Surprisingly, it is another Lenovo model, this time around the Moto models. Meizu has revealed that its developers have concluded works on a Flyme 6 third party ROM that is compatible with the Moto X Style, Moto X Pro which isthe international version of the Nexus 6,. Other compatible models include the Moto X Force, and Moto X 2014 (second gen Moto X).

Meizu only last month hinted that it would be making its Flyme 6 OS available for use on third party smartphones with the OnePlus 3T, ZUK Z2, Nexus 6P and a few others joining the early birds. Although Moto phones come with their own custom UI, the features on the Moto UI isn’t up to that on the Flyme OS. The Flyme OS is outed as one of the best custom ROM around.

On its part, the Flyme 6 comes with a number of cool features which includes a new search feature which allows users to search for answers on the internet via their phone’s camera. All that is needed is to snap the photo of the problem or question and then it gets uploaded up into the cloud (Meizu’s database) automatically. The OS also lets users edit the theme onboard in order to personalize them and the videos in the gallery can be edited and filters added. To learn how to flash the custom Flyme ROM on the supported Moto models, head over to the Flyme forum from the following source link.

List of Motorola Phones getting Nougat

A total of 14 phones (not counting the Nexus 6 as it is already updated) are getting the update which brings a more refined version of android and a bunch of new features. However there’s going to be outrage from Motorola fans as a phone like the Moto E3 Power released last month won’t be getting an update to 7.0. The list also excludes all the other E-Series and even the 3rd Gen Moto G.

Motorola used to be praised for its timely updates and near stock android feature on their phones but lately the former has taken a nose dive. Last year the company failed to update the Moto E 2nd Gen to Marshmallow and this year they also said they won’t be able to release monthly security updates regularly.

READ MORE: iPhone 6 Plus Explodes in Student’s Pocket

The update will start rolling out to the Moto Z and G4 first before the other devices. So if your device is on the list but isn’t the Moto Z or G4, the update may come later than expected.

Now news making the round says that the Moto Z will carry a price tag of 2,998 yuan ($450) while the Moto Z Force will be priced at a whooping 5299 yuan ($800). While these two 2016 flagships are yet to hit the market, Lenovo is said to be working on what could possibly be a 2017 flagship under the Moto Z or Moto X series which hitherto was thought to have become defunct, replaced by the Moto Z, until Lenovo debunked that notion.

The leak was posted on Twitter by @Ricciolo1 who shared a message that the 2017 Moto Z and Moto X flagships from Lenovo will come with enhanced low light imaging capability, less number of pixels (MP) but larger pixel (um) size with high quality lens, Laser autofocus, as well as optical image stabilization (OIS).

2017 #motoz #motox #Lenovo enhanced low light images LOWER MP Bigger μm Quality Lenses Laser AF OIS FIX this!Sorry for being TOO AHEAD !

— Ricciolo (@Ricciolo1) July 16, 2016

The message had a cheeky smiley after which he added; “FIX this! Sorry for being TOO AHEAD”. Now, while we accept this could possibly be a leak on the 2017 Moto X/Moto Z flagships from Lenovo, we must note the added cheeky smiley and the other riddles which seem to suggest some mischief in the mix aimed at coding the entire message. He asked readers to “FIX this”. Fix what, the date? Could it have been 2016 he was talking about? Note that he also apologized for being too ahead. Sure he’s talking about the date and this could possibly be a message about the 2016 Moto X considering that the Moto Z 2016 packs some of these features on the camera lane. Perhaps, the use of the motoz hashtag alongside motox hashtag was to indicate that both will have similar camera features.

The leak also suggests the Moto X / Moto Z, will be manufactured with an optimized camera sensor. The sensor is compared with that found on HTC’s flagships. The HTC 10 flagship sports a 12MP camera with second-generation UltraPixel camera, having an f/1.8 aperture, 1.5 μm pixel sensor with optical image stabilization technology. A larger f/1.8 aperture and larger pixel size will result in improved low light performance. When more light gets through the lens, better quality images will be taken which will be less blurry and feature reduced image noise.

The earlier release of the GFXBench listing of what is thought to be the Moto X flagship indicated that the device will feature a dual rear camera set up with one having 21MP shutter and the other sensor of 13MP. Other specs include a 5.5” Quad HD display, Snapdragon 820 SoC clocked at 2.1GHz, 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM, a 5MP front camera, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

So, could this leak possibly be about the Moto X 2016 flagship or the 2017 Moto Z or Moto X flagships? We don’t know for sure but the answer won’t be very far away with Lenovo expected to unveil new smart phones soon.

A few days back, the Nexus 6 dubbed Moto X Pro in China hit TENAA further confirming its entry into the domestic market. The specs were also leaked at the same time, but pricing was still unsure.

However, we may finally have an idea about Moto X Pro’s retail price, since a major Chinese media website reported earlier today that Motorola could price this flagship around 4299 Yuan. This comes to almost $692, which is an hefty price even for a device with such powerful specs. When the Nexus 6 debuted in US, it went on sale for a slightly lower $649 retail price for the unlocked version. The price is still not 100% fixed, but still it should easily go upwards of 4000 Yuan.

Motorola has big plans for China this year, as the company is all set to release most of its devices in the market. Moto G, Moto X, Moto 360 and even the Moto Hint Bluetooth Earpiece will see a launch in China this year. Motorola has also announced that its famous smartphone customizations service, the Moto Maker will also debut in China soon. This will definitely be a nice addition since it allows users to choose custom back panels and materials for their smartphone.

As for the specs of Moto X Pro, its as powerful as the Nexus 6. So, you get a 6-inch display with 2K resolution, 2.7GHZ quad-core Snapdragon 805, 32GB of expandable storage and 13MP rear camera. The phone will support all the major networks in the country, thanks to its support for GSM, CDMA, TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE, LTE FDD, and WCDMA.

The Moto X Pro is expected to go on sale by March 30, which is just three days away. It will be interesting to see how the Chinese market reacts to the Moto’s powerful handset.

Although nobody has seen what it looks like or what new features it will have, the Motorola XT912A, which has gone through the graphic benchmark test, GFXBench, has already caught attention. Not only does it have a 5.2 inch touch screen and runs on an Android 4.4.3 operating system, but since its model number has appeared in the Moto X prototype, it will probably be called the Moto X+1.

                                                                                   5.2 inch touch screen

According to the results of the GFXBench tests, the Motorola XT912A looks interesting with its 5.2 inch screen and 1080p resolution. It also runs on a Snapdragon 800 chip, with 2GB ram and 32GB memory space. It also has a double lens camera. (The front lens carries 2 MP and can take 1080p videos, while the back camera carries 12MP, has an LED light, supports autofocus, and can take 1080p videos) This device also runs on the new Android 4.4.3 operating system. As for now, they are still said to be fixing a few bugs.

The Moto X+1?

This is not the first Motorola phone to bear the XT912A model number. Before the Moto X was released, this phone was also shown to have this very same model number, but the retail versions was sold under different names (XT1053, XT1055, XT1056, XT105, and XT1060). If they don’t change this number, it can just be considered an upgraded version of the Moto X and called the Moto X+1.
