Google will soon let Wear OS devices flip the display if you wear the watch upside down

Google is finally adding a highly requested feature to its Wear OS for smart wearable products. This new update would soon allow devices running the OS to flip their screens depending on the orientation of the smartwatch.

For those unaware, the Search engine giant had recently partnered with Samsung for its current gen iteration of Wear OS. So, although it has received praises for offering one of the best wearable experiences in the market, it still lacked a small but essential feature. It is display flipping when you wear a watch upside down. While one has the option to wear the watch either on the left or right hand, some are uncomfortable with the typical way of wearing a smartwatch. To put things simply, regardless of the hand on which you wear the watch, the buttons will still be on the right side. So if one is wearing the watch on the left hand then the buttons align with the wrist, but on the other hand, it pushes into your arm.

A simple fix to this is to just wear the watch upside down. And while you would be right for thinking of this solution, unfortunately, Wear OS did not support display flipping to reflect the changed orientation of the smartwatch. The issue was first brought to light years ago, with a 2018 Google issue tracker revealing a request to add a small change to allow the display to flip upside down (Via AndroidPolice). Surprisingly, this issue is now marked as “Fixed” alongside a quick not that revealed its availability.

The quick note stated that “Our development team has implemented the feature you have requested and will be available on future new devices.” However, Google did not reveal any other finer details regarding when the update might bring this feature, and whether its an automatic addition or a function you’d need to toggle in settings. Notably, the term “future new devices” also implies that current Wear OS devices might not see the arrival of this feature. So stick around for more updates.

The POCO M3 was launched with MIUI 12 based on Android 10 in India back in February 2021. But it was only recently that other variants of the device began receiving Android 11-based MIUI 12.5, although the Indian variant has still been left out. And as the variant still awaits stable MIUI 12.5, MIUI 12.5 Enhanced stable beta has already begun rolling out to some users.

The update carrying version 12.5.1.0.RJFINXM weighs 2.6GB and brings a number of performance-oriented improvements such as focused algorithms, liquid storage, atomized memory, swift performance, and smart balance. These have been outlined in the official changelog given below.

The changelog also mentions Android 11, meaning it’s the first time the Android version has hit Indian users, which is a major mess-up on part of Xiaomi/POCO considering it’s now the era of Android 12.

Moreover, considering that the update is still in its stable beta stages, it may take a while before it is rolled out widely. Stable beta builds, after all, are a prelude to stable builds and are rolled out to select users to ensure that it is free from bugs.

Still, there is a way you can receive such builds sooner than everyone else. Simply head over to Settings > System update > Update settings and tap on Receive updates sooner.

Nubia’s Red Magic is expected to launch a new flagship soon as a device with model number NX679J has appeared on multiple certifications in the past. The phone is believed to be none other than the rumored Nubia Red Magic 7 and now, it has emerged on the Geekbench portal revealing its key specs.

As per the listing(via – MySmartPrice), the Nubia Red Magic 7 with model number NX679J has the ‘taro’ chipset. It is nothing but the codename of the latest flagship chipset the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Thanks to this chipset, the phone has managed to score 1219 points in the single-core department and 3732 points in the multi-core test.

The smartphone runs on the Android 12 operating system and has 18GB of RAM. In addition to this, the previously seen 3C listing revealed its crazy fast charging capability. As per the listing, the Nubia Red Magic 7 will boast a 165W fast charging support.

Earlier, its Bluetooth SIG certification confirmed that the phone will have Bluetooth v5.2 support. Several reports have tipped that the Red Magic 7 be a gamer-centric device, similar to its predecessors. Having said that, it will feature an impressive 165Hz OLED screen.

REDMAGIC 6S Pro Featured D — REDMAGIC 6S Pro

As for the cameras, the smartphone may not have major upgrades. It could feature the same 64MP primary sensor as in its predecessor, the Red Magic 6s. In totality, it could be a three-camera setup.

Other specs of the phone are still under wraps, but the details may surface soon, given that it is appearing on certification sites more frequently. The company may as well announce it in the coming months.

It was revealed today that the first model to launch as part of the K50 series will likely be the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition that will be focusing on esports.

The information comes from notable industry insider Digital Chat Station who made a post on Weibo saying that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, complemented by a premium heat-dissipation system to help keep the temperatures down during intensive gaming.

The post further reveals that other variants of the series with MediaTek Dimensity 8000/9000 processors will make their way a little later and that they may be priced higher.

The blogger had also tipped earlier that the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will be coming with an X-axis haptics motor, JBL speakers, Gorilla Glass Victus, and dual VC liquid cooling.

Another post from Lu Weibing, Gen Manager of the Redmi product line, showed that the “Redmi K50 Universe” will pack a 4,700mAh battery that can be filled up to 100% in just 17 minutes using a 120W charging brick, and that the entire lineup be will be launched sometime next month.

Recently, a Geekbench 5 listing revealed a few specs about the vanilla Redmi K50 model. It will be re-using the Snapdragon 870 chip that the Redmi K40 featured and will support 67W fast charging. Its priciest variant could offer 12GB of RAM. The device will also most likely be booting into the latest MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box.

Meizu through a new product launch event today launched PANDAER’s first desktop Bluetooth speaker along with some other products. PANDAER is one of Meizu’s sub-brands and is comprised of a quirky accessory product line aimed at the youth.

The Meizu PANDAER x Elvis XOG Platinum Unicorn Cyber Bluetooth Speaker has been promised to deliver a “powerful acoustic feast” and comes with a “Platinum Unicorn” customized skin on top. It features dual 48mm independent full-range units, subwoofer, and bass amplifier. There’s even built-in Meizu Sound with a variety of custom EQ.

The product has been jointly developed by Meizu Acoustics and Elvis technical team, through which the Super Alive Bass tech has been included in the speakers.

In terms of design, the PANDAER desktop bluetooth speaker adopts a platinum unicorn pattern, all-metal mecha shell, and customized Unicorm Halo light effect.

Other specs include 80ms audio delay, which is comparable to gaming TWS earbuds, IPX5 water resistance, USB-C fast charging, long battery life, custom sound effects, Bluetooth 5.0, and AUX access.

The Meizu PANDAER x Elvis XOG Platinum Unicorn Cyber Speaker will be selling at a retail price of ￥1,499, which is around $235. A global launch hasn’t been announced and will likely never be, meaning that the desktop Bluetooth speaker is actually a China-exclusive product.

Along with the launch of the Meizu PANDAER x Elvis XOG Platinum Unicorn Cyber Bluetooth Speaker, the company has also announced that it would be diverging into three product lines, namely PANDAER X, PANDAER Teochew, and PANDAER Life Research Institute.

Earlier today (12th January 2022), Meizu launched a number of new products in China. This included its latest budget smartphone, the mBlu 10 and other Lipro and PANDAER products as well. Among the new products, the company unveiled the new PANDAER branded transparent mechanical keyboard and power bank.

Talking about the keyboard first, the PANDAER X IQUNIX Mechanical Keyboard was initially set for crowdfunding back in September 2021. However, materials shortages caused by the pandemic led to the product being delayed. But now, it has officially been announced with its 83 keys with PBT keycaps. It has a semi transparent design and offers either Cherry switches or TTC switches, along with support for full key hot swapping as well. For connectivity, it features Bluetooth 5.1, 2.4G wireless and wired connection with both Windows and Mac OS support as well.

Similar to the keyboard, the 130W transparent power bank is also a part of a collaboration. It is the PANDAER X SHARGE 118W Transparent power bank, which was also first began crowdfunding last year as well. and supports 118W fast charging through a single 21700 power cell with a capacity of up to 5000mAh. Furthermore, the power bank also supports QC/PD multi protocol fast charging as well and even has a small screen that displays the current, voltage, and capacity in real time. As the name suggests, it features a transparent outer shell.

The new PANDAER X SHARGE 118W Transparent power bank from Meizu is currently priced at 999 Yuan (roughly 157 US Dollars) and is available for sale right now. Last week, Flipkart started teasing the launch of the Motorola Moto Tab G70 in India. It will be the second Motorola-branded tablet in India after Moto Tab G20. Today, we finally know when this device will be available in the country.

The Motorola Moto Tab G70 has been confirmed to launch in India at 12 PM on January 18. It appears the tablet will be available for purchase on Flipkart, as soon as it goes official.

We feel this because it will be announced during Flipkart’s Big Saving Days sale, which is scheduled to run from January 17 to 22.

Just like the Moto Tab G20, we expect the Moto Tab G70 to be a rebadged Lenovo tablet. Per the features teased by Flipkart, the device will be likely a tweaked version of the Lenovo Tab P11 Plus. It is not surprising as the mobile division of Motorola is owned by Lenovo.

Talking about specs, the Moto Tab G70 has been confirmed to sport an 11-inch 2K display with 400 nits peak brightness, TÜV Rheinland-certified low blue light mode, and HD content certification for Amazon Prime Video as well as Netflix. It will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G90T chipset paired with 64GB of storage.

The IP52-certified tablet will include Dolby Atmos-powered quad speakers. The metal body will house a 7,700mAh battery with support for 20W charging.

Finally, the device will run Android 11 with Google Entertainment Space and Google Kids Space.

Meizu mBlu 10 launched in China, with 6.62 inch display & 5000mAh battery

Meizu has finally announced its latest smartphone within its mBlu series. The new device is dubbed as the mBlu 10 and is an affordable budget range handset that has just been launched in China.

The Chinese smartphone maker’s mBlu 10 sports a 6.62 inch LCD screen that has a HD+ 1600×720 resolution. It has a waterdrop notch on the top and offers a 60Hz refresh rate. On the rear, it has a tempered glass panel with a triple camera setup, which includes a 48 megapixel Samsung S5KGM2 primary sensor, 2 megapixel macro camera, and a 2 megapixel auxiliary lens as well. On the other hands, the front houses an 8 megapixel Hynix HI846 camera.

Under the hood, a large 5,000mAh battery pack powers the device, which supports 10W charging. Furthermore, it houses a domestic chipset, the UNISOC T310 processor that is based on the 12nm process. It weighs 201 grams and is 9.3 mm at its thickest. Other features include a 3.5 mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 4.2, infrared Remote Control, up to 256GB of expandable storage support, and runs Android 11 based flyme 9 operating system.

The Meizu mblu 10 is currently available in multiple storage configurations, including a 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model, which is priced at 699 Yuan (roughly 110 US Dollars). Meanwhile, the 4GB RAM +128GB storage version costs 799 Yuan (roughly 125 US Dollars) and the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at 899 Yuan (roughly 140 US Dollars). The next iteration of realme‘s extremely popular budget to mid-range series is almost upon us. The company on Monday officially launched the realme 9i in Vietnam, and the rest of the lineup that will be comprised of the realme 9, realme 9 Pro, realme 9 Pro+ are set to follow soon. From these, the realme 9 is the latest to bag Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification.

Carrying model number RMX3388, the alleged realme 9 has also popped up on the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), hinting that its launch is just around the corner in both Indian and Eurasian markets (via DealNTech).

Sadly, neither of the listings delve into the specs of the device, meaning that we will have to manage with nothing but a model number now. Still, we can expect more leaks and official teasers in the coming days now that the phone has gained certification.

Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has similarly confirmed that the realme 9 Pro, 9 Pro+, and 9i+ will have model numbers RMX3472, RMX3393, and RMX3491 respectively, so it’s possible that the entire lineup will be launched together.

Also possible is that all of the aforementioned phones will feature a design, not unlike the freshly launched realme 9i. This one is equipped with the 6nm Snapdragon 680 4G chipset and a 5000mAh battery. Its display is sized 6.6-inch and has an FHD+ resolution. Priced VND 6,290,000 (~$277), it is available in blue and black and 6GB+128GB config.

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 9R in India at the end of March. The smartphone went on sale a few weeks later in April. Almost 10 months after its announcement in the country, the brand has now confirmed to discontinue the product.

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus 9RT in India on January 14. Ahead of that, the firm has revealed its plans to discontinue the older OnePlus 9R in the region.

The company says that the handset will continue to sell in the country until stocks last. It is currently listed at ₹39,999 and ₹43,999 for the 8GB + 128GB and the 12GB + 256GB memory configurations respectively on Amazon. The eCommerce giant is offering a ₹3,000 discount coupon, in addition to bank discounts.

The OnePlus 9RT is expected to cost the same as the OnePlus 9R. Hence, it makes sense for the brand to stop selling the aged model.

The upcoming OnePlus 9RT brings certain updated features like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, a 50MP primary camera, and a larger 6.62-inch display. It will compete against the likes of Xiaomi 11T Pro and Realme GT2, which are expected to debut in the region later.

Hence, if you were planning to buy the OnePlus 9R in India, then we would suggest you wait for the OnePlus 9RT to go on sale in the coming days.

OnePlus 10 Pro becomes the official phone for Peace Elite Pro League 2022

OnePlus has just announced that its newly launched OnePlus 10 Pro is the designated smartphone for the “Peace Elite” professional league esports competition. The device is the latest flagship grade handset from the company and sports top notch specs and features like HyperBoost technology that make it great for mobile gaming.

For those unaware, the HyperBoost technology is an AI based algorithm that is designed to make games run smoother and stabler. The Chinese brand claimed that it took 2 years to develop and enables the 10 Pro to offer higher frames by tweaking the graphics fidelity without compromising on performance. Back in December 2021, Vivo announced the Vivo Y55s 5G phone with Dimensity 700 onboard in China. Fresh information reveals that the Chinese manufacturer could be gearing up to launch the Vivo Y55 5G in the home market. A report by Bestopedia gives the first look at the Vivo Y55 5G and its case images. It has also revealed some of the key specs of the smartphone.

The Vivo Y55s 5G that debuted in China has a model number of V2164A, but the upcoming Y55 5G’s model number is said to be V2127. This model was spotted at the IMEI database and Geekbench benchmarking site in November 2021.

The render of the Vivo Y55 5G that has appeared today reveals that it has a waterdrop notch display with a noticeable chin on the front. Its right edge has a volume rocker and a power key, which seems to be integrated with a fingerprint scanner. The rectangle-shaped camera module shows that it has a triple camera unit and an LED flash.

The imprinted text in the camera housing shows that it has a 64-megapixel primary snapper. One of the case images show that its bottom edge has cutouts for a 3.5mm audio jack, a microphone, a USB-C port, and a speaker grille.

The Geekbench listing of the device had revealed that it is equipped with the Dimensity 700 chipset, 8 GB of RAM, and Android 12 OS. OznePlus 10 Pro has been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Since the smartphone has bagged an important certification, it appears that it may not take long for it to hit the shelves in India. The OnePlus 10 Pro was recently announced in China with a starting price of 4,699 Yuan (~$738: Rs 54,638).

OnePlus 10 Pro that has a NE2211 model number has been spotted in the database of BIS. As spotted by the tipster Ankit, the same model number along with its other variants such as NE2210, NE2213, NE2215, and NE2217 has been certified by the Bluetooth SIG authority. Among thee, the N2210 model number belongs to its Chinese edition.

OnePlus 10 Pro specifications

The OnePlus 10 Pro has a 6.78-inch curved edge AMOLED display with a punch-hole design. It offers a QHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. For selfies, it has a 32-megapixel front-facing camera and its back panel has an OIS-ready 50-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens with a 150-degree FOV, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with OIS support and 3x zoom.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is at the helm of the OnePlus 10 Pro. The device ships with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It is packed with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The ColorOS 12.1 with Android 12 OS comes preinstalled on the OnePlus 10 Pro.

OnePlus will be announcing the OnePlus 9RT smartphone along with the Buds Z2 TWS earbuds on Jan. 14 in India. Hence, it is likely that the OnePlus 10 Pro may debut a couple of weeks after the 9RT. A launch timeline leak for the OnePlus 10 Pro that surfaced back in November had revealed that it will be heading to global markets by March or April.

Apple is set to launch several new products this year but the most anticipated lineup from the company remains iPhone. The Cupertino-based giant will be launching the upcoming iPhone 14 series models later this year.

Ahead of the new iPhones going official, several details about the upcoming phone have surfaced online in the form of rumors and leaks, giving us a hint about what to expect. Now, details about the phone’s pricing have leaked online.

As per the latest report coming from LeaksApplePro, the company is expected to debut the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models with higher pricing compared to what Apple usually charges for these models.

It is claimed that the iPhone 14 Pro will start at $1,099 while the Pro Max will have a starting price of $1,199. However, the standard iPhone 14 model is expected to have the same starting price of $799, similar to its predecessor.

The reasoning behind the increasing pricing for the iPhone Pro models launching this year is said to be the new design and upgrades that the company will be offering for this new lineup of smartphones this year. Do note that the source claims that the price rise is still under consideration, so things could change later.

This year, Apple is expected to launch four models in the lineup, including iPhone 14 with a 6.1-inch screen, iPhone 14 Max with a 6.7-inch display, iPhone 14 Pro with a 6.1-inch display, and iPhone 14 Pro Max with a 6.7-inch screen.

At the end of December 2021, Samsung Exynos released a twee saying that it will be announcing the next Exynos chip featuring AMD’s RDNA2 GPU on Jan. 11. The date has passed and there was no announcement from the brand and the tweet has also been deleted. According to tipster Ice Universe, the South Korean company has postponed the launch of Exynos 2200.

Samsung is known for releasing flagship phones with Snapdragon and Exynos chips in different markets. The upcoming Galaxy S22 lineup is also expected to arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200 depending on the region. However, it is now unclear whether the company will be announcing Exynos 2200 powered S22 lineup.

At present, there is no new update from Samsung Exynos on the arrival of the Exynos 2200. Last year, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S21 series of smartphones on Jan. 14. Two days before the announcement, the brand had unleashed the Exynos 2100 chip. Hence, there is a possibility that the Exynos 2200 chip may go official in February.

The South Korean media recently reportedly that the Galaxy Unpacked event for the S22 lineup will be held on Feb. 8. Hence, it is likely that the Exynos 2200 may break cover before the launch of the S22 lineup. The report also claimed that the sales of the S22 models will begin on Feb. 24.

What’s surprising is that a Korean tipster the S22 series will debut without the Exynos chip. According to the leaker, the Galaxy S22 series heading to South Korea, the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East will be equipped with the Snapdragon chip. He added that the Exynos 2200 variants may arrive later and possibly in other markets.
