After weeks of teasers, Poco has finally introduced its latest X-series smartphones, the Poco X8 Pro 5G and the Poco X8 Pro Max 5G. There’s also a themed Poco X8 Pro Iron Man Edition if you’re a Marvel fan. 

As expected of the X-series, the two phones are all about performance. Both are powered by MediaTek Dimensity chipsets with a large battery inside. Poco X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max will go on sale in India starting March 23.

Poco X8 Pro Series Specifications

The standout here is clearly the Poco X8 Pro Max 5G. It comes with a large 9,000mAh battery, which Poco claims can give three days of run time in moderate use. The standard Poco X8 Pro 5G, meanwhile, sticks with a still-large 6,500mAh battery.

Both phones support 100W wired fast charging, along with 27W reverse wired charging. 

The Poco X8 Pro Max 5G features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also reaches up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness and includes high-frequency PWM dimming. 

The Poco X8 Pro 5G gets a slightly smaller 6.59-inch AMOLED panel, but it retains the same refresh rate and similar display characteristics.

Under the hood, the Pro Max model is powered by a 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500s, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The standard Pro uses a Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, built on a 4nm process, with slightly lower storage ceilings.

Both phones also include Poco’s 3D Ice Loop cooling system, though the Pro Max version gets a larger cooling area. It’s a detail that may matter more for sustained gaming or heavy workloads than everyday use.

The Poco X8 Pro 5G starts at Rs. 29,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version, going up to Rs. 32,999 for the 12GB variant. The Iron Man Edition is priced slightly higher at Rs. 34,999 and comes in a single configuration.

For the Poco X8 Pro Max 5G, pricing begins at Rs. 39,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model, while the 512GB version goes up to Rs. 43,999.

The lineup is expected to include the Poco X8 Pro, Poco X8 Pro Max, and a limited Poco X8 Pro Iron Man Edition. Ahead of the launch, a leak has revealed the expected pricing for the Indian market.

According to tipster Paras Guglani, the Poco X8 Pro will start at ₹33,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant. The 12GB + 256GB model is tipped to cost ₹37,999. The Poco X8 Pro Max is expected to arrive in two storage options. The 12GB + 256GB version may be priced at ₹41,999, while the 12GB + 512GB model could cost ₹45,999.

The leak also mentions a possible introductory offer for the base Poco X8 Pro model. Buyers may receive a ₹3,000 discount, which would lower the effective price of the 8GB + 256GB variant. It is not yet confirmed whether this offer will also apply to the higher memory version or the Poco X8 Pro Max models.

The Poco X8 Pro Iron Man Edition is also expected to launch alongside the standard variants. The limited edition device is tipped to carry a price of ₹43,999. With launch offers, the effective price may drop to around ₹40,999. The discount is expected to come through instant bank offers or cashback.

If the leaked pricing turns out to be accurate, the Poco X8 Pro series will launch at a higher price than its predecessor. The phone features a 6.59-inch 1.5K display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3500 nits peak brightness. For photography, the device uses a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with f/1.5 aperture and both optical and electronic image stabilization. It is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera that offers a 120-degree field of view. Both camera modules feature red accent rings.

The camera system supports 4K 60fps video recording, 4K night video, zero delay shutter, and motion capture. AI editing tools include Image Enhancement for clarity, Image Expansion for extending scenes, Magic Eraser Pro for removing objects, and Sky Replacement for changing the sky in photos.

Audio comes from dual 1115F symmetrical stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support. The phone also offers a 400 percent volume boost and a dedicated low-volume nighttime mode.

The Poco X8 Pro Max shares most of these features but comes with a larger 6.83-inch display. It also replaces the Sony IMX882 camera with a 50MP Light Fusion 600 sensor.

It houses an enormous 10,001mAh battery, which is far larger than the capacity typically seen in mainstream smartphones. In addition to battery endurance, the Narzo Power offers competitive hardware for its segment. Poco X8 Pro Max – 9,000mAh

The Poco X8 Pro Max is scheduled to launch globally on March 17. It is expected to become the largest battery phone from Poco so far. Reports suggest that the Indian variant may include a 9,000mAh battery, while the global model could feature a slightly smaller 8,550mAh unit.

The device is believed to be a rebranded version of China’s Redmi Turbo 5 Max, which also packs a 9,000mAh battery. If the specifications remain similar, the X8 Pro Max could offer a strong combination of performance and endurance in the upper mid-range segment.

Poco X8 Pro – 7,560mAh

POCO has launched the POCO C85x 5G in India as its latest budget 5G smartphone. The device joins the company’s C series lineup a few months after the POCO C85, which was introduced in December last year. The new model focuses on a large display, basic performance hardware, and a large battery.

In a new development, the global and Indian versions of the X8 Pro Max have emerged on the Geekbench benchmarking platform.

The global version has scored 2,659 and 8,369 points, respectively in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench 6.5. On the other hand, the Indian version has recorded 2,616 and 8,401 points, respectively. The X8 Pro Max’s Geekbench listings have revealed the Dimensity 9500s performance for the first time. Reports have revealed that the upcoming Oppo Find X9s will also feature the said chipset.

For those who do not know, the Dimensity 9500s is a toned-down version of the existing Dimensity 9500, which was announced in October 2025. The Geekbench listing reveals that the single prime core of the D9500s operates at 3.73GHz. It also includes three cores working at 3.30GHz, four cores running at 2.40GHz, and Mali-G925 Immortalis MC11 graphics.

Being a more powerful offering, the Dimensity 9500 comes with a 1+3+4 architecture but with faster core speeds, such as 4.21GHz, 3.5GHz, and 2.7GHz. For graphics, it has Arm G1-Ultra onboard. When it comes to performance, the Dimensity 9500 can reach around 3,500 and 9,000 to 10,000 in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.

The Poco X8 Pro Max’s Geekbench listing also reveals Android 16 and 12GB RAM. Now that the device has appeared on the benchmarking site, it appears that the brand could be doing final testing before its launch. Some unconfirmed reports suggest that the series may launch on March 26.

The above leak by tipster Smart Pikachu reveals that another sub-brand lineup is aiming higher and may adopt 200-megapixel and periscope cameras. The hashtag used in the leak suggests that it pertains to the Redmi K100 series.

The Redmi K100 series is initially expected to include two models, the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max, as successors to last year’s Redmi K90 Pro and Redmi K90 Pro Max. To recall, the Pro edition features a 50-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 50-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera unit, whereas the Pro Max has a 50-megapixel (main) + 50-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 50-megapixel (periscope telephoto) triple camera setup.

On the other hand, the Poco X8 Pro Max has been listed in two options, such as 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB. These variants are priced at 529.90 euros and 579.90 euros, respectively.

The page seems to have the same set of images for both phones. So, there is a possibility that the phones may sport a nearly identical design and come in the same shades, such as black, white, and mint green. Readers are advised to take the pricing information with a pinch of salt, as the final pricing could be different.

The listing has no information about the Poco X8 Pro series’ specifications. However, rumours suggest that they will be rebranded or tweaked versions of the Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max phones, which recently debuted in China. The phone has now received NBTC approval in Thailand, but the twist is, it’s the special Iron Man Edition. If you remember, Poco X7 Pro special edition is also themed after Iron Man, so the company is continuing the partnership this generation too.

According to the NBTC listing, the new variant carries the model number 2511FPC34G and name, the Poco X8 Pro Iron Man Edition. While certification documents rarely reveal design or hardware changes, the branding alone confirms Poco is planning a themed version alongside the standard model.

The timing also lines up with Poco’s usual release cycle. Poco launched the X7 Pro in January 2025, and the X8 Pro was first certified back in July last year. January is currently rolling around, so we can expect its launch soon. 

As per rumors, the Poco X8 Pro will be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 5, which is expected to debut in China later this month. There’s also talk of a Poco X8 Pro Max, possibly based on a Redmi Turbo 5 Max, which could launch alongside it in some regions.

Readers should note that the BIS listings only show model numbers and do not reveal the final marketing name. The above-mentioned names are based on previously seen IMEI database listings for these model numbers.

The Poco X8 Pro’s global version has also been spotted at EEC (Europe) and SDPPI (Indonesia) certifications, but the X8 Pro Max’s global edition has not appeared yet in any certification database.

Xiaomi is getting ready to quietly retire software support for a large group of its phones in 2026. According to updated timelines from the company, software updates will end for 14 smartphones from all three Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco brands.

The list includes a mix of flagship phones, midrange bestsellers, and budget devices that are still widely used in many markets. Once support ends, these phones will officially be classified as EoL, or end of life. That means no more Android updates, no new HyperOS versions, and no monthly security patches.

Here’s the complete list

Some of the biggest names on the list are the Poco F5 and Poco F5 Pro. Both phones are expected to receive HyperOS 3, which is based on Android 15, but that update will also be their last. After May 9, 2026, the Poco F5 will stop receiving any software updates. 

Xiaomi’s older flagships are also nearing the end. The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro will lose support in March 2026, while the Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro will last a bit longer, until October 13, 2026. The Xiaomi 12 Lite will reach the end of support on July 1, 2026.

On the Redmi side, several budget and midrange phones will be affected. This includes the Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi 12C, Redmi 13C, and entry-level models like the Redmi A2 and A2+. Poco’s X-series isn’t spared either. The Poco X5 and X5 Pro 5G will reach EoL in February 2026.

Once updates stop, these phones will continue to work as usual. Apps won’t suddenly break, and the hardware won’t stop functioning. The bigger issue is security. Without patches, newly discovered vulnerabilities won’t be fixed, which can put personal data at risk over time.

If your Xiaomi, Redmi, or Poco phone appears on this list and you rely on it for sensitive information, upgrading to a newer model before support ends may be the safer choice.

So, let’s take a closer look at the upcoming phones, along with all the details we know so far.

1. Oppo Reno 15 series

Launch date: January 8, 2026

Oppo Reno 15 series will launch in India on January 8, featuring three models: Reno 15, Reno 15 Pro, and Reno 15 Pro Mini. All three models are confirmed to feature Aerospace-Grade Aluminium frames and Oppo’s HoloFusion technology. The latter offers a 3D layered visual effect to the glass back.

The 15 Pro model has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The 15 Pro Mini features a 6.32-inch AMOLED display, while the standard 15 sits in the middle with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display. Both have Gorilla Glass 7i coating. On the same day, Poco will unveil its Poco M8 series in India, featuring two models: Poco M8 5G and Poco M8 Pro 5G. The phones will be sold via Flipkart.

The Poco M8 is confirmed to feature a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset paired with 8GB RAM, achieving over 825,000 points on the AnTuTu V11 benchmark. Sadly, it will come with Android 15-based HyperOS 2, not HyperOS 3, although the brand promises a quicker rollout. On the plus side, Poco guarantees 4 years of OS upgrades, along with 6 years of security updates for the standard M8.

The Poco M8 Pro will reportedly feature a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, a 50MP + 8MP dual rear camera, a 32MP selfie camera, and a 6,500mAh battery with 100W fast wired charging. It may also come with HyperOS 2 software, based on Android 15.

3. OnePlus Turbo 6 series

Launch date: January 8, 2026

OnePlus has also locked in the same date for the launch of its flagship-grade OnePlus Turbo 6 series. However, it will debut in China and will likely launch with a different name for the rest of the world.

The lineup comprises OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V. The former is confirmed to pack a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a 1.5K resolution display with support for a 165Hz refresh rate.

The highlight of the Turbo 6 series is the battery capacity. The Turbo 6 packs a massive 9,000mAh battery, while the Turbo 6V will arrive with a smaller but still powerful 7,000mAh battery.

The OnePlus 6V is confirmed to feature a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor and a 6.8-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate.

The smartphone features a 6.79-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 8,000 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate. At its core is the Dimensity 8500 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The rear camera module features a 50MP primary camera and a 5MP ultrawide camera, along with a 16MP selfie shooter.

Honor Power 2 has been launched in China, where it sells for 2,699 CNY (around Rs. 34,900) for the 12GB + 512GB variant, and goes up to 2,999 CNY (around Rs. 38,700) for the 12GB + 512GB variant. The brand hasn’t confirmed its global availability yet.

5. Realme 16 Pro series

Launch date: January 6, 2026

The Realme 16 Pro series has been launched in India, increasing the brand’s mid-range portfolio with two more devices: Realme 16 Pro 5G and Realme 16 Pro+ 5G.

The 16 Pro has a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, 6500nits peak brightness, and HDR10+ support. The Pro+ model features a slightly larger 6.8-inch screen, while the rest of the display specifications remain largely unchanged. Both phones come with Android 16-based Realme UI 7.0 skin and promise up to three major Android upgrades.

There’s Dimensity 7300 Max powering the Realme 16 Pro, whereas the 16 Pro+ has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. The latter also gets an additional 50MP periscope telephoto camera, in addition to a 200MP primary shooter and an 8MP ultrawide unit. Both phones, however, have the same 50MP selfie camera.

Both smartphones carry the same 7,000mAh battery capacity with support for 80W wired charging and a bypass charging feature. As for the pricing, the Realme 16 Pro starts at Rs. 31,999 and the Realme 16 Pro+ starts at Rs. 39,999.

6. Redmi Note 15 5G

Launch date: January 6, 2026

Alongside the Realme 16 Pro series, Xiaomi also unveiled the more affordable Redmi Note 15 in India, with a starting price of Rs. 22,999. The smartphone features a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3200nits of peak brightness.

The Redmi Note 15 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage, further expandable up to 1TB with a microSD card. Furthermore, it offers a 108MP primary camera on the back, paired with an 8MP ultrawide camera. On the other side, it has a 20MP selfie camera. Additionally, the Note 15 packs a 5,220mAh battery with support for 45W fast wired charging.

In a fresh Flipkart landing page, the Chinese tech giant confirmed some of the internal hardware of the POCO M8. The upcoming budget phone is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, which will be coupled with 8GB of RAM. Although, you can hit 16GB with 8GB of virtual RAM expansion. POCO shared the AnTuTu benchmark scores as well, with the device achieving more than 825,000 points.

Apart from this, the company also confirmed that this model will run on the Android 15 OS based HyperOS 2 custom skin out of the box. Unfortunately, this device doesn’t get the latest HyperOS 3 (Android 16) software, but the brand does promise 4 years of OS updates along with 6 years of security patches. So we can expect the POCO M8 to get the HyperOS 3 update soon after the Indian release.

The Poco M8 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage lists at RUB 26,817 (approximately $340/INR 30,500), while the 512GB variant costs RUB 31,167 ($396/INR 35,500).

The M8 Pro comes with a higher price tag: RUB 36,242 ($460/INR 41,300) for 8GB RAM/256GB storage, and RUB 38,793 ($492/INR 44,200) for 12GB RAM/512GB storage. These figures don’t account for varying international taxes and may differ in other markets.

As per the listings, the standard M8 features a 6.77-inch 120Hz curved AMOLED display powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and Android 15-based HyperOS 2. Camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor, 2MP depth sensor, and 20MP front camera. The device packs a 5,520mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging.

Xiaomi could be expanding HyperOS 3‘s reach to as many as 25 devices before the end of 2025. Based on internal server listings, the company has already finished builds of HyperOS 3 for a wide range of phones and tablets, suggesting imminent launch.

According to tracking data spotted on HyperOSUpdates.com, multiple HyperOS 3 builds are currently marked as “ready to release” on Xiaomi’s servers. The label confirms these updates are not part of an internal test or public beta phase anymore. Instead, they are the final builds that can be pushed to users through a staged rollout at any time.

If the information holds up, Xiaomi could release the update in the remaining week of December.

Xiaomi’s next budget smartphones, under the Redmi and Poco brands, have made their first appearance on certification sites. We’re talking about the Rsdmi A7 Pro and the Poco C81, which will be nearly identical in terms of hardware but are likely headed to different markets.

Both devices have been listed in GSMA IMEI and FCC listings, which reveal most of their core specifications. The IMEI database confirms that the Redmi A7 Pro carries the model number 25128RN17A, while the Poco C81 uses identifier 25128RN17G.

The near-identical naming confirms their close relationship, but what’s even more interesting is that the fact that Redmi is jumping straight from the Redmi A5 to the Redmi A7 Pro. Yes, the company is skipping the Redmi A6 altogether. Poco C81, on the other hand, succeeds Poco C71.

Redmi A7 Pro / Poco C81 Specifications 

The FCC listing also confirms that both phones will feature a large display measuring just under seven inches. It’s an IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop notch, which is about as classic budget-phone design as it gets in 2025.

Under the hood, the Redmi A7 Pro and Poco C81 are expected to run on the Unisoc T7250. It’s a 12nm chip with a mix of performance and efficiency CPU cores, paired with a Mali-G57 GPU. 

Memory options could top out at 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB or 128GB of slower eMMC storage. On the software side, the phones could ship with Android 15 or the lighter Android 15 Go Edition.

One of the more notable details is the battery. Xiaomi is said to be equipping these phones with a 6,000mAh cell. Charging, however, remains modest at 15W over USB-C, and the certification listings suggest that a charger won’t be included in the box.
