Design
If you need the most elegant and original design, you should opt for the Realme GT Neo. Its color variants are very attractive and the phone is also more compact. But if you are a gamer, go for the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition without thinking twice. It comes with a glass back and additional physical keys you can use as gaming triggers. It is not an elegant phone, but definitely a unique one. Further, it has the IP53 certification which makes it dust resistant and splash resistant, so you even get a great build quality. Both the front and the rear glass are protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5.
Display
The most advanced display belongs to the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition. It is an OLED panel that can show up to one billion colors, it comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, a 500 nit typical brightness, and a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. With the Realme GT Neo, you get a Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, but the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is actually superior and it even offers a wider diagonal with 6.67 inches. Note that Realme GT Neo has an in-display fingerprint reader, while it is side-mounted on the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition.
Specs & Software
The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition and the Realme GT Neo are able to offer the same performance level. They are both powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 mobile platform which is actually the best SoC released by MediaTek. The chipset is paired with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The phones run Android 11 out of the box, customized by MIUI and Realme UI, respectively. With the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, you have more choices in terms of memory configurations, but it is a draw.
Camera
Even the camera setups are more or less the same. On the paper, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition looks slightly superior because it comes with a brighter focal aperture for the main camera (f/1.7 aperture), but the sensors are the same: a 64 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP macro camera. Both the phones sport a 16 MP front snapper as well.
The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is able to offer a longer battery life thanks to its bigger battery: the capacity is 5065 mAh, while Realme GT Neo has just 4500 mAh. The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition also comes with a faster charging technology, thanks to a 65W power. Realme GT Neo stops at 50W, but given that its battery is smaller, we expect similar charging times. None of these phones supports wireless charging, neither reverse charging.
Price
Redmi K40 Gaming Edition carries a starting price of about €389/$475 at the actual change, while Realme GT Neo starts from about €260/$318 in its base variant with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage. The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is actually a superior phone thanks to its better display, bigger battery, better build quality. But the Realme GT Neo has a higher value for money as it offers all the power of the Dimensity 1200 chipset at an incredibly affordable price. Unfortunately, none of these phones is available in the global market.
Xiaomi Redmi K40 Gaming Edition vs Realme GT Neo: PRO and CONS
Microsoft has made multiple attempts at launching a lite version of Windows but they either failed or didn’t pick up, or in the case of Windows 10X, never got to launch. The tech giant has revealed that the much-awaited version of Windows that is supposed to take on Chrome OS has now been canceled.
windows 10x UI
In a statement released by the company for the Windows 10 May 2021 update, John Cable, the vice president, Windows Servicing and Delivery, said Windows 10X will not make it to market but some of its key foundational technology will be integrated into Windows and other products.
“Instead of bringing a product called Windows 10X to market in 2021 like we originally intended, we are leveraging learnings from our journey thus far and accelerating the integration of key foundational 10X technology into other parts of Windows and products at the company,”
He goes on to say that the technology of Windows 10X can be useful in more ways and should not be limited to a category of users which is why it took the decision not to launch the product anymore.
Some of the features of Windows 10X are said to be integrated into Windows Insider preview builds. These include “Microsoft Defender Application Guard, an enhanced Voice Typing experience, and a modernized touch keyboard with optimized key sizing, sounds, colors, and animations”.
Windows 10X was originally supposed to come bundled with dual-screen devices such as the delayed Surface Neo. However, Microsoft said it was shifting the target to single-screen laptops. There are speculations that the Surface Neo may eventually be canceled.
HMD Global may soon launch two new models in its Nokia C-series line. New info has surfaced that reveals the new devices will arrive as the Nokia C20 Plus and the Nokia C30 and they will pack big batteries.
According to Nokibar via Baidu, the Nokia C20 Plus will have a 5000mAh battery capacity while the Nokia C30 will have a 6000mAh battery capacity. The former is a big jump from the 3000mAh battery of the standard Nokia C20 while the latter is the biggest battery capacity in a Nokia phone.
The Nokia C20 and Nokia C30 are expected to look like this
Sketches of both devices included in the leak show that both phones have a similar design with the notable differences being their size and the fingerprint scanner on the Nokia C30. Both phones have dual rear cameras housed in a round housing and flanked on the left by an LED flash. There is a hole in the back panel for the speaker and an audio jack sits at the top.
Considering the Nokia C-series are known to run Android Go, these two devices should run Android 11 Go Edition out of the box. We can also expect them to be powered by UNISOC chipsets.
The source reports that one of the two phones will be launched in China but we don’t know which one it will be. There is also no info on when they are expected to launch.

Panasonic has a new rugged tablet and it has some pretty nice features, one of which is a removable battery. The Panasonic TOUGHBOOK S1 as it is called packs mid-range specs and not the latest you will find in a 2021 phone but it should suffice.
The tablet is quite thick which isn’t surprising considering it is designed to take a beating. The buttons are big, there are flaps covering the ports, and the screws holding it together are visible.
The 7” display has a 1280 x 800 resolution and a brightness level of 500 nits. Alongside a glove mode which is a common feature of rugged mobile devices, Panasonic has also included a Rain Mode that can detect when raindrops fall on the screen and ignore it while you are using it.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor and has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage with a slot for storage expansion. There is a built-in barcode scanner, a full-sized USB-A port, and a USB-C port. The tablet has an IP65/67 rating and is MIL-STD-810H certified. It can also support drops from up to 5 feet.
The tablet has a warm-swappable battery. What this means is that, when you remove the battery, the tablet doesn’t go off as there is another built-in battery that keeps it on for a short while. Panasonic will be selling batteries with different capacities, so you can buy the one that suits you best. The Panasonic TOUGHBOOK S1 comes in Wi-Fi and LTE versions. The latter has support for AT&T’s FirstNet Band 14 which is for first responders.
Panasonic ships it with Android 10 but will update it to Android 12. This is an enterprise device, so you won’t be able to pick one up at a store. However, it has been reported that the base model has a $2499 price tag.
Xiaomi recently launched a Smoke Detector manufactured in conjunction with Honeywell. The Chinese tech giant has now announced a similar product dubbed Xiaomi Honeywell Gas Leak Detector. The product will be available under crowdfunding from May 19.
Just as the name implies, the Xiaomi Honeywell Gas Leak Detector is designed to monitor natural gas leaks in real-time. The device is integrated with a high-decibel alarm that will be triggered when a gas leak is detected. The leak detector can also be linked to close the solenoid valve.
Apart from the gas leak detection feature, the Xiaomi Gas Detector is integrated with Bluetooth gateway, bringing on board Xiaomi’s AloT smart experience. In terms of the design, it uses dual front and rear air inlets and built-in sensors. When the natural gas concentration reaches the alarm set value, the device will immediately send out an audible and visual alarm signal. The alarm sound is as last as 70dB.
. Apart from the integrated alarm on the device, the alarm also triggers other alarms on other Xiaomi smart home devices. At the same time, the MIJIA app will send messages remotely to the connected smartphone in order for the leak to be tackled immediately even if you are not at home.
The device can be installed either on the ceiling or mounted on a wall. However, it can’t be installed directly above the gas cylinder or cooker. When a leak is detected, the device can trigger the closure of the solenoid valve through the connection terminal linkage, thus cutting off the gas supply.
The Xiaomi Honeywell Gas Leak Detector carries a retail price of 179 yuan (~$28) but will be available during the crowdfunding exercise for 169 yuan (~$26).

Multiple reports have claimed that Samsung may announce the Galaxy A22 4G and Galaxy A22 5G in different markets in June. A recent report claimed that certain markets may receive the Galaxy F22 as a rebranded version of the A22 4G. Now, a newly spotted Geekbench listing (via Nashville Chatter Class) shows that Samsung is working on a phone called the Galaxy M22. The listing suggests that it could be a rebranded version of the A22 4G.
The purported Galaxy M22 with model number SM-M225FV has surfaced on Geekbench. The listing reveals that it is fueled by the MediaTek Helio G80 (MT6769V/CT model number). The Galaxy A22 4G is also expected to arrive with the same SoC.
While the Galaxy A22 4G is said to be equipped with 6 GB of RAM, the Geekbench listing of the alleged M22 reveals that it has 4 GB of RAM. The device is preloaded with Android 11 OS. Its appearance at Geekbench suggests that the company could be internally testing its performance before its launch.
It is likely that the Galaxy M22 may borrow most of its specs from the Galaxy A22 4G. Rumors surrounding the Galaxy A22 claimed that it has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display that delivers a 60Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. It is likely to house a 5,000mAh battery with 15W charging support.
The back panel of the phone is said to be equipped with a 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel quad-camera system. It may feature a front camera of 13-megapixel.

Samsung Electronics, the world’s leading smartphone maker as well as one of the leaders in the chip manufacturing business, is reportedly all set to start construction of chip plant in the United States in the third quarter of this year.
The U.S. chip plant, which is estimated to cost around $17 billion, is expected to be operational by the year 2024. The report comes through Reuters which has cited a South Korean newspaper as its source.
It adds that Samsung is planning to apply an advanced 5-nanometer extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography chip-making process at the plant. While not yet confirmed by the company, the new plant is expected to be in Austin, Texas.
Documents filed with Texas state officials previously showed Samsung is considering Austin as one of the sites for a new $17 billion chip plant. As per the company’s own estimates, it will create around 1,800 jobs.
U.S. President Joe Biden has proposed $50 billion to support chip manufacturing, which has spurred companies like Intel Corp and contract manufacturer Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co to consider major new investments.
Recently, it was reported that TSMC could be planning to invest tens of billions of dollars for establishing cutting-edge chip factories in the United States, likely in the state of Arizona. As noted above, the moves comes after Joe Biden signed an executive order incentivizing manufacturers to shift base to the United States.
Samsung is the world’s largest memory chip producer and the second largest foundry firm. For the upcoming $17 billion foundry factory in the US, apart from Texas, it is also considering other locations, including Arizona and New York.
It’s noteworthy that the company already has a chip facility in Austin, Texas, but the need for additional U.S. investment emerged after its rival companies have moved ahead for capacity expansions. TSMC has announced that it will invest $100 billion over the next three years for capacity expansion.

To further support the local government, the smartphone maker has even donated 300 Oppo Band Style to Hyberabad police workforce recently, along with donations of 1,000 oxygenators and 500 breathing machines as well.
