Vivo had initially planned to start with the testing of beta version of FunTouch OS 10 based Android 10 upgrade in February. However, the update was delayed due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak. On Feb. 17, the company had confirmed that it will soon share a detailed upgrade plan. The Chinese firm is back with a revised Android 10 update schedule for the Chinese market.

The public beta of Android 10 OS featuring the latest FunTouch OS 10 which was made official in December 2019 will be first made available to the users of Vivo NEX 3 and Vivo NEX 3 5G on March 14. The first 4,000 users who register for it will be provided with the public beta. Vivo had launched the Vivo X30 and X30 Pro phones in China with FunTouch OS 10 based Android 9 Pie. The revised Android 10 roll out does not mention when the X30 series will get the Android 10 update.

The Vivo X27, X27 (8 GB + 128 GB model), X27 Pro users will be receiving the public beta by early March. The owners of Vivo NEX S, NEX A, NEX-A with in-screen fingerprint sensor and NEX Dual Display will be treated by early April.

The Vivo S5 will get the update by mid-April. The end of April will see the update hitting handsets like Vivo Z5, Z5i, Z5x, S1 and S1 Pro. The update will be coming to other smartphones like Vivo Z3, Z3i and X23 by late June.

The above mentioned devices are the only smartphones from Vivo that will be blessed with FunTouch OS 10 based Android 10. The arrival of Android 10 update for users of Vivo phones in international markets is likely to happen once the Chinese models are treated with the update.

The Vivo Z3 is the most powerful of Vivo‘s new Z-series which debuted this year. The phone comes in two main variants – one powered by the Snapdragon 670 and another powered by the Snapdragon 710 mobile platform.

Vivo has released a new set of official photos of the phone for the holidays that it hopes will convince you to pick one up as a last minute gift or even as a new phone for yourself to begin the new year.

The photos which have a holiday theme are of the Starry Night and Aurora Blue color variants. The photos highlight the phone’s gorgeous water-drop display and curved back.

The Vivo Z3 has a 6.3-inch 1080 x 2280 19:9 display. The Snapdragon 710 version comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage while the Snapdragon 670 version has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. A dedicated MicroSD card slot will allow you to add up to an extra 256GB of storage.

The Vivo Z3, which is the successor of the Vivo Z1, was announced back in early October. However, sales of the upper-midrange handset kicked off on November 1st with the company offering two CPU variants – a Snapdragon 670-toting version and a more powerful Snapdragon 710 version. Around ten days after the sales kicked off, the smartphone maker has announced today that sales have exceeded 300,000 units. The announcement comes at a time when 11/11 Singles day has kicked off in China and Xiaomi has recorded sales worth $575 million.

The Vivo Z3 comes in a 4 GB RAM + 64 GB Storage that costs 1,598 Yuan (~$230). This is the only version that features the Snapdragon 670 SoC. The other two that boast a Snapdragon 710 SoC are – 6 GB RAM + 64 GB Storage that retails for 1,898 Yuan (~$274) and a 6 GB RAM + 128 GB Storage that sells for 1,898 Yuan (~$274).

As a quick recap, the Vivo Z3 packs a lot of punch for the price at which it is offered in the country. It’s highlighted features include a dedicated gaming mode with 4D game shock, DND, P-i-P, and Vivo’s Dual-Turbo engine which is the equivalent of Huawei’s GPU Turbo. Furthermore, it is packed with Jovi AI assistant and IR face unlock that works in low-light conditions. In the previous week, Vivo had launched the Vivo V11 smartphone as Vivo Z3i smartphone in China. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has announced the more powerful Vivo Z3 smartphone as the successor for the Vivo Z1 phone that was unveiled in May this year.

Vivo Z3 Specifications and Features

The Vivo Z3 boasts a premium appeal with glass panels on its front and rear and a metallic frame in between. The handset measures 155.97 x 75.63 x  8.1mm. It houses a 6.3-inch IPS LCD screen with waterdrop notch. The display supports Full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The smartphone offers a screen space of 90.3 percent.

The Vivo Z1 featured the Snapdragon 660 chipset. Its successor has arrived in two CPU variants. The base model of the Vivo Z3 features Snapdragon 670 whereas its two higher variants are fueled by Snapdragon 710 chipset. It comes with up to 6 GB of RAM and an inbuilt storage of up to 128 GB. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot on the device.

The FunTouch OS 4.5 flavored Android 8.1 Oreo OS is available preinstalled on the Vivo Z3. The Chinese manufacturer has included Jovi AI assistant on the phone. For optimized performance, the Vivo Z3 is equipped with Dual-Turbo engine that accelerates the performance of the device while accessing system apps and games. The Z3 phone also promises smooth gaming experience as it comes with a dedicated gaming mode with DND. Other gaming related features available on the smartphone are Picture-in-Picture mode, game keyboard and 4D game shock.

In terms of photography, the Vivo Z3 has 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel AI smart dual camera. The waterdrop notch houses the 12-megapixel selfie camera. The handset is packed with AI-based photography features like scene detection, bokeh shots and low-light photography.

The presence of IR camera allows the phone to support face unlock even in dim-light conditions. The handset is also equipped with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Vivo Z3 launches tomorrow but we don’t have to wait till then to know how much it will cost. Pricing for the phone has been revealed on the website of China’s Bank of Communications along with some other details.

The website confirms the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon processor, have a 6.3-inch display with a water-drop screen, infrared face unlock, and its proprietary dual turbo technology which boosts system performance and gaming performance.

Based on the info on the site, the Vivo Z3 will be priced at ¥1598 (~$231) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB version and ¥1898 (~$275) for the 6GB RAM + 64GB variant. Apparently, buyers will also be able to pay in installments – ¥133.17 (~$19) for the 4GB version and ¥158.17 (~$23) for the 6GB version over a 12-month period.

The Vivo Z3 itself also appears on the site. It will have dual rear cameras, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and come in three color variants – two with a gradient finish and a third variant that is pink.

Vivo has released a new launch poster on its Weibo account to confirm that it will be launching the Vivo Z3 smartphone in China on Oct. 17. The handset is already up for reservations on TMall. The Vivo Z3 reservations page on TMall only confirms the name of the smartphone but does not contain any information on its specs.

The launch poster that confirms the October 17 arrival date for the Vivo Z3 reveals that it will be fueled by Snapdragon 710 chipset. The handset will be also equipped with Dual Turbo technology that was first introduced on the Vivo X23 phone few months ago. The Dual Turbo technology comprises of two things, namely System Turbo and Game Turbo. The former enhances the system performance to load apps faster whereas the latter is responsible for assigning more resources for stutter-free gaming experience.

As far as other specs of the Vivo Z3 are concerned, it is expected to feature a waterdrop notch display of 6.3 inches that may carry support for Full HD+ pixels resolution. The Snapdragon 710 SoC of the phone could be coupled with 4 GB of RAM. It may feature an internal storage of 64 GB. The handset may include a 3,240mAh battery.

A new Vivo phone has made its way to TENAA and has gotten certified ahead of its official release. The phone has model number V1813BA which is similar to that of the Vivo Z3i (V1813A) which leaked today. There is a possibility that this is the Vivo Z3 or at least a device related to the Vivo Z3i.

The phone has a 6.3-inch display with a 2280 x 1080 resolution. That resolution is the same as that of the Redmi Note 6 Pro which means it has a notch though not the water-drop type of the Z3i.

The Vivo V1813BA is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It has support for storage expansion, allowing you add up to an additional 256GB of space. There are dual cameras on its rear – 16MP + 2MP and a 12MP sensor in front for selfies and video calls.

The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo, has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and packs a 3240mAh battery. TENAA says the phone supports fast-charging and will be available in Champagne Gold, Rose Gold, and Matte Black. Images provided are of a blue-black gradient variant.

It has vertically arranged rear cameras which have a gold accent around them just like the fingerprint scanner. We don’t think the back is made of glass, probably an NCVM coating. The buttons are on the right side of the phone which means the SIM tray is on the left.

The Vivo V1813BA should launch soon since it has gotten its TENAA certification.
