Apple’s latest generation of iPhones was just unveiled with the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max featuring its flagship A18 Pro chipset. This is the brand’s latest and greatest mobile processor, but how would it compare with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4? Let’s find out.
Keep in mind that this quick comparison is based on rumors and reports regarding the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which has yet to be released.
1. Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 vs Apple A18 Pro: Specifications
The Apple iPhone 16 Pro models were launched with the A18 Pro chipset. This processor was developed on TSMC’s 3nmm process with a 6 core CPU (2 x 4.05GHz + 4 x 2.2GHz), a 6 core GPU, and a 16 core Neural Engine that is capable of 35 trillion operations per second. The 6 core graphics unit has a 1.45GHz clock frequency with support for hardware accelerated Ray Tracing.
Meanwhile, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is also rumored to be based on the 3nm process from TSMC. Similar to the A18 Pro, it also has two prime cores but with a higher 4.37GHz clock speed (previously expected to be 4.09GHz) and six efficiency cores clocked at 2.78GHz. This processor is rumored to be coupled with the Adreno 830 GPU, which may have a 1.25GHz clock frequency and Ray Tracing support.
2. Benchmark: How do they compare?
So now that we know what each of these are packing, let’s see how they compare. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 recently surfaced on GeekBench, which is a popular benchmarking platform. It achieved a score of 2884 points in the single core test and 8840 points in the multi core test. It is worth noting that the score was for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which was running at a 4.09GHz clock speed and not 4.37GHz.
On the other hand, Apple’s A18 Pro received around 3,500 points in the single core test in GeekBench and 8,200 points in the multi core test. So it seems like Qualcomm is nearing Apple in terms of single core performance. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 likely won’t outperform the A18 Pro in single core, but it might be closer in performance than the previous generation. Qualcomm is set to launch its flagship chipset next month, so stick around for more updates.

After teasers, Huawei has officially launched the Mate XT Ultimate Design, as the world’s first commercially available phone with a tri-folding display. Let’s unpack what this ambitious device has to offer.
Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design Specifications
The Mate XT sports a chameleon-like screen that transforms depending on your needs. Closed, it’s a fairly standard 6.4-inch FHD+ phone. Unfold it halfway, and you’ve got a larger 7.9-inch 2K screen, ideal for watching videos or catching up on emails. But the real magic happens when you fully unfurl the beast: a tablet-sized 10.2-inch 3K display unfurls for a desktop-like experience.
The phone’s thickness when fully open is just 3.6mm while it measures 12.8mm thick when folded. That’s just slightly thicker than the Z Fold 6’s 12.1mm body.
Additionally, Huawei claims a 25% increase in bend resistance compared to other foldables, but real-world testing will be crucial to see if the tri-fold design holds up to daily wear and tear.
Huawei hasn’t revealed the processor yet, but according to rumors, it could be the Kirin 9000 chip we’ve seen on the Pura 70 series.
The camera system is a capable one. It features a 50MP main sensor with a variable aperture (f/1.4 to f/4.0) paired with a 12MP ultrawide and 12MP periscope telephoto that completes the rear setup. An 8MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.
Despite a complex hinge design and the whole tri-fold structure, Huawei has managed to squeeze in a fairly large batter in the Mate XT. It’s a 5600mAh silicon carbon battery, is claimed to be the world’s thinnest, and supports 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless.
Alongside the tri-fold, Huawei introduced a foldable touch keyboard that pairs with the Mate XT for a desktop-like experience. It can be a useful accessory for productivity enthusiasts.
Price and Availability
The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is available in Black and Red, with the 16GB+256GB model priced at 1,99,99 yuan (approximately USD 2808 / Rs. 2,35,910).
The higher-tier 16GB+512GB version costs 2,19,99 yuan (approximately USD 3089 / Rs. 2,59,500), and the top-end 16GB+1TB model is priced at 2,39,99 yuan (approximately USD 3370 / Rs. 2,83,095). It is already available for pre-order, with sales starting in China on September 20th.
Back in August, we answered the question about whether you should buy the iPhone 15 after the iPhone 16 series was announced. The answer was yes, the newer iPhones bring official price cuts for the base variants and third party sales for the Pro models. Now, Apple has officially rolled out discounts for four iPhones, making them more affordable. So let’s check it out.
It is worth noting that these are official price cuts, so e-retailers might have different pricing.

4. iPhone 14 Plus
The last on the list is the iPhone 14 Plus. Just like its smaller sibling, Apple is offering a 20,000 INR discount on its three storage options. So the 2022 iPhone model now costs 69,900 INR, 79,900 INR, and 99,900 INR. The Plus models are the better deals here thanks to the larger screen and longer battery life.

In terms of memory and storage, both phones offer configurations of 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. This ensures smooth operation and plenty of storage space for apps, games, and media files.
4. Camera
When it comes to camera systems, the Honor Magic V3 focuses on versatility with its triple camera setup on the rear, including a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom (100x digital zoom), and a 40MP ultrawide camera. For selfies, Honor includes a 20MP front camera on both the internal and external displays, along with AI image beautification enhancements.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, meanwhile, partners with Leica to offer a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and macro capabilities. It also features a 10MP Samsung S5K3K1 periscope lens with 5x optical zoom for long-distance shots. The Leica partnership emphasizes color accuracy and detail retention, particularly in high-contrast scenarios, making the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 a top contender for those who care about photography.
Both phones offer 4K video recording and advanced AI features, but Xiaomi’s Leica Summilux lens and specialized telephoto lenses give it an edge for those who want the best photography experience.
5. Battery and Charging
Battery life is another crucial factor in foldable phones, and both Honor and Xiaomi have made strides to ensure their devices are capable of all-day usage. The Honor Magic V3 packs a 5,150mAh battery with support for 66W wired SuperCharge and 50W wireless charging.
This is comparable to the 5,100mAh silicon-carbon battery in the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, which supports 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Ultimately, the choice between the two will depend on what features matter most to you.
Realme has recently launched the Realme 13 Pro series of smartphones in both India and China. Additionally, the brand has introduced several other models in India, including the Realme 13, Realme 13+, and Narzo 70 Turbo 5G. Later this week, the country is also set to receive another mid-range device, the Realme P2 Pro. As per recent reports, Realme is working on its next-generation flagship phone, the Realme GT 7 Pro. Recent social media posts by Xu Qi Chase, Realme’s Vice President and President of Global Marketing, have revealed key details about this upcoming flagship device.
Realme GT 7 Pro launching earlier than the Realme GT 5 Pro
Realme to add a solid-state button on its upcoming phone
Apple has recently launched the iPhone 16 series, with one of the major upgrades being the inclusion of the new Camera Control button. It is a versatile solid-state pressure-sensitive button that can autofocus with a light press, capture with a harder press, and slide from left to right to zoom in or zoom out.
It was reported last month that Oppo’s upcoming Find X8 series could also be equipped with a similar pressure-sensitive button. In the latest X post, Xu Qi claimed that the company’s upcoming phone will have a solid-state button, which is similar to the Capture (Camera Control) button available on the new iPhones. While he did not explicitly reveal the phone’s name, the company would likely like to receive such a flagship feature for its next flagship phone, the GT 7 Pro.
Xu Qi’s recent Weibo post has also revealed when to expect the GT 7 Pro’s arrival. He hinted that the Realme GT 7 Pro will launch earlier than its predecessor, the Realme GT 5 Pro, which made its announcement in December 2023. This indicates that the brand may unveil the GT 7 Pro in November in China.
iPhone 16 series with Camera Control control button
In a previous X (formerly Twitter) post, he confirmed that the company will be launching the GT 7 Pro in India this year. With the November launch likely for the Chinese market, it seems that the GT 7 Pro may debut globally in December. Realme reportedly plans to introduce the GT 7 Pro as the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 phone.
The Galaxy S24 FE has been a constant murmur in the rumor mill, and for good reason. Samsung‘s “Fan Edition” phones typically provide a more affordable way to access flagship features. However, a recent leak suggests this year’s model may not be as budget-friendly.
According to WinFuture, the S24 FE could see a price increase of €100 ($100) compared to its predecessor. This would push the starting price to $699, up from the S23 FE’s $599 launch tag.
Despite the price increase, the leak suggests that there won’t be any upgrade in RAM or storage — the base model will still come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Let’s see what $600 might get you.
Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Specifications
The S24 FE is rumored to boast a larger display – a 6.7-inch panel compared to the S23 FE’s 6.4-inch. This would be the biggest display ever seen on a Galaxy Fan Edition phone, nearing the size of the flagship S24 Ultra.
Under the hood, the S24 FE is expected to pack either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the Exynos 2400 – the same chips powering the flagship S24 lineup.
However, there might be a slight caveat. WinFuture suggests the Exynos version (common in Europe and other regions) could have a clock speed 100MHz lower than the one found in the regular S24 series. The same could potentially apply to the Snapdragon variant in the US. Basically, you might get a slightly detuned version of the flagship chip.
The leak suggests the camera setup might remain the same as the S23 FE. So, if you were hoping for a major camera upgrade to justify the price hike, you might be disappointed.
The rumored price hike for the Galaxy S24 FE isn’t exactly exciting news, especially considering the lack of any major upgrades. A $100 increase without improvements in RAM or storage, the camera department, feels hard to justify.
Apple confirmed that iOS 18 will be available for download on September 16th, just a few days before the iPhone 16 series launch. The update will reach all compatible iPhones on the same day while the iPhone 16s will ship pre-installed with it.
The headline feature of iOS 18, Apple Intelligence, won’t be available immediately, though. Users will have to wait for iOS 18.1 (or iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1) to experience it, the rollout of which is expected in October.
Also, the first batch of AI features will be limited to US English. Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and UK will get their regional English support in December. Whereas, other major languages like Chinese, French, and Spanish will get support next year.
Apple Intelligence promises a range of features designed to enhance productivity and communication. October’s update will introduce system-wide Writing Tools, enabling users to rewrite, proofread, and summarize text across various apps, including Mail, Notes, and Pages.
iOS 18.1 also brings AI-powered improvements to the Photos app. Users will be able to create short movies based on descriptions within the Memories feature, search photos using natural language queries, and pinpoint specific moments within videos. Additionally, the update introduces a “Clean Up” function that removes unwanted objects or people from photos.
The Notes and Phone apps will benefit from AI-powered recording transcription and summarization. Similarly, emails will be condensed into summaries, while Mail receives a revamp with Priority Messages and Smart Reply functionalities.
Siri is receiving a significant overhaul with iOS 18.1. The virtual assistant will now support on-device typing for queries, alongside a more “natural” and “flexible” conversational style. Notably, Siri will be able to answer “thousands of questions” about Apple device features and settings.
It’s important to note that Apple Intelligence requires a relatively recent device. The AI features will only be available on the newly launched iPhone 16 lineup, iPhone 15 Pro, and Pro Max models, as well as iPads and Macs equipped with M1 chips or later.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion are strong mid-range phones released in the first half of this year. The Edge 50 Fusion is currently selling for Rs. 24,999, while the Edge 50 Pro costs Rs. 31,999.
There’s a clear gap in pricing between these Edge 50 duos, which is also reflected on the spec sheet. That doesn’t make the Edge 50 Fusion a bad choice. In fact, it’s better than the Edge 50 Pro in many ways.
Here, we will compare the Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion to help you pick the correct one for your needs.
Let’s start with the spec sheet:
Edge 50 Pro
Edge 50 Fusion
Release Date
April 2024
May 2024
Body
Domension: 161.2 x 72.4 x 8.2 mm Weight: 186 g IP68 rating
Dimension: 161.9 x 73.1 x 7.9 mm Weight: 175 g IP68 rating
Both smartphones share a similar design and look premium. However, the Edge 50 Pro has a larger camera module on the back to house an additional camera sensor. Both are available in vegan leather options and have an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water.
Although the two look similar, the Edge 50 Pro has an aluminum frame, while the Edge 50 Fusion has a plastic frame. This means the Pro model has a better build quality.
Motorola Edge 50 Pro vs Edge 50 Fusion: Display
The Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion are hard to differentiate from the front as they have the same screen size and screen quality. However, the Pro model has a better resolution, but it is hard to differentiate from the naked eye.
Both devices offer a similar experience, but not when playing HDR content. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro supports HDR10+, but the Edge 50 Fusion doesn’t. Both share a 144Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass protection.
On a bright day, the Edge 50 Pro’s content would be more visible outdoors because of higher peak brightness, but the difference is not significant compared to the Edge 50 Fusion.
Motorola Edge 50 Pro vs Edge 50 Fusion: Performance
The Edge 50 Pro edges out the Edge 50 Fusion in terms of performance. The Pro model is driven by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 — It’s not a flagship chip but a popular choice among midrangers.
The Edge 50 Fusion has the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, which can’t match the performance offered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, but provides a smoother experience. You can do light gaming as well.
Because of a faster and more efficient chip, the Edge 50 Pro beats down the Edge 50 Fusion on all benchmarks. On Geekbench, the difference is around 10%, while on AnTuTu 10, the difference is close to 45%.
Although the Edge 50 Pro has more robust camera specs, it couldn’t beat the Edge 50 Fusion in all camera tests.
Both smartphones have a 50MP primary sensor, which captures really good shots. The Edge 50 Fusion shots have more saturation, contrast, and saturation. Both share the same 13MP ultrawide camera, so the output quality is similar.
The third camera sensor in the Edge 50 Pro makes a big difference. It’s a 10MP telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom. Hence, all zoom shots look way better on the Edge 50 Pro than Edge 50 Fusion, which uses digital zoom. Both smartphones do a better job in low-light conditions, but the Pro has a little edge.
In terms of 4K video recording, the Edge 50 Fusion has better quality than the Edge 50 Pro. And the selfie videos have a similar output quality.
Motorola Edge 50 Pro vs Edge 50 Fusion: Software
Both smartphones come with a Hello UI custom skin based on Android 14. As you may already know, Motorola is one of the few brands that offers a close-to-stock Android experience with minimum bloatware.
Motorola has promised three major Android updates and four years of security patches for both Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion.
Motorola Edge 50 Pro vs Edge 50 Fusion: Battery
The Edge 50 Fusion has a bigger battery — It’s 5,000mAh (vs. 4,500mAh on the Edge 50 Pro). So, you’ll get a few extra hours of battery life on the Edge 50 Fusion.
The charging speed on the Edge 50 Fusion is disappointing, though. It supports 68W wired charging, while the Edge 50 Pro has 125W wired charging support.
It takes only 18 minutes to fill up the Edge 50 Pro’s battery to 100%, whereas the Edge 50 Fusion takes a little over an hour. The Pro model also supports 50W wireless and 10W reverse wireless charging, lacking in the Edge 50 Fusion.
Motorola Edge 50 Pro vs Edge 50 Fusion: Connectivity
The Edge 50 Pro offers better connectivity features. It supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4, whereas the Edge 50 Fusion has Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2.
While both have a USB-C port, the Edge 50 Pro has a newer generation of USB technology that means faster data transfer over a USB cable.
Motorola Edge 50 Pro vs Edge 50 Fusion: Conclusion
Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion have a premium design and strong spec sheets, although there are critical differences that set them apart.
The Edge 50 Pro has a more capable chip, which can better handle your gaming needs. Besides performance, the Edge 50 Pro outperforms the Edge 50 Fusion in terms of zoom shots and charging speed. However, the Edge 50 Fusion offers an excellent value for the price.
If you’re much into gaming, the Edge 50 Pro is a better choice. For others, the Edge 50 Fusion seems to offer more value for money.

Realme is set to launch its latest P series device, the P2 Pro, in India on September 13. Ahead of the official launch, the smartphone has been spotted on Geekbench, revealing some key specifications.
Realme P1 Pro
The P2 Pro, listed with the model number RMX3987, scored 866 in a single-core test and 2811 in a multicore test on Geekbench. Powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset with 12GB of RAM, the device is expected to deliver solid performance.
The smartphone has already been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), confirming its impending launch in India.
Realme has previously teased that the P2 Pro will feature an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout. The device will sport a distinctive oval-shaped camera module with a golden ring, reminiscent of other 2024 Realme models.
The camera setup is expected to include a dual camera system with OIS support, and Realme claims it will be the first smartphone in its segment to offer 80W Ultra charging technology. A single 5-minute charge is said to provide 1.5 hours of gaming, 24 hours of music, or 3.5 hours of movies. The P2 Pro is likely to be priced just below the Rs 20,000 mark.
In other news, Realme has launched the Buds N1 TWS earphones in India. The Buds N1 features an in-ear design with silicone tips, IP55 dust and water resistance, and touch controls. They include a 12.4mm bass driver, 46dB hybrid active noise cancellation, and AI-enhanced call noise reduction. With Spatial Audio for immersive sound, the earbuds offer 40 hours of battery life, with 9 hours per charge.
The Series 10 is nearly 10% thinner than previous models while maintaining its 18-hour battery life. This is made possible by a new design that integrates the antenna into the watch casing. It comes in aluminum and titanium cases, with several colors and finishes, including jet-black aluminum and polished titanium.
2. Larger Display and Improved Refresh Rate
The Series 10 has the largest display on any Apple Watch, with up to 30% more screen area. The wide-angle OLED technology makes it 40% brighter when viewed from an angle, and the faster refresh rate allows for a continuously moving second hand on some watch faces.
3. Faster Charging
Thanks to the updated back design, Series 10 has faster charging capabilities. Just 15 minutes of charging gives up to eight hours of use, and 30 minutes will charge it to 80%.
4. Sleep Apnea Notifications
In addition to sleep tracking, the Series 10 can now monitor signs of sleep apnea by detecting wrist movements linked to breathing interruptions. The feature will likely receive regulatory approval soon.
5. Water Features
For those who enjoy water activities, the Series 10 includes a depth gauge that measures up to 6 meters and a water temperature sensor. The Depth app shows details like current depth, water temperature, time underwater, and maximum depth. WatchOS 11 also introduces a Tides app for open water activities.
6. Audio and Call Clarity
The Series 10 allows users to listen to audio through its built-in speakers, including Apple Music and Podcasts, as well as third-party apps. It also includes a voice isolation feature that reduces background noise during calls.
7. New Finishes
For the first time, the Apple Watch is available in a polished aluminum finish, including a shiny jet-black option. A polished titanium finish, which replaces stainless steel in some models, offers a lighter and more reflective look. Both aluminum and titanium models come in multiple colors.
8. watchOS 11
The Series 10 runs on watchOS 11, which includes new features like the Vitals app, training load insights, customizable Activity rings, and an improved Smart Stack.
9. Pricing and Availability
The Apple Watch Series 10 starts at $399 and is available for pre-order now, with in-store availability starting on September 20. New watch bands are also available for order.
