Oppo K13 5G teased to first launch in India: Flipkart availability confirmed

Oppo has officially announced that it is planning to launch a new smartphone in the Indian market soon. The Oppo K13 is the model in question, but it isn’t just a smartphone that the company is bringing over from China. This model is making its first debut in India. So here’s what we know.

Oppo K13 5G arriving in India soon

Oppo K13 Teaser

The Chinese tech giant officially shared a teaser on Flipkart, which is a popular e-retailer in India. This confirms the availability of the Oppo K13 in the region and hints at its imminent release. The Oppo K13 has been rumored to be in the work for sometime now along with its higher end Oppo K13 Pro model. As the name suggests, the Oppo K13 is the direct successor of the Oppo K12, which launched as the rebranded version of the OnePlus Nord CE 4.

Based on our previous report, the Oppo K13 is rumored to feature the Dimensity 8400 SoC. The Oppo K13x was also leaked as an entry level model in the series, which features the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, an FHD+ AMOLED display, and a massive 7,000mAh battery pack with 80W wired fast charging. In other words, the more expensive base Oppo K13 would likely bring similar if not better specs.

Oppo Find X8 Ultra: all key specs now official, Oppo’s first Ultra phone with a flat design

The Oppo Find X8 Ultra will launch tomorrow, and the company just revealed basically all the key specifications ahead of the launch through its official Weibo account.

Key specifications:

First off, this is the company’s first Ultra phone with a flat display and middle frame. The display panel has a 2K resolution, higher than the 1.5K of the Find X8 Pro. Oppo is also using its self-developed Display P2 chip and “sub-pixel calibration technology” for accurate colors and a visual experience that’s overall improved over the predecessor. As for now, the company is keeping the brightness numbers secret.

On the inside, the phone boasts the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, unlike the Find X8 and X8 Pro, which are powered by the Dimensity 9400. You can learn more about how the two chips compare here. To power the chip, the phone includes a 6,100 mAh battery, an upgrade over the 5910 mAh capacity of the Pro model. Not to mention, this is based on the high density Si/C battery tech, so the phone does not become bulky in order to pack more capacity.

This is paired with 100W wired (up from 80W support of the Find X8 Pro) and 50W wireless charging. Based on the test results from phones already running the 8 Elite chip, it’s not only more capable but also more efficient. So you can expect a decent improvement in battery life over the Find X7 Ultra.

As for the cameras, this Ultra phone includes: 50MP Sony Lytia LYT-900 1-inch type sensor (main), 50 MP Sony IMX882 (ultrawide), 50 MP Sony IMX906 (3x telephoto), and 50 MP Sony IMX882 for periscope telephoto.

All of it is protected with an IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance rating, which means you can even use the phone for underwater photography without worrying about water damage. The company officially compared the imaging performance of the X8 Ultra with the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which you can check out here.

Trump presses TSMC to build in US or face up to 100% tariff

U.S. President Donald Trump has stirred fresh debate on U.S.-Taiwan trade relations and semiconductor manufacturing policy. According to Reuters, Trump made assertive remarks at a Republican National Congressional Committee event, where he criticized government grants to foreign chipmakers and disclosed his firm approach during his presidency.

Trump warns TSMC over domestic investment

TSMC

During the event, Trump revealed he had warned Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) of a potential tax of up to 100 percent if it did not establish its factories within the U.S.

Unlike the current administration, which has awarded TSMC’s U.S. unit a $6.6 billion grant for its Arizona-based manufacturing expansion, Trump said he offered no financial assistance but used taxation as a deterrent. TSMC had previously confirmed a $100 billion investment plan in the U.S., which includes five new facilities.

In response to the tariff threat, Taiwanese officials said they have already initiated discussions with Washington to resolve the matter diplomatically. Taiwan’s National Security Bureau Director-General confirmed ongoing “strategic communication” with U.S. officials, aiming to secure a negotiation process that avoids retaliation.

Taiwan has offered zero tariffs, more investment, and procurement in the U.S. to de-escalate the situation. Meanwhile, a report by Investing claimed that Taiwan’s stock market has been volatile amid the developments, prompting the government to activate a $15 billion stabilization fund to restore investor confidence. TSMC shares remained flat, but major suppliers like Foxconn experienced noticeable declines.

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion vs Nothing Phone 3a: Which mid-ranger should you buy ?

The mid-range smartphone market is heating up, and the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion and Nothing Phone 3a are two of the most talked-about contenders in 2024. With each offering a mix of premium features at competitive prices, this comparison matters for anyone trying to find real value without sacrificing quality. Whether you’re into cutting-edge design, battery life, or everyday performance, choosing between these two could define your smartphone experience for the next few years.

1. Design and Display

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion
Motorola Edge 60 Fusion

The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion delivers a premium and lightweight feel with its Gorilla Glass 7i front and eco-leather silicone polymer back. It’s IP68/IP69 rated, making it more resistant to dust, immersion, and even high-pressure water jets, something the Nothing Phone 3a can’t quite match with its IP64 splash resistance. In contrast, the Nothing 3a embraces a more expressive design language with its transparent back and three LED light strips. It’s heavier and slightly bulkier, but stands out visually, especially for users who want something eye-catching and unique.

In terms of display, Motorola edges ahead with a brighter and sharper 6.67″ LTPO P-OLED panel with a higher peak brightness of 4500 nits and a resolution of 1220p. The Nothing Phone 3a, while slightly larger at 6.77″, settles for a 1080p AMOLED screen that peaks at 3000 nits and lacks LTPO tech, which means less efficient refresh rate switching.

While the Nothing 3a wins in visual flair, the Edge 60 Fusion offers a more refined and durable design with a technically superior display. For those who value screen quality and build durability, Motorola takes the lead here.

Please Note: When you buy something using the links in our articles, we may earn a small commission at no cost to you.

2. Specifications

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion
Motorola Edge 60 Fusion

Under the hood, the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion features MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 or 7400 depending on region, which offers solid performance for everyday tasks and some mid-tier gaming. The Nothing Phone 3a is powered by the newer Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, giving it an edge in graphical tasks and efficiency, especially with its newer architecture and Adreno 710 GPU. RAM and storage options are similar, though Motorola offers up to 512GB, while Nothing maxes out at 256GB.

Battery-wise, the Edge 60 Fusion has a larger capacity (5200mAh/5500mAh depending on the market) and charges faster at 68W. The Nothing Phone 3a comes with a 5000mAh battery and supports 50W charging, which is still fast but slightly behind Motorola in both size and speed.

Nothing Phone 3a offers newer silicon with better GPU performance, but Motorola wins in raw battery size, charging speed, and higher storage ceiling. For users who prioritize battery longevity and quicker top-ups, the Edge 60 Fusion has the upper hand.

3. Camera

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion
Nothing Phone 3a

Camera hardware is where the Nothing Phone 3a flexes its muscles. It comes with a triple camera setup, 50MP main, 50MP 2x telephoto, and an 8MP ultrawide. The addition of a dedicated telephoto lens with optical zoom is rare in this segment and offers more creative flexibility. Motorola counters with a dual camera setup: a 50MP main with OIS and a 13MP ultrawide. While solid, it lacks the telephoto versatility.

Both phones offer 4K video recording, gyro-EIS, and strong selfie cameras with 32MP sensors. However, Motorola’s selfie shooter also supports 4K video, giving it an edge for content creators or video calls in higher resolution.

Nothing Phone 3a wins the camera game with more versatility and a dedicated telephoto lens. If photography is your priority, especially zoom shots, the 3a delivers more value. But for video-focused users, Motorola’s 4K selfie cam is a quiet strength.

4. Pricing

This is where the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion truly shines. At $350, it offers a flagship-level display, strong battery, and decent cameras, all at an extremely competitive price point. In contrast, the Nothing Phone 3a comes in at nearly $600, almost a $250 difference. While it does bring a more advanced chipset and camera array, the jump in price may not justify the improvements for many users, especially if budget is a concern.

Unless you specifically need the 3a’s telephoto camera or prefer the aesthetic of the Nothing ecosystem, the Edge 60 Fusion offers better value for money. It hits the sweet spot between performance and price, making it the smarter pick for most users.

5. Conclusion

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion
Nothing Phone 3a

One of the standout features of the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion is its IP69 rating, extremely rare at this price, and guarantees protection even against high-pressure water. It also supports “Ready For” (Smart Connect), allowing users to connect to external monitors for a desktop-like experience. The Nothing Phone 3a’s unique highlights are its glyph interface with 26 addressable light zones and its Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, which brings improved AI features and better thermals.

Motorola supports microSD cards, which the Nothing 3a omits, and its under-display fingerprint reader is paired with one of the brightest screens in its class. Nothing, however, leans into ecosystem features with “Circle to Search” and tight Android 15 + Nothing OS 3.1 integration.

The Edge 60 Fusion is better suited for practical users who value ruggedness, expandable storage, and a productivity edge. Meanwhile, the 3a caters to tech enthusiasts and those wanting to stand out visually. Your choice depends on whether function or flair matters more.

Apple shifts its inventory from India and China to the US to dodge Trump’s tariff deadline

In a move to dodge the newly imposed import duties, Apple flew five cargo planes filled with iPhones and other products from India and China to the US, reportedly within just three days. As per a report from The Times of India, this happened in the last week of March.

iPhone displayed in Apple Store
Image: Apple

The new US tariffs are the reason behind this sudden inventory shift

According to a senior Indian official (via), this urgency to shift the inventory to the US was driven by a new 10 percent reciprocal tariff introduced by the Trump administration that kicked in on April 5. Notably, this is also an unusual time for anything near this scale of an inventory shift. The global electronic transport typically sees a slowdown towards the end of Q1.

According to the TOI report, Apple is just trying to keep the retail pricing the same as long as possible. Not to mention, this large-scale inventory shift is none other than a swift response to the new tariff aimed at minimizing the financial burden on the company without imposing the added cost on the end users.

“Stockpiling inventory that arrived before the tariff hike gives Apple a buffer, allowing it to avoid immediate price increases,” notes the TOI report, citing the source. Apple now has enough stocks in the US to sustain the market demand throughout the next couple of months without having to increase the price tag. Notably, the company does not have any immediate plans to increase the price in other markets such as India and China either. But what happens after the current stocks in the US run out remains a question for now.

According to an industry insider, “A price revision solely in the US would not be feasible. The impact would have to be spread across major markets, including India.” The Trump administration is pushing hard to convince TSMC to build in the US — you can read more about it here.

Infinix has been consistently expanding its Note 50 series in India, and the latest addition has already begun generating buzz. After launching the Note 50x 5G, the brand teased the arrival of a more premium device — the Infinix Note 50s 5G. While official specifications are still under wraps, the company has offered glimpses of what to expect, including its design, display, and unique features.

India’s slimmest phone with a 144Hz AMOLED display

A highlight feature of the upcoming Infinix Note 50s 5G is its ultra-slim profile, which the brand has showcased alongside a pencil to demonstrate just how sleek it really is. According to Infinix, this will be the slimmest smartphone in its segment. It’s also the first in its class to sport a 144Hz 3D curved AMOLED display.

The 6.78-inch panel will support an FHD+ resolution, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and 2304Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye fatigue. Gorilla Glass 5 adds durability, while 10-bit color and 100% DCI-P3 coverage promise vivid and accurate visuals.

Infinix Note 50s 5G

The Infinix Note 50s 5G will be available in three color options: Titanium Grey, Ruby Red, and Marine Drift Blue. The last of these features a vegan leather back with an interesting twist — it uses microencapsulation technology to emit a pleasant fragrance over time. Infinix calls this “Energizing Scent-Tech,” claiming it can release subtle top, middle, and base notes for up to six months, depending on usage and environmental conditions.

While other specifications of the Note 50s 5G are under wraps, it is said to be equipped with a 64MP Sony IMX682 primary camera.

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion vs Edge 50 Fusion: Is the upgrade worth it?

With Motorola launching the Edge 60 Fusion hot on the heels of the Edge 50 Fusion, many users are wondering just how much of an upgrade it truly is. On paper, the differences seem subtle, but in practice, even small enhancements can impact daily use. This comparison is important for buyers deciding whether to save money with the Edge 50 or invest in the newer Edge 60 for added value.

1. Design and Display

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion
Motorola Edge 60 Fusion

Both phones adopt a premium look with eco-leather backs and curved-edge P-OLED displays, but the Edge 60 Fusion refines the design even further. It introduces Gorilla Glass 7i protection versus Gorilla Glass 5 on the Edge 50 Fusion, offering better scratch and drop resistance. The Edge 60 Fusion also includes MIL-STD-810H compliance and is rated IP68/IP69, whereas the Edge 50 Fusion only carries the standard IP68 rating. That added IP69 and drop resistance gives the Edge 60 a clear advantage in ruggedness.

When it comes to display, both feature nearly identical size and P-OLED quality, but the Edge 60 Fusion’s LTPO panel is a major upgrade. It offers a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate and a blazing peak brightness of 4500 nits, compared to 144Hz (static) and 1600 nits max on the Edge 50. The LTPO technology not only makes animations smoother but also more power-efficient.

The Edge 60 Fusion wins on display clarity, durability, and smart refresh rate control. It feels more flagship-level, especially in outdoor visibility, and builds confidence.

2. Specifications

Motorola Edge 50 Fusion
Motorola Edge 50 Fusion

Under the hood, the Edge 60 Fusion brings in a newer MediaTek Dimensity 7300/7400 chip, while the Edge 50 Fusion relies on Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 or Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. The MediaTek options offer higher clock speeds and improved efficiency, especially in the Indian variant. While the Snapdragon chips are solid, the Dimensity series used here may handle sustained performance and thermal management slightly better in everyday multitasking.

Both phones offer UFS 2.2 storage and similar RAM options, but the Edge 60 Fusion includes a microSD card slot, which the 50 Fusion lacks, a small but useful addition for users needing expandable storage.

Battery life seems a minor bump too. The Edge 60 Fusion houses a larger 5200/5500 mAh battery (region dependent), compared to 5000 mAh in the Edge 50 Fusion. Both support 68W fast charging, but the Edge 50 Fusion advertises 50% in 15 minutes, suggesting slightly faster charging curves.

The Edge 60 Fusion takes the edge again with expandable storage, a bigger battery, and a slightly more capable chipset, making it better suited for power users.

3. Camera

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion
Motorola Edge 60 Fusion

Camera specs are quite similar at first glance: both have a 50MP main sensor with OIS and a 13MP ultrawide, along with a 32MP selfie camera. However, there are subtle improvements in image processing on the Edge 60 Fusion, aided by its newer chipset, which helps with better dynamic range and low-light handling.

The Edge 60 Fusion also supports higher frame rates for 1080p recording (up to 240fps), which the Edge 50 Fusion maxes at 120fps. Both support 4K at 30fps on front and rear, and both offer gyro-EIS stabilization.

While actual sensor sizes are the same, the Edge 60 Fusion appears tuned to deliver slightly sharper ultrawide shots and smoother video recording, likely due to better ISP integration in its chipset.

While both phones are closely matched, the Edge 60 Fusion pulls ahead in video versatility and low-light finesse, making it better for content creators on a budget.

4. Pricing

The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is positioned as the more budget-friendly option with an approximate $275 price tag, making it a great choice for users who want solid performance without stretching their wallets. The Edge 60 Fusion, on the other hand, comes in at a slightly higher price point of $350 to match its more refined features and upgraded hardware.

While the price jump isn’t drastic, it reflects the added value Motorola is offering with the newer model. If you’re looking for the best bang for your buck, the Edge 50 Fusion holds strong, but for a more future-ready experience, the Edge 60 Fusion is worth the extra cost.

5. Conclusion

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion
Motorola Edge 60 Fusion

The Edge 60 Fusion boasts some standout upgrades that distinguish it from its predecessor. These include a brighter and more efficient LTPO P-OLED display, MIL-STD-810H compliance, IP69 rating, expandable storage, and a larger battery — all of which are absent on the Edge 50 Fusion. It also debuts with Android 15 out of the box, one version ahead of the Edge 50 Fusion’s Android 14.

The Edge 50 Fusion, however, still holds strong appeal with its lightweight design, fast charging, and slightly higher refresh rate on paper (144Hz). But in real-world usage, the Edge 60’s smarter LTPO implementation and ultra-bright screen offer more practical benefits.

The Edge 60 Fusion is clearly a refinement, not a reinvention, but those refinements collectively offer a noticeably better user experience. If you’re upgrading or choosing between the two, the Edge 60 Fusion is the more future-proof option.

But it’s not flying solo on the leaderboard. The Mate 70 Pro—another entry from the same lineup—also made it into the top five, landing in third place with a 99.17% user satisfaction rating. The strong showing of both variants shows Huawei’s strategy to double down on in-house hardware and software is paying off, at least on home turf in China.

Huawei Mate 70 Pro Plus AnTuTu user satisfacting rating

Huawei’s made-in-China effort is paying off

The Mate 70 is a 100% made-in-China phone which includes the self-developed Kirin 9020 chip and homegrown Hongmeng OS (or HarmonyOS NEXT). The device has an equally good camera setup along with other premium features like a titanium alloy frame, stereo speakers, satellite messaging, and a 5700mAh battery with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging support.

Huawei-Mate-70-Pro-back-design-2

Second place goes to the Honor Magic 7 RSR Porsche Design Edition, which shares the same customer rating as the Mate 70 Pro (99.17%) but takes the runner-up spot on AnTuTu’s list. The foldable Magic V2 follows at number four with a 97.45% rating, and the Magic 6 Ultimate Edition rounds out the top five at 97.07%, backed by its unique design and camera performance.

The lower half of the top ten includes the Xiaomi 15 Ultra at sixth place (96.54%), OPPO Find N3 (95.48%), OPPO Find X7 Ultra (94.63%), Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus (94.12%), and the standard Xiaomi 15 at number ten with a 94.03% rating.

What’s surprising though is the complete absence of Apple from the list. Neither the base nor Pro iPhone 16 models made it to the top ten list. Apple is facing stiff competition from Huawei in China and HarmonyOS has already surpassed iOS in local user base. With the latest developments, Apple is now in a more precarious position.

Redmi Turbo 4 Pro’s April launch officially teased, Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 confirmed

Redmi has begun teasing the arrival of its upcoming smartphone, the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro. The brand’s General Manager, Wang Teng Thomas, recently took to Weibo to highlight the capabilities of the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, describing it as a powerful chip with efficient power consumption. He also confirmed that a Redmi phone powered by this chip is set to launch soon.

Redmi Turbo 4 Pro’s April launch teased

In response to a user comment on his latest Weibo post, Thomas gave a subtle confirmation about the launch timeline of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro. When asked whether the phone would be launched in April, he simply replied “can,” hinting at an imminent debut this month.

Earlier rumors suggested that the Turbo 4 Pro’s launch might be delayed due to a recent Xiaomi SU7 accident that resulted in the unfortunate death of three individuals. However, Thomas’s recent post appears to refute such delays, indicating that the launch is still on track.

Redmi Turbo 4 Pro specifications (rumoured)

According to leaks, the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro is expected to feature a 6.83-inch OLED LTPS display with a 1.5K resolution. It is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and pack a large 7,550mAh battery with 90W fast charging. The device may also include an OIS-assisted 50-megapixel primary camera accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens on the back. It is also expected to feature an optical in-screen fingerprint scanner, a metal middle frame, and an IP68/69-rated body for dust and water resistance. For those who don’t know, the Poco F7 that was recently certified in India could be a rebranded or tweaked version of the Turbo 4 Pro.

While Redmi has begun teasing the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4-powered Turbo 4 Pro, it may not be the first phone to debut with this new chip. iQOO has already started teasing the launch of the iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro in China, which is also expected to feature the same processor and is set to launch within this month. The pre-booking of the Z10 Turbo is already live on the company’s official online store and Chinese retailer platforms. Apart from the Pro model, the brand will also unveil the Dimensity 8400-powered iQOO Z10 Turbo.

The device is expected to arrive with 12GB / 16GB / 24GB of RAM and 256GB / 512GB / 1TB of storage. TENAA states that it has a 5,860mAh rated-value battery, which indicates it may pack a 6,000mAh typical value battery. Additionally, it will have an IR blaster and as per its 3C certification, it will support 80W fast charging.

Huawei Enjoy 70X Lite live image leaks, looks nearly identical to Enjoy 70X

Huawei unveiled the midrange Enjoy 70X back in December last year, and a “Lite” version is about to join the lineup, In the latest news, the Enjoy 70X Lite has appeared in live images, so the development is also almost complete.

Looks almost the same as the Enjoy 70X

While the phone has a “Lite” in its moniker, the appearance isn’t actually much different than the Enjoy 70X. T he curvature of the front glass, the bezels around the display panel, and even the size of of the pill-shaped cutout appears exactly the same as the regular version.

Huawei Enjoy 70X

On the back, however, the appearance differs slightly from the Enjoy 70Xm as the camera module has a single tone finish instead of a two-tone one. And the camera hardware should not be much different either, as the setup on the regular model is already quite simple—50MP main + 2MP depth sensor. The main 50MP sensor of the 70X measures 1/1.56″, which is reasonably large for a midrange device. So the manufacturer may opt for a smaller sensor for this model both for differentiation and reduction in cost.

The regular model comes with plastic middle frame and plastic back plate, so there won’t likely be a major difference in the in-hand experience either.

As for other aspects, you get a 6.78″ 1.5K AMOLED with the regular model, that’s powered by the Kirin 8000A chip and a massive 6,100 mAh battery. it measures 8mm in thickness, weighs around 190 grans (despite the large battery) and is IP64 dust and water resistant, which means it can withstand splashes of water. The Enjoy 70X was launched with a starting price (8GB+128GB) of CNY 1799, which is equivalent to $246. It will be interesting to see which corners will be cut to differentiate the Enjoy 70X Lite from the 70X.

The device targets fitness enthusiasts with a 2.07-inch AMOLED display—the same size as the global Redmi Watch 5—and a peak brightness of 1500 nits, which Xiaomi claims is the brightest in its budget segment. REDMI Watch Move

The Watch Move supports Bluetooth calling with dual microphones for noise reduction, over 100 sports modes, and five satellite positioning systems (GNSS) for accurate outdoor tracking. It runs on HyperOS, though specifics about the software upgrade remain unclear.

Sales will likely start on Amazon and Mi.com after the April 21 launch. Exact pricing, color options, and HyperOS features will be announced closer to the date.

In other news, Redmi has opened reservations for the Buds 7S wireless earbuds on JD.com in China. Priced at 199 Yuan (~$27), they feature a dual-driver setup (12.4mm titanium-coated + 5.5mm ceramic), SoundID audio personalization, spatial audio, and dual-mode active noise cancellation.
