Snapdragon 815 to be cooler than others – Test Reveals

Snapdragon 801 and Snapdragon 810 had a lot of issues like heating. It used to heat around 50ºC which is a little more than it should. The reason of this was not disclosed by Qualcomm. Now Qualcomm are doing several tests for the heating problem with Snapdragon 801, 810 and the new 815. It shows that it would heat much lesser. The results show that the Snapdragon 815 is cooler than Snapdragon 801 and 810 too which means its powerful and at the same time it is optimized to be cooler then its predecessors.

The test was done with Asphalt 8 airborne which is a graphic intensive game and it clearly shows that Snapdragon 815 is much cooler.

Snapdragon 815 Vs 810 Vs 801 Ax118De8982 copy

In the Results as we can see Snapdragon 815 reached a Max Temperature of 38 degrees which is quite low in respect to 42 degrees of Snapdragon 801 and 44 degrees of Snapdragon 810. Hence we can conclude that the new Architecture choice of Qualcomm is right and the devices based on Snapdragon 815  will be much cooler then the devices we are having now in the market with the Snapdragon 810 and 801.

These test’s were taken with a device with 3GB RAM and a 5″ HD display. Do let us know what you think about it in the comment section below.

Apple’s 12.9-inch iPad Pro case leaked, reveals four speakers!

Two week back, Apple unveiled the new 12-inch Macbook 2015 and up till now, it was everything that fans wanted to talk about. And just when things were slowing down a bit, we have a new leak about one of most anticipated Apple products in recent time, the 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro.

ipad pro case 3 Earlier today, leaksfly revealed three new pictures of a case which is said to be of the iPad Pro. The leak reveals interesting things about the rumored large screen Apple tablet.

ipad pro case

Before we start making conclusions, remember that this is just a 3D render of the iPad Pro case and not the actual case. So, it may not be true at all, or things may change a bit if Apple were to announce the iPad Pro later this year. That being said, the pictures show that the new iPad Pro could feature four speakers! We can see the openings for two speaker grills on both the sides, taking the total number of speakers on the device to four.

ipad pro case 2

If this turns out to be true, the new iPad Pro could be a great media device, especially for watching movies or listening to music. Apart from the four speakers, we can also see openings for the volume buttons, power button, and camera unit on this render.

While the large screen iPad Pro was expected to be released back in 2014, things got delayed to 2015. Now, it is said that Apple will release this tablet at WWDC 2015. According to earlier rumors, the iPad Pro is expected to come with a 12.9-inch 2K display, 7mm body and a 11000 mAh battery. Inside, it could feature the Apple’s A8X processor with 2GB of RAM, touch ID recognition and USB 3.0.

Since the large screen iPhone 6 Plus was a big success for the company, it won’t be surprising to see a 12.9-inch iPad Pro later this year. Stay tuned for more information.

LeTV to release Snapdragon 810 and MT6795 powered smartphones in April

In the past few weeks, we have come across a number of leaks and rumors about LeTV’s first lineup of smartphones. Earlier it was said that the company would release three different models in April this year, however, the latest reports indicate that the LeTV will restrict the number of models to two, but both will feature flagship worthy specs.

letv X600 1

The latest report about the company’s flagship devices come directly via mydrivers. Earlier today, the website reported most of the tech specs of the LeTV X900 and X600 models. We have already seen the X600 in full glory in a recent leak, but we haven’t received much information about the X900 top end model.
The LeTV X900 will be the higher end model which will feature the Snapdragon 810 processor with 4GB RAM on board. The display up front, (probably 5.5-inches) will sport a resolution of 2K. The rear camera too will be powerful, thanks to the 20.7MP sensor and up front, there will be a 4MP camera. The front camera unit could be the same ultrapixel sensor used by the Xiaomi Mi note model.

Coming to the second model, which we have already seen in a previous leak, the X600 will feature a Mediatek MT6795 64-bit octa-core processor. This is currently the best processor from Mediatek in the market. Along with this powerful SoC, the phone will have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There will be  a large 5.5-inch display up front with full HD 1080p resolution. At the back, there will be a traditional 13MP camera sensor and at the front, there will be an 8MP shooter.

Naturally, the LeTV X900 model will be priced much higher than the X600. While we still don’t know the official price tag, it is said that the X900 should retail for anything more than 2500 Yuan and the X600 between 1500 to 2000 Yuan.

Screenshot 2015-03-20 16.43.02

Just a day back, we saw the pictures of the bezel-less LeTV smartphone, which probably is the X900 model. To be honest, the phone looked extremely well built and attractive with its super slim bezels.

Since LeTV is expected to announce both the handsets in April, we just have to patiently wait for a few more weeks to get more info.

Xiaomi’s New Cheap Device Leaked by China Mobile’s Executive

Xiaomi has been known for releasing quite a lot budget devices and this time around it seems that we may see another cheap phone very soon. Just recently, the CEO of the company Lei Jun sad that the Xiaomi currently has no plans to release a 399 Yuan smartphone. That means that the new upcoming smartphone should cost at least a bit more than the latter price tag.

According to some previous rumours, the new cheap Xiaomi smartphone should have pretty basic specs, which include a 4.7-inch 720p screen and powered by a quad-core 1.6GHz processor. Also, it is said to have a 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage (most likely expandable). What is more, the smartphone should have 2 megapixel front camera and 8 megapixel rear shooter. All of this will be running on Android 4.4.4 system.

591a7d2bjw1eqddm6e2utj20xc18g7id

This time around, the rumours from Weibo say some different bits of the story. The mentioned chip inside the device is a Lead Core LCI LC1860C CPU, which is made under 28nm process and it has a four-core Cortex-A7 architecture. The graphics are handled by dual-core Mali T628 GPU. This combo of processing/graphics supports up to 720p resolution display, which is pretty low-end/entry level. What is more, the device is said to have a bumped up 13 mp camera, which is capable of 1080p @ 30fps video encoding / decoding. In addition, the Soc also integrates the baseband and supports TD-LTE / LTE FDD / TD-SCDMA / WCDMA / GSM / EDGE networks. The 4G LTE has the maximum support of LTE Cat.4 standard.

Screenshot 2015-03-21 14.29.41

All of this information is leaked by the one of the executives of China Mobile on Weibo social network as he says that this photo “has been kept in his album” for quite a while now. Considering the position of the guy who leaked the photo, it has a lot of legitimacy.

As far as design of the leaked device goes, it does not differ a lot from the Red Rice series of the devices by Xiaomi. The smartphone is made out of the plastic and spots a camera along with the single LED and the speaker on the top. The usual placement of the volume rocker and power on/off key on the right side is there as well.

Now the question leaves something to guess about the price of the upcoming device. Will it cost 499 or 599 Yuan? Or maybe CEO of Xiaomi was just teasing us that the company would not release a 399 Yuan device? It looks like that we will soon find it out.

Hands-on with Newman Smartphone with Innovative Fingerprint Scanner Design

The Chinese manufacturer Newman, which is most likely unheard to you, has some interesting news as it has quite interesting device in its portfolio. The company just announced that they will soon launch their new device to the masses. The most interesting thing is that the device has a very innovative design of finger print scanner and the whole device. Also, the Newman device has Alibaba’s YunOS 3.0 pre-installed.

16-150320233141

As you can see, the finger print scanner is located right below the camera sensor on the back. We have never seen this done before as the camera sensor is located at the left top corner of the device.

16-150320233140

The smartphone comes in two colour options – white and black.

16-150320233140-52

The device has a 5.5 inch Full-HD display with 5mp front and 13mp rear camera, which is accompanied by the dual tone dual LED flash. The front side looks a bit similar to the Xiaomi Mi4.

16-150320233138 16-150320233140-51

Another interesting feature, which seems to have made a comeback on this device from the early days of smartphones (or even feature phones) is the rotating wheel “flywheel” on the side of the phone. What it does is basically lets you scroll through the menus with your thumb without the need to touch the screen. It may sound a bit funny, why the manufacturer would put this outdated piece of hardware. However, Apple thinks the same way with their smartwach.

16-150320233139 16-150320233139-52

What is more, the finger print scanner is very high quality as it uses the same module as the Huawei Mate 7.

16-150320233139-50

We are not yet informed about the hardware specs of this device yet as this is non-final unit. Pricing and availability is not yet disclosed either. Anyway, we think that these two design aspects are innovative and should attract some of the consumers attention, when the device is released officially to the public.

The First Live Leak of OxygenOS on OnePlus One

Some time ago we reported that OnePlus was planning to unveil its own OS. In this regard, it was even said that the company hired the whole IUNI OS team in December.

The company unveiled the name of the new ROM recently and it will be called as the OnePlus OxygenOS. While we are eagerly waiting to see what the company has in store for us on March 27th as the ROM is said to be ready to be flashed into devices, we have received a new leak which shows some of the design elements of the new OxygenOS on the OnePlus One running in real life scenario.

imgo

From the pictures, it looks like the company will focus on a flat UI design and has integrated the Android Lolipop design language very well. The icons are rounded in shape and spot different colours in this Oxygen App UI. Also, the thermometer seems to spot a nice flat and simple design, which kind of depict a classic thermometer.

All in all, the official release of the Oxygen OS is approaching fast. This picture proves that it may be a near final version. We will keep you posted on any news when the ROM is officially released. Stay tuned.

Bezeless “Super” Smartphone LeTV X900 by LeTV Leaks

It has become quite popular nowadays to produce the smartphones with thin bezels. Year after year, companies try to reduce both side, up and down bezels as much as possible. It may not be practical at all since the screen becomes prone to damage if the device is dropped. Also, it is not practical as you can just simply cover part of the screen and leave your fingerprint there. Still, devices like Meizu MX4, which has really thin bezels set the standard for what seems to be really trendy today despite the lack of practicality. This is all for the sake of good looks and probably for the sake of bragging. Both, for the companies, which produce these devices and for the end users.

Screenshot 2015-03-20 16.43.02

We have wrote about the Subor S3 that it went on sale today in China, but it seems that bezel less smartphones trend just keeps on going. As you can see in the picture above, the LeTV has a “super phone”, which will allegedly have non-existent bezels and great specs. The device is said to be real eased at the end of April this year.

Screenshot 2015-03-20 16.43.27

It is reported that this model will use 5.5 inches 1080P screen, equipped with eight-core 2.2GHz processor, 2GB of RAM  16GB of storage capacity (not clear if it is expandable or no), 5mp/13mp camera combo, dual SIM card slots (dual standby).

43ab8d1cjw1eq8k71zrdkj21wg1200xi

What is more, the device is said to have the USB Type C standard connection port, which was just widely marketed by Apple in their new MacBook.

We all hope that this is a real device and we would be able to provide you with some more news in the near future. In our opinion, the device looks sick. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below this article.

World’s First Bezeless Subor S3 Smartphone Goes on Sale for 1399 Yuan

It has become quite popular nowadays to produce the smartphones with thin bezels. Year after year, companies try to reduce both side, up and down bezels as much as possible. It may not be practical at all since the screen becomes prone to damage if the device is dropped. Also, it is not practical as you can just simply cover part of the screen and leave your fingerprint there. Still, devices like Meizu MX4, which has really thin bezels set the standard for what seems to be really trendy today despite the lack of practicality. But what about the bezeless device? Meet the Subor S3, the world’s first smartphone, which has no side bezels. The company officially describes it as “The worlds first dual-4G smartphone without bezels”.

Screenshot 2015-03-20 15.21.13

The S3 is equipped with a 5inch 720p screen, it has the body size of 141.5 × 70.3 × 7.8 mm. Moreover, the Subor S3’s body is covered by the dual Gorilla Glass 3’s (one on the front and another on the back). Also, the device will be available in Black and White colour options. Finally, it is priced at 1399 Yuan and it is now on sale in China. International availability is unknown, but it should be available via international resellers pretty soon.

YunOS powered Newman Button Phone will feature a mysterious rear button

Newman has been in the market for the past few years, however lately we haven’t heard anything new from the company. In fact, the company’s last post on its official Weibo page dates back to July 2014.

yunos concept phone

Earlier today, surprisingly, Newman forwarded a post from YunOS’s weibo page. The post was about a new concept YunOS device. The image had a unique rear button just below the camera, however the post failed to explain the use of the button.

newman button phone yunos

A few hours later, Newman posted a image on its Weibo page which finally revealed a new device from the company. It seems that the concept machine revealed by YunOS was in fact the new Newman Button phone which will run on YunOS.

This is not the first time we are seeing at a YunOS powered Newman device. Last year, we had seen many manufacturers adopt YunOS for their phones, including Newman. So, this particular announcement doesn’t come as a big surprise.

We still don’t know what the mysterious button below the camera does, but it could be something related to the camera feature. Or it may even be used to control sound or even for fingerprint recognition. Unfortunately, we can only speculate the features on the Newman button phone right now. But expect more information when Newman announces more details about the phone on April 8.

The package contains the the white colored invitation along with a number of other camera accessories. First you have the tripod as well as a metal frame for mounting (the smartphone?). Next up, there are three different camera lenses in the box, one fisheye, macro and 10x telephoto lens.

The invite clearly hints that the new ZTE Nubia Z9 will be a camera centric phone which may even accept accessories. We have already seen a glimpse of the capability of its rear shooter, thanks to a gif image posted by a famous actor in China. But it seems, we will have a lot more to talk about once the phone is officially announced in China on March 26.

So what do you think about this heavy invitation? Impressed?

1799 Yuan ($289) Xiaomi Mi4 2GB edition spotted!

Xiaomi has been aggressively expanding its product portfolio in the past few months. We have already seen a new lineup, namely the top end Xiaomi Mi Note and now, it looks like the company may have another version of last year’s flagship.

The Xiaomi Mi4 2GB edition was recently spotted on the Chinese certification website TENAA. Interestingly, the phone is said to feature just 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. On the other hand, the regular Xiaomi Mi4 version came with 3GB RAM and 16/64GB internal storage options.

The TENAA entry shows that there are three different version of this device made for three different carries in China namely, China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom and all the models support 4G LTE networks. We expect rest of the specs to be similar to the regular model.

Xiaomi did the same with this year’s Redmi model, by offering a 2GB variant at a slightly higher price tag. Looks like its going to do the same with Xiaomi Mi4 too.

Ofcourse, the major motive of reducing the specs is to bring down the cost and it is said that the Xiaomi Mi4 2GB edition will cost just about 1799 Yuan which comes to $289.

A top end model, namely the Xiaomi Mi Note Plus was recently spotted on AnTuTu and this particular Mi4 edition may be announced alongside the Mi Note Plus in the coming few weeks.

The Gionee Elife S7 is made out of aviation grade aluminium magnesium alloy with full metal skeleton design. It is not the company’s slimmest phone but nonetheless it is ultra slim at 5.5 mm. Both the front and the back of the phone is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. This creates a combination of hardness and softness which would provide maximum protection. It is  available in Black, White and Blue colour variants and has been priced at 399 Euros (US $448 / INR Rs 27,700 approximately) and should be priced around Rs 25,000-28,000 in India. Lets have a look at the specifications of the Gionee Elife S7 in India.

The Gionee Elife in India S7 features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which cannot be expanded. The device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with the company’s Amigo OS 3.0 on top of it.

The Gionee Elife S7 comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Sony IMX214 sensor. Gionee claims that its image processing system ‘Image+’ will enable users to shoot stunningly high quality images with easy user experience. The camera can capture six images in one second and compose them to one image by adjusting brightness and image noise. All this is possible due to the night mode engine of Image+. It can capture a picture within 500 milliseconds and can focus on the subject in 300 milliseconds.

The flagship device has a 8 megapixel front-facing camera which comes with intelligent Face beauty 3.0 technology. It would estimate users’ gender and age and then recommend the best over the face beauty effects for more natural selfies. The smartphone is 5.5 mm thick and weighs 126 grams. It supports Dual SIM as well.

Check out the amazing aurora shot using the ZTE Nubia Z9 camera

ZTE is known to equip great cameras on its Nubia range of smartphones. The year old ZTE Nubia Z7 flagship features a 13MP rear camera with OIS and dual tone dual LED flash. The unit is capable of even recording 2K videos at 30 fps.

Naturally, the next generation model, i.e. the ZTE Nubia Z9 camera will be upgraded, probably with a 16MP or even 20MP unit. And earlier today, a famous actor from China, Lin Gengxin posted on Weibo a gif which was reportedly taken from ZTE Nubia Z9.

zte nubia z9 camera

Two days back, a severe solar storm hit the Earth which led to massive sightings of aurora in a number of different countries. It looks like Lin managed to spot one of these beautiful occurrences and took series of images of the aurora and converted it into a gif image. You can clearly see the greenish light in the blue sky. And the Z9’s camera managed to capture pretty sharp images.

Famous actors and celebrities are known to get premium flagship smartphones even before launch and it looks like Lin Gengxin was one of the first ones to use the device. It will be interesting to see the true capability of ZTE Nubia Z9 camera.

OnePlus One spotted running Windows?

Now that OnePlus has released its own OS for its OnePlus One smartphone, users can choose between the company’s own OxygenOS and CyanogenMod for flashing on their phones. However, looks like those two aren’t the only big options for the device, as a recent leak showed off OnePlus One running Windows OS.

oneplus one windows

This is the second such device that we have spotted running the new Windows platform. A ZTE device was recently leaked online running Windows. It looks like Microsoft could be looking to expand its user base by allowing Android devices to install its OS as a third party ROM. Two days back, the company had casually hinted about making custom Windows ROM installation a possibility, so it doesn’t come as a surprise.
So, instead of directly competing with Android, Microsoft could be looking to use the platform to expand its own apps and services. The company has already announced that a set of Xiaomi Mi4 power users will be given the option to install Windows ROM on their devices. Using feedback from them, the company could improve its ROM for a much wider audience.

However, remember that its not easy to generate interest among customers for a new ROM. Alibaba just recently announced that its Yun OS development was suspended for now, due to lack of consumer interest. So, it would be interesting to see if Microsoft manages to attract customers if it releases Windows as a third party ROM.

OnePlus One, Xiaomi Mi4 and other Chinese smartphones would be a good start to test out its ROM before Microsoft makes it public.

So do you think releasing Windows as a ROM for Android devices is a good idea?

5.5mm Gionee Elife S7 launched in Macau, coming to India in April

Gionee Elife S7 was already available for pre-order in China. Now, the device has hit Macau and will soon be available in India from next month.

gionee elife s7 macau

At the time of the announcement of the device at MWC 2015, Gionee had said that it would release the phone on March 18 in Macau. As promised, the company unveiled the device in the region recently with an official press conference. Much like in China, the Gionee Elife S7 will be available in Macau for 2499 Yuan, which is a great price considering its specs.

gionee elife s7 macau 2

The new Gionee device is power packed with practical features. The phone features a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with ACL tech, reducing power usage by 25%. Next up, the device will be powered by Mediatek’s MT6752 octa-core 64-bit processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The company claims that the phone has the thinnest 13MP camera unit which doesn’t protrude even with its super slim 5.5mm design profile. A number of cooling areas also make sure that the phone runs cooler than competition. As for software it runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop version. Finally, at the back, you have a 2750 mAh battery which should be enough for a day’s usage especially with the number of power saving features built into the device.

After the launch in Macau, the Gionee Elife S7 will be announced at a special press conference in India next month. The company is yet to reveal the pricing of the device in the country.

Report: Cortex A72 powered MT679X will debut in Q4 2015

Mediatek has been stepping up its game this year with its new MT67XX lineup based on the 64-bit architecture. Back when ARM announced its new Cortex-A72 core, it said that Mediatek will be one of the first chipmakers to utilize this new Cortex core. Today, we have some more details about the upcoming Mediatek chipset based on the Cortex-A72 core.

Cortex A72 MT679X

According to a leaked information, the new Mediatek MT679X chip will use the Cortex-A72 core along with the power efficient Cortex-A53. The chip will be built using the big.LITTLE architecture which saves battery life without sacrificing on power.

It is said that the new chip will leave the 28nm manufacturing process in favor of a better and power efficient process like the 20nm process or even the 16nm FinFet. However, the source doesn’t reveal which one of the two will be used by this new Mediatek chip. If Cortex A72 is built on the 16nm process, then it will be 3.5X faster than Cortex A15 on a 28nm process and 1.9x faster than Cortex A57 using 20nm process.

It is also said that Mediatek will partner up with AMD for its mobile GPU. Up till now, the chip maker used ARM’s Mali GPUs inside its processors.

It looks like the new MT679X processor will turn to be quite powerful yet efficient. The chip is expected to debut by the end of the year, i.e. Q4 2015. So, we can expect smartphones to feature this chip by next year.

Selfie focused Little Pepper 7 to sport a massive 20MP Front Selfie Camera

Beidou is behind the famous Little Pepper smartphone range which has managed to impress a lot of international users. This is because, it was one of the first companies to release the world’s cheapest dual-core and quad-core smartphones. A few months back, we saw the Little Pepper 6 with a great 20MP sensor and five lens unit at the back. However, now, the company is all set to announce the Beidou Little Pepper 7, with a massive front facing camera.

little pepper 7

Latest reports says that the Little Pepper 7 will feature a 20MP sensor at the front instead of the back. This will be one of the largest front facing sensors in a smartphone camera. While smartphone manufacturers have started to improve the front facing shooters in recent releases, especially since many users are obsessed with selfies, they are usually of 13MP or lower. However, fitting a 20MP sensor up front should really deliver the best possible selfies from a smartphone cam. Of course, a larger megapixel count doesn’t always mean better pictures, but it should definitely be better than most other front cameras in the market.

Naturally, with such a large sensor up front, expect some special software features to aid the user in taking the best selfie. It is said that the Little Pepper 7 will also come with camera features such as an improved self-time, multi-speed and real time beauty enhancements and other settings.

Given that the USP of the device is its large front facing sensor, it looks like the company is targeting the female crowd with this particular device. The phone is also said to sport a beautiful double glass and metal design. The back will be adorned by a diamond 3D texture, further enhancing its looks.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any information about the specs of the device, but considering its earlier generation models, expect them to be mid-range.

ZTE Nubia Z9 Plus spotted alongside Z9

Its a new day, which means its time for another set of ZTE Nubia smartphone pictures. We have been consistently getting new leaks everyday since the past few days about the upcoming ZTE devices. While most of the leaked pictures of the Z9 show that the design language is in line with the Z9 Max, a couple of leaks show a totally different design. Today, there’s another leak which shows a metal body on one of the upcoming ZTE Z9 smartphone much like the one we saw a couple days back.

zte nubia z9 mini

This particular image shows off a new metal body in a premium finish. It could be the rumored ZTE Nubia Z9 Plus which is expected to be announced at the event on March 26. Or it could be a totally new device (Z9 Mini?), but we aren’t sure of anything at the moment.

zte nubia z9 mini 2

We can see the Nubia logo in the middle as well as the protruding camera on top. The size seems to be around 5-inches which is why we feel this could be the Z9 Mini but rumors say its the Z9 Plus. So, its best not to speculate the model name at the moment. Still, the design looks quite good, thanks to the metal back.

We still have no idea about the specs of this device, but hopefully, we will get more information at the event next week. Till then, all we can do is relish these beautiful images leaked.

So what do you think about this design? Do you prefer the leaked glass + metal design or the all metal design like this one?

It seems that the leaks about the upcoming ZTE Nubia Z9 won’t stop until the company officially announces it on March 26. Almost every day we are receiving images of the Z9 and today, leaksfly revealed some more alleged images of the device.

Interestingly, they are in line with what we saw a few days back. So it looks like the Mate 7 like device leaked yesterday is probably a different phone. This particular model seems to be using the dual glass + metal design as the Z9 Max. The metal frame in gold color particular looks very beautiful making the device all the more appealing.

Apart from the back, we also got to see the internals of the Z9. An image showed of the internal chassis and we can see the space for the round camera sensor too. Finally, the third image shows off the dual SIM card slots as well as MicroSD slots on the left side of the phone. Overall, it looks like the phone will turn out to be a well designed device.
