Karbonn Mobiles Independence Day offer-octa core smartphone offered at 11,900

In celebration of independence day, Karbonn Mobiles has announced special offer for its newest smartphones- the Titanium Octane and Titanium Octane Plus. The offer will be available through Snapdeal. The smartphones will be available at Snapdeal at discounted price from August 15 to when the stocks finish. The reduction in price is Rs. 2,500 for Titanium Octane and for the Titanium Octane Plus is Rs. 4,000. With the reduced price the Titanium Octane will be available at Rs. 11,900 compared to its original price of 14,490. The Titanium Octane’s original price was 17,990 and with discounted price it will be available at Rs. 13,990. However, Karbonn has not told how many units will be available for the offer and the exact schedule. Both the phones offer 2 SIM support and run Android 4.4 KitKat.

Shashin Devsare, Executive Director of Karbonn Mobiles told that the company is very excited to present handsets on Snapdeal. Snapdeal is very popular in the users for its quality service. Through this partnership the company will expand the customer base and present optimum phone experience to the people in the country.

The Karbonn Mobiles offered phone the Titanium Octane offer a 5-inch HD IPS display. It runs on 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor. It offers 1GB RAM. The handsets has two cameras- the front 5MP camera and the rear 13MP shooter. The phone is powered by 2000mAh battery. The built-in storage is 16GB which could be extended to 32GB through SD card.

The Karbonn Titanium Octane Plus offers 5-inch full HD IPS display (1080×1920 pixel). The processor is from MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor. It has 2GB of RAM. The handset sports 2 cameras- the front 8MP shooter and the rear 16MP camera. The power is powered by 2000mAh. The built-in memory is 16GB which could be extended upto 32GB.

Although a lot of companies use the Antutu benchmark test, many in the industry have doubts about the way it tests the companies’ devices, and they have good reason to. It turns out that one of the legal representatives and executive directors of Antutu is the CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun. Before starting Xiaomi, Lei Jun was a high-profile investor in China and invested in many companies like the video review team, Zealer. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kingsoft which, last year, invested money in Antutu.

There is nothing unusual about this but according to Antutu’s entry in http://qyxy.baic.gov.cn/, not only does Lei Jun serve as a legal representative of Antutu but also as an executive director. Is it surprising that Xiaomi’s phones always seem to get very high scores in Antutu’s benchmark test?

The problem with ZTE is that it does not know how to market their products while Coolpad only makes low-end products and Lenovo is full of itself. India- Xiaomi Mi3 sale, the first smartphone by the manufacturer, seems to be few in numbers as the statistics suggest, in a month, but its impact could be felt.

Xiaomi has become centre of interest for everyone in India, although not all can pronounce the name properly. But the fact is that smartphone has made an impact on the Indian market. Few days ago, Motorola announced to cut INR 2,000 or US$ 32 on its Android phone, the Moto G. Even the cut is applicable to limited numbers of sets but it is the first decrease since its launch few months ago. Motorola was bought by Lenovo from Google. Motorola recently announced that it has sold around one million handsets in India through Flipkart, the Motorola’s online retail partner. Seeing the huge smartphone market of India the numbers seems to be small but selling one million sets in less than year is an important figure. The Motorola in India has to offer only 3 phones but despite this it has become fourth largest manufacturer in India.

The reduction in price by Motorola shows that even giant like Motorola is threatened by the entry of new Chinese Company Xiaomi. Although Moto G and Xiaomi Mi3 are available in INR 10,000-14,000 or US$160-230, this range seems to be attractive for budget smartphone users. In Indian market, the number of features of mobile phones seem to hold more importance than abstract qualities e.g., build quality, software etc. The Moto G bank on these abstract qualities, thus giving feature rich Xiamoi Mi3. Not only Motorola is affected by the competition, the market leader like Samsung is also feeling the impulse. Samsung recently launched three versions of budget phones which are under price range of INR 8,000 or US$ 130. The specifications of these budget phones may not hamper the budget phones of Motorola and Xiaomi Mi3 in terms of specification but it clearly shows that Samsung would not give the share of budget phone market that easily. In addition, the pricing strategy of Xiaomi may force other market players to readjust the prices of mid-range and high-end phones, also.

The fastly growing Chinese Company Xiaomi will make the cloud messaging service an opt-in service instead of automatic one. This step was taken after concerns were raised about security and privacy. The MIUI Cloud Messaging is similar to the Apple iMessage service. The service takes the messaging data through internet which makes it free. The data travels to the MIUI servers. It was revealed that the user data is shared with the servers in China. The user data that is shared with the servers include the phone contacts, phone numbers, IMEI numbers and SMS messages. The sharing of this critical data raised concerns about the privacy and security of user data. The situation worsened as the users don’t have opt-out option. The situation seems to change after these developments.

Recently, the Global Vice President of Xiaomi, Hugo Barra addressed to the rumors and conspiracies about data sharing. Xiaomi has given option to the users to opt out the service. Hugo Barra said the MIUI Cloud Messaging service doesn’t store any information about customers’ phone or social graph. He added that the data is encrypted and it is kept only for the time the message is delivered to the receiver. Facebook Status of Barra stated that it is the company’s foremost priority to keep the user data safe and secure. The company doesn’t store private information without users permission.

Before this, the MIUI Cloud Messaging service was activated automatically for all Xiomi users, the moment they would insert the SIM in their Xiaomi phones. After the privacy concerns the service has been made optional to protect the user data. The update will be implemented from today. The update will incorporate the security layer that will encrypt the phone numbers when they will be transferred to the Cloud Messaging servers.

Recently, Lenovo has introduced many 4G smartphones such as the A320T, A360T, and A380T. Out of the three of them, the Lenovo A380T is the most powerful and was featured in China Mobile’s website for the first time a few days ago. It only costs 699 RMB (113.48 USD).

This phone uses the MTK6582M quad-core chipset (1.3GHz) and is also a China Mobile phone. 20,000 Xiaomi Mi3 handsets sold out within few seconds as the fourth Flipkart sale began

It happened again, millions of Mi 3 fans who were waiting for the sale were disappointed as the 20,000 phones vanished in few seconds. Flipkart, the online selling site, did this for the fourth time. Flipkart’s sale of Xiaomi new handsets Mi 3 started at 2 PM and ended in seconds. Thousands of people registered for the sale.

Flipkart is being criticized since the Chinese smartphone Xiaomi Mi3 was launched in India. A video shows the last moments of the sale on 12th August at 2 PM. The buy now button was not even seemed. A video shows that there was the difference in the sale countdown timer on users’ browsers and Flipkart website. The user’s browser time is not synced with the Flipkart server. The people who clicked on ‘Buy’ button got message “Out of stock” as the countdown timer ended.

Some said the sale of was a scam. The fact is, that Flipkart is receiving the handsets in small batches which are put on sale every time. Flipkart has got 55,000 handsets which were sold in four sales. There are over 3 lac Mi 3 buyers registered on Flipkart. The 20,000 handsets’ batch disappeared with in few seconds as the sale began.

Flipkart and Xiaomi are expected to get bashing from more than 80,000 customers who waited for the sale of Xiaomi Mi 3 handsets, today. As the 20,000 handsets just disappeared within few seconds there would be unsatisfied customers bashing Flipkart and Xiaomi, again.

It has not been too long since Vimoo released the V6 but that has not stopped them from preparing their next release. Recently, they revealed the Vimoo Z5 which looks better than the V6.

The Vimoo Z5 certainly has a better-looking design than the V6. As the photos below show, the front side looks the same as any other cellphone’s but its round “Home” button is definitely more eye-catching. The rear case is covered by hard glass, basically following a double-glass design. Readers can also see that there is a SIM card slot in the middle frame. The rear case is not detachable. It is a pretty slim phone, measuring only 7.5mm.

Like V6, the Vimoo Z5 is also a 4G phone. Its processor is the MTK MT6582 quad-core chipset while its baseband chip is the MT6290. It might use China Mobile (TD-LTE/TD-SCDMA-supported). It sports a 5.5-inch IPS screen with HD resolution and has a 5mp/8mp Sony dual-camera. Its operating system is the Android 4.4.

The Vimoo Z5 is slated to come out in September and will probably be more expensive than the V6 which is 1299 RMB (210.95 USD).
