<p>Now, a <a href="https://www.gsmarena.com/exclusive_vivo_x80_pro_coming_in_september-news-55520.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GSMArena report</a> citing industry sources reveals that a new X-series device is on its way to launch in September. The report mentions that it won&#8217;t be an iterative upgrade over the existing X80 models. So, we are likely looking at the rumored <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/vivo-x80-pro-plus/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vivo X80 Pro+</a>.</p>
<p>A couple of months back, we <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/06/15/vivo-x80-pro-plus-with-sd8-gen-1-tipped-to-launch-in-october-2022/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that the Vivo X80 Pro+ might debut around the month of October. The device is said to have the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset rather than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC featured in the X80 Pro. For those unaware, the newer Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset is based on TSMC&#8217;s 4nm process and boasts up to 30% energy efficiency over its predecessor. It also runs relatively cooler that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which is known to have numerous thermal management issues.</p>

<p>The device is expected to have a quad-camera array consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 48-megapixel Sony IMX598 sensor, a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor, and a 50-megapixel Samsung JN2 sensor.</p>
<p>According to previous reports, the smartphone will have a 6.8-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 120H refresh rate. It is also anticipated to offer 120W fast charging.</p>

<p>Now, the reliable tipster Yogesh Brar has confirmed the existence of the Vivo X80 Pro Plus stating that the smartphone will debut soon (Via <a href="https://www.mysmartprice.com/gear/vivo-x80-pro-5g-global-launch-timeline-leaked-specifications-exclusive/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MySmartPrice</a>). Going by the information provided by Brar, the X80 Pro Plus will house the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. This chipset will bring a considerable improvement over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the X80 Pro as the new chip is manufactured by TSMC using its 4nm node and boasts up to 30% energy efficiency over its predecessor. The chip will also run relatively cooler than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which has numerous thermal management issues.</p>

<p>Other than that, the tipster has stated that the device could launch in October 2022, but it is not yet confirmed due to the ongoing supply chain issue plaguing industries worldwide. Finer specification details are still under wraps, but going by previous reports, we can expect the smartphone to come with a 6.8-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 120H refresh rate support. It is likely to support 120W fast charging as well.</p>
<p>For optics, the device may carry a quad-camera setup made up of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 48-megapixel Sony IMX598 sensor, a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor, and a 50-megapixel Samsung JN2 sensor. The device will likely come with Zeiss lenses and camera tuning along with gimbal-like stabilization. However, we would like to advise our readers to take these specs with a pinch of salt and stay tuned for more updates on the X80 Pro Plus.</p>

<h4>Design &amp; Display</h4>
<p>In terms of design, both variants, namely Vivo X80 Pro Snapdragon and X80 Pro Dimensity version, are basically the same. They both feature an identically sized screen and camera setup on the rear. On the front, both models have negligible bezels on the sides, but with a slightly noticeable chin and notch. The X80 Pro series also features a center aligned punch hole cutout on the front, while the rear houses a large camera island, which houses a circular module for the image sensors.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-456673 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/001Ytvrtly1h1m4x10hjjj61hc20maqy02.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="562" height="765" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/001Ytvrtly1h1m4x10hjjj61hc20maqy02.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/001Ytvrtly1h1m4x10hjjj61hc20maqy02-220x300.jpg 220w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/001Ytvrtly1h1m4x10hjjj61hc20maqy02-768x1046.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/001Ytvrtly1h1m4x10hjjj61hc20maqy02-752x1024.jpg 752w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/001Ytvrtly1h1m4x10hjjj61hc20maqy02-696x948.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/001Ytvrtly1h1m4x10hjjj61hc20maqy02-1068x1454.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/001Ytvrtly1h1m4x10hjjj61hc20maqy02-308x420.jpg 308w" sizes="(max-width: 562px) 100vw, 562px" /></p>
<p>The X80 Pro series sports a 6.78 inch E5 LTPO AMOLED display that has a 2K resolution along with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1000Hz touch sampling rate, and an in display fingerprint scanner as well. The display has a peak brightness of 1500 nits, comes with HDR support, and also offers 10bit colors. Interestingly, the fingerprint reader has a large area for scanning fingers, and users can also use two fingers to unlock their devices.</p>

The Snapdragon edition packs Qualcomm&#8217;s latest and greatest 4nm <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-1/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Snapdragon 8 Gen 1</a> SoC, which is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. <p>Both models are also powered by a similarly sized 4,700mAh battery pack that supports 80W wired fast charging and even 50W wireless fast charging support. The battery can charge to 50 percent in just 11 minutes and 100 percent in an impressive 34 minutes. For software, the X80 Pro series will run on Android 12 OS based OriginOS Ocean out of the box. Other features include NFC, HiFi audio support, IP68 water, and dust resistance, X-axis linear motor, and dual stereo speakers.</p>
<h4>Camera</h4>
<p>The X80 Pro series features a quad camera setup with a 50 megapixel GNV 1G primary sensor that supports OIS as well. This sensor is paired with a 48 megapixel ultra wide angle lens (IMX598), a 12 megapixel portrait telephoto shooter (IMX663), and an 8 megapixel periscope lens that offers 5x optical zoom and 60x digital zoom. On the front, the device has a 32 megapixel selfie shooter.</p>

<p>Notably, both models come with the company&#8217;s proprietary V1+ ISP chip (Image Signal Processor) to enhance the photography experience along with Zeiss lenses as well. During the launch event, the Chinese brand showcased a number of camera features, but one of the most interesting ones was the new Cinematic mode.</p>

While Vivo on the Internet appears to shush about the release date, a poster of the X80 series was spotted at offline stores in China.</p>
<p>The Vivo X80 teaser poster is already live in China. The smartphone&#8217;s rear design can be seen on the poster. The phone&#8217;s much-rumoured ZEISS branded quad-camera system is also visible. This time around, the camera island on the phone is circular as opposed to the predecessor&#8217;s vertically positioned rectangular camera island.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-455044 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-Pro-4.jpg?x10805" alt="Vivo X80 Pro" width="1080" height="2400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-Pro-4.jpg 1080w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-Pro-4-135x300.jpg 135w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-Pro-4-768x1707.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-Pro-4-461x1024.jpg 461w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-Pro-4-696x1547.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-Pro-4-1068x2373.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-Pro-4-189x420.jpg 189w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></p>
<p>In addition to the cameras, the poster confirms the presence of Vivo V1+ ISP on the phone. This is probably the improved version of the V1 chip that we saw in last year&#8217;s <a href="https://gizmobo.com/product/vivo-x70/">Vivo X70</a>. Moreover, the phone&#8217;s<a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-1"> 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC</a> has also been confirmed by the poster. As per leaks, this chip will be powered by the X80 Pro+.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-454562 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-series-Dimensity-9000-SoC-leaked.png?x10805" alt="Vivo" width="705" height="402" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-series-Dimensity-9000-SoC-leaked.png 705w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-series-Dimensity-9000-SoC-leaked-300x171.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Vivo-X80-series-Dimensity-9000-SoC-leaked-696x397.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 705px) 100vw, 705px" /></p>
<p>Previously, we had reported on a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/04/06/vivo-x80-pro-plus-with-snapdragon-8-gen-1-soc-appears-on-geekbench/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Geekbench listing</a> on a smartphone that carried the model number V2145. This handset was believed to be the Vivo X80 Pro+ model, which featured <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-1/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Snapdragon 8 Gen 1</a> SoC on the benchmarking platform. But now, known Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the lineup will be powered by MediaTek&#8217;s latest and greatest <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-9000/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Dimensity 9000</a> processors.</p>
<p>As of right now, it is unclear if the top end X80 Pro+ model will be the sole version to feature the flagship Qualcomm chipset. However, the tipster also shared an image on the Chinese microblogging website that showcased the device running on Dimensity 9000 SoC alongside a custom made image processing chip as well. This imaging chip was reportedly developed in house and is a flagship grade custom image chip that will enhance the photography experience on the upcoming smartphones.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-454561 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/006BlblIly1h17vi8oo2uj31k214b482.jpg?x10805" alt="Vivo" width="2000" height="1438" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/006BlblIly1h17vi8oo2uj31k214b482.jpg 2000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/006BlblIly1h17vi8oo2uj31k214b482-300x216.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/006BlblIly1h17vi8oo2uj31k214b482-768x552.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/006BlblIly1h17vi8oo2uj31k214b482-1024x736.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/006BlblIly1h17vi8oo2uj31k214b482-696x500.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/006BlblIly1h17vi8oo2uj31k214b482-1068x768.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/006BlblIly1h17vi8oo2uj31k214b482-584x420.jpg 584w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/006BlblIly1h17vi8oo2uj31k214b482-1920x1380.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2000px) 100vw, 2000px" /></p>
<p>Digital Chat Station added that this custom chip will improve the amount of light that reaches the sensor by a significant amount. Furthermore, he believes that the Vivo X80 Pro series will have a proprietary ISP + RGBW sensor with a large f/1.57 aperture. Unfortunately, this is all the information he shared regarding this device at the moment. But keep in mind that this is still an unconfirmed report, so take it with a pinch of salt for now and stick around for more updates.</p>

<p>According to a <a href="https://www.91mobiles.com/hub/vivo-x80-series-india-launch-timeline-exclusive/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>91Mobiles</em> </a>report, sources close to the matter have revealed that the Chinese smartphone brand is planning an early 2022 launch for the X80 series in India. The new smartphone lineup is expected to launch sometime in late January or early February 2022. Additionally, the sources also claimed that the X80 will be available in two variants. Since the X70 series launched in an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x70-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">X70 Pro</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-x70-pro-plus/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">X70 Pro+</a> variant, we can also expect an X80 Pro and X80 Pro+ versions as well.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, the sources did not reveal any finer details regarding these two smartphones. Although, a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/10/14/purported-vivo-x80-to-have-a-120hz-screen-and-dimensity-2000-soc/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">recent report</a> had shared some key details about the base model of the X80. The entry model will feature a 120Hz FHD+ display with a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mediatek-dimensity-2000/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MediaTek Dimensity 2000</a> chipset, which is based on a 4nm process. This version will also ship with Android 11 OS and feature a 50 megapixel primary camera with 5 axis stabilization, alongside a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom.</p>
