These numbers have been constituted via the sales gathered at different e-retailers such as Alibaba, Aliexpress, Gearbest and their online store. As per the report, the Chinese electronics maker has made over 4 billion yuan sales ($575 million) in a single day. Many other companies have participated in the 11.11 sale event and generated huge sales.

Majorly, Xiaomi sold products such as mobile devices constituting Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, Mi 8, Mi 8 Pro and other budget-friendly devices. In the home products category, Xiaomi managed to get a good number of sales for Xiaomi Mijia air purifies, Mi Band 3 and all generation Vaccum cleaner, travelling suitcase and Xiaomi scooter.

As per another report, Alibaba has managed to garner sales worth $10 billion in just 1 hour. Major companies that benefitted from the sale event are Apple and Xiaomi. This year, Alibaba got huge orders from Los Angeles, Frankfurt, Tokyo and many other major cities around the world. Even, Alibaba has 180,000 brands listed for the shoppers to choose from during the 24-hour shopping spree.

Asides that, the Chinese manufacturer has another reason to be excited.

An insider @Kevin King’s diary revealed that last month Xiaomi sold 6.3 million smartphones. The info was revealed in a Weibo post yesterday . The post goes on to state that Xiaomi is restructuring its phone business.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun had said earlier this month that they had discussed restructuring the phone business at the first general meeting after the 7th anniversary celebration. The focus this year will be on three key things: innovation – working on breakthroughs in core technologies; quality – products that have a quality higher than that of competitors; and delivery – finding a solution to its recurring supply issues.

READ MORE: Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Leaks in New Render Image: Shows Redesigned back & USB Type-C Port

Delivery is a big issue for Xiaomi. Last year, the Chinese manufacturer suffered a decline in sales partly caused by supply issues. Looking at the sales recorded in March, it seems things are improving already. The target for this year is to ship 70 million phones, if they continue with this figure, they are bound to exceed their target.

An IDC report showed that Xiaomi managed to ship only 41.5 million phones last year, a 36% reduction from 2015’s 64.8 million units.

One of the biggest problems with Xiaomi was not product quality or even specifications, rather it was the unavailability of its devices in the market. The company used to unveil great smartphones but once launched, the phone was hard to get, since the stock never seemed to be enough. As a result, the company has been severely criticized for its ready stock availability and we have seen competitors like OPPO and Vivo beating Xiaomi in terms of the shipments sold during the first quarter of 2016.

This was indeed a worrisome issue for the company as well as fans, which is why Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi took it personally upon himself to head the supply department of the company. Looks like, that was a brilliant move, since Xiaomi is now said to be doing quite well in terms of smartphone shipments.

Earlier today, the secretary of the Chinese smartphone alliance revealed on Weibo that Xiaomi’s shipments have improved. In fact, the company seems to be shipping around 6 million smartphones every month in the second quarter of 2016. This is finally great news considering that fans can purchase Xiaomi’s smartphones right after its announcement. Well, at least the Redmi 3S was up for purchase after its announcement, and to be honest, it sold pretty well during JD.com’s grand sale. Even Xiaomi Mi5 is now available for open purchase.

RELATED: Xiaomi Redmi 4 Rumored to come with Helio X20

Given that Xiaomi has finally managed to stabilize its shipments, we can expect the upcoming beasts — Xiaomi Mi5S and the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 to be in stock after the announcement. I don’t think Xiaomi can afford to make the same mistake as it did with the Mi5 earlier this year, which did hurt the company in terms of sales. So, when these two powerful flagships are announced sometime later in 2016, we can hope that the company readies a very good amount of stock to satisfy the demand from its fans.

So, unlike some other reports which gives us the shipment numbers, this is the actual number of units sold to end customers, which should give us a better picture of the market standings.

There are a few changes in the top smartphone vendors in the first quarter of this year, and it is not surprising that three Chinese smartphone manufacturers have got into the top 5 list, clearly showing their dominance in the market. Huawei, Xiaomi and OPPO have made it to the list for first quarter, but what’s really surprising is that OPPO is now above Xiaomi in terms of smartphone sales worldwide.

According to the new report, OPPO now sits in the fourth position in terms to total smartphone sales in Q1 2016. The company sold 16,112,600 smartphones in the earlier quarter, which is comfortably higher than Xiaomi’s 15,048,000 units sold in the same time period. What’s really impressive is the company’s growth rate. Last year, in the same time period, OPPO had sold just 6,585,100 phones, which means this year it marked a growth of a staggering 144.6%! At a time, when smartphone vendors are struggling to increase sales and market share, this is a tremendous achievement.

RELATED: OPPO R9’s Production Volume Almost Three Times As Xiaomi Mi 5

On the other hand, Xiaomi’s growth has remained relatively stagnant. It managed to increase smartphone sales by just 2% as compared to the same quarter last year. This is the main reason why OPPO could overtake Xiaomi in the previous quarter.

The report also reveals that Huawei did pretty well in the first quarter of this year. With a market share of 8.3%, this Chinese giant is comfortably ahead of OPPO and Xiaomi. It sold 28,861,000 smartphones in the first quarter, which is much higher than what it sold in Q1 2015. The company is slowly reducing its gap with Apple and it looks like Huawei is on the path (although still a few years away) of reaching the top.

Interesting: Xiaomi CEO Takes Charge Of The Company’s Smartphone Supply

In case you remember, Huawei CEO, Richard Yu had revealed that the company aims to overtake both Apple and Samsung in the next five years, and if it manages to sustain such high growth, this doesn’t look so impossible now. But despite its growth at this level, there’s still a long way to go, since Samsung sold a good 81,186,900 units in the first quarter, which is nearly three times of what Huawei sold in the same period.

Another interesting piece of information revealed by the report is the increasing gap between Android and iOS. Android’s market share grew from 78.8% in Q1 2015 to 84.1% in Q1 2016. On the other hand, iOS lost its market share in the past one year, going down from 17.9% to 14.8%. Windows, Blackberry and other operating systems hardly get 1% share of the market all together. Clearly shows the dominance of Android, and Apple to a certain extent.

The company was founded on April 6, 2010 and we all know where it has managed to reach in the past six years. The company now operates in a number of markets, two of them being the world’s top smartphone markets, India and China. Thanks to its aggressive pricing and customer oriented approach, Xiaomi has managed to gather fan following in millions.

Like tradition, this year as well, Xiaomi had the Mi Fan festival and the numbers are impressive than ever before. The company managed to break previous records by generating a revenue of 1.87 billion Yuan which is nearly $289 million. In comparison, last year, the company managed to make 1.25 billion Yuan in revenue, so this year is definitely a level up. The company saw over 46.83 million participants during the sale period.

Simultaneously, Xiaomi also had the Mi Fan festival in India, wherein the company managed to sell over 100,000 smartphones and accessories. Yesterday being the major sale day for the company, its website saw over 1.2 million unique visitors in one day. The company had a lot of devices up for sale during the festival period, which includes new products like the Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro, Redmi 3 Pro, Induction Cooker, Mi Water Purifier and Mi TV 3S. All these products were announced a couple of weeks back in China.

In the past couple of years, Xiaomi has managed to diversify its porfolio of products by investing in a number of different companies and startups. This has led to the birth of many Xiaomi branded products other than the core business that comes under the new Mi ecosystem brand called as Mijia.

So how many Xiaomi products do you own?

For a company which started selling smartphones in India just last year, it has made tremendous progress in the country. Now, Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi while talking to WSJ revealed that the company aims to be the top smartphone brand in India in the coming three years. This means, the company will have to overtake the likes of Samsung and Micromax who currently dominate India’s market.

Xiaomi has used the same business model that worked wonders for the company back in China. Lei Jun adds that the company aims to prove that their model works overseas as well, at least in one market. He further said that online models don’t work everywhere. The company has to be a highly influential player in the country or region in order to monetize. Given the immense size of India’s population, an online model should help the company monetize in various ways once they get a significant part of the market share.

Of course, the road to the top won’t be easy, especially since a lot of new Chinese smartphone makers have entered the country in the past few months. This should further intensify the competition in the budget and mid-range segment making this target even more challenging.

Reaching the top in this highly competitive market won’t be easy, so we will have to wait and see what Xiaomi does to achieve its goal within the next three years.

Looks like, the strategy is working for the company as it sold over 34.7 million handsets in the first half of 2015. This marks an impressive 33% increase as compared to last year’s first half sales.

While we can say that the company’s growth rate may have slowed down a bit, these figures are impressive because, for the first time, Chinese smartphone market slowed down this year. So, even in this slow market, Xiaomi managed to post good figures.

Kevin Yang, an analysts of IHS Technology further adds that these figures are the actual devices sold to the consumers. He also says that Xiaomi managed to sell about 19.72 million handsets in the Q2 2015, taking the total to the above mentioned 34.70 million. Despite the increase in competition from new flagships from Huawei and Meizu, he expects the performance in the second half of 2015 to be the most crucial.

Xiaomi had earlier told us that it aims to sell a lot more handsets this year, around 80 million to 100 million. If it were to reach anywhere near this figure, the company will have to sell at least 45 million handsets in the second half of 2015.

To be honest, this looks possible, given the fact that we will soon see multiple smartphone releases from the company like the new Xiaomi Mi5, Redmi Note 2 (possibly two variants) and even the Snapdragon 820 powered Xiaomi Mi5 Plus.

Anyways, lets see if the company manages to reach its goal of 80 million in the second half, especially with the increased competition from domestic manufacturers.

Xiaomi is breaking all records today. The company reports that it has sold just over 1.57 billion Yuan worth of goods till now. That’s highly impressive given that the company managed to reach this figure in just 6 hours. What’s more, we have nearly 6 more hours until the sale ends and by the end of the day, this figure will have probably doubled ! That’s nearly 3 billion worth of goods that could be sold in a day’s time.

The company has also shared the individual shipments sold. 1.6 million Xiaomi smartphones were sold today, 32,000 Xiaomi tvs, and 510,000 smart home products. The total values of accessories sold exceed 130 million Yuan.
These figures are expected to increase and even nearly double by the end of the day, but lets wait for official data.
Anyways, whats do you think of the amount of sales made today? Are you impressed?

The announcement was made by the company’s CEO, Lei Jun, on the Xiaomi official Chinese blog who also said that the next five years will be very crucial to Xiaomi and that the competition in the next five years will be fierce due to the growth of local and foreign competitors as well as the entry of new players in the industry.

Xiaomi’s shipped almost 70 million units last year which means the company sold over 30 million units within the first three months of the current year to exceed its 100 million sales goal. The company has also said that their sales numbers would actually be higher if not for capacity or availability issues.

The company’s latest flagship devices, the Mi Note and Note Pro, which were announce last January are also expected to sell very well with their top-of-the-line features and specifications partnered with very competitive price tags which is Xiaomi’s signature style.
Yesterday, we reported that Xiaomi had no plans for an electric vehicle in the near future. Lei Jun had made that clear at the Yabuli China Entrepreneurs Forum Fifteenth Annual Meeting yesterday. During the same event, he also revealed some key stats about the company and gave us an idea as to what the company is planning for this year.

He revealed that Xiaomi manufactured 61.2 million smartphones in 2014 alone and generated about 74.3 billion Yuan in sales. The company’s sales figures have been growing pretty fast since 2012.

In 2012, Xiaomi’s sales were around 12.6 billion, in 2013 it rose to an impressive 32.6 billion and finally in 2014, the sales more than doubled to reach 74.3 billion Yuan. Naturally, with such high sales, the sales tax too is said to be around 100 million Yuan in a year.

With the current growth in sales and shipments, its very likely that Xiaomi will reach at least 100 billion Yuan in sales this year. Previous stats have shown that the figures have more than doubled and if it continues the same rate, the sales could be anywhere around 150 billion. Moreover, Xiaomi has confirmed that it has plans to expand into newer emerging markets such as Brazil and Russia, which will definitively boost shipments and sales. Also, the total shipments could go well over 80 million this year.

So, do you think Xaiomi will exceed the 150 billion Yuan mark in sales this year? Or will the company slow down after registering impressive growth in the past two years?
