Earlier this week, Lenovo Group VP Chang Cheng, the former CEO of ZUK Mobile had confirmed that the Lenovo S5 will be unveiled on March 20 in China. Today, he has claimed on Weibo that the performance of the Lenovo S5 will be better than the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
Earlier today, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun had released a new teaser for the forthcoming Redmi Note 5 on Weibo. The teaser revealed that the handset has a powerful configuration as it features Snapdragon 636 chipset and 6 GB of RAM. Through the Weibo post, Jun claimed that Note 5 that will deliver a comprehensive experience through its balanced configuration.

Soon after Jun confirmed on the chipset and RAM information for Note 5 on Weibo, Lenovo Group VP Chang Cheng quoted Jun’s Weibo post and expressed that the Lenovo S5 arriving on March 20 will deliver better performance than the Redmi Note 5.
Last year, Lenovo had shut down it ZUK Mobile sub-brand shortly after it took over Motorola to launch Moto branded phones. Since the Moto phones are not very famous in the home market, Lenovo is reportedly planning to re-enter the smartphone market with Lenovo branded phones. The upcoming Lenovo S5 that will be arriving on March 20 is expected to sport ZUI Android skin that was seen ZUK branded phones.

Shown above is a teaser image of the Lenovo S5. The red-colored S5 features a rear-mounted fingerprint reader and an LED enabled dual camera setup. The handset seems to be sporting a metal unibody design.

The rear view of the Lenovo K520 phone that was recently spotted at TENAA matches with the above image of Lenovo S5. It is speculated that the Lenovo K520 smartphone may launch as Lenovo S5. The Lenovo K520 includes a 5.65-inch display that supports FHD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The handset is fueled by an octa-core processor that clocks at 2 GHz.
The SoC is supported by 3 GB and 4 GB of RAM that respectively features 32 GB and 64 GB of internal storage. It will come loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo. It has a selfie camera of 8-megapixel and one of its dual camera sensors is also of 8-megapixel. The smartphone will be powered by 3,000mAh battery.
