Remember when Google Glass came out and wasn’t exactly a hit? Well, maybe it wasn’t the right time for the technology to hit the markets, but times are changing. As more refined iterations of products such as Oppo’s Glasses keep hitting the market, more customer input can help these devices get better. Until then, let’s see how Oppo’s Air Glass 3 XR fares in a somewhat competitive market.

With gaming phones slowly becoming more mainstream day by day, Infinix is coming forward with its prototype cooling technology named CoolMax, aimed at keeping gaming phones chill even under the stress of heavy use.
Coolmax reduced the chipset’s temperature by a significant 10 degrees Celsius
Integrated into a concept gaming device, CoolMax has shown impressive results by reducing the chipset‘s temperature by a notable 10°C. It’s an internal system pairing a thermo-electric cooler with a fan, directly over the chipset, separated only by thermal paste—this setup bypasses the inefficiency of external coolers.
The heart of the prototype is MediaTek‘s Dimensity 9300 processor, boasting four powerhouse Cortex-X4 cores, leading the device to achieve a groundbreaking AnTuTu benchmark score of over 2.2 million. This feat is supported by an AI platform that smartly distributes tasks across the CPU cores, ensuring optimal performance. However, keep in mind that the device is a prototype and these numbers are not based on real-world scenarios.
Unlike other gaming phones that rely solely on air cooling, CoolMax’s Peltier effect introduces a cooler module that drops temperatures beyond what simple air circulation can achieve. This means that gamers can expect better performance without the device overheating.
In addition to groundbreaking cooling, the concept phone touts a Pixelworks visual processor to assist the GPU, promising display refresh rates up to 180Hz for FHD+ and 144Hz for QHD+ resolutions, setting a new standard for gaming displays. While Infinix plans to launch a gaming phone later in 2024, the specifics are still under wraps, but expectations are high given the potential seen in this concept.

Unveiled at MWC 2024, Lenovo’s ThinkPad X12 Detachable Gen 2 aims to build upon the success of its predecessor with upgraded internals and AI features. The new iteration retains the familiar detachable design, allowing users to switch between laptop and tablet modes with ease.
Microsoft’s Copilot also has a dedicated AI key for easy access
The most significant upgrade lies in the processor. The Gen 2 ditches the previous generation Intel chips in favor of the latest Core Ultra processors, promising improved performance for demanding tasks. Additionally, Microsoft’s Copilot, an AI assistant, makes its way to the ThinkPad X12 Detachable Gen 2 with a dedicated key for easy access. This integration aligns with Microsoft’s plans to include a Copilot button in future Windows laptops.
While the press release doesn’t reveal any significant design changes, the Gen 2 is expected to retain the comfortable backlit keyboard, split trackpad, and the red TrackPoint nub. These features, combined with the included magnetic stylus, aim to offer a versatile user experience for both typing and note-taking.
Interestingly, the inclusion of the dedicated Copilot button in the Gen 2 hints at a similar feature potentially coming to the next Surface Pro. This development could further blur the lines between the two devices, leaving aesthetics as the only potential differentiator for consumers.
The ThinkPad X12 Detachable Gen 2 is expected to launch in April 2024, starting at $1,399. While the new features suggest a potential leap forward, it remains to be seen how the device performs against rivals like the Surface Pro in real-world scenarios. Lenovo also showcased the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 at MWC 2024.
In the first quarter of 2023, Honor was the only Chinese brand to witness increased market share outside mainland China. Almost a year later, the brand has now revealed how much growth it saw throughout the year.
At the same time, the company also disclosed its growth forecast for 2024. It has even set an ambitious target for the coming years.
Honor Magic 6 Pro
Followed by new product announcements at MWC 2024, Honor held a discussion with the media to which GizmoChina was invited. During this interaction, the company’s CEO George Zhao revealed some interesting tidbits.
He disclosed that Honor’s smartphone sales grew more than 200% in the EU in 2023. The brand predicts 100% growth in 2024.
The executive said that the company will utilize AI technology to drive growth. He claims that the intent-based UI found in MagicOS 8.0 is the future.
Further, Honor’s partnership with Meta and Google will bring on-device AI models. The brand’s latest Magic 6 Pro premium slab smartphone already has a working demo of Meta’s Llama 2 LLM (Large Language Model).
Most importantly, Honor aims to increase its global phone sales to over 50% of its total sales in the next 3 years. Currently, this figure sits at 20%.
Mr. Zhao did not reveal how the company plans to achieve this. We believe the brand may double down on its presence in key markets like LATAM (Latin America) and MEA (Middle East and Africa) with affordable X series handsets and mid-range number series phones.
Finally, Honor also wants to compete with Apple and Samsung in the premium segment. This is no surprise as the company is acting as a replacement for its former parent Huawei in global markets. We can clearly notice this in its innovation-driven premium Magic series handsets with their lavish pricing.

Originally rumored for a 2024 release, Nintendo‘s next-gen console, the Switch 2, is reportedly facing a delay until March 2025, according to a new report from Japanese publication Nikkei. This is consistent with a report that emerged two weeks prior, indicating the same launch timeframe.
To Combat Scalping and Ensure Ample Launch Stock
This shift in the release window is believed to be part of Nintendo’s strategy to ensure a smooth launch with ample stock and a robust lineup of games, avoiding the scalping issues that plagued the original Switch’s launch in 2017.
The March 2025 timeframe aligns with the original Switch’s March 2017 launch, potentially indicating a familiar launch strategy for Nintendo. This earlier timeframe within 2025 also falls within Nintendo’s current fiscal year, potentially alleviating financial concerns.
While details remain scarce, reports suggest the Switch 2 will boast a larger screen, backward compatibility with existing Switch games, and improved performance targeting smooth 1080p gameplay, comparable to the Xbox Series S. Additionally, rumors hint at ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction support, although official confirmation is still awaited.
The delay provides developers with additional time to polish launch titles. One potential flagship title being mentioned is Metroid Prime 4, originally announced in 2017 but facing a development restart in 2019. With its prolonged development cycle, speculation suggests it could be a launch title for the Switch 2.
With the original Switch becoming Nintendo’s best-selling console, surpassing its competitors, the Switch 2 faces high expectations. Fans are eager to see how Nintendo builds upon the Switch’s legacy, particularly in terms of addressing the initial stock shortages and subsequent scalping issues. The reported March 2025 launch window suggests a focus on a well-prepared and potentially smoother launch experience for gamers.
