3 Ways the Honor GT Pro Beats the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

When thinking about a premium Android smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is one of the first devices that comes to mind. So while it is an obvious cutting edge flagship smartphone, the new Honor GT Pro is a great new contender from China, and it’s not just about the price. There are a few standout areas where the Honor GT Pro outclasses the Galaxy S25 Ultra. So read on to find out.

1. Battery and Charging Speed

Honor GT Pro launch date-
Honor GT Pro

While Chinese brands have been pushing the boundaries in battery and charging technology, Samsung offers a more standard offering on its top end Galaxy S25 Ultra. This model houses a sizeable 5,000mAh battery pack, which supports 45W wired fast charging, 15W wireless fast charging, and even reverse wireless charging as well.

Thanks to silicone carbon batteries, Chinese manufacturers have managed to bump the capacity of the battery cells without making the batteries bigger in size. Honor is no exception, with the Honor GT Pro packing a monstrous 7,200mAh battery pack. It also supports 90W wired fast charging, which is twice as fast as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Unfortunately, you do miss out on the wireless charging.

2. Cameras

Galaxy S25 Ultra
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

This isn’t an in-depth comparison or a review but a basic overview of their specs. In the camera department, Samsung offers a solid and versatile camera system that includes a 200MP (Main) + 50MP (Ultrawide) + 10MP (Telephoto) + 50MP (Periscope Telephoto). For selfies and video calls, there is a 12MP shooter on the front. The main camera is a few generations old but still holds strong on Samsung flagships, while the 50MP ultra wide is an upgrade. You also get up to 5x optical zoom via the telephoto shooters.

On the other hand, you only get a triple camera setup on the Honor GT Pro. This includes a 50MP main, 50MP ultrawide, and 200MP telephoto shooter (with 3x optical zoom). While the main telephoto shooter can’t offer a better optical zoom, the 200MP sensor allows for better hybrid magnification with digital zoom. The selfie camera also has a 50MP shooter, which can have an advantage over the ageing selfie camera on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

3. The Value

Honor GT Pro battery-

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S25 Ultra with a starting price tag of over $1,299 at launch. While you can find it for a more affordable price now, the Honor GT Pro’s starting price is over $700 cheaper. You can buy two GT Pros and some peripherals for the price of one S25 Ultra. The Honor GT Pro was announced for 3,699 Yuan in China or around $505.

For this price, you’re getting an IP68 + IP69 rated device, 144Hz OLED display, 6000 nits of peak brightness, Snapdragon 8 Elite, UFS 4.1 storage, an IR blaster, and much more. All of this makes it a great budget smartphone that offers better value for many.

Sennheiser HD 505 launches in India with signature tuning and sleek Copper finish

Sennheiser has officially brought the HD 505 to India, expanding its portfolio of wired over-ear headphones with a model aimed squarely at audiophiles and gamers chasing a clean, open sound. Previously launched in China and other global markets, the HD 505 is now available in its Copper Edition variant at Rs. 27,990.

Sennheiser HD 505 Specifications

The HD 505 is rooted in Sennheiser’s long-running HD 500 series but arrives with updated internals and a refreshed design. It sticks to an open-back structure, favored by purists for its more natural, speaker-like sound, and uses custom-built 120-ohm transducers, designed and tuned in Tullamore, Ireland. The result: a detailed frequency response stretching from 12Hz to 38.5kHz, with a refined damping ring behind the driver to smoothen treble response and tighten up low-end resonance.

Sennheiser HD 505

Soundstage is a focus here. The angled transducers aim to recreate the feel of nearfield monitors, pushing spatial audio forward whether you’re deep in a playlist or navigating an FPS lobby. At 237 grams, the HD 505 keeps things light enough for marathon sessions, helped by a padded synthetic leather headband and metal mesh-covered earcups that strike a balance between comfort and durability.

There’s also modularity baked in. The 1.8-meter detachable cable ends in a 3.5mm plug, and a 6.3mm adapter is included in the box, making it just as ready for pro studio gear as your daily driver. And if the cable or ear pads wear out, you can swap them out without much fuss.

Sennheiser-HD-505-headphones

Sennheiser says the HD 505 keeps harmonic distortion under 0.2% even at high volumes, and with a peak SPL of 107.9 dB, it promises to stay clean and detailed across genres. It’s available now through Sennheiser’s website and Amazon India.

In related news, Realme recently introduced the Buds Air 7 Pro, featuring 53dB noise cancellation, real-time AI translation, and up to 48 hours of battery life. Meanwhile, Edifier’s new Lolli Pro 3i are among the first earbuds to support Bluetooth 6.0, and they’re priced at just $41.

Google Pixel 9a DxOMark Camera & Display Reviews Are Finally Here!

Google‘s latest Pixel 9a has just passed through DxOMark, and its official review is finally out. Like the rest of the Pixel 9 series, it has managed to achieve a decent score in both the camera and display department. So let’s check it out.

Google Pixel 9a DxOMark Review

In the camera testing, the Search engine giant’s Pixel 9a achieved a score of 153 points. This allowed it to achieve a global smartphone ranking of 33, although it managed to take the 1st position in the high-end segment, which includes upper mid range smartphones. DxOMark’s test revealed that the Pixel 9a managed to offer many of the premium features that was seen on the more expensive Pixel 9 model.

Google Pixel 9a
Google Pixel 9a

The camera had a good dynamic range, accurate exposure, and great colors. However, zoomed shots suffered due to the lack of a dedicated telephoto shooter. The Pixel 9a struggled in low light situations for photos and videos. DxOMark also tested the device’s display and gave it a score of 155 points. Once again, it is the highest score for its segment. Interestingly, the Pixel 9a even broke the top 10 in the global ranking, taking the 8th position.

The review notes that the display is great for a wide range of use, like typical web browsing and video playback. Google’s Pixel 9a features a vibrant and detailed screen that is fast and accurate in terms of touch input. This model just went on sale in India earlier this month with a starting price tag of 49,999 INR, while its global price tag starts from 499 US Dollars.

G-SHOCK GA-V01 Watches Debut in the US with New Shock-Release Hand Mechanism

Casio America has launched the GA-V01, a new G-SHOCK watch that blends durability with innovation while staying true to the brand’s origins. The design is based on founder Kikuo Ibe’s original rubber ball prototype, which first introduced the idea of shock resistance that defines G-SHOCK today.

G-SHOCK GA-V01
G-SHOCK GA-V01

As per Casio, the GA-V01’s story has three parts. First, the rubber ball leaves the lab, showing G-SHOCK’s beginning. Second, it’s changed by the idea of toughness. Third, it becomes something new with creativity and purpose. The colors: metallic silver, neon yellow, purple, and matte black—each stands for one of these parts.

The watch has a fused bezel and band that form a single unit, giving it a solid build. It uses curved, shock-absorbing glass, large bumper-style indexes, and angled side buttons. These features make it more durable and give it a bold look.

In a first for G-SHOCK, the GA-V01 uses a magnetic holding structure for the hands. Instead of being fixed to a shaft, the minute hand is held in place by magnetic force. This setup, known as the Shock Release Hand, helps absorb and release impact more effectively, and also allows for larger, more prominent hands.

The watch has a hybrid analog-digital display. It includes a metallic skeleton dial, full-screen LCD, oversized hands, and an extra indicator hand, all designed to create a layered, technical look.

It is shock-resistant and water-resistant up to 200 meters. Features include world time for 48 cities, a stopwatch, a countdown timer, five daily alarms, a hand shift function, and dual LED lighting. The battery lasts up to ten years.

Pricing & availability

The GA-V01 is priced at $140 and is available on gshock.com, at the G-SHOCK Soho store, and select retail outlets.

When will Samsung release One UI 8 (Android 16)?

Samsung doesn’t want to delay the One UI 8 release like it did with One UI 7. That’s why the brand has reportedly decided to skip incremental updates like One UI 7.1 and 7.1.1 and directly release One UI 8 instead.

This will be a good move that will restore the brand’s reputation of providing long-term and timely updates that it has earned over the years. Samsung hasn’t announced the One UI 8 release date. However, according to a report, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 would run One UI 8 out of the box. These devices are expected to launch around July or early August 2025.

Google has already confirmed that Android 16 will be released in the second quarter, which means by June 2025. Some reports say it could arrive early in May. Either way, Android 16 is coming earlier than the OS release in the last few years, leaving less preparation time for Samsung and other Android brands. The One UI 8 beta program is expected to go live around July 2025. Take it with a pinch of salt, though, as things haven’t been promising with Samsung recently.

Its sibling, the standard Z10 Turbo, is expected to run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 8400 chipset. Both models share a bold aesthetic, seen in teaser images showcasing sleek finishes in Orange, White, Gold, and Black. The dual rear camera setup is complemented by a distinctive ring-shaped LED flash, giving the phones a refined and slightly aggressive look.

Battery life should impress too, the Z10 Turbo houses a massive 7620mAh carbon-silicon battery with 90W fast charging, while the Pro model opts for a 7000mAh unit with blazing-fast 120W charging, capable of a full charge in just 33 minutes. Vivo X200 Ultra vs Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Performance, Cameras, and Value Compared

With the Vivo X200 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 Ultra pushing the boundaries of flagship innovation, this comparison is essential for anyone deciding between two of 2025’s most advanced Android phones. Each device aims to set new standards, from top-tier cameras and ultra-bright displays to cutting-edge chipsets and satellite connectivity. But with stark differences in pricing, features, and priorities, understanding which phone truly delivers the best experience for your needs becomes more important than ever.

1. Design and Display

Vivo X200 Ultra
Vivo X200 Ultra

Build and Feel:

Both phones deliver a premium feel, but the vivo X200 Ultra emphasizes refinement with its symmetrical glass and aluminum design. The IP69 rating gives it an edge for extreme durability, making it more suitable for rugged use. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra also has a premium look, especially with its eco-leather options and aerospace-grade materials. However, its IP68 rating is a slight step down in protection. The vivo feels slightly more durable and elegant, especially for users prioritizing sleekness and rugged resistance.

Display Quality:

Vivo X200 Ultra edges ahead with its larger 6.82-inch AMOLED display, higher peak brightness at 4500 nits, and dense 510ppi resolution. It supports Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid, and 1 billion colors. Xiaomi’s 6.73-inch screen is also vivid with 68 billion colors and slightly higher pixel density, but the Vivo offers more brightness and a larger screen area. For media consumption or outdoor usage, the Vivo’s display offers superior clarity and luminance.

Verdict:
While both devices feel high-end, the vivo X200 Ultra stands out with a tougher build and brighter, larger display. Its IP69 rating and excellent screen quality give it an advantage for users looking for visual immersion and rugged resilience.

2. Specifications

Xiaomi 15 Ultra

Performance:

Both phones run on the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chip with identical CPU and GPU setups, ensuring identical raw performance. This ensures equally smooth multitasking, gaming, and AI processing. vivo pairs this power with OriginOS 5, while Xiaomi enhances it with HyperOS 2 and promises 4 major Android updates. The software edge slightly leans toward Xiaomi, thanks to its longer-term software commitment, which will appeal more to users prioritizing longevity and updates.

Battery and Charging:

Vivo X200 Ultra is equipped with a larger 6000mAh battery across all models, compared to Xiaomi’s 5410mAh in global versions and 6000mAh only in China. Both support 90W wired charging, but Xiaomi pulls ahead with 80W wireless vs Vivo’s 40W. For users valuing fast wireless charging, Xiaomi is more convenient, especially for those using wireless docks. However, the vivo offers longer endurance due to consistently higher battery capacity across models.

Verdict:
Vivo delivers better raw endurance thanks to its bigger battery and is ideal for power users needing more screen time. Xiaomi, on the other hand, offers faster wireless charging and better software longevity, which suits tech-savvy users valuing future-proofing and convenience.

3. Camera

Vivo X200 Ultra
Vivo X200 Ultra

Main and Secondary Lenses:

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a more versatile quad-camera setup, including a large 1.0-inch sensor for the main lens and two telephoto options (3x and 4.3x optical zoom), plus a depth sensor. Its camera system, enhanced by Leica lenses and a 67mm filter ring holder, targets photography enthusiasts. The vivo X200 Ultra counters with a powerful 200MP periscope lens with macro support, gimbal OIS, and Zeiss optics. Despite having fewer lenses, the gimbal stabilization and image tuning make it ideal for smooth videography. Xiaomi has the edge in photographic range and manual control, while vivo offers smoother stabilized video.

Selfie Camera:

vivo boasts a 50MP selfie shooter with autofocus and 4K@60fps video recording. Xiaomi’s 32MP sensor lacks autofocus but supports similar video resolutions. The extra megapixels and autofocus on the vivo result in sharper selfies and more professional-looking video output, which favors users in content creation or video calls.

Verdict:
Xiaomi leads in rear camera versatility and creative control, making it preferable for dedicated mobile photographers. However, Vivo’s video stabilization and high-resolution selfie cam offer better results for vloggers or social-focused users.

4. Pricing

Xiaomi 15 Ultra

The vivo X200 Ultra is priced at around €750, while the Xiaomi 15 Ultra starts at about £1,029, reflecting a notable price gap. Considering the similarities in processor, display resolution, and even camera capabilities, vivo provides much more value for money.

Verdict:
Xiaomi commands a premium due to its Leica branding, quad-camera versatility, and additional wireless charging features. However, users looking for high-end features without stretching their budget will find the vivo X200 Ultra significantly more economical without sacrificing performance.

5. Conclusion

Vivo X200 Ultra
Vivo X200 Ultra

Xiaomi 15 Ultra introduces dual telephoto lenses, manual photography tools like a 67mm filter holder, and two-way satellite communication, making it ideal for professionals. Its 80W wireless charging and 4-year software support also stand out. On the other hand, the vivo X200 Ultra delivers gimbal OIS, Zeiss optics with T coating*, super-bright 4500-nit display, and IP69 protection, which makes it ideal for outdoor or adventure users. It also includes emergency satellite SOS on its 1TB variant, appealing to users prioritizing safety.

Final Verdict:
Both smartphones are loaded with flagship specs, but their target audiences differ. Vivo X200 Ultra is a rugged, camera-stabilized powerhouse with extended battery life and better value. It’s best for power users, travelers, and content creators. Xiaomi 15 Ultra, with its superior photo tools, wireless charging speed, and broader ecosystem, caters to enthusiasts who value imaging flexibility and long-term support. Overall, for most users, the Vivo offers better value and performance balance, while Xiaomi appeals more to professional photographers and premium tech adopters.

Samsung is testing its premium Tri-Fold — and the charging speed will surprise you

Samsung’s upcoming tri-fold smartphone, teased at the Galaxy S25 launch event in January 2025, has already drawn plenty of attention—though not all of it positive. A recent leak from X user @PandaFlashPro suggests this premium device might be stuck with a sluggish 25W charging speed, a letdown for a premium foldable phone expected to push boundaries in other aspects. With a potential Q4 2025 debut, here’s why this news has fans grumbling.

The tri-fold doesn’t even match the mid-range Galaxy A36 when it comes to charging

Samsung’s tri-fold phone, reportedly named the “Galaxy G Fold”, is set to be a game-changer with a 10-inch unfolding display and a 6.49-inch cover screen, matching the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s outer panel. But recent tests reveal a charging speed of just 23 – 24W, which will likely be marketed as 25W. That’s a bummer when mid-range Galaxy A56 and A36 phones zip along at 45W.

This isn’t new for Samsung’s foldables—the Galaxy Z Fold 6 caps at 25W, and a certification listing has confirmed the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 will follow suit. Samsung reportedly prioritizes battery longevity over speed, unlike rivals like OnePlus, which hit 100W+ on some models. That said, we’ve yet to see clear evidence that faster-charging phones suffer significantly worse long-term battery health compared to slower-charging ones. For a premium tri-fold expected to cost a pretty penny—potentially rivaling Huawei’s $2,800 Mate XT (review)—Samsung’s 25W cap feels outdated, to say the least.

Other tidbits? The tri-fold might skip an under-display camera, opting for a hole-punch design, possibly to keep costs or complexity down. Notably, Apple is reportedly including it in its first foldable iPhone. With production of the tri-fold reportedly limited to 200,000-300,000 units, Samsung is playing it safe, likely testing the waters in South Korea and select markets first. A Q4 2025 reveal could mean a release by year-end or early 2026. While the tri-fold’s innovative design is exciting, the 25W charging cap may leave power users wanting more—and occasionally frustrated.

One UI 7 stable update is finally rolling out in India, Middle East, UAE, and Turkey

Samsung began rolling out the stable One UI 7 update to its 2024 flagships earlier this month, and it recently reached the 2023 models as well—though until now, it had been limited to Samsung’s home country. That’s changing, with the update now reaching users outside South Korea. Starting with the Galaxy S24 series, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6, the update is already live in India. Packed with a refreshed look and smarter features, it’s expected to expand to more devices soon!

Galaxy Z Fold 6 One UI 7 stable update

Stable One UI 7 is rolling out to Samsung’s 2024 flagships in India

The stable One UI 7.0 update is rolling out first to the Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6 in India. It has also popped up in the Middle East, UAE, and Turkey, with North America likely next. Carrying the April 2025 security patch, this update is a big one—think 5GB for non-beta users. If you’ve got one of these phones, head to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install to check for it.

This isn’t just a security patch; One UI 7.0’s a full-on makeover. You’ll get a split Quick Panel and notifications page, with the panel now super customizable, including a handy volume slider. App icons for Samsung’s stock apps are sharper, the camera app is redesigned for easier one-handed use, and animations are much smoother. New and improved Galaxy AI features, like enhanced suggestions and object eraser, add some brains to the beauty.

The Now Bar is a standout, which shows live updates on the lock screen for media, timers, or Samsung Health workouts. Widgets got a glow-up too, with more options for home and lock screens, plus better lock screen customization. There’s a new battery icon, a new charging animation, and extra battery health tools. Older high-end and mid-range Galaxy phones are next in line, with budget models following in a couple of months. Unfortunately, little is known about the update’s development stage for non-flagship devices. Still, it’s worth keeping your notifications on—this one’s worth the wait.
