Samsung is rolling out the latest version of Android for another one of its F series smartphone models. The company released the Android 14 OS based One UI 6 update for the Galaxy F34 earlier this month, and now, the Galaxy F54 5G has also received the major update.

The device will feature a 13MP rear camera and will be equipped with 8 speakers. It will be backed by an 8,300mAh battery with support for 33W charging.

Xiaomi investigates the spontaneous unlocking of its Smart Door Lock, ensures its reliability

Xiaomi has responded to user concerns regarding its Smart Door Lock, following reports of unexpected door openings. A user recently shared a concerning experience, stating that the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock would mysteriously open, even in the middle of the night. The incident gained attention on Weibo and initiated discussions about the device’s safety.

In response, a spokesperson for Xiaomi posted on Weibo, explaining that after thorough verification, the products featured in the videos utilize semi-automatic lock bodies with in-line C-level lock cylinders. Importantly, these models lack the automatic retraction function of the lock tongue, ruling out the possibility of spontaneous openings. Xiaomi emphasized that the smart door lock does not support network remote unlocking, further enhancing security features.

The spokesperson clarified that in cases where the door is not fully closed or the door frame has a larger installation tolerance, there might be a theoretical chance of an “accidental automatic door opening.” To address user concerns, Xiaomi’s after-sales engineers conducted a comprehensive inspection, but the reported situation was not replicated during testing.

To ensure transparency and reassure the public, Xiaomi announced its intention to invite a third-party appraisal agency to conduct qualification tests on the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock. This move aligns with Xiaomi’s commitment to prioritizing user safety and security.

Huawei is gearing up to unveil its newest smartphone lineup, the Nova 12 series, on December 26th. Leaks suggest the series will span four models: the Nova 12, Nova 12 Pro, Nova 12 Ultra, and Nova 12 Lite (Vitality Edition). Before the launch, the specifications, configurations, and prices of all these four devices have emerged on Weibo.

As per the leak, the Huawei Nova 12 will flaunt a flat-screen shielded by Huawei’s Kunlun glass for enhanced durability. Around the back, it’s said to sport an OV50E main sensor with a macro lens, and the device may be powered by either the Kirin 830 or Kirin 9000s processor.

A 4500mAh battery will keep the lights on with 66W fast charging. Price tags for the 12/256GB and 12/512GB versions are speculated around 2,999 yuan and 3,499 yuan respectively.

The Pro variant is rumored to have a curved display shielded by 2nd gen Kunlun glass. Its camera setup might mirror the Nova 12 but with an upgraded OV50H main sensor.

The phone could also share the same 4500mAh battery as the base model but will boast 100W fast charging. As for the price, the 12/256GB variant of Nova 12 Pro is expected to cost 3999 yuan while the 12/512GB variant will have a price tag of 4499 yuan.

The Nova 12 Ultra is expected to be the top-tier model in the lineup. The leak suggests that the Ultra model may share many similarities with the Pro, including the 2nd gen Kunlun glass protection and 100W charging.

For budget-conscious users, there’s also a Lite (Vitality) model in the Nova 12 series. Reportedly, it offers a Snapdragon 778G 4G processor, a 4500mAh battery with 66W charging, and an IMX766 main camera with a wide-angle setup. The company is set to launch the Honor Magic 6 series, comprising Magic 6, Magic 6 Pro, and Magic 6 Ultimate. The team also collaborated with Porche Design to launch a limited edition Honor Magic 6 Pro and Magic 6. As per a new leak, the smartphone appears to feature an upgraded System-on-Chip(SoC), RAM, and storage, along with Optical Stabilization (OIS) for the primary camera. It could also launch with wireless charging capability along with IP68 dustproof and waterproof certification. These small upgrades could help Honor rake up sales of the Honor Magic 6.

Speaking of the previous leaks, the Honor Magic 6 Pro model is expected to ship with a QHD 2K OLED display featuring a pill-shaped cutout enacting a dual selfie camera. Oppo and Honor are the only major Chinese brands left to unveil their latest flagship smartphones. Lately, more details about these phones are emerging on the internet indicating an imminent launch.

A reliable tipster has now revealed when we can expect these handsets to go official. As per him, both these product lineups will be announced at around the same time. Let’s go through the details.

According to Digital Chat Station, the Oppo Find X7 series and the Honor Magic 6 series will launch around January 8-10. This means they will debut before the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.

The entire Find X7 series will feature zoom cameras. In fact, the ‘Pro’ and ‘Ultra’ will be equipped with two periscope zoom cameras as opposed to one on the standard model.

The Find X7 Pro will retain the display from its predecessor. It will be fitted with a 6.82-inch quad-curved OLED display offering a QHD+ resolution and 1-120Hz refresh rate (LTPO). It will also come with an alert slider.

On the other hand, the Honor Magic 6 series is said to arrive with an improved ToF 3D face recognition system, a variable aperture camera, a 160MP periscope camera, and an AI model with 7 billion parameters.

Oppo Find X7 series design revealed in leaked poster

Rumors around the upcoming Oppo Find X7 series have been swirling for months now. But now we might have our proper first glimpse of its design. A leaked poster circulating on Weibo appears to reveal the back of the phone.

The poster shows a phone with a prominent circular camera island on the back housing four lenses, suggesting it could be the Find X7 Pro or the rumored Find X7 Ultra.

Earlier today, prolific tipster Digital Chat Station also leaked the purported camera specs of the Find X7 series.

The Pro and Ultra models are said to feature a 50MP 1-inch Sony LYT900 primary sensor, along with a 50MP ultrawide lens and two periscope telephoto lenses — one with 3x optical zoom and another with an impressive 6x zoom, both using 50MP sensors.

We can also see the Hasselblad logo sitting near the lenses which indicates the camera maker’s involvement in image processing. Earlier in November, Oppo unveiled its next-generation Hasselblad HyperTone camera system.

The HyperTone system promises advanced AI noise reduction, RAW-domain processing, and even individual pixel brightness correction. Oppo Find X7 series will make use of this new algorithm.

Moreover, the phone also sports a unique dual-tone back panel, seemingly featuring a metallic top half and a leather bottom. The design reminds us of Huawei’s recent Mate 60 series. Unfortunately, the poster doesn’t reveal the front look of the device.

In terms of specs, the Find X7 Pro and X7 Ultra will use the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the base Find X7 is expected to get the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC. Interestingly, the top-tier Find X7 Ultra might even offer satellite connectivity.

Oppo is expected to officially launch the Find X7 series sometime early next year, with the exact date likely to be announced soon. While the Chinese market will likely be the first to receive the phones, we’ll keep you updated on any further developments and official details as they emerge.

Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil the highly anticipated Redmi Note 13 series of smartphones in India soon. But ahead of the official announcement, the company has shared official teasers that reveal some key features of the top end Note 13 Pro+ model.

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ Front & Rear Design Teased

As per the official teasers, it has been confirmed that the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ will be the world’s first smartphone to come with the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra SoC. On the front, the Chinese tech giant confirmed that the device will sport a curved display with a 1.5K resolution. Meanwhile, the rear will feature what the company calls a Fusion design. This basically means that the back has a vegan leather panel.

To recall, the smartphone houses a VC heat dissipation that covers a 4,000mm² area. For photography, the device has a triple camera setup on the rear, which consists of a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP3 primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. On the other hand, the front houses a 16-megapixel selfie camera. A large 5,000mAh battery pack powers this device, which supports 120W fast charging.

The Note 13 Pro series is set to go on sale via Flipkart along with the company’s official website and offline stores. For those unaware, Redmi will be unveiling the new smartphones in India on 4th January 2024. The global launch of the handset is also around the corner since it recently visited the NBTC certification authority in Thailand. Honor is set to unveil the Honor 90 GT on December 21 in China. The smartphone is currently open for pre-booking and is listed on the official store with four different storage configurations and three color options. The smartphone is set to bring exciting hardware that will ensure a PC-level viewing experience.

Honor’s CMO, Jiang Hairong-Harrison, said that the device will set a new benchmark for mobile gaming with its high-end display quality and effective tuning of the chipset. The smartphone offers elevated performance, and the GPU enhances the gaming experience. The SoC on board ensures powerful performance with full-frame gaming.

However, the impressive display over the top of promising hardware will surely enhance the image quality.

Honor 90 GT Specifications (Expected)

The recent design leak reveals narrower bezels on three sides as compared to the iPhone 15 Pro. The previous leak also confirms great gaming performance sustainability with non-stop gaming for five hours without any touch issues or significant lag. The Honor 90 GT will be paired with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and different storage variants, including 12GB+256GB, 16GB+256GB, 16GB+512GB, and a whopping 24GB+1TB.

It could come with dual 50MP cameras carrying Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) support. The smartphone will debut in blue, black, and gold color options. Along with the Honor 90 GT, the company could launch other smart devices like the Honor X50 GT and Honor Tablet 9. The Honor 90 GT is already up for pre-orders on Honor’s official Chinese website.

Its predecessor, the Honor 80 GT, was launched last year, featuring a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It is powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and is made available with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage options. The smartphone has a triple rear camera featuring a 54 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide camera, and a 2 MP macro lens. There’s a 16 MP front camera for selfies and video calling. We expect subtle improvements in both the hardware and design of the Honor 90 GT.

Chinese automaker XPeng Motors has announced an exciting year-end discount, slashing prices on its entire XPeng G6 series. The limited-time offer, starting from December 18, 2023, presents a substantial reduction of 10,000 Yuan ($1,400), with prices now beginning at 199,900 Yuan ($28,040).

The XPeng G6, unveiled in June of this year, initially ranged between 209,900 Yuan ($29,444) and 276,900 Yuan ($38,843)

Interested buyers should take note of the specific terms outlined in the promotion. The discounted prices and associated policy benefits are applicable only throughout December 2023. Customers opting for this special offer can enjoy a 10,000 yuan price cut and a 24-month 0% interest policy. It’s worth noting that customers can choose only one of the two benefits mentioned.

The XPeng G6, unveiled in June of this year, initially ranged between 209,900 Yuan ($29,444) and 276,900 Yuan ($38,843) in the domestic market. The vehicle boasts dimensions of 4753 mm in length, 1920 mm in width, and 1650 mm in height, featuring a wheelbase of 2890 mm.

Performance-wise, the single-motor version comes equipped with a drive motor with a rated power of 110kW and a peak power of 218kW. It includes a lithium iron phosphate battery and a ternary lithium-ion battery from China Innovation Airlines. Meanwhile, the dual-motor version offers a power range between 50kW and 110kW, featuring a peak power of 140kW and 218kW, and is equipped with a ternary lithium-ion battery.

Notably, the XPeng G6 impresses with a CLTC range reaching up to 755km. The vehicle is constructed on the advanced 800V SiC silicon carbide platform, supporting XPILOT intelligent assisted driving for a comprehensive and futuristic driving experience.

POCO‘s latest offering, the C65, hits the Indian market today, marking its debut after a recent launch in the country. The smartphone packs a punch with a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, delivering power with 8GB of RAM. The device boasts a 90Hz LCD panel shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

For those eyeing the POCO C65 in India, the pricing starts at Rs 8,499 ($102) for the 4GB + 128GB variant, reaching Rs 10,999 ($133) for the top-end model. The sale has begun exclusively on Flipkart. As an incentive, POCO sweetens the deal with a flat Rs 1000 instant discount for ICICI Bank Credit and Debit Card transactions during the launch offer.

Taking a closer look at the specifications, the POCO C65 sports a 6.74-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone runs on MIUI 14 for POCO, based on Android 13. The device comes in Pastel Blue and Matte Black options, with dimensions of 168.0 × 78.0 × 8.09mm and a weight of 192 grams.

Xiaomi is setting its sights on the automotive industry, with plans to launch its first electric car in the first half of 2024. The company’s founder, Lei Jun, recently expressed his ambitious goals for the venture in an interview with Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.

“I came into the car building with an aim to win,” Lei said. He outlined two key principles guiding Xiaomi’s automotive ambitions: leveraging proven technologies from established carmakers and investing heavily in research and development.

Xiaomi isn’t taking a traditional approach to car building. Lei revealed that the company has dedicated over 10 times the resources typically invested in a first car model by a conventional automaker. This translates to a team of 3,400 engineers and an R&D budget exceeding 10 billion yuan (approximately $1.4 billion).

“We invested 3,400 engineers on the first model, and the whole R&D investment was more than RMB 10 billion. So we are making use of more than ten times the industry’s investment,” he said.

Despite his confidence, Lei acknowledges the challenges ahead. He expressed concern about potential production bottlenecks and long wait times, which could damage Xiaomi’s reputation if not managed effectively.

“I’m more worried that if everyone buys it, resulting in a long wait time, say one or two years, we’ll get a bad rap,” Lei said.

While the official unveiling of the car is still to come, some details have already been revealed. The model dubbed the SU7, is a sporty-looking four-door sedan that surpasses the size of both Tesla’s Model 3 and Nio’s ET5. It will be available with two battery options offering ranges of up to 800 kilometers on a single charge.

The electric car market is already crowded with established players and ambitious startups. Xiaomi’s success will depend on its ability to deliver a car that stands out in terms of performance, technology, and, perhaps most importantly, price.

Intel recently unveiled its Core Ultra mobile processor lineup, also known as Intel Meteor Lake. OEMs have started announcing laptops featuring these new chips with GIGABYTE being the latest of the bunch.

GIGABYTE has debuted the refreshed AORUS 17 and AORUS 15 laptops for 2023, featuring NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs and the new Intel Core Ultra 7 processors.

The AORUS 17 and AORUS 15 laptops are great for gaming and creative tasks as they come with expandable DDR5 memory. They use Intel Core Ultra 7 processors, known as “Meteor Lake,” which have the Intel AI Boost Engine to make the battery last longer. The AORUS 17 has NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series Laptop GPUs for powerful graphics, and it uses NVIDIA Advanced Optimus technology to switch between graphics processors for better performance and battery life.
