OnePlus launches 2-in-1 SUPERVOOC Cable with dual charging for phone and smartwatch

OnePlus has launched a new charging accessory aimed at users who want to charge both their smartphone and smartwatch with a single cable. The new 2-in-1 SUPERVOOC Cable (8A, 1.2M) is priced at $29.99 and is now available for purchase through official channels.

OnePlus 2-in-1 SUPERVOOC Cable Specifications

The cable measures 120cm in length and supports up to 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging when used to charge a phone alone. When used for simultaneous charging, the cable can deliver 67W to a smartphone and 10W to a smartwatch, allowing users to power up both devices at the same time without compromising significantly on speed.

One end of the cable features a standard USB-A connector, while the other end splits into two outputs, a USB-C plug for phones and a magnetic POGO pin connector designed specifically for OnePlus smartwatches. The magnetic connector attaches securely to the back of the watch with two gold charging pins and eliminates the need to carry a separate watch charger during travel.

OnePlus has included an E-marker smart chip inside the cable to provide protection against overloading and ensure stable power delivery. The cable also uses thickened pure copper cores to enhance both charging speed and safety. Its cable design is coated in bright red, while the white connector housings maintain the signature OnePlus aesthetic.

The 2-in-1 SUPERVOOC Cable is compatible with select OnePlus devices and is tailored for users who already use both a OnePlus smartphone and a OnePlus smartwatch. It is not designed to work with wearables from other brands.

TCL has launched its new C72K QD-Mini LED TV series in India. The lineup includes screen sizes ranging from 55 inches to 98 inches and features high-end specifications such as 4K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. The C72K series is now available for purchase starting at Rs. 84,990 ($988) through major offline and online retailers including Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, and Reliance Digital.

The C72K TV features TCL’s QD-Mini LED technology paired with a CrystGlow HVA panel and precise dimming zones, which enhance brightness, contrast, and image accuracy. It reaches up to 2600 nits peak brightness and supports Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG for high dynamic range content. The display also supports TCL’s proprietary All-Domain Halo Control system, which minimizes blooming and improves black level performance.

The TV features a premium ultra-slim design with a metallic body and an edgeless display. 1. A Major Redesign Is on the Horizon?

The iPhone 17 series is expected to feature a refreshed design. Recent reports revealed the design of the iPhone 17 Pro in leaked hands-on images. Apple is getting rid of the flat frame in favor of more rounded corners (similar to older iPhones), with the module on the rear becoming a large rectangular camera island.

It is unclear if this design language is standard across the series, but leaks have hinted at a smaller pill shaped cutouts on the front, thinner bezels, and a lighter chassis as well. Interestingly, Apple is moving back to aluminum for all devices for the frame as well as the horizontal bar on the back. The standard iPhone 17 could retain the simpler and smaller camera modules.

2. Introducing the iPhone 17 Air?

Apple offers four models in its annual flagship lineup that included the standard, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max. But it might shake things up this year with a new iPhone 17 Air. Rumors have also hinted at a new anti-reflective, scratch-resistant coating for all iPhone 17 displays.

4. Better Cameras

While the non-Pro models are getting a higher refresh rate panel, the major upgrade for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to be their cameras. Both models might get an improved 48MP telephoto lens with a 3.5x zoom (down from 5x on its predecessor). While this could appear like a downgrade, Apple might have the right idea, as these could enable the telephoto shooter to be more practical for portrait shots. Another upgrade that is universal to all four models is a new 24MP selfie shooter.

Exynos 2500 skipped for Z Fold7; Exynos 2600 still unconfirmed for Galaxy S26

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch in January 2026 — but the question of which chip will power the new flagships remains open. With Samsung pushing its in-house Exynos chips for more devices, a recent comment from a key executive has stirred fresh speculation about the Galaxy S26’s processor lineup.

At the NAEK Young Festival in Seoul, Park Yong-in, President of Samsung System LSI, spoke about the development of the Exynos 2600. While he sounded confident about the chip’s progress, Park stopped short of confirming whether it would be used in the Galaxy S26 series.

Earlier this year, Samsung MX — the mobile division — surprised many by using the Exynos 2500 in the Galaxy Z Flip7 and the Exynos 2400 in the Z Flip7 FE, breaking from its usual reliance on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. Park said the Exynos 2600 was “progressing well” and hinted at “good results” ahead, but made it clear that MX will make the final call on whether the chip makes it into the S26 lineup.

The fact that the multitasking-focused Z Fold7 still relies on a Snapdragon flagship suggests the Exynos 2500 fell short of Samsung’s performance or efficiency expectations. So far, there’s been little convincing evidence of significant gains with the Exynos 2600 either — likely a key reason why the mobile division has yet to lock in a deal with System LSI, Samsung’s chipmaking arm.

Samsung had originally planned to use the Exynos 2500 for the Galaxy S25 series, only to scrap it in favor of the Snapdragon 8 Elite due to yield problems. The Exynos 2600 is reportedly facing similar yield concerns, with production rates still falling short of the 70% mark needed for mass production.

Meanwhile, Samsung MX is increasingly sourcing key components from external suppliers. The Galaxy S25, for example, used Micron memory chips instead of Samsung’s own — a trend that may continue with the S26 series. If production challenges persist, Samsung may once again turn to Qualcomm (Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2) for the Galaxy S26, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra — good news for users prioritizing performance and battery life.

Samsung reclaims top spot in global smartphone market amid fierce competition

Samsung has retaken the lead in the global smartphone market for Q2 2025, edging out rivals in a fiercely contested space, according to IDC’s latest report. The South Korean tech giant shipped 58 million smartphones in the quarter, claiming a 19.7% market share — a 7.9% increase over the same period last year when it moved 53.8 million units.

Apple followed in second place with 46.4 million shipments, securing a 15.7% share. While that’s up slightly from last year, it’s a noticeable drop from Q1 2025 — likely a result of buyers holding off for the upcoming iPhone 17 series launch this September.

Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy A36 and A56 models reportedly played a key role in this growth, thanks to AI-powered features offered at competitive prices, per IDC. However, the company’s Q2 figures were slightly down from Q1 2025’s 60.6 million shipments, when the Galaxy S25 series saw strong early demand.

Xiaomi secured third place with 42.5 million units shipped (14.4% market share), while Vivo and Transsion (which owns Infinix, Itel, and Tecno) rounded out the top five with 27.1 million and 25.1 million units shipped, respectively — both holding a 9.2% share.

Overall, the global smartphone market grew by 1% year-over-year to 295.2 million units in Q2, marking the eighth straight quarter of growth despite lingering economic concerns. Samsung’s latest flagship and foldable launches — including the Galaxy S25 Edge, Z Flip7, Z Flip7 FE, and Z Fold7 — are aimed at strengthening its premium segment, though it remains to be seen how much impact they’ll have.

Samsung’s ability to balance competitive mid-range offerings with flagship innovation helped it reclaim the top spot in Q2 2025. Whether it can hold on as rivals step up their game will be one to watch in the coming months.

Honor launches Earbuds A Pro with 49dB ANC and 42-hour battery life for just $20

Alongside the debut of its new X70 smartphone, Honor also rolled out a new pair of wireless earbuds tonight, the Honor Earbuds A Pro. These are an affordable set of wireless buds that focus on delivering the essentials rather than anything extra.

Honor Earbuds A Pro Specifications

The Earbuds A Pro offer 49dB active noise cancellation, which is deeper than what’s found on most budget wireless earbuds. Honor claims that the earbuds utilize AI-assisted noise reduction to enhance call clarity by intelligently filtering out background sound.

For audio, each earbuds are fitted with a 12.4mm dynamic driver, which Honor says is tuned for “surging sound” and “pure original audio.” Surprisingly, they also have spatial audio support, though it’s not clear whether this is hardware-based or simply a software-driven effect.

Battery life is where Honor seems to be trying to win over users. The company says you’ll get 9 hours of use on a single charge, and up to 42 hours with the charging case. A quick 10-minute top-up reportedly delivers 3 hours of listening time, which is fairly typical for modern earbuds.

The earbuds weigh 5.3 grams each, while the charging case adds 37.2 grams to the overall heft. Other features include IP54 dust and splash resistance, support for tap controls (double-tap, triple-tap, long-press, etc.), and a software companion app for locating lost earbuds.

They use Bluetooth 5.3 for pairing, and users with Honor devices will also benefit from fast pairing via a smart pop-up window and cloud-synced connection records that help skip re-pairing when switching phones.

Price and Availability

Priced at 149 yuan (around $20), the Honor Earbuds A Pro are now officially available for purchase in China from the company’s official site. They come in three color options: white, purple, and green.

China’s MIIT proposes stricter standards for power banks to address safety concerns

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China has proposed new mandatory national standards for power banks. The move comes amid growing concerns over the safety of lithium-ion battery-powered portable chargers.

According to a report from China, the proposed standards are part of a draft revision of the “Safety Technical Specification for Mobile Power Supplies.” MIIT is currently seeking public feedback on the plan. The new guidelines aim to improve product reliability and user safety by introducing tougher safety tests and regulatory oversight.

The revised standards include extreme stress tests such as overcharging, puncture, compression, and thermal abuse. These additions build upon existing safety requirements for lithium-ion batteries used in power banks. The proposal also plans to regulate key production processes and critical materials used in battery cells and packs. MIIT will also evaluate how power banks perform after long-term use and aging.

The push for stricter regulation follows a global rise in power bank-related incidents. In the United States, Anker has recalled around 1.16 million units of its PowerCore 10000 (model A1263) sold between June 2016 and December 2022. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported 19 incidents involving overheating, fire, or explosion. These events caused minor injuries and over $60,000 in property damage.

Australia has also raised concerns. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has issued 17 power bank recalls since 2020, with 34,000 faulty units still in use. Experts attribute the rise in safety risks to weak regulations and growing demand for portable charging devices. Airlines have also started tightening rules after a recent in-flight fire was linked to a power bank.

The MIIT proposal aims to address these issues by setting a higher safety benchmark for all mobile power products sold in China. If implemented, the new standards could influence global manufacturers and lead to stricter international safety norms.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold almost confirmed to be the first foldable with an IP68 rating

Google’s gearing up to launch its Pixel 10 series, and like last year, it’s bringing a foldable companion along for the ride. While we already expected the standard Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro, a fresh leak has now detailed nearly everything about the upcoming Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

First off, battery life is getting a massive upgrade. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is reportedly packing a 5,015mAh cell, making it not just larger than last year’s 4,650mAh Pixel Fold but also comfortably outpacing the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 4,400mAh battery.

Interestingly, Google is sticking with a lithium-ion battery, unlike the newer silicon-carbon cells used by some Chinese foldables.

Not much of an upgrade in design

In terms of design, the Pixel 10 Fold doesn’t stray far from its predecessor. The outer cover display is now slightly larger at 6.4 inches, while the main inner screen stays at 8 inches. One upgrade for the display is that it is expected to reach a peak brightness of 3,000 nits vs 2,700 nits on the predecessor.

Both the inner and cover displays house 10MP selfie cameras, while the rear camera array includes a 48MP main sensor, a 10.5MP ultrawide, and a 10.8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.

Under the hood, Google is expected to debut its first 3nm Tensor chip—the Tensor G5—paired with 16GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB.

And perhaps the most impressive upgrade is that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is tipped to be the first foldable phone with an IP68 rating. That means it’s both dust- and water-resistant. For comparison, the Fold 7 has IP48 protection while the Vivo X Fold 5 is IP58/IP59+ rated.

Honor has just announced the Honor X70 in China. It is the brand’s latest budget smartphone that takes durability and battery life to the next step with an IP69K rating and a humongous battery pack. So here’s everything you need to know.

Honor X70: What does it offer?

The Chinese brand has packed an impressive set of features on the Honor X70 despite the device measuring just 7.76mm in thickness and weighing 199 grams. The body is also protected by an IP66 + IP68 + IP69K rating for improved water and dust resistance. In essence, it is dustproof and can survive being submerged in water and high-pressure jets as well. On the front, the Honor X70 sports a tall 6.79-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 100 percent DCI-PC color gamut, 3840Hz PWM dimming, and up to 6000 nits of peak brightness.

Tesla launches Model Y in India starting at Rs. 60.99 lakh, with deliveries from late 2025

Tesla has officially launched the Model Y electric SUV in India, marking the company’s long-anticipated debut in the country. The launch follows a teaser released last week and coincides with the opening of Tesla’s first Experience Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex.

Tesla will offer two rear-wheel drive variants of the Model Y. Bookings are now open on the official website, and deliveries are scheduled to begin later this year. The base Rear-Wheel Drive variant will start shipping in Q3 2025, while the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive model will be available from Q4 2025. Initial deliveries will be limited to Mumbai, Delhi, and Gurugram.

The Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive is priced at ₹60,99,690 (on-road), while the Long Range version costs ₹69,07,690. These prices include registration and taxes but may vary depending on state regulations.

The Model Y features a minimal exterior design with updated front and rear lightbars, a panoramic glass roof, and acoustic laminated glass to reduce road noise. Inside the cabin, Tesla has included soft-touch materials, ambient lighting, and aluminum trim. The dashboard features a 15.4-inch central touchscreen and an 8-inch display for rear passengers.

Both variants include heated and ventilated front seats, heated and power-reclining second-row seats, and dual-zone climate control. Tesla claims the standard Model Y offers a WLTP range of 500 km and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The Long Range model increases the range to 622 km and completes the same sprint in 5.6 seconds.

The Model Y supports Tesla’s digital ecosystem, which includes Tesla Theater for streaming, Tesla Arcade for in-car gaming, and app-based remote controls. Standard features also include a 9-speaker sound system, dashcam and Sentry Mode, Bluetooth rear seat controls, and route-aware charging suggestions.

Safety features include Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Avoidance. Tesla has included eight external cameras, including a new front-facing unit, to support future software-based driver-assist upgrades.

In a surprising twist, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 FE might be faster than the standard Galaxy S25. But we aren’t talking about raw performance, the brand’s upcoming budget flagship will be getting faster charging speeds that matches the top end Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Galaxy S25 FE Charging Upgrade Outpaces Base S25 Model

The news arrives from a TÜV Rheinland certification listing (via SammyGuru). On the database, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE was seen with support for 10V/4.5A or 15V/3A wired fast charging, which translates to around 45W. This marks a notable upgrade in terms of charging in the popular Fan Edition family. To recall, the Galaxy FE models have been stuck with 25W wired fast charging, even with last year’s Galaxy S24 FE.

But the Galaxy S25 FE will finally get a big upgrade with 45W wired fast charging support, which is the same as the flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra. This is just one among the various improvements planned for the Galaxy S25 FE that could make it the best Fan Edition phone to date. Just recently, the renders of this model were leaked, showcasing a familiar design. A sighting on the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) database also confirmed support for the Qi2 wireless charging standard.

Based on what we know so far, the device is getting slimmer, with a 7.4mm body that almost matches the 7.2mm body of the smaller Galaxy S25. The front sports a 6.7-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 FE was spotted with an Exynos 2400 SoC on GeekBench, which could be paired with 8GB of RAM and Android 16 OS out of the box.

At the beginning of this month, Realme unveiled the Realme C71 4G went official in Vietnam. Today, the brand announced the said device in India without any fanfare. Its launch follows last month’s debut of the Realme C73 5G. Here’s a look at the specifications, features, and price of the device for the Indian market.

Realme C71 specifications and features

The Realme C71 features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD panel with an HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 563 nits in High Brightness Mode. Despite its sizeable screen and battery, the phone is just 7.94mm thick and weighs 201 grams.

On the software side, the Realme C71 runs Android 15 with Realme UI 6.0. The phone is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera featuring an OmniVision OV13B sensor and an LED flash. Around the camera module, Realme has added a Pulse Light design that supports multiple colors and customizable glowing modes. According to the brand, the contest aims to explore and celebrate the creativity of mobile photographers across India. With entries now open, the company has introduced new categories, notable jury members, and a cultural focus for this year’s edition.

The 2025 Oppo Photography Awards, now powered by Lumo, replaces last year’s imagine IF initiative. It continues the brand’s focus on mobile imaging while shifting its attention to the creative process behind each photograph. Oppo has partnered with Discovery to introduce a special “Super Culture Moment” category under its broader “Culture in a Shot” campaign, encouraging participants to document India’s diverse traditions and lifestyles using Oppo’s latest camera tech.

This year’s jury includes celebrated photographer Joseph Radhik and Vikram Channa, VP at Warner Bros Discovery and editorial lead for Southeast Asia. They will oversee a two-round process.

In Round 1, Indian citizens aged 18+ can submit images across nine categories with titles and short descriptions (60–150 words). Fifty finalists will then be chosen for the next stage.

Round 2 will task finalists with completing a creative challenge using the Oppo Find X8 Pro. Winners will be selected based on creativity, impact, and storytelling. Prizes include Rs 5,00,000 for the Gold winner, Rs 2,00,000 for Silver, and Rs 1,00,000 for Bronze. Winners across each category will also receive Oppo’s latest flagship device.
