The name for Google‘s next-gen Android OS version is still shrouded in mystery. While we know it adopts the letter P, we still can’t say what the P stands for. Google may soon reveal that officially, though. That is if the latest rumour surrounding Android P launch is anything to cling on to. According to popular Twitter tipster Evan Blass, Google with officially launch the new Android version on August 20.
The post didn’t contain any other detail about the next iteration of Android but the date doesn’t look unrealistic. Android P has for a while now been part of developer previews. The first developer preview rolled out for Google’s Pixel models some 5 months back and since then five developer preview builds have been released. The Pixel handsets will be the first models to get Android P when it debuts. Google did reveal that the Nexus models, including the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Pixel C won’t get the upcoming upgrade.
We can’t verify if the launch date is correct because Google is yet to reveal anything officially pertaining to the launch date. However, it is interesting to note that Android 8.0 Oreo launch took place on August 21 last year. So, it is possible Android P would debut this August.
The Honor Note 10 and OnePlus 6 are among the best choices among value for money flagships under $600. The former is the biggest flagship phablet out there in 2018, while the latter is one of the most powerful phones ever thanks to its top-end hardware side and excellent software optimization. Which one is more suitable for an advanced user? We will try to let you know in this Honor Note 10 vs OnePlus 6 specs comparison.
Both Honor Note 10 and OnePlus 6 boast an impressive design with a glass back and an aluminum frame like the most premium flagships. But I would personally pick OnePlus 6 for two reasons which are not related to individual preference. First, thanks to its notch, it features a higher screen-to-body ratio (but not everyone likes the notch and you may be among the ones hating it). Secondly, OnePlus 6 is splash resistant (no IP certification given), while Honor Note 10 does not provide any protection against water.
Display
Talking about displays, Honor Note 10 is way more interesting as it is equipped with a huge 6.9-inch screen, the biggest panel with a tall aspect ratio ever seen on a smartphone. It also supports AMOLED and HDR10 technologies, providing stunning viewing quality. It is a comfortable display for multimedia, multi-tasking, and games. But note that, even though it has very narrow bezels, it makes the smartphone much bigger than its opponent. Due to its dimensions, Honor Note 10 is not a smartphone for everyone.
Honor Note 10 vs OnePlus 6: Specs & Software
On the paper, OnePlus 6 wins the performance comparison thanks to its Snapdragon 845 chipset, up to 8 GB of RAM and blazing speeds in every scenario. But Honor Note 10 has still a great flagship-level hardware composed of a Kirin 970 SoC and up to 8 GB of RAM. It is optimized for gaming thanks to its GPU Turbo technology which raises performance by up to 60%, but we think OnePlus 6 remains a better phone when it comes to performance. However, we will have to test the Honor Note 10 for a definitive confirmation. OnePlus 6 comes with a stock Android experience (OxygenOS), while its opponent has the highly customized EMUI. In general, its hard to pick out a definitive winner in this section since both are powerful phones.
Honor Note 10 vs OnePlus 6: Camera
The camera side seems better on the OnePlus 6 on the paper, even though we still had no chance to see a good amount of camera samples taken from the Honor Note 10. But OnePlus 6 has a brighter aperture and provides stunning detail in almost every light condition, so we doubt that Honor Note 10 will even get close to its opponent. Further, the OP6 features OIS and even 4K videos are stabilized.
Battery
OnePlus 6 is just an average battery phone with its capacity of just 3300 mAh. OnePlus never aimed to provide a very long battery life but it prefers to focus on the thickness by equipping its devices with a “one-day battery”. On the other hand, Honor Note 10 has a big 5000 mAh unit thanks to its big size allowing its presence. So, it will last way more than its opponent. On the other hand, OnePlus 6 charges faster thanks to its Dash Charge technology and obviously the smaller battery.
Honor Note 10 vs OnePlus 6: Price
Honor Note 10 is currently available only in China and its price starts from $452. OnePlus 6 costs €519 worldwide and about $503 in China. So, there is not a big difference in prices. Further, I am unable to pick a winner of the comparison which could be suitable for every kind of user. If you like bigger displays and you do not mind about having a very big device, then you should go for the Honor Note 10. But OnePlus 6 has better performance as well as a better camera department. If you are a gamer, the OnePlus 6 may apparently look the best choice, but the liquid cooling system included in the Honor Note 10 and the way longer battery life make it more suitable even for many gamers.
Vivo NEX that not only include flagship specs like Snapdragon 845, high screen-to-body ratio display, in-screen fingerprint scanner and more has gained a lot popularity for its innovative design and features. A Chinese publication has disassembled the Vivo NEX smartphone to reveal its complex and sophisticated construction.
The disassembly begins with the removal of the SIM card tray. The backside of the phone is made out of glass which can be removed after treating it with heat by means of a hair dryer. After ten minutes of carefully heating the back glass, it can be slowly sucked up by using a suction cup. A crowbar is also required to cut the double-sided tape after which the back cover comes off easily. Following image shows how does the Vivo NEX appear after removing its back cover.
The motherboard and tail plug are connected by using two cables. There is a graphite heat sink for heat dissipation. There is a protective cover on the motherboard for securing and for protecting other components. After removing the screws, the protective cover can be taken off with ease. The space of the motherboard is compressed because of the dual camera setup and the motorized front camera module.
The device is required to be turned off in order to separate the cables connected to the motherboard. First, the left and right button cables are removed and then the two tail plug cables can be disconnected to separate the motherboard. The next step involves disconnecting the cables that are connected to the dual rear camera, headphone jack and sensors.
There is a mother-screw that the connects the front camera module to the motherboard. After lifting up and removing the front camera with a crowbar, the motherboard can be taken out. Following image is of the motherboard that looks like a mountain. There are very few exposed components on it.
Most of the area of the motherboard is covered with a shield and there is hardly any gap between the shields present on it. Below the main shield is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SOC and 8 GB RAM that are housed in a a common package. Since it is a highly integrated motherboard, a local technician may not be able to fix it on their own if it malfunctions. The only solution is to contact the official after-sales service to fix problems that are associated with the motherboard.
Only after removing the motherboard, the vertical dual camera can be de-seated using a crowbar. The main camera is of 12-megapixel with f/1.8 aperture and 4-axis optical image stabilization and the secondary camera is of 5-megapixel with f/2.4 aperture. The thickness of the main camera is less than the secondary camera. The main camera does not have a heat sink behind but a small piece of copper heat sink can be found underneath the secondary camera.
After removing the dual camera, the earphone hole can be ejected using a pry bar. The earphone hole is guarded by a rubber pad to prevent water from flowing inside. The sensor module that includes sensors like ambient sensor and proximity sensor can be removed using a tweezer.
If there is something wrong with one of the sensors, the entire sensor module must be replaced. After the sensor module is only accessible after removing the motherboard. The portion of the AMOLED screen corresponding the sensor module is transparent.
Next is the linear vibrator that can be removed using a tweezer. It functions as the earphone of the Vivo NEX and the sound emitted from it can be heard through the display. In order to remove the battery, the upper tail cable has to be disconnected and the 6 screws present on the left and right sides needs to be unscrewed. The ALT supplied 4,000mAh battery that supports 22.5W flash charging can be then removed.
After removing the tail plugs cables, coaxial lines, the screen cable can be lifted. Among the two tail plug cables, the first one is for motherboard which is responsible for transmitting data and power. The other one is responsible for the screen cable which is responsible for transmitting display and touch data.
The shape of the tail plug is also irregular, and the microSD card slot is also placed on it. A vibration motor is placed underneath the tail plug which can be taken out using a tweezer. Next comes the fingerprint module that is secured with two screws. After removing the screens, the fingerprint sensor can be removed gently through a tweezer.
Vivo is using third-generation in-screen fingerprint module which appears like camera. It looks very different from the predecessor fingerprint module that looked like a chip. The AMOLED screen is transparent at the portion where the fingerprint scanner is placed.
The most complex step of disassembling the Vivo NEX is the removal of the front camera module as it features many small parts and screws. The springs act as a cushion and the spiral stepper motor present on the right side is responsible for propelling the camera upwards. After removing the motorized assembly, the front camera can be pulled out from the top. The front camera is fully packaged which means if it encounters any problem, it should be replaced through the official after-sales service.
The OLED screen of the Vivo NEX and the mid-frame are glued together. If the applied heating is not sufficient, the display can crack. When a new screen has be installed on the phone, too much pressure should not be applied when it is attached to the mid-frame. Hence, it is advisable to contact Vivo’s after-sales service to fix a cracked display.
The Vivo NEX teardown reveals the different new technologies that the company has applied on the construction of the smartphone. The publication claims it took 3 hours to completely disassemble the Vivo NEX. The internal arrangement of the components is complicated, and the company has used good quality parts on the phone.

It about that time of the year when tech enthusiasts gather in Berlin for the annual IFA trade show. The event will take place from August 31 to September 5 and some companies have started sending out invitations for their keynote event. Samsung has now announced its press conference scheduled to hold on August 30.
It is difficult to guess what the company would showcase on that day since there is already the Galaxy Unpacked event holding on August 9 where the Galaxy Note 9, as well as a new Galaxy Watch, is expected to be announced. However, the poster seems to suggest that the tech giant may be unveiling several of its latest smart home products. The poster contains a smart TV, a smart refrigerator, washing machine and an S Pen-packing smartphone. So, we may likely see a new Smart TV perhaps more innovative than the Frame announced last year. There is also the possibility of a new smart washing machine as well as a new edition of the Family Hub refrigerator being unveiled.
It is now less than a week before Samsung officially unveils the Galaxy Note 9. The flagship phablet is billed to go official on August 9 when the Galaxy Unpacked event will hold. However, a promotional video for the Note 9 has just been leaked on Samsung’s New Zealand YouTube channel.
The video introduces the Galaxy Note 9, highlighting the major features of the phablet, especially the redesigned S-pen. The video has since been taken down but thankfully, it is still online in case you care for an early preview. It also affords us the opportunity to see the device is real life images with the model having a Coral Blue color. The S Pen appears in yellow and is promoted as coming with Bluetooth connectivity and additional features.
One other thing, the Galaxy Note 9 promotional video also hints at a massive storage especially the expandable capability. In essence, it suggests the storage can be expanded via microSD slot up to 1 terabyte. This may actually play out with the device having a 512GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 500GB using the microSD slot. Another point in the teaser is the prolonged battery life which the device promises to offer with the screamer “all day battery life”. Don’t expect more than the bumped up 4000mAh battery the device has been confirmed to feature. The video also confirms the rear dual camera arrangement that was leaked earlier on. You can check out the promotional video from below.
Recently, there were reports making rounds that Alphabet‘s Google could relaunch its operation in the Chinese market with a censored version of its search engine. But, the latest report from state-owned China Securities Daily reveals that it’s not happening.
China Securities Daily, citing information from “relevant departments”, reports that the search engine giant is not trying to return to the Chinese market. However, previous reports had indicated that a censored version of Google search engine for China is in the works that will block some websites and certain search terms.
The said censored version of the search engine project has a code-name “Dragonfly” and has reportedly been underway since the spring of 2017. The report further adds that the progress on the project picked up after a December meeting between Google’s Chief Executive Sundar Pichai and top Chinese government officials.
Certain search terms that the censored version of the search engine could blacklist are said to be related to human rights, democracy, religion and peaceful protests. The Intercept says that a working version of this had already been demonstrated to the Chinese government. The finalized version could be launched in the next six to nine months after getting approval from Chinese officials.
While Google has declined to comment on the specifics of the report, it noted that the company has launched a number of mobile application in China and works with local developers as part of maintaining its domestic presence.
The report about Google working on a censored search engine for China has already caused an outcry among human rights activists who are concerned that the company would block a long list of foreign websites and search queries including the 1989 Tiananmen massacre and information about the Chinese leadership.
For those who are unaware, Alphabet’s search engine platform was pulled out by the company in 2010 while its video platform YouTube has been blocked in China. However, the company has been attempting to make new inroads into the Chinese market.
Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are expected to debut at the start of October this year. The recent leaks surrounding the Pixel 3 duo have revealed their design, but none of the reports have carried their specifications. A Geekbench listing of the Pixel 3 XL has surfaced today to reveal some of its vital specs.
According to the Geekbench listing of the Google Pixel 3 XL, it is running on Android 9.0 P and it includes 4 GB of RAM. The name of the chipset that powers it is not mentioned. It is very likely to feature Snapdragon 845 SoC. The crosshatch codename of the Pixel 3 XL is also mentioned on the Geekbench listing.
In the single-core and multi-core tests, the Pixel 3 XL has respectively scored 2426 and 8355 points. The scores are not that impressive which suggests the handset that has appeared on the benchmarking platform could be a prototype model. The handset includes 4 GB of RAM which is not bad for a flagship phone. However, most flagship phones that have launched this year include 6 GB of RAM. Moreover, even mid-range phones such as ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro come in 6 GB RAM versions.
Hence, there is a possibility that Pixel 3 XL may also feature 6 GB RAM variant. Also, the final version of smartphone may deliver better performance than the alleged prototype that has surfaced on Geekbench.
Recent reports have revealed that the Pixel 3 will be arriving with an 18:9 aspect ratio and its larger sibling will be equipped with a notched display that will deliver a 19:9 aspect ratio. The Pixel 3 and 3 XL are expected to arrive with dual front-facing cameras and single rear shooter. These handsets are also expected to carry support for wireless charging.
Corning, Inc, the company that manufactures toughened Gorilla Glass panels for smartphone displays has confirmed through a press release today that an upcoming OPPO flagship phone will be the first device to feature Gorilla Glass 6. Since OPPO R17 and OPPO F9 are the two upcoming phones from the company, it is likely any of these may feature the Gorilla Glass 6 panel
OPPO has recently launched the OPPO Find X flagship smartphone. The handset features Gorilla Glass 5 protection for its massive display. Since the Find X is a very new flagship phone from the company, the upcoming OPPO F9 or the OPPO R17 may feature Gorilla Glass 6. Since the R17 is speculated to arrive as a high-end with in-screen fingerprint scanner, it is likely that it could be the first Gorilla Glass 6 enabled phone.
The upcoming OPPO F9 and F9 Pro are expected to feature a smaller notch than OPPO F7. Since the notch appears like a drop, the Chinese manufacturer is calling it as water droplet screen. It is speculated that the OPPO R17 may also arrive with a water droplet display.
There is no information available on the specifications of the OPPO R17. Initial rumors claim that it could be featuring Kirin 710 SoC and 6 GB of RAM. Like the other R-series smartphone, it is expected to arrive with support for VOOC flash charging. Some rumors are claiming that the OPPO R17 that is arriving in China may get unleashed as OPPO F9 in overseas market. After arriving on the next OPPO flagship phone, the Gorilla Glass 6 may arrive on the flagship smartphones from other companies later this year.
The Gorilla Glass 5 was introduced in 2015. It was first seen on the Galaxy Note 7 that had met with a premature death because of battery related issues. Since then various cellphone makers from across the world have used Gorilla Glass 5 on their smartphones. In the previous month, Corning had announced the arrival of Gorilla Glass 6. According to the company, the Gorilla Glass 6 is two times stronger than its predecessor. It has stated that the Gorilla Glass 6 could easily survive up to 15 drops from a height of 1 meter.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is launching in the coming week and the company has already started its reservations in the U.S. None of the teasers from the company have revealed the appearance of the smartphone A pre-order page for the Galaxy Note 9 had surfaced for some time on Samsung’s website for New Zealand. It featured a non-functional pre-order button and a rear image of the Note 9. The webpage has been taken down, but the render of the smartphone has been captured since it was available for some time.
The rear view of the smartphone shows that its design is not very different from the predecessor model. On the Galaxy Note 8, the dual camera and fingerprint scanner were placed on the same line like the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. To prevent users from smearing the dual cameras while accessing the fingerprint scanner, Samsung has repositioned the latter by placing it below the camera module. That’s only major change that can be seen on the entire design of the phone.
The bottom edge of the Galaxy Note 9 features a compartment for S Pen, an external speaker, USB-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. Even though it is a blue variant of the smartphone, it features a distinctive yellow colored S Pen. Recent reports have revealed that it is the only variant that will be arriving with a different colored stylus. It was revealed in the previous month through a firmware leak that S Pen exists in colors like black, gray, violet/purple, blue and brown which suggested that Note 9 may also arrive in same color variants.
Through the above render, Samsung claims that the Galaxy Note 9 is the most powerful smartphone eve from the company. The handset is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 845 / Exynos 9810 SoC. It will be featuring a 6.3-inch S-AMOLED Infinity Display that offers an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. It may come in RAM variants like 6 GB and 8 GB and storage models such as 128 GB and 512 GB. It may come packed with a decent battery of 4,000mAh battery. It may inherit the same 12-megapixel dual camera with variable aperture from the Galaxy S9+.

Yesterday, the images of the Huawei Maimang 7 had appeared on TENAA, the telecom regulatory body from China. Today, the TENAA listing of the smartphone has been updated with its entire specifications. A recent report has revealed that Huawei has shipped more number of notched display smartphones than any other phone brand in the world. The Maimang 7 which is expected to land in European markets as Mate 20 Lite is yet another smartphone with notched display.
The Maimang 7 that has a model number of SNE-AL00 measures 158.3 x 75.3 x 7.6mm and it weighs 172 grams. The TENAA listing states that apart from black, there is no other color variant of the Maimang 7 smartphone. The handset houses a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display that produces Full HD+ resolution 2340 x 1080 pixels. It means that the display will offer an aspect ratio of 19:9. The wide notch of the phone houses two front-facing cameras.
The SNE-AL00 is fueled by 2.2 GHz octa-core processor which suggests that it could be the second phone from the company to feature the Kirin 710 SoC. It is packed with 3,650mAh battery. The handset is preinstalled with Android 8.1.0 Oreo.
The SoC is coupled with 6 GB of RAM. It includes 64 GB of internal storage. Since “not support” is mentioned for external storage, it seems that the smartphone won’t be carrying support for adding a microSD card. For photography, the Maimang 7 features 20-megapixel + 2-megapixel rear-mounted dual camera and its frontside features 24-megapixel + 2-mgapixel dual camera.
The Maimang 6 that was rolled out as Mate 10 Lite in other regions had featured an aluminum body. The Maimang 7 seems to be featuring a glass build on the rear. Below the vertical dual camera, there is a fingerprint scanner. The appearance of the back panel of the phone is similar to Porsche Design Mate 10. Now that the Maimang 6 has been certified in China, it may go official soon. There is a possibility that the Mate 20 Lite may go official by September as the October launch event could be only meant for announcing Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro smartphones. Since Mate 20 Lite has a notched screen, it is likely that the Mate 20 and 20 Pro smartphones may also feature the same display design.
What do you think about the specifications and appearance of the Mate 20 Lite? Share us your views by posting your comments below.
Yesterday we reported that Huawei managed to surpass Apple for the second position in terms of smartphone market share globally. Now, another report ranks Huawei first in terms of selling smartphones with a notched display.
According to a report from Sigmaintell Consulting, in the first half of this year, Huawei shipped 25.4 million devices having a notched display, making it the leading smartphone manufacturer to ship phones with a notched display.
Apple grabbed the second spot with shipments of around 20.7 million units, followed by three Chinese phone manufacturers Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi. Out of the top five manufacturers in terms of shipping phones with a notched display, four are Chinese manufacturers.
Overall, the industry sold over 86.1 million notched devices in the first half of this year — from the beginning of the year until June 30.
Huawei, which currently stands at the second spot in terms of overall smartphone shipments globally, shipped more than 100 million phones this year so far, which means that one out of every four devices that Huawei shipped has a notched display.
The report also reveals some interesting statistics. It suggests that a-Si LCD (including Oxide LCD) screens made up 42 percent of the global shipments in the first half of the year, with 390 million units being moved. LTPS LCD panels had a 36 percent market share from 340 million units sold, while the 200 million AMOLED screens shipped in this period accounted for 21 percent market share.
Sigmaintell estimates that global smartphone shipments totaled 604 million units in the first half of 2018, down 3.3 percent compared to last year. With a drop in smartphone shipments, global shipments of smartphone panels (based on open cell models) also dipped 1.7 percent year-on-year to 930 million units in the first half despite the growing demand for all-screen and profile-cut panels.

Motorola has unveiled its latest flagship device for 2018 – the Moto Z3. The device was announced at an event held Thursday in Chicago, in the United States. The Moto Z3 will be the final flagship in the series for this year as the tech giant hinted that there would be no Z3 Force for the first time since the Moto Z line was introduced. The new model would be released later this month in the U.S as a Verizon exclusive. Also, there is no word on when the model will make its debut in other markets.
Moto Z3 Design & Features
The Moto Z3 is set to become the world’s first 5G phone as the model is 5G-upgradable when Verizon launches its 5G network next year. The model also comes with a 5G Moto mod. In terms of design, the Moto Z3 features a glass body. The device adopts a massive 6-inch AMOLED display with minimal bezels on either side. The design includes Motorola’s signature camera module with dual sensors at the back and since it is glass, the device skips on the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Instead, the fingerprint sensor is located on the right side of the device just beneath the volume rockers.
In addition, the rear panel houses the pin connector for the Moto Mods. The device is compatible with all previous MotoMods Motorola has up its sleeves as well as the new 5G Moto mods which the device comes with. The 5G Mod is developed in partnership with Verizon and it is equipped with a Snapdragon X50 modem that will allow customers to eventually take advantage of the carrier’s next-generation network.

The Moto Z3 could be called a 2018 flagship with 2017 specifications. The model is powered by last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 flagship chipset and not the Snapdragon 845 introduced this year. The chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and there is 64GB of internal storage inside.
In the camera aspect, the Moto Z3 packs dual cameras at the rear which are basically a 12MP + 12MP combo. For selfies, there is a single 8MP sensor. The flagship is crammed with a 3000mAh battery but the 5G Moto Mod delivers an extra 2,000mAh battery power when connected. Also, the device runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo OS out of the box but is expected to get a speedy update to Android 9.0 P when it arrives.
Moto Z3 Price and Availability
As stated earlier on, the Motorola Moto Z3 will be available exclusively on Verizon network in the U.S. The device will start shipping on Augst 16. As for the price, the flagship model will be available for just $480 which is quite affordable except that the processor onboard is outdated. Verizon offers those who switch networks and trade in their own device a $300 trade-in credit meaning eligible owners can get this or just $180. Of course, this pricing doesn’t include the 5G Moto Mod. The price of the Moto Mod is yet to be announced but it won’t be available until the start of 2019. Further, Motorola announced a limited-time offer which will see those who purchase the Moto Z3 buy any Moto Mod that cost over $100 for just $50. The company is yet to release details on the global rollout for the model but we expect it to hit Europe, India and China soon.

Barely three weeks after the OPPO A3s was launched in India, the Chinese manufacturer has announced a new variant with a different memory configuration from the one announced earlier. The new OPPO A3s variant comes with 3GB of RAM as well as 32GB of internal storage. The is a decent leap from the 2GB + 16GB memory combo with which the device made its earlier debut.
The memory configuration is the only thing that differentiates the 2GB variant from the new 3GB RAM version. Other than that, you get the same specifications and design on both variants. Do note that the A3s comes with a microSD slot for expanding the storage up to 256GB.
To recall, the OPPO A3s pack a 6.2-inch HD+ FullView display with 1520 x 720 pixels screen resolution, 2.5D curved glass and 19:9 aspect ratio. The display also comes with a notch and 88.8 percent screen-to-body ratio. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor clocked at 1.8GHz along with Adreno 506 GPU. On the camera end, the device features a dual camera setup at the rear comprising a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. While at the front, there is an 8MP sensor with support for AI Beauty 2.0 technology. We won’t forget in a hurry the 4230mAh battery under the hood. The phone pack connectivity features such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, FM radio, and Micro-USB.
The retail price for the 3GB + 32GB variant is yet to be revealed even though it is already listed on OPPO India’s website. However, since the 2GB version sells for Rs.10,990 (~$160), the 3GB variant shouldn’t cost more than $200. The model will be available online via Flipkart and on several offline retail stores.
There is a chance we will be getting two Mi MIX smartphones from Xiaomi this year. The first is the Mi MIX 2S which was announced back in March and the second which is said to be in development already is the Mi MIX 3.
The biggest change expected in the Mi MIX 3 is its design. A number of leaks have shown the device sporting a near bezel-less display. There are even rumors that Xiaomi may copy the pop-up selfie camera of the Vivo NEX.
Now a new rumor has surfaced saying the next Mi MIX smartphone will arrive on September 15. The info comes from an image that was shared on Weibo. The photo shows the lower half of the phone which is bezel-less, unlike its predecessors.
Apart from the date which is September 15, there are also two other captions. A rough translation of the first one is a question asking if a full-screen (display) is a combination of a notch and a bottom bezel while the second caption translates into “All cut off”. We believe the second refers to all the bezels being shaved off but we are not so sure about the first.
The above launch date is still unconfirmed, so take with a pinch of salt. Nevertheless, a September release date isn’t out of place. The Mi MIX 2 launched in September last year which means its successor is coming exactly a year later.
Not only that, if true, the Mi MIX 3 will be coming six months after the Mi MIX 2S which itself launched six months after the Mi MIX 2. Which prompts one to ask the question “Will Xiaomi refresh the series every six months?”
