After confirming the update schedule for OriginOS 6 in India, Vivo and iQOO have confirmed that the next gen software will also be arriving on two more older iQOO smartphones. The device in question is the iOQO Neo 7 and Neo 7 Pro. So here’s everything you need to know.

iQOO Neo 7 and Neo 7 Pro to Get OriginOS 6

The Chinese smartphone maker has officially confirmed the OriginOS 6 update in India following its global announcement. We recently got a confirmation for the smartphone models that will be receiving the update, along with the rollout timeline for these devices. For example, the Vivo X200 series is set to receive the update in early November, while the older X100 series, the older foldable phone, and a few others will get the update later this month.

The update schedule continued on till 2026. But now, iQOO has confirmed that its iQOO Neo 7 and Neo 7 Pro models are also included for the OriginOS 6 update. To recall, the iQOO Neo 10, Neo 9 Pro, and Neo 10R are already set to receive this update, which is replacing the FuntouchOS platform with OriginOS. The Neo 7 and Neo 7 Pro were two models not originally included in this list and are devices that were first unveiled in 2023.

So Vivo’s OriginOS 6 update will bring the Android 16 OS. The OriginOS 6 update first arrives on the iQOO 13 and iQOO 12 for iQOO branded phones. All three phones will come with a zoom camera. The Pro Plus will even feature a periscope lens. Finally, they will sport the same design and a curved OLED display.

Realme Narzo 60 Series

The Realme Narzo 60 series is planned to launch in India on July 6. The lineup consists of two handsets, namely Realme Narzo 60 and Realme Narzo 60 Pro.

Both these products are rebranded versions of existing Realme number series smartphones. The vanilla model is a rebadged Realme 11, while the pro variant is a renamed Realme 11 Pro.

It is worth noting that the Realme 11 Pro is already available in India under its original name. However, the standard model is yet to debut in the region. The series is expected to start from ₹17,999 inclusive of offers.

Honor 90

The Honor 90 will be unveiled for global markets on July 6. The global variant of the device is the same as the original Chinese version.

The front design of the iQOO Neo 7 Pro smartphone has been unveiled by Nipun Marya, the CEO of iQOO India. The image released by him reveals that the Neo 7 Pro will have a flat display with a centrally aligned punch-hole. While it has a slightly thick chin, the remaining bezels are quite thin, indicating that it will offer an impressive screen-to-body ratio.

The teaser image also hints that the device may arrive in an orange variant. This is not the first time that the brand has teased said color variant. Earlier this week, the company released an image showcasing the rear design of the iQOO Neo 7 Pro, suggesting it will arrive in an orange option. The image also hinted that it might be a rebranded version of the iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition, previously launched in China in December 2022.

The iQOO Neo 7 Pro is expected to feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz screen. It will have a 16-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel (main, with OS) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera system. The device will run on FunTouch OS 13-based Android 13.

The Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset’s underclocked version is said to power the device. It may arrive with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It will have a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.

The report reveals that the iQOO Neo 7 Pro will launch in India on June 27th. However, the date is tentative and is subject to change. Post-launch, it is tipped to go on sale in early July although the exact date remains unknown. 

The iQOO Neo 7 Pro is expected to be a rebadged version of the iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition. The teaser image shared by the Vivo sub-brand’s India CEO reveals that the phone will come in an Orange color variant. It features a rectangular camera module. 

The report adds that the iQOO Neo 7 Pro will come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display bearing an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will have a center-aligned punch-hole cutout and an integrated fingerprint scanner. The upcoming smartphone is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro unit. There will be a 16MP selfie snapper. 

Under the hood, the iQOO Neo 7 Pro will reportedly be equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. It will be offered in 8GB and 12GB RAM options as well as 128GB and 256GB storage variants. The device is tipped to draw its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 120W fast charging.

Yesterday, we reported on a leak revealing the launch timeline of the iQOO Neo 7 Pro smartphone in India. It is reported that the device could launch around June 20. Now, the price range of the device has also been tipped.

Tipster Paras Guglani has shared some insights regarding the upcoming iQOO Neo series smartphone. According to Guglani, the iQOO Neo 7 Pro will be exclusively available in black color in India. The smartphone is expected to come in a configuration option of 16GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Furthermore, Guglani suggests that the iQOO Neo 7 Pro’s price in India will fall within the range of Rs 38,000 to Rs 42,000. However, it remains unclear whether this pricing applies to the base variant or the specific 16GB + 256GB configuration. Earlier reports have claimed that the iQOO Neo 7 Pro coming to India is essentially a rebrand of the iQOO Neo 8 launched last month in China.

If that turns out to be the case then we can expect the smartphone to come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1260 x 2800 pixels resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 144Hz refresh rate, and up to 1,300 nits of brightness.

Under the hood, the device might feature an underclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. The iQOO Neo 7 Pro is expected to offer generous memory options, with the possibility of up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The iQOO Neo 7 Pro 5G is launching soon in India. Rumors suggest that the iQOO phone with model number I2217, which was previously rumored to have the iQOO Neo 7T 5G marketing name, could be the upcoming Neo 7 Pro. The I2217 device has now appeared on Geekbench 6 to reveal some of its key specifications.

On Geekbench 6, the purported iQOO Neo 7 Pro has appeared with the underclocked Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. Although the name of the SoC is not mentioned directly in the listing, the CPU and GPU details that have emerged reveal that it is powered by the said chipset.

The Geekbench listing reveals that the purported iQOO Neo 7 Pro will arrive with 8 GB of RAM and Android 13 OS with FunTouch OS 13 overlaid. It scored 1572 and 4000 in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench, respectively.

iQOO has introduced two smartphones in China over the past few months, namely the iQOO Neo 8 and iQOO Neo 7 Racing Edition, both powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. It is possible that the Neo 7 Pro is a rebranded variant of either of these two devices.  The device is expected to go official by the end of June in India.

Rumors are rife that the iQOO Neo 7 Pro for India will be equipped with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM, a 5,000mAh battery with 120W charging, and 256 GB of storage. The Neo 7 Pro is likely to be priced between Rs 30,000 (~$363) and Rs 35,000 (~$423) in India.
