specifications

The Itel Magic X Play features a 1.77-inch 3D curved display with a 128×160 pixels resolution, whereas the Magic X comes with a 2.4-inch 3D curved QVGA display offering a 240×320 pixels resolution. The phones carry dual-sim support and are powered by a Unisoc T107 processor.

The features phones have a VGA rear camera with LED flash. In terms of storage, both handsets have 48MB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage that can be further expanded up to 64GB with a microSD card. Users will be able to save up to 2,000 contacts, 500 SMS texts as well as 250 MMS texts.

As mentioned, the phones carry support for 4G VoLTE. In addition, they also have wireless FM and Bluetooth v4.2 connectivity. The handsets also feature a 3.5mm headphone jack. If we talk about the battery, the Itel Magic X Play is backed up by a 1,900mAh battery, while the Magic X pack a battery a 1,200mAh battery.

The Itel Magic X price in India is set at Rs. 2,299 and it is offered in Midnight Black and Pearl White colors. Yamaha SR-C30A soundbar with a compact wireless subwoofer announced

Yamaha will release a compact soundbar with a wireless subwoofer and an affordable price in October. The Yamaha SR-C30A soundbar is priced lower than the Sonos Ray which is the gold standard for budget soundbars.

The Yamaha SR-C30A comes with additional features than the Sonos Ray, thus giving it a competitive edge. It comes with HDMI ARC connectivity, Bluetooth streaming, and a wireless subwoofer for high bass output. The soundbar is quite compact together with the wireless subwoofer. The system will work with 32-inch TVs and larger models and the subwoofer can fit snugly into a small space.

The SR-C30A has two 4.6cm drivers (compared to the four in the Sonos Ray) in the wireless subwoofer. The soundbar will feature virtual surround sound capabilities which can be controlled using the app. How this combines with its minimal number of drivers remains to be seen. Unlike the Sonos Ray, there is no Wi-Fi connectivity or streaming capability for the SR-C30A. However, the multi-point Bluetooth connectivity means that you can switch between different inputs like your smartphone or Amazon Echo Dot.

Some other budget-friendly Yamaha soundbars already on the market are the SR-B20A and SR-C20A. Both models have an impressive output, thus raising similar hopes for the SR-C30A. The Yamaha SR-C30A will be available in October and is priced at $279. Its affordable price could belie the quality on offer on the device. We await the official release of the soundbar to establish its quality rating.

TCL Tab 10 5G with an 8,000mAh battery, 5G connectivity launched for $300

It is often a challenge to balance performance and affordability in the tablet segment of the tech market. However, the new TCL Tab 10 5G aims to overcome that challenge. The new TCL tablet comes with fast connectivity via its 5G support, as well as long battery life and an affordable price. The new tablet comes with a large full-HD display and a long battery life.

The TCL Tab 10 5G is an inexpensive tablet that squares up with the Samsung Galaxy A7 Lite quite nicely. It has a larger screen, larger battery, and a lower price than the more established Galaxy A7 Lite tablet. The tablet’s display is made by the company’s NXTVISION group. The camera setup of the Tab 10 5G consists of an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Face identification is featured in the Tab 10 5G and it can be used to unlock the tablet as an added security measure.

The TCL Tab 10 5G offers fast network connectivity on the go and is especially handy on long journeys. Its battery can be used without charging for several hours on a trip. The tablet runs on Android 12 and has 4GB RAM + 32GB of storage, which is quite limiting. It is powered by the MediaTek Kompanio 800T processor. It may not be well-kitted for intense gaming applications or multi-tasking due to the underwhelming RAM capacity.

The TCL Tab 10 5G is available on the T-Mobile network, unlike the slightly more-expensive TCL Tab Pro, which is available on the Verizon network. The Tab 10 5G will retail for $300 but it is unclear whether it is worth the plunge if your desire is a high-performance and versatile tablet.

Sony Xperia 5 IV could launch at company’s September 1 event

Earlier this year, Sony launched the flagship Xperia 1 IV. However, the company didn’t announce the anticipated Xperia 5 IV. Now, the Japanese conglomerate has scheduled a launch event on September 1 where it may finally launch the Sony Xperia 5 IV.

The event will take place on September 1 at 4 PM Japan time (3 AM EST). Moreover, it will be live-streamed on the official Sony Xperia YouTube channel, so interested folks can watch it from the comfort of their homes.

The company announced the Xperia event through a teaser posted on YouTube. Interestingly, Sony collaborated with artist Cat Burns who apparently shot and recorded her latest single “People Pleaser” on a new Xperia phone. However, she didn’t specify which Xperia Phone. We believe it’s the long-rumored Xperia 5 IV.

The teaser suggests that the upcoming Xperia smartphone will have a compact form factor. The device will likely have the same pocket-friendly design as other smartphones in the Xperia 5 series.

A recent FCC listing suggested that the Xperia 5 IV’s display will measure 153.5mm diagonally (roughly 6-inch). Moreover, it is listed to come equipped with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port.

The details about the device are still pretty short. It is expected to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Soc. But the possibility of an older Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor cannot be zeroed. In addition, it may feature a 120Hz OLED display, IP68 water resistance, a triple camera system, and dual stereo speakers.

The pricing and other details of the device are yet to be known. More details will definitely surface ahead of the launch. We’ll keep you posted.

Vivo Y35 retailer listing spotted, specifications, price revealed again

Vivo Y35 is expected to launch in the next few days in India. The rumor mill has already leaked the key specifications and price of the device. Ahead of the official announcement, the Y35 has appeared on an Indian retailer site, Sangeetha Mobiles (via). The listing has yet again revealed the specifications and price of the device.

As can be seen in the screenshot, the Vivo Y35 will come in a single configuration that offers 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The device is listed with Rs 18,499 price tag and color variants like black and gold.

A recent leak revealed that Vivo Y35 buyers in India can avail Rs 1,000 cashback through SBI, ICICI, and Kotak Bank cards. Earlier this month, the Y35 was announced in India with a price tag of around $230.

Vivo Y35 specifications (rumored)

The Vivo Y35 will house a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device will sport a 16-megapixel camera on the front, and its back panel will feature a 50-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel (depth) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit.

The Y35 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 680 chipset. The device has 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot for more storage. It runs on the Adnroid 12 OS with FunTouch OS 12. It will pack a 5,000mAh battery, which may support 44W fast charging.

The Y35 will arrive with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It will offer other features such as dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

iQOO Z6 series has been announced in China. The lineup comprises two devices: iQOO Z6 and iQOO Z6x. This year, the company unveiled a couple of Z6-branded phones in India. However, the Z6 models that have launched today in China are branded new devices that haven’t been launched anywhere before.

iQOO Z6 specifications and features

The iQOO Z6 has a 6.64-inch IPS LCD display with a punch-hole design. It offers a 120Hx refresh rate, a Full HD+ resolution, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The camera module on the back has a 64-megapixel main camera with OIS support. It is coupled with a 2-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The Snapdragon 778G Plus chip is present under the hood of the device. It offers up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It comes with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 80W charging. According to iQOO, the Z6 can go from 0 to 50 percent in just 10 minutes.

The iQOO Z6x features a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display with a teardrop notch. It produces a Full HD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It has an 8-megapixel selfie camera and its rear shell has a 50-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel (macro) dual-camera system.

The Dimensity 810 chipset is present under the hood of the Z6x. It offers up to 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The Z6x is iQOO’s first smartphone to feature a 6,000mAh battery. Thankfully, it carries support for 44W fast charging.

The iQOO Z6 and Z6x come preloaded with Android 12 OS with OriginOS Ocean UI on top. Both models offer common features like a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock, dual SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

iQOO Z6, Z6x price and availability

The iQOO Z6 comes in three options: 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. These models are priced at 1,699 Yuan (~$248), 1,899 Yuan (~$277), and 2,099 Yuan (~$306), respectively. It can be purchased in Jade Black, Golden Orange, and Star Sea Blue.

On the other hand, the iQOO Z6x is available in three congratulations: 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. These models are priced at 1,199 Yuan (~$175), 1,399 Yuan (~$204), and 1,599 Yuan (~$233), respectively. Its color variants are black, orange, and blue.

Sony has been launching new audio devices in India lately. Now the Japanese brand has announced three new portable wireless speakers in India. These include the SRS-XG300, SRS-XE300, and SRS-XE200. The Sony SRS-XG300 is the more premium offering in the lineup followed by SRS-XE300 and SRS-XE200. Read on to know what these audio devices offer out of the box.

Sony’s latest X-series speakers feature a cylindrical shape design with a diaphragm that isn’t circular. They are IP67 certified water and dust-proof. The SRS-XG300 has a retractable handle whereas the SRS-XE200 comes with a strap for portability. The XE300 and XE200 are claimed to handle knocks and bumps.

In terms of audio, the Sony’s newly introduced X-series speakers are equipped with an X-shaped balanced speaker unit for a powerful sound experience. The SRS-XE200 and XE300 come with ANS. The former also features dual passive radiators and is capable of sensing ambient noise. All three wireless speakers come with Live Sound mode that simulates live music.

The Sony SRS-XG300 and XE300 are backed by 25 hours of battery life. The SRS-XE200 is capable of delivering up to 16 hours of usage on a full charge. All three wireless speakers support fast charging. Connectivity options on the audio devices include Bluetooth 5.2 and USB-C ports.

The Sony SRS-XG300 costs Rs 26,990 and will go on sale from August 25th. The SRS-XE300 and XE200 are priced at Rs 19,990 and Rs 12,990 respectively. The former will be available for purchase from 10th September whereas the latter will be available from September 30th. All three wireless speakers can be purchased from Sony retail stores as well as leading online and offline channels across the country.

Samsung is illuminating the gaming monitor market with two smart gaming monitors. The Samsung Odyssey G70B has a UHD display with a 144Hz refresh rate while the G65B has a 240Hz QHD display. The two models were part of the Odyssey lineup showcased at Gamescom 2022. The Odyssey G70B and G65B both support Samsung’s Smart Platform and Samsung Gaming Hub.

The new Odyssey smart gaming monitors are capable of creating a home office environment as they can wirelessly connect to a PC. They can use Samsung Dex, mirror a phone’s screen using Apple AirPlay 2, and also access the Microsoft 365 suite. The high refresh rates of these models make them suitable for streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and others.

The Odyssey G70B and G65B smart gaming monitors feature IoT functionalities and voice assistant support like Amazon Alexa and Bixby. This is achieved by the high-sensitivity Far Field Voice microphone in both gadgets. The user can interact with the monitor at any time with the Always on Voice function activated. The new gaming monitors are well-primed for intense gaming, including cloud gaming services. Both models have a 1ms fast response time.

The G70B has a flat IPS display and supports both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA’s G-SYNC. It is available in 28- and 32-inch sizes with UHD resolution. The G65B has a 1000R curved QHD display. It offers the FreeSync Premium Pro for enhanced gaming performance. The model has two sizes – 27 inches and 32 inches. There are no price details yet for the two gaming monitors and they are expected to debut globally in the last quarter of 2022.
